It was suppose to arrive the end of September, on the 6th October I emailed them asking when it was suppose to arrive and I got this email back.

We waited.. and waited..

It’s now 25th November so my mum filed a chargeback and now they’re trying to counterclaim the chargeback

We have received absolutely NOTHING

Not even a tracking number or even an updated email saying it’s been ‘dispatched’

This event will go on for the entire duration of October, with each week being allocated a list of prompts and a designated book/series to coincide with them.

We are currently in the process of deciding which prompts we are going to go with, but the books have already been selected.

I don't know who needs to hear this but you don't need to beat yourself up over the fact that you're thinking about stuff like a camp Halfblood au of your ocs instead of "actually working" on your wip.

I actually encourage you to think those thoughts through!

Let them run around freely in your head because when they come to a halt you might just have learned something about your characters, their dynamics and their world, you may even find the solution to that plothole or the answer to that question that has plagued you.

Imagine your character's future to find out how they would act in a different phase of their lives so that you can write their present self in a way that leads to this future self. Think about what music your high fantasy character would listen to if they were in a coffee shop au. Figure out what Hogwarts house your ocs would be sorted in and if their relationships would change or stay the same. Create that alternate timeline where the best friends are on opposite sides and think about the consequences this would have for the world around them. Age up your characters just for fun and see where that takes you. Think about memes that a future fanbase could make about your work like a "[insert wip name] but as vines" YouTube video. Decide who of your ocs would say what if you see one of those fake quote posts or textpost memes on here.

All of that is information and context, all of this association helps you get a grip of that idea in your head, it helps you get a feeling of who your characters are, what your world is and what your story needs and wants to be. If you don't put pressure and restrictions on yourself and allow yourself to explore stuff freely without wanting results you often get them anyways, that's part of the creative process.

On February 13th, the president issued an Executive Order saying that the administration would be establishing a commission to attempt to lower the prevalence of autism and chronic health conditions in the United States. The proposed plan is full of attempts to research thoroughly debunked science, states goals that run counter to the actual actions taken by the administration, and spreads misinformation about autism. ASAN disapproves of the proposed plan, and will be joining efforts to push back against its harmful ideas, as well as the harmful policies proposed by the current administration.

The proposed plan refers to autism and other disabilities as “a dire threat to the American people and our way of life.” This is fundamentally inaccurate. Autistic people have always been here, including before America existed. We aren’t new. The document cites the increase in autism diagnosis since the 1980s as evidence of an “epidemic.” This ignores the fact that healthcare access has changed dramatically in the last forty years.

…The order also refers to autism as a “disease.” Autism is a developmental disability—and disability is a natural part of human diversity. Autism is something we are born with, and that shouldn’t be changed. Autistic children should get the support they need to grow up into happy, self-determined autistic adults. For many people, diagnosis is the first step towards accessing those supports. Increased diagnosis is a positive thing; it indicates the many, often multiply-marginalized, autistic people who are gaining access to autism diagnoses and receiving the supports they need.

Oh my god I can’t put into words how awful this is. I just can’t. We do not have a “disease”. Autism is a neurodevelopment disorder that makes them have difficulty with social interaction, sensory issues, and other things. And there is nothing wrong with that. This is absolutely disgusting and dehumanizing to the autism community. What’s next? ADHD?

God my hatred for this man is increasing daily.

This is absolutely stupid. According to Trump:

“The autism stat—and you hear different numbers, but it’s thousands. They say between 10 and 20 thousand,” Trump said Friday during a National Governors Association meeting at the White House. “If you go back 15 years ago, we had, like, nobody. It was one in 20,000. Now we have one in 34 … kids have autism.”

“The Pennsylvania Dutch, they don’t do anything and they’re amazingly healthy,” Trump said, offering the Pennsylvania ethnic group’s lifestyle as a potential model to avoid the disorder.

Autism isn’t rising or anything. It’s called better testing, better understanding, and better education/sources. And oh my god, the Pennsylvania Dutch (whatever that is), has autistic people too I’m willing to bet.

What does autism have to do with anything political?

PSA about flat face dogs

Mostly talking about Frenchies but this also applies to Bulldogs and Pugs, and other flat faced breeds.

Flat faced dogs are really unhealthy and have breathing problems, eating problems, and eye problems. Their existence is inhumane. They live terrible lives and have alot of heath problems beacuse of inbreeding and overbreedding. That happens in alot of popular purebred dogs, but it's worse for flat faced dogs. What makes me the maddest is that Frenchies were the most popular akc recognized breed last year. This is really bad. They are the most unhealthy dog breed to live, and it is important to know that.

I'm not trying to tell you that if you own one you are an animal abuser, just do not buy them firsthand or god forbid breed them. If you knew about this and still got a Frenchie, Pug, Bulldog, ect firsthand, then you're a bad person.

And this here are her parents. They live in Florida and were affected by Hurricane Helene. Thankfully her parents are ok, but her childhood home is not. Her parents lost everything due to the hurricane. Katie has started a GoFundMe page to raise money for her parents to help aid in rebuilding after this travesty.

The great thing about fandoms is that it’s a community built on love and passion for the content made. Another way to show love is, if you have the resources, is to help those that provide/produce content that puts a smile on our faces.

Are you interested in voice acting, but intimidated by the prospect of a large role? Did you consider auditioning for the Syzygy project before, but didn't because of time constraints? Are you just finding out about this project now and wishing you had discovered it sooner so you could be a part of it?

Well, you're in luck, because the Syzygy Podfic Project is in need of extra voices to fill out our cast! There are dozens of minor roles that are perfect for anyone hoping to dip their toes into voice acting in a large project!

Make sure to only submit the form once you are confident in your recording! Only the first submission will be accepted, so take your time and get the best take you can before submitting!

Tips for recording your audition:

Record in a small space that's insulated - a closet can work very well, as the clothes can minimize the echo and avoid too many outside sounds.

Make sure you are the proper distance from your microphone - this can take some testing and trial and error!

Have your microphone resting on a flat surface, don't attempt to move it while recording.

Don't be afraid to do multiple takes and only pick your favorite ones!

Audacity is a free audio recording software that is very intuitive for a beginner to use, if you're looking for a recording program.

TEXAS ANIME FANS THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION

The Texas congress are trying to pass a bill that seeks to ban anime, cartoons, & video games that they deem to have 'obscene content' involving minors including sexual exploitation.. Which sounds great on the surface, but here's the problem...it's basically KOSA, but targeted at anime, video games, and cartoons. The wording of the bill surrounding what they deem as 'obscene' content is extremely vague and that's most likely on purpose) so they could use it to ban pretty much anything they want. Including any anime with LGBTQIA+ themes. The bill also states that anyone owning ANY of the material that they deem obscene could be charged with a felony. So you could get in trouble with the law for owning something as innocuous as Sailor Moon dvd's or manga.

And with this felony, they could possibly go after sellers and destributors of anime such as Crunchyroll, and Funimation who are both based in Texas, as well as dealers room sellers at anime conventions. Which means this could possibly spell the beginning of the end of anime conventions in texas entirely. And how long before they start going after your favorite texas based fan artists and fan merch creators??

I know most of y'all don't care about my state cuz it's a southern state and "we" 'voted for this' so we deserve to suffer, but I garuntee you we fucking DID NOT! our state is heavily gerrymandered (meaning our elections are all rigged in favor of republicans otherwise Texas would've been blue a long time ago) And it's also home to one of the largest LGBTQIA communities in the country! There are nerds and minorities here that suffer too!

So please if you live in Texas, read this bill and contact your house reps and tell them to vote no on senate bill 20. because it already passed the senate under everyone's nose. If you don't live in Texas, please spread the word and let your Texas anime friends know. This is strait up fascism under the guise of protecting children as usual. If the Texas gov actually cared, they would've outlawed child marriage and made gun reforms to stop school shootings. It's never about the kids. It's about censorship and control
