It was quite comfortable, having a friend like Ren could even be strange, he looked like cotton candy and it was very nice to spend time together. But then again, you were just friends, it was a little strange that he mentioned being in a relationship with you.

But things have taken a bit of a drastic turn, Ren has spent his days trying to hang out with you, having lunch together, spending nights watching anime and horror movies, that would be nice if it didn't feel so overwhelming.

So it's time to confront him.

"Ren, hey, I know you like me a lot but we can't go out every day, I'm not always up for that so… I'll let you know when we can go out, okay?"

And there was only silence from the pink-haired boy, he seemed to be trying to smile unsuccessfully, just looking at you.

"Of course, angel, don't forget to call me!" He spoke nervously trying to hold back the storm in his throat.

Just when you were about to leave a hand grabbed your forearm, Ren was still looking at you with a smile, a sad smile.

"You're going to call me, right?" He asks, his eyes widening in desperation, Ren didn't want to lose you, he couldn't stand it, not again, what if you're thinking about slowly walking away?

"Sure, later" was the only thing you mentioned before pulling your arm to leave, it's not like you had an avoidant attachment pfff!

The days passed and life could be considered calm, you went out with your friends, you greeted your strange neighbor who loved to walk to her floors, work was not unpleasant and you even bought yourself a small dessert for dinner tonight.

You and Moth talked late into the night about the new episodes and since Haruko was so adorable, life felt peaceful once again. It's not that Ren was a problem, he was attractive and if you had enough self-esteem you would think you had a chance with him but…

I suppose not.

Speaking of Ren, what is he doing now? Visiting him would be a good idea, it's been days since they last spoke.

Once morning arrived you headed towards his large apartment and knocked on the door, not long after it was opened by Ren, who looked just like an abandoned puppy, you could almost see his eyes shine and his breath was lost just by seeing you in front of him. him.

"Angel, you're here! oh god, I-I'm so sorry for the mess, I didn't expect you to come… to my apartment…" It sounded a little strange, but it was just Ren being shy.

"Yeah uh… I'm sorry, are you busy? I can go, yes, maybe I should have let you know I was coming."

"No! NO! it's okay, you just surprised me, do you want a drink? I have your fav-… many options! I have many drink options" He corrected himself immediately with a smile, his face was almost the color of his hair and I was dying to say that I miss you so much.

“No” You interrupted, it sounded a little rude so you cleared your throat. "Now I'm not sure, I was just passing by to say hello, plus I don't have money to buy something…"

"I can buy it for you," he said almost immediately, his eyes fixed on you, almost sweating from having you close.

"That's very generous, Ren, but…"

"Please! It's your day off, right? We could go out and…"

"Ren, I'm not-…"

"Please, angel!" He begged, his hand had climbed to your arm and you didn't even notice, he was now gently squeezing your shoulder, wanting closeness, wanting to date, wanting you and you kept pushing him away.

The atmosphere was a little awkward now, you didn't know whether to be flattered that he thought you were interesting enough for Ren to want to spend time with you or scared by how desperate he looked about it.

"No thanks, I think I better go back to my apartment" You mentioned as you pushed his hand from your arm, you didn't even have time to turn to the door when Ren grabbed your arm tightly, a painful grip.

"Ren?"

"Can we be together, please? I-I'll make you feel special, I want you to be okay and I want you to…" his expression seemed so… surprised, to see you, embarrassed to act like that? scared of being abandoned? overstimulated? "all I want is to be with you!"

He almost roared out, his grip on your arm becoming more and more painful, he was pulling you away from the exit door.

"Ren, that hurts! REN! REN!"

"JUST LET ME HOLD YOUR HAND FOREVER!" He begged between screams, only a beeping sound existed in his head as he watched you fall to the ground in a pool of blood.

Now you were on the ground, screaming and crying out loud, it was agony, Ren had hurt you.

For fuck's sake, not only did he hurt you, he tore your fucking arm off and now you were writhing in your blood as you slowly lost consciousness.

Wake up.

Your body was still shaking, you were still terrified, and you had to escape, where was your arm? As soon as you woke up you found a sweaty Ren who was looking at you with a desperate and nervous smile.

It was a deranged look, almost immediately you started crying out of panic, your arm was gone, your arm, he tore it off, you were hyperventilating as you watched his left arm missing.

"REN! REN!!" You were sobbing in despair, the pool of blood was still on the floor, how long were you unconscious? not much because apparently Ren had tried to stop the bleeding and close the wound, seeing bandages full of blood made you vomit immediately, but that didn't stop you from crying in agony.

"Angel, please! s-stop crying, I'm so sorry, I'm sorry, please forgive me! FORGIVE ME, I DIDN'T WANT TO! IT WAS NOT MY INTENTION!" He begged you as he sobbed himself, he had hurt you and that was something he never thought of doing, that he never wanted to do. "l-look, now we are equal, can you forgive me?"

What did he say ..?

Your throat had closed and the screams stopped, that guy was fucking deranged.

He ripped his left arm off of him.

For you.

He came up to hug you, wanting to be comforting, to make you feel accompanied in this, to give you love in such a dark time.

No no no no.

"NO! NO! NOOO! PLEASE, NO!" You screamed in panic as the tears came out, that couldn't be happening, disgust and terror filled your poor mind as you were caressed with so much love, Ren was going to take care of you and promised to never hurt you again.

"We'll be fine angel, just trust me, I'll take care of you." He spoke so lovingly, smiling as he held you, genuinely happy to be so close, to be able to touch you. "Now we match, right?"

He was joking at a moment like that, as if it were nothing, the sobs no longer came out, you could barely breathe while the tears didn't stop and he lulled you into your chest with the help of his only arm.

Things I DID Like About The One Piece Live Action

So, I’ve been getting a lot of hate for my most recent post about how I PERSONALLY didn’t like how they writ Sanji, and a lot of people are saying I hated it when I never said that like once.

SO since I “hate” it so much why don’t I tell y’all stuff I DO like so hopefully I stop getting yelled at and called a hater when I’m really not.

Let’s get started!

Inaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy

In only the nicest way possible, Inaki as Luffy has the same cutie patootie wide eyed idiot vibes as the original Luffy himself. “Idiot” being in quotation because he’s just goofy, Luffy is definitely one of the most emotionally intelligent characters in One Piece.

I love his wide eyed “IM SO EXCITED TO BE HERE” mentality until shit hits the fan and he gets serious when it comes to those close to him/his friends.

There isn’t a lot to say other than I did enjoy his performance as Luffy, and I’m excited to see more from him as an actor.

On that note as well check out The Imperfects, I liked that and it has out cutie Inaki.

Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro

A complaint I personally see is “he’s too serious”… have they SEEN the first couple of episodes or chapters of one piece? Yes, Zoro is goofy later on but he’s also serious, more importantly he’s serious in the beginning. Zoro was always serious, but he’s goofy depending who he’s with.

He’s not serious, per say, he’s closed off, much like another character I’ll talk about later. In the live action they removed Zoros two bounty hunter friends to assumably make Zoro more of a lone wolf and I like that, it show how much Kuinas death really effected him and his will to open up to people and make friends. Until he meets Luffy.

Zoro slowly opens up, it takes time to open up to people after loosing a friend and wanting to make more friends at risk of them dying as well. Especially his drinking scene with Nami at the Baratie, this goes for the both of them, but they’re both willing to opened up to another person and grow closer as friends, and I LOVED THAT!!

I hope Zoro does the foot clap in Drum Island.

Emily Rudd as Nami

Loved, adored, I LOVE WOMEN!!!

Look I’m not biased because I’m an aggressive bisexual, I just like her a lot as Nami. Something little I love that they added for Nami is how nervous and on edge she is basically all the time, scared to fuck up or get caught because the dread of Arlong is always lingering over her.

The moments she does open up are few, but you can tell that the bricks to her thick built walls are slowly crumbling, like the dressing room scene in Kayas mansion, her scene with Kaya in her bedroom I think was an amazing add, the previously mentioned drinking scene at the Baratie with Zoro.

I can’t wait to see more from her.

Taz Skylar as Sanji Vinsmoke

Alright alright alright alright now I know what some of y’all are thinking, but PLEASE PLEASE HEAR ME OUT IM BEGGING 😭

I said the aspects I didn’t like, but I’m being positive and saying what I DO like about Sanji, so stop bullying me please.

I’d be lying if I didn’t admit I was instantly rizzed up, bite a chunk out of that WholeCake he’s packing, okay I’ll stop. But he’s still dashing, charming, and I do like his chemistry with Luffy in relating on “my father figure lost a limb for me” that was cute.

His love of cooking is there, his strength is there, and I like the little colder Sanji because his past still lingers with him and he’s being denied his true passion in life which is cooking.

And I wanna give a special shout out to Taz himself, getting a degree in cooking and training in kick boxing for his role as Sanji, true dedication to the role.

Are we all cleared up now? Has my hate train arrived at its station? Yes? Please?

Jacob Romero as Usopp

He’s a massive pussy and a charmer and I love it!

I’ve heard some people say the live action “fixed” Usopp because he’s less annoying, which…bro. He’s not annoying, he’s scared, I think ANY sane person would be scared doing half the shit they have to go through, I know I would be.

I wouldn’t say they fixed him, just saying he’s more composed. He’s a liar, he’s an actor essentially, and he plays that well.

Usopp (Jacob Romero) & Kaya (Celeste Loots)

I love them, adore, so cute, love and kisses and rainbows and glitter and roses and unicorns all around!

We all know that the fandom has shipped one woman with Usopp since day one and it was Kaya, their chemistry was there and with Usopp leaving to adventure with Luffy it seemingly held off and blue balled their relationship until later in the story.

Oda doesn’t write romance, but when he does it always goes hard!

Am I saying Usopp and Kaya are officially boyfriend and girlfriend? No, course not. But do I think it’s more motivation for Usopp to come back and survive to see the woman who loves him.

So sweet.

Morgan Davies as Koby (Coby?)

First of all, love the Aussie in the cast, me too the fuck! Plus, personally it was great to see him again in a franchise I love, the first movie I saw him in being in Evil Dead.

Anyway, if I had to admit, probably my personally favourite when it comes to manga, to anime, to live action. How nervous and skittish he is at the beginning, to becoming more confident in himself and his role as a marine are so well done, especially him already so early literally growing into his uniform, a sign of his growth later in the series.

I also love the little nod from Garp, since Koby used to work on a pirate ship he already knows how to man and take care of a ship, which gives him a level above other rookie marines.

They’ll probably push Garps group to the side in season two to focus more on Smoker and Tashigi, but I do hope to see Morgan again in season two.

Steven Ward as Mihawk

When I say perfect, I mean perfect. Chefs kiss even. As iconic as his intro in the anime and manga is, I don’t think it shows the true power of the title Warlord probably, I don’t think we see that till Crocodile, but even he got his ass beat by a 17 year old. Warlords are powerful and feared, and Mihawks introduced does that perfectly.

How carelessly and effortlessly he destroys an entire ship and it’s men and captain with ease, all because they woke him up from his nap. He may be called MiHAWK but he’s always been more like a cat to me personally. Plus, now that we’ve seen the power of a warlord, it’ll really hype up Crocodile for Season 2/3, especially for those who are live action only.

Side note, Steven was at the last con I was at, so sweet and lovely, please adopt me. I got him to sign my Crossguild poster it was epic, can’t wait to add Joe (Crocodile) and Jeff (Buggy)

Speaking of Buggy…

The Buggy cult is real, some of y’all may remember the little Buggy in the bottom corner of Tumblr to promote the live action.

What I love most is how they terrifying they made Buggy. Less we forget this is the same man who fired a canon in a dudes face because he thought he said something about his nose in the manga. There’s also the clown phobia and the real life clown attacks back in I think 2016.

Buggy is both terrifying and hilarious and they pull that 50/50 amazingly. I love goofy Buggy, but I hope they keep how ruthless he is.

Peter Gadiot as Shanks

I don’t have a lot to say because he’s not on screen much, but I think that’s okay because Shanks appears like every ten years in real life in the anime like some cryptic.

But, he still kept that warm Shanks charm that he has that we all know and love from Shanks. And as Emily said herself, “Shanks is daddy” and I can’t agree more queen.

Again, I really hope all this clears up my feelings for the live action, I never said I hated, not once, cause I never did.

It’s just like one piece itself, we all have bits and pieces we don’t like, from arcs to characters to designs to anything.

I like Skypia when many don’t, same with Thriller Bark. My friends don’t like Skypia or Thriller Bark. My friend likes Long Ring where I don’t.

We all have our own thoughts and opinions regarding one piece especially with it being such a huge series with so much.

I love one piece, and I’m not going to stop loving such a masterpiece.

"hmm, im so tired" chaewon hears you whisper after comfortably laying by her side, resting your head on the curve of her shoulder chaewon smiles and starts to caress your hair softly

"you tried to keep with eunchae energy all day, of course you are" she whispers back and lighty flick your forehead to tease you earning an indignant whine from you, she chuckles and kisses your temple lovingly.

"i was making content c'mon, we will be the highlight of this day off episode you'll see" you proudly comment and look past chaewon shoulder, where eunchae was sleeping not too far from you two. the rest of the members were sleeping behind you and the only noise on the room other then the members quiet breaths was just the whispering between you and chaewon.

"please, the way you were screaming? probably the editor will cut that out.." she grumble playfully and nudge your side,

she hears you snort but doesn't dare open her eyes until she felt you biting her neck in return, chaewon breath hitched and a small gasp escapes from her lips in surprise

"you little-" she says half angry and half amused "you better watch out or i will you let you sleep thru breakfast tomorrow" she threatens and feels you hum against her skin "good think I have other 5 members to wake me up.." you hum lowly and nip at her neck again, more lovingly this time.

chaewon can practically hear the smirk in your voice but didn't expect the way your hand roamed over her body and found their place under the hem of her shirt

"stop that. go to sleep y/n." chaewon huffs a laugh and cuddles closer to you ignoring the way her stomach flutter at your actions.

"what? i'm waiting for my apologie miss kim chaewon" you mock and move around a little easily traping her under you. chaewon denies with her head and starts to nudge your side, the tickling sensation made you squirm away and as you and chaewon were lost in each other space both didn't notice that the giggling and movements caused to stir awake a member behind you.

"y/n-" "come on chaewon i-"

"if you two don't stop and go to sleep, i swear." both you and chaewon freeze, not needing to listen twice to know that it was sakura who just whispered that.

"yes unnie.." you both agree and before you could cuddle closer to chaewon again she gives your shoulder a light slap and whispers angrily to you

"see i warned you to stop" "hey you are-"

"go. to. sleep." the grumble order made chaewon and you stop talking again, knowing better to not piss off sakura.

chaewon let a kiss in your forehead as a apology and understanding that you gave her another kiss back on her cheek, knowing that you both were okay chaewon cuddles you closer and set off to sleep, with your heart warm it didn't take long to you follow her and the room was now quiet with all members peacefully sleeping.

“You guys want anything? Im gonna try out that new bakery down the street”

Hasan asks aloud to qt, Austin, will and Marche. Having 2 hours before the podcast starts, he figured he’ll make use of the time

After getting all the orders, he walks out the house and makes his way down. He had heard from his neighbours that a new cafe had opened, apparently it was a family owned business, and they had already got a lot of customers having only been open a few weeks.

After only needed to have walked 6 minutes, he finally arrives and enters, the place having a lot more customers than he thought

He looks around to take a peek at people’s meals, trying to figure out what to get for himself

He admires the decorations put up, the place allowing him to feel calm despite the crowd

As the line shortens, he pulls up his phone to read out all the orders, but when he looks up Hasan could swear he was temporarily struck by lightning

You stand there taking the ladies in front of him orders, a smile on your face and a bright energy coming from you

Suddenly all confidence falls, Hasan could swear he wasn’t that big of a pussy, he started overthinking. Did he look presentable? Did he even brush his hair? shit.

Before he can scare himself more it’s his turn to order

“Hi!! Welcome may I take your order?”

Even though Hasan is shitting himself, your voice feels like a safety net, your presence already making him feel comfortable

He realises he’s been silent for a second too long and pipes up

“Oh! Yeah, um can I have…” he reads out the orders to you and you list them down

“For sure! Anything else?”

Hasan thinks for a second before replying

“I’m not too sure, what would you recommend?”

“Oh well we do have a deal going on, you can get a brownie frappe with a napoleon for 3 dollars if you’d like that?”

Hasan smiles at you and agrees

“Can I get a name for the order?”

“Hasan” you write it down

“Okay your total is 17.35 please”

He gives you a 20, while you get his change he takes a peek at your name tag he’ll remember it

“Okay your order should be ready soon.” You smile at him as you move onto the next customer. He goes to wait and smiles to himself

After a few minutes, he hears his name called

“Order for Hasan?” He looks up and goes to you

You’re holding a large bag, “I’ve put all your food in here just so it won’t be too hard to carry”

“Oh thank you” he smiles at you

“Of course. Thanks for supporting us have a nice day!” you smile at him before heading back to make drinks

Hasan stares at you for a little longer before finally heading out. A funny feeling in his stomach the whole way home. He makes a mental note to himself to come again.

*the week after*

Everyone’s setting up for another fear& episode when Austin speaks up

“Hey can we go to that cafe? I’m hungry”

Hasan is about to offer to do delivery before he remembers you’re there

“Yeah of course, let me write all the orders down”

“I’ll come with, help you out” Austin says

he’s partly disappointed as he was hoping to get a chance to talk to you he knows damn well he would’ve been to shy to

Him and Austin head to the cafe, once they reach it Hasan notices it’s been decorated a bit, he assumes it’s for Valentine’s Day.

They head into the line and Hasan looks to see if you’re at the counter, and you are. He has to mentally prepare himself to talk to you and hope Austin doesn’t steal the spotlight in any way. He knows he doesn’t have to worry about him but still.

The line keeps on going until the two reach the counter, and there you are as smiley as ever.

“Oh hey! I remember you welcome back! What can I get you?” Hasan completely lost his train of thought, you could compare him to a lost puppy when it came to you

Austin notices Hasan can’t speak so he starts ordering for him, grabbing the phone from him to read the order out. The moment the hand is snatched from him he comes back to reality, realising he just made an ass of himself

After Austin orders, they wait by the side to collect the order. They wait in silence for a minute before Austin chuckles and speaks up, “okay so what the hell was that?”

Hasan furrows his eyebrows “what do you mean?”

“What do I mean? I mean why did you turn into puddle the moment you went up to the counter? You got a crush on the barista or something?” Hasan looks at Austin, absolutely gone out

Austin opens his mouth in shock “oh my god you do!! Well why didn’t you say that??”

“I don’t! I don’t know what happened I probably just forgot what to say”

“What you expect me to believe a political streamer who debates people constantly forgot what to say?” Austin puts air quotes around the last bit, making Hasan roll his eyes

“Shut up, I’m going to wait over here” Hasan went to go sit down, unaware of the plan forming in Austin’s head

You finally arrive with their food and drinks

“Here you go! Thank you so much for supporting have a lovely day” before you can go Austin calls out

“Wait! Excuse me um, this may sound really weird but my friend over there thinks you’re really cute” Austin points to Hasan, who’s on his phone.

“He’s WAYY too shy to say anything but I just thought you should know. Have a nice day!” Austin walks away with the food before you can reply, your mouth is open with surprise at the sudden confession

You look over to take a peek at Hasan, to your surprise he’s already looking at you.

“Hey! What are you doing here I need help over here man” your co-worker Adam shouts out to you

You look back and head towards the counter, ready to take orders, you don’t miss the way Hasan looks back at you before heading out the door.

A week goes by before you see Hasan again, but you’d be lying if you said he hadn’t popped up in your mind

Of course you had noticed him, how couldn’t you? He looked like he had been carved out of stone, all his features stood out the moment he walked into the store. You were surprised he even came again, when he came in last week with his friend you swore you almost dropped the change in your hand. You had told yourself it wasn’t worth thinking about him though, looking like that he’s probably already taken.

So to hear his friend tell you he found you cute? And to actually catch him staring at you? You could swear you were gonna pass out. You’ve never been good at making the first move, but you figured why not give it a shot? Which is what you reminded yourself the next time he came.

*present tense*

You look up at the person who enters the shop, and your stomach does a backflip to see Hasan enter, the shop wasn’t too busy today so no one was in the queue, crap, I haven’t even got time to prepare? you thought

Hasan slowly walks up to the counter before facing you “hey” he says

“Hi! Lovely to see you again! What can I get you?” Hasan tells you his order, the whole time taking the opportunity to actually take in his facial features.

“Okay, that’ll be $5.80 please” he gives you the money

“Alright we’ll have that ready for you in a sec” you smile at him, and he smiles back you don’t miss the way his eyes trail over your body

You decide to switch with your co worker, and make Hasan’s order, you can feel his eyes on you the entire time. Why did you feel so nervous? You had seen him before, and thought he was cute anyway. The possibility he actually sees you that way too made your heart flip.

Before you go and hand him his drink, a bold idea comes into your head, it was impulse really. But you couldn’t stop yourself as you wrote down your number on his cup.

“Call me :) *************”

You made a face, wondering if it was too corny, but decided against it anyway. What could you lose?

You push down the sudden feeling of sickness in your stomach as you went and handed him his order

“Here you go! Thanks for supporting have a nice day” you smile at him and go to make another order before you can see his reaction

After a few seconds, you turn to look at him and you realise he’s reading the cup, you immediately turn away in embarrassment, scared to see his reaction. When you finish your order, you go to hand it to the woman, but to your surprise, Hasan is still there. Shit. You were hoping he’d leave

“Here you go ma’am, have a nice day” you smile but before you can walk away something is spoken out to you

“I’ll call you” you pause and turn, he walks away but grins at you before he looks in front of him. You smile at yourself and head towards the counter, not feeling any regret to your decision.

*later that evening*

You put your pyjamas on and head to your couch, you snuggle up into the blankets and scroll on TikTok for a bit. Suddenly, you receive a text from an unknown number, you press on it to see who it is

Night on the balcony, OG vs ALT Seon Jae

It's a given that OG Seon Jae was murdered by the taxi driver but I've always been more curious about the how of it, because it was never shown to us. I really thought they'd shed some light near the end of the series but oh well. I won't complain because I got the epic rom-com ending of all times. But I think we can all agree that they deliberately left so many things out to give us the cutest fluffiest ending known to mankind lol.

A couple things that clicked as I was rewatching the ALT 2023 episodes recently, *coughs* for the 19th or so time *coughs*. There's this scene:

You see Seon Jae struggling with the taxi driver, who is trying to sedate him using that hanky since the moment he barges in. Of course there's something on it, which happens to be:

In the 2009 timeline, Tae Sung's dad and his partner at work talk about how the Taxi Driver's modus operandi is using animal anesthetics on his victims. We'll come back to this shortly.

A couple things to remember:

1. OG Seon Jae was already physically unwell when we see him post-concert. It was most likely a panic attack (was it because he saw the taxi driver? We'll never know why T-T). It's very likely he took medicines to calm his nerves. Some of these anti-anxiety/nerve-calming medicines can have the same ingredients as anti-depressants based on my experience, and one of the things they do is make you slightly drowsy, as a consequence of relaxing your nerves [disclaimer: please remember this is just based on my own experience and opinions I've seen people share. Medically there might be more to it.]

2. OG Seon Jae did not jump off on his own (because he is Seon Jae). However, that doesn't necessarily mean he didn't have depression. Im Sol's incident and him blaming himself ALL through 15 years is enough for anyone to spiral into it. Whatever little we saw, there were telltale signs of it, so it is possible he was under medication in the OG timeline (BUT he didn't jump off the balcony).

3. Basically, he was not in the best frame of mind when we see him in 2023, lost in thoughts of Im Sol and their unexpected meeting on the bridge, and then checking up on her secretly, as she gets back to her apartment. I won't get into details because I promised myself this was not going to be another one of my OG Seon Jae eulogies.

He was basically preoccupied with other thoughts and physically not in a good shape to put up a fight. Heck, he didn't even bother to pick up the call from his agency CEO or react to the doorbell right away.

UNLIKE THE ALT 2023 SEON JAE.

4. ALT 2023 Seon Jae had met Im Sol without any of the guilt and pain of OG Seon Jae.

5. ALT 2023 was already "in a relationship" with Im Sol (*giggles*) when we see him in the hotel room.

6. Unlike his OG self, he never seemed to have any panic attacks/mental health issues. He confirmed it himself when Im Sol kept asking about medicines/depression. He longed for Im Sol, but he wasn't in anguish, torturing himself for 14 years over something that never happened in that timeline. So he is perfectly well and capable of not going down without some struggle or fight when the taxi driver attacks him.

Now, going back to animal anesthetics.

[Disclaimer: I'm no professional and this is just something I learned. If any of you have a professional opinion about it, please let me know!]

I initially wrote off the chloroform trope for OG Seon Jae because it's detectable during autopsy. And according to the news, nothing suspicious showed up in OG Seon Jae's autopsy except for medicines.

Some animal anesthetics, however, are undetectable in human bodies, unless you're conducting specific toxicology tests if you are suspicious of something other than chloroform. I assume nobody did this specifically because no signs of struggle were found, giving no reason to suspect the cause of his death (again, we'll never know the specifics of toxicology tests done for Seon Jae's autopsy -_-)

If this progression of thought is right, something like this might have unfolded in the OG 2023 timeline:

7. Similar to ALT 2023, the taxi driver breaks into Seon Jae's hotel room. Seon Jae probably tries to fight him but he's not able to because of ^^^1-3 reasons. Taxi driver sedates him comparatively easily.

8. Once Seon Jae is unconscious (wow it's difficult to type this because my brain won't stop playing out this scene), taxi driver fixes the room so no signs of struggle can be found later.

9. Once he is done, he takes Seon Jae and throws him off *okay breathe*

10. Seon Jae's eyes are shut when we see him underwater. He is likely unconscious because of the animal anesthetics so obviously he can't swim or save himself.

That's a lot of conjecture going on in here lol but this at least helps me not to overthink this anymore. The only thing that's still bugging me: Everyone is busy checking out what happened with Seon Jae, so it may be possible the Taxi Driver manages to sneak in to delete the cctv footage somehow, but I'm not convinced myself. Why do I have a feeling the script actually had a different plan with the whole OG Seon Jae incident thing, and they just edited ALL of the other stuff out to make it more romcom-y? Again, no complaints, I LOVE they made it more romcomy, but I've already rewatched the series so many times, it's very hard to pass off all these things as nothing when I see they were trying to form a connection underlying the main plot.

Anyway.

Act 3 spoilers

I just wanted to voice my opinions on the entirety of act 3, I will be making another post focusing on Jayce because I am disappointed with his story specifically.

Let's start with what I'm happy with!

The display of Mel's magic was amazing. All her scenes were so powerful.

CaitVi is canon! (which was predictable for obvious reasons but i'm still happy for them)

The music choice was perfect, as well as the quality of the episodes, as expected. No matter the storyline's flaws, the art style itself is undeniably gorgeous.

Maddie dies IMMEDIATELY after betraying Piltover, so I'm happy with that. Don't get me wrong, I think the season looked rushed, but the instant karma of that scene was enjoyable. It's well executed shock value.

The Caitlyn/Mel and Ambessa fight sequence was SICK. They really emphasized Ambessa's strength and battle IQ here, and while I dislike her, it was satisfying to watch.

The JayVik ending. Now, I am very conflicted with this, but I'll focus on the positive part. THIS MOMENT WAS SO TENDER!! It revealed how much Jayce truly loved and cared for Viktor, and that Viktor thought Jayce to be the only person who could ever make him acknowledge the importance of humanity. Jayce was his last and only hope, and Jayce proved Viktor right in every timeline.

Jayce defenders, we won. We got an entire episode dedicated to what Jayce and Ekko/Heimerdinger went through, and it proved that JAYCE WAS RIGHT AND HIM AND EKKO ARE OUR SAVIORS THANK YOU 🙏

Jayce looked fine asf. That is a beautiful man and I'm expecting many more edits (pretty please).

Alright, now let's get to what I'm upset about.

Jayce's wasted potential. The way I see it, they just reduced him to a pawn in Viktor's character arc, considering that his life begins and ends with Viktor. It's sweet, yes, and can be counted as a win for JayVik shippers, but I really wanted more for Jayce. And yes, I will most definitely come back to this on my Jayce-centric post.

The lack of reaction to Jinx's and Jayce's "death". I'm honestly not sure if either of them are dead (I am also somewhat in denial). Mel lost her lover, of whom brought out a softer side of herself that she didn't even know existed, and there's no reaction? Not even a scene of her finding out? The same goes for Caitlyn, since she literally saw Jayce as an older brother. Then there's Vi, who's seen completely fine with Caitlyn, and Ekko, who's having the only appropriate reaction, but even so, it's too calm. We'd have to assume that there's been another timeskip, but it couldn't have been long since the war. ALSO XIMENA, Jayce's MOTHER, she's seen putting a paper of Jayce's name to burn and honor him after his supposed death, but her expression is blank. Just simple resignation. I don't know, the lack of reaction had me questioning why I was sad.

No proper reunion scenes besides Ekko/Jinx and Mel/Jayce?????I actually liked Ekko and Jinx's reunion, but Mel and Jayce? Not even close to what I expected or wanted.

This season was rushed; that's something everyone can agree on. I think it was very focused on action rather than the complexity of these people's relationships and minds, while the first season had a balance between both. There just wasn't enough time for that balance with all the information they had to give us.

Honestly, and this is gonna sound horrible but hear me out, I would've preferred it if they had episode 6 be the last episode instead, and used the act 2 to explore Caitlyn's dictator arc and truly emphasize how long Jayce, Ekko, and Heimerdinger had been gone. I know how this sounds, but I really wanted to see more of Caitlyn and her mindset during the whole fascism plot rather than have her throw it all away three episodes later. It would've helped others understand her more, while also acknowledging how blinded she had become with anger and sadness. Also, this would've given more time for people to grow an attachment to Isha and see how she reminds Jinx of Powder!!! Just imagine it, the season closing with Jayce "killing" Viktor, no sign of Ekko or Heimerdinger, and Isha dying would have been even MORE devastating; the ultimate cliffhanger. There's no denying people would've been angry and shocked, but it would've made us want more, just like the first season did. I would be 100% willing to wait 3 or more years for the next season than have such an underwhelming ending.

Okay, I think that's it. Might add more to this post later if I come up with any other critiques, be prepared for the Jayce post because I NEED to talk about him.

God I wish I could be positive like other anons that said that for them 7x04 is the biggest confirmation buddie is happening. Please ignore this if you don’t feel like consoling me about my pessimist rant. I was optimistic but 7x04 made me a pessimist.

I just keep thinking “if 7x04 was supposed to be about buddie why was not about buddie?

Let me explain: it was the perfect setup for starting buddie. You know how it’s a bait and switch. They could have just not switched. They could have had Eddie go to buck instead of Tmmy and have Eddie say “you’re irreplaceable” which would have been much more meaningful and then “you know I can have more than a friend, right?” And buck could have said “maybe i don’t wanna be your friend” and boom you have bisexual buck and can get rid of that old ugly man.

It was the perfect setup, you need to change literally ONE SCENE. I literally can’t find a reason why they didn’t do it. My BFF said “they couldn’t make them come out at the same time” but they wouldn’t have. Eddie could have rejected him and then spend s7 coming to terms with his feelings instead of the shit that happened. I don’t believe in the “it’s cuz it’s a slow burn” theory because 6 years is slow enough. I wanna be a truther so bad but ever since 7x04 I’ve been slowly losing hope.

I flip flop between being optimistic and pessimistic… to me i can see the vision of whst they were *trying* to do with 7x4 but with no chemistry and one of the actors being so inept at their job it just fell completely flat… it felt unearned in a way bc we have seen buck and eddie interracting for 6 years, and the entire episode was centered around buck pining for eddie’s attention (im sorry, there is not way any of what buck did in that episode was out of any interest in Timmy Turner) just to throw the curveball at the end. The point of a bait and switch is thay the switch has to be believable, and earned— but it wasn’t because you spent the entire episode talking about eddie. Why not have buck’s jealousy be solely “oh i hate Tylenol, he’s so ughh and i hate him and i can’t stand him” bc if it had been that i would be more inclined to believe that buck had some sort of unconscious interest in him.

but that’s not what they did, they made him go gaga over eddie the entire episode.

another thing they could have done to make the switch effective is actually given Tuberculosis a role within the episode other thsn to show up and kiss buck… like showcase him and buck interacting more… build sublte tension there that makes it believable that buck is attracted to him… don’t just shove him in a corner and leave him collecting dust (don’t get me wrong i am NOT campaigning for them giving that man more screentime in fact i want that man off my screen as soon as possible which should have been the end of 7x3)

so from a narrative standpoint… to have eddie so intrinsically linked to Buck’s emotional arc in 7x4, i can absolutely see the vision of trying to do the whole misplaced feelings thing… even if they didn’t stick the landing at all bc lfj’s face is so stiff from all the botox that he can’t emote to save his life.

to me where things start to fall apart is after 7x4…. they had the perfect opportunity for buck to have his arc in 7x5, “mess things up with Tiramisu” (even though i fully side with buck in everything that happened on that date, like bffr) and then end the episode with them deciding to no longer pursue a relationship because they want different things (buck wants a relationship but is still new to this, Tire-Iron is old af and just wants a boytoy) and have them part ways… but they decided to double down on the relationship, having Buck invite a man he has known for 5 minutes to his sister’s wedding and then proceeded to make the wedding about buck??? that’s where the writers truly lost me. especially after they spent the first part of that ep establishing that Tricycle is nothing but dismissive and condescending to Buck just to make the whole wedding scene about them??? there was no need for that cringe-ass kiss (even if it had been a buddie plot point that kiss would have made me cringe bc the way it was written was so fuckin corny and also we waited too damn long for the madney wedding for it to be about someone else).

then ofc there’s the medal ceremony where we once again see Tuberculosis being dismissive of buck, and then 7x10 where he steamrolls over buck trying to have a meaningful conversation for him to just make a fucking sex joke…..

like i keep flip flopping back and forth bc i KNOW that T-rex has no substance as a character and no personality whatsoever beyond kissing buck, but i don’t understand why they’ve kept him around this long? There were plenty of opportunities to end things between them… 7x10 had a golden opportunity to solidify buck prioritizing bobby/eddie over his relationship and having Trampoline get upset and move on?? 7x9 could have had Bobby tell buck that he didn’t think Tablecloth was a good partner for him, comparing her to Abby and Taylor.

He was nowhere to be SEEN in 7x7

There could have been a moment in 7x6 where Eddie and Buck had a heart to heart (not even to make buddie go canon in that ep, but for eddie to point out that Truckstop doesn’t seem all that interested in him— hell or even hav HEN do it??)

After the entirety of 7b my trust in Tim has dwindled down so severely that I genuinely am trying not to form any expectations from s8… like i am fully prepared to just be disappointed again.

That being said I do think there is still so much potential for them to fix the mess quickly if they actually put in the time and effort… my issue is that idk if I trust them to fix the mess or just make it worse.

Plus if the same thing happens with s8 as s7 where they get renewed early on, that runs the risk of Tim changing the story yet again and dragging out plot points that don’t need to be dragged out.

Like it has fully been 6 seasons. Booth and Brennan were together by then, there is no reason buddie needs another full season…. especially after they’ve given themselves yet another wide open road to give us eddie coming to terms with his feelings; whether they go down that route or try to rehash shannon again is yet to be seen…

i saw someone else on here say something (and i cannot for the life of me remember who said it so full credit to that person for this quote) but it was along the lines of (and this is SEVERELY paraphrased) “tim made the choice to kill of shannon. if you wanted her to still be around then you shouldn’t have killed her. you made the choice, so stick with it.” and i feel like that applies to a LOT of the character regression/retconning we saw in s7

so i’m still in that boat of until they actually make the show good again, I’m gonna sit and wait because it’s not worth getting my hopes up and stressed about something that may not even happen bc the writers love toying either our emotions more than they love telling the story the way they themse have set it up to be told.

(also this applies to the show as a whole, not just buddie, there were so many plotlines in s7 that just careened into the realm of melodramatic soap opera to me in a way that was so ooc for the show… what happened to the little procedural dramedy? why is the cartel here committing arson? why are there pirates attacking a cruise ship in an arc that lasts all of 5 minutes? i miss the s2/3/4 era so badly (yes, say what you will about s4 but i enjoyed that season) and i really thought we were going to be getting that back in s7 (and pirate plot aside, eps 1-3 showed promise, and tbh aside from the kiss at the end 7x6 is one of my favorite episodes of the show in general, but as far as the season as a whole it just fell so flat for me)

- "no one, im mysterious" -> evidence for her not being from this dimension, if no one can give a lot of information about her

- reveals jack is her baby! (not followed by a glitch)

- says the past couple years "since the move" (between dimensions?) were weird for her

- believes the incidents they work with are real, and im certain shes in the same boat as the audience rn, trying to categorize them with background knowledge that isnt accurate anymore

sam:

- easy to make blush, doesnt know how cute he is, is an overachiever, obsessive, a but repressed, nosy, kind of a recluse, and very easy to wind up

- gifted kid syndrome poster child; he seems to view being turned away by the magnus institute as the beginning of his rejection streak (not admitted to oxford, didnt get first, got fired from his legal firm). i think this will be a major point in his motivations and a fear of rejection and need for validation is going to drive him to receive the greatness he wants (and believes he has earned). i can already see a corruption arc brewing for him, poor thing

- did NOT tell celia about his experiences in the institute or what his "incident" was (referring to lena's interview where she asked him what the worst thing he's seen/experienced was). this isnt super sketchy considering its a first date, but is interesting since he was the one who wanted "all the baggage" out early

- he doesn't want to accept that the incidents are real, but i think he does believe in them. he brought the topic up to celia and has asked alice about it before too, so he may be aware that the incidents are real, but is unwilling to fully conceptualize what that means for himself and his world view

- says that alice doesnt love the idea of him seeing celia, which means he may have picked up on her feelings for him

gwen:

- feels guilty over instigating the mr.bonzo incident -> whats really interesting is that she doesnt threaten to quit or not be involved, she accepts that she gas another email to look through and another external to interact with, but it seems to upset her

- she asks lena why this (externals and mr bonzo murder) is happening, implying that she can stomach the work if its for a reason

lena:

- gives gwen the ABCs of genre-awareness:

- this dimension also has "opposing forces- most of them meaning to be harmful.

- these "forces" need to be "balanced" and controlled in order to maintain order in the world/system -> still working off of a smirke-esque theory that retaining balance will keep the world secure. i dont know if she means balance between forces of good and evil or forces in the supernatural sense

- says the OIAR is managing the bad guys, as in monitoring their actions and directing externals to "balance" things

alice:

- actually offended that sam doesnt want to share information with her and isnt having a good time knowing sam and celia are seeing each other

- tells sam "he cant prove anything" about the cases being real, but doesnt tell him hes wrong

- i would fling myself from a sky scraper for you, miss dyer, but please never say bussin or fire again

- "stop trying to make an impact" -> the more she tells sam to cut the x-files shit out, the more she stops protesting his suspicions. her scolding has gone from "nothing is going on, chill out" to "sure, theres a conspiracy, but we are paid to ignore it"

- dated at uni, previously stated they were together for several years. it seems to have been a decent split since they stayed in contact afterward.

- sam was there for her when her parents died, but lost contact after

- she contacted him w the OIAR job details after he made an exceptionally pathetic vague post

incident:

- centered around gambling and self harm to achieve success- this draws ties to episode 2 (self harm) and episode 9 (luck). i expect this is more aligned with ep 9, as the self harm seems to be in the interest of changing his odds/luck, and the incident is primarily about gaining external success, not physical change. though, ep 2 could be a personal experience with ink5oul that is not representative with their "force"

- the narrator of this statement was quick to actively sacrifice his own well being to achieve better luck, which is a pretty stark contrast to other people who looked to harm other people in their own interest (violin guy and dice guy, i forgot their names sorry!!)

- zorro trader may be a reoccurring organization in relation to gambling

- the narrators options for his debt were to either pay it back or have a personal adjustment, once he completes the voicemail he is transferred to the adjustments apartment, which was not an option on the original call log and something he did not request

- he is promptly adjusted :)

- i think this could be related to the theme of keeping balance, since the incident narrator claims it isnt wrong to play with the loophole, and it ends with him getting what he owes, which is a nice connection to lena's explanation of the OIAR's purpose

glitches/lies:

- "im happy you're happy", alice (she is not happy that sam is with celia!!)

extra comments:

- i really didnt expect an explanation of the OIAR and its position in this so early, and im surprised lena was the one to reveal it. this exposes that shes pretty open with the staff she feels are on a need-to-know basis, and it also changes my expectations for how we'll come across a big reveal in this series, since information is being given in a more open way

- i think alice and celia definitely know something but in opposing ways- acting as foils to each other with sam (information seeker) in the middle. celia knows about how the fears work in the tma dimension, and alice knows why and what the OIAR are really doing- together, they solve the puzzle that sam is trying to piece together.
