i'm tired of studying, so here is a poorly written love letter essay on my infatuation with lonely women, birds in cages and transformers.

i have always had this fascination with the psychological ruminations on self-hood & identity. often, the stories closest to my heart have wealthy, waifish, women at the heart of their narratives. not always because they're relatable, but because from their point of view, the narrator is trying to hide something from the audience. to conceal the chaos and conflict that surrounds us with an illusion of peace —tethering on the edge of rose coloured glasses. alienated in this little bubble, a golden cage is still a cage.

and sometimes, to some people, the loneliest place on earth is a big house with windows high enough to reach the ceiling. because they echo back the depth of our aloneness. 

now, how does this relate to transformers? well, i have always been the kind of girl to combine two interests in one. and so i am aching to write about frivolous, indulgent women drowning in denial, forced to confront the isolation gnawing their hearts open like a sick, open wound. all because they get thrown into absurd situations where they cross paths with war-tired titans so detached from the idea of ever returning to a life before chaos.

one suffocates in peace while the other chokes on impossible dreams. 

i want a naive, prestigious, overly idealistic, investigative prosecutor from earth aboard the lost light, sent to keep an eye on megatron only to end up falling for him. because the moment she spends time alone with him: she gets a metaphorical slap across the face about her privilege and has to confront the sheltered, ignorant set of lenses she's been viewing the world through. whereas through her, the former warlord learns to tear down his walls brick by brick, starting with all the skepticism and temper. and the icing on the cake is that they learn from each other. there is a hole inside her chest, and he tells her he carries one too.

i want tarn to suffer a sudden lightheadedness from having walked into a bar on the shores of hedonia to spot a human woman singing behind the cloud of smoke and shadow. pearls and silver, glinting under the light like a forbidden present. her beauty comes from how lonely she looks with her eyes closed and mouth open, mic between her delicate fingers. tempting. alluring. it was like looking in the mirror. and the djd leader never learned to love anything else.

i want rung ( who in this hypothetical au is not primus for plot reasons ) to sit across a liaison who revels in the idea of sleeping alone in a big alloy ship because it takes her mind away from her empty childhood: where silk sheets and feathered pillows feel colder and harsher than any metal. the hug he gave her at the end of the session was the first time she was held and it didn't feel like he was there to hold her together. 

i want swerve to compliment her when she's tipsy and borderline drunk by the table of his bar and for her to hide her face and cry because she finally feels beautiful — truly, sincerely, beautiful. that out here, surrounded by an alien crew who couldn't care less about how she presents herself, pretty words suddenly don't feel transactional anymore.

i want this terrified and secluded bird inside of me to finally find a home within the arms of tall, metal mechs. mechs who are familiar with the vast, empty stretch of space. and is not terrified of lonely women and their quiet, self-destructive vices. and maybe that's why i love self-inserts so much, and writing on this blog breathes life into me — the nightingale in a cage meets a spaceman tired of fighting, and maybe only together can they find some sense of freedom.

Mini Rant about Zelda’s Trauma

I feel like Zelda’s trauma is overlooked in the franchise, like in most games she probably has as much trauma as Link.

Especially BotW/TotK Zelda, I personally believe that she has more trauma than that game(s) Link does.

Yes BotW Link dies protecting her but Zelda still held off Ganon for an entire century.

Don’t even get me started on Zelda’s trauma in TotK alone..

TL;DR: Zelda’s trauma is very overlooked in the franchise, especially BotW/TotK Zelda.

(I might expand on this later, it’s nearly 1am and I’m tired)

what's really interesting is katsuki's dialogue in the end, he says, "腐れ縁だわ.." which is basically-

like they are close but not that close ;; i was considering putting it as a "toxic relationship" but rotten also goes the same way. i really like that he admits to others openly that their relationship was terrible to the point where he tries to change ;;;;

edit: because some understood it differently lol i described 腐れ縁 as "an undesirable but inseparable relationship" as i've mentioned above. i took the literal kanji 腐: rotten/sour since if you do try to describe 腐れ縁 in simpler terms, it'll more than likely lose its deeper meaning ;; if i were to edit it out, i would say "it was a complicated relationship" instead. now IF i had enough space tho, i would prob put "it was an unsavory relationship where i couldn't break it off no matter what."

hey i was wondering how mischa from rtc would react to a reader being on their period- tysm!

Mischa... Mischa Mischa Mischa.... he calls you up because he's already on his way over to your place but he missed the sound of your voice too much to wait. Or as he put it, "my heart is a cathedral, your voice is the ringing of the bells, the doves that fly above. each moment I am away from you, it is no longer house of worship because there is no divinity, no angels to deliver salvation, no embrace of heaven's gates."

so he shows up and sees you all snuggled up on the couch in your crusty comfy bed rotting clothes, but the way he looks at you is so sincerely the way someone else would look at the most breathtaking supermodel. he looks at you with that raw ukrainian passion and rushes forward to you. he takes your face so tenderly in his hands presses your foreheads together before he kisses you.

"oh, my beloved, my kokhanyy..." your stomach always does that little twisty flippy thing when he calls you kokhanyy - beloved in ukrainian. he's been using the pet name for as long as you can remember, but it still makes you all flustered. he kisses you some more and notices you don't seem to be quite yourself. he crouches down next to you, holding your hand in both of his, kissing it and holding it to his cheek as he asks what's wrong. you tell him you woke up to your period this morning and all you want to do is curl up in a ball and not move.

"period, period..." he murmurs, trying to remember what the ukrainian translation is. "oh, menstruatsiya!"

"yeah, menstruatsiya." you chuckle.

"oh, my dove..." he says, pulling you close to him. he rests your head on his chest, stroking your hair or caressing your cheek. "it is a most beautiful thing. the blood of your womb gives way to the seeds of new life. It is like a kiss from the stars, it is telling you that you are a strong, fertile tree, bursting with the fruit of life."

you look up at him, smiling softly, touched by his words.

"besides, squeezing lining of organs out of bleeding hole is gangster as SHIT, yo!" he exclaims, jumping up before kissing your hand again.

"I go get you chocolates and medovik." he says as he rushes out, then turns around.

"honey cake. very good, very comforting." he clairifies. you chuckle to yourself as he rushes out to get you some sweets and comfort food. you really don't know what you'd do without him.

arcane season 2 introduction analysis incoming:

does anyone else find it really cool, but also very nerve-wracking, that the season 2 arcane introduction is referencing a bunch of well known tragic plays/musicals? we all know riot/fortiche isn’t one to put unnecessary details in, every single thing is either symbolic, a parallel or foreshadowing - especially in the introductions. so, could these chosen plays/performances foreshadow how the rest of the story could go?

i know that the caitlyn/macbeth poster parallels have been circulating a lot recently, and i think it provides a really good idea into how caitlyn’s arc might go. 

the events of act one positioned caitlyn in a perfect place to follow the storyline of macbeth. her current state (losing her mother, the trauma from jinx, etc) has made her predisposed to violence, much like macbeth. we can clearly see that in the caitvi betrayal scene, when she hits vi in the gut with a rifle, as well as in the fight before that, where she has no qualms with potentially killing innocents for the ‘greater good’. she was also thrust into a position of high power where she will be easily manipulated by ambessa. 

similar to this, macbeth is a story of a man thrust into a high position of power and unable to keep the blood off his hands, and he and his wife eventually go mad because of it. I think ambessa fits the role of lady macbeth here, and she has the potential to goad caitlyn (macbeth) into violent acts and atrocities while keeping the blood and blame off her hands. through caitlyn, ambessa now has significant influence and power over piltover and the fight with zaun. how will caitlyn, who is barely more than a pawn now, cope with this? macbeth slowly went insane in his attempt to maintain power - i fear for how caitlyn will fare. 

macbeth is a tragedy, by the way. 

i haven’t properly analysed the rest, but i think it’s interesting to know that the shot of jinx holding the flag is a reference to les mis (also a tragedy, as SPOILER ALERT all the characters die in their fight for freedom and fairness). the line is literally 'oh the misery'. if jinx rallies zaun to fight against piltover, is she leading them into a massacre?  

les mis is a tragedy. 

the shots of mel and ambessa lounging on the couch is a reference to julius caesar. it is a play of betrayal and caesar is betrayed by one of their companions. et tu, brute? brutus joins a conspiracy to assassinate caesar and prevent him from becoming a tyrant. does ambessa become a tyrant/bloodthirsty leader with her newfound power? will mel join the black rose and betray her mother in order to stop piltover’s destruction?

julius caesar is a tragedy.

one last thing. in all of these works, the main character of the story dies by the end.

so, safe to say, i am very nervous about what the introduction is foreshadowing. i have a feeling an important character is going to die.

arcane will be a tragedy. 

(viktor and the mask is also a reference to phantom of the opera but, as much as i love that musical, i haven’t analysed his shots yet so i haven’t included it)

Not my usual post but I’ve been rewatching mouthwashing again and again and noticed something

I’d like to take a moment and mention how the vent part near the end of mouthwashing represents a character in some way.

Starting off with Daisuke, on the first section of the vent. How do we know this is daisukes part? Turn back, and his face burns into the screen. "No turning back now." Is blatantly telling us how he couldn’t turn back once he entered that vent, and him being the first one is because he himself entered that vent. And that is how he met his end— he couldn’t turn back. He still kept going, though. He had to. Because his friend was on the line, and honestly— that’s fair. Also, at the beginning hibiscus flowers and items he had nearby him. I feel like that kinda represents his interest, and items that surrounded him through day to day life.

Swanseas part is where it kinda gets complicated, you fall down a door. Hibiscus petals surround the circular hole you fall into. I feel like this kinda represents Swansea’s and Daisuke’s father-son like relationship, and once you fall down that hole, you see tons of polle posters. Posters Swansea has seen all of the years he worked at pony express. His monologue were his last moments, no doubt. That speaks for itself. However, during the graveyard section— you can hear a baby crying and see a memorial for Daisuke. He was attempting to kill Jimmy for them, like a father protecting his children.

Anya’s section is the ultrasound. The child coming from it, one she’d have by no consent of herself, looks like a monster. It’s what Jimmy wanted to escape, it’s what he wanted to kill, and it’s what attacks him in his delusions. He views it as a monster, because it’s what would create repercussions for himself. What would get him arrested. What would make him look like the culprit when he so desperately wanted to be the hero.

Curlys, on top of being gruesome, is extremely painful to watch. The eyes at the start would represent how all eyes are on Jimmy after everyone else is dead. The only eyes on the ship, are on him. I feel like this represents his pain, also— and he’s getting fed his own leg. He was an enabler, he wasn’t the best, but it hurt me to see that happen.

Jimmy talking to polle represents his consciousness, his self pity. He only recognizes he does wrong if he puts himself in the good light. He’s a narcissist, he doesn’t do any good. Yet he still thinks of himself as the hero who can fix everything. Why are you so concerned with him? So you can look like the hero in your own delusions.

Jesper goes to college for agriculture but then switches to a theater degree, Kaz is in economics and like business, Nina studies International Relations, Inej is either an English or a Psychology major, Wylan is chem or music, probably a chem major and a music theory minor for his fathers sake, and Matthias… honestly i don’t know what Matty does. he’s just there. he works at a coffee shop with Jes. and he does school but like i have no clue what.

Okay, so I’m still chewing on this Hallis situation.

1. Ludinus was human in his youth but he’s been doing the fey slurpee shit for so long it actively altered his body. (Hence his particularly fey-like ears.)

2. Ludinus and Hallis were kids together and Ludinus has co-opted Hallis’s entire tragedy as if it were his own so even if he obviously can’t convince anyone he was Hallis, he can still use him as a platform. (The Dear Evan Hanson Approach.)

3. Hallis has nothing to do with Ludinus and Ludinus didn’t know him at all and he’s looking at this like Kipperlily Copperkettle looks at Riz right now feeling like his sad backstory is not NEARLY epic enough and he missed an opportunity to go bigger.
