Being airdropped into a game with zero real info about the party is confusing and kind of funny.

Also game insisted I name the MC but had a character limit so Joker is Morganna Hiiro Kousuke Horiuchi (幸佑 堀内).

Impressions of Party under the cut.

Joker: Soft baby MC. Like damn son your hair is super feathery. You're Bishie and Baby aren't you? As MC he's the Player-Insert character so probably Super Skilled... but as this is a trpg rather than a jrpg he's probably nerfed. (Metaworld Costume: Sick.)

Morgana: Insists he's not a cat. Looks like a cat, wants milk like a cat. ... Pretty sure he's a bus in one of the random pics I've seen of the main game? Sounds like a kid though. Fingers crossed on him not evolving like Teddy. Also only dude who still looks like mainline artwork so that's funny. (Metaworld Self: I want to punt it.)

Ryujii: COMPLETE dipshit. The party's Idiot Best Friend and supremely deep in the closet about MC yet will undoubtedly be the ride or die friend. Kinda looks like a monkey with the way his totally dyed hair is cut. (Metaworld Costume: weirdly edgy, probably into punk/rock, definitely quick to throw hands.)

Futaba: DEFINITELY the gamer girl. DEFINITELY the hacker of the group. Also without doubt the character who constantly drops metajokes about JRPGs, VNs, and in this one TRPGs; I'll probably will get tired of making those cracks fast. Feels like a late-game character. If she doesn't whip out conspiracy theories on people and go ham with Ars Goetia and Lovecraft Mythos references I'll be disappointed. (Metaverse Costume: Skater superhero with bugeyed goggles. Feels like a Control/Ranged character.)

Ann: Private School Girl who is definitely a delinquent who skips class to hang out at the mall. Hair has Anime American vibes so probably half-American and maybe bullied about it. (Metaworld Costume: RED-SKINNED DC CATWOMAN. Sexy cat thief!)

Haru: Sweet Girl Next Door vibes. Hair has kinda vaguely princess vibes so might be rich? If she has the giant bfs weapons I'm gonna laugh myself sick and then cry. (Metaverse Costume: Three Musketeers / Shotgun toting Fencer. Honey, why are you wearing a cowboy/musketeers outfit? At least you're having fun.)

Yusuke: Catholic School sheltered af smort boy with a SHOCKINGLY deep voice. Sounds a little pretentious. Dude looks like a twink and... uh... I'm pretty sure he designed a thong as a bathing suit from one of his lines in the opening scene? Probably deeper in the closet than Ryu. (Metaworld Costume: Kabuki Fox... Ninja? Dude's a trickster ain't he? Or maybe religious; bet he likes inarizushi.)

Makoto: Pretty, smart... quiet though. Like actually quiet compared to the rest of the party in the opening sequence. Probably just happy to be there with people. Might have no friends. (Metaworld Costume: Reminds me of Justimon and Beelzebumon so might be intended as a Kamen Rider type of Hero costume rather than an outright Thief-type? Okay so that's two people with a not-thief outfit.)

Silly things about OC between friends: When my friends' OCs want to taste Ivory's tentacles

I posted my student Ivory's design on fb and Lunariel (Noir Lune's OC, from this post) tried to eat the tentacles

And...

So what do we do? Lyah had to call Lunariel's partner to come and pick him up

Then! Alice, Mero's OC (artist of this blog's avatar) wanted to taste Ivory's tentacle too

Then Lyah had to call Alice's partner too

Then they had to collect their girl/boyfriend and settle their "arousal" at their places. We drew a lot of segg ^p^) But I'm not posting those

Here's the thing about pre-reset!Ravyn. They wanted to be in pediatrics when they got into medicine. They looked up to the doctor who took care of them when they were critically ill as a kid, and wanted to do the same. They wanted to be the kind, reassuring doctor with a bottle of bubbles hanging off their lanyard to blow for the kids who were scared, trapped in a hospital, facing the unknown and painful. But then they found they liked neuro, that they were good at surgery, and then conflicts with alien forces started flaring up at the edge of quadrant, and the need for pediatric neurologists was far outstripped by the need for adult emergency neurosurgeons, and they found themself in an SDF M.A.S.H. camp treating combat injuries like an assembly line of horror. Because they were too good at it to be "wasted" anywhere else- because that's where everyone told them they were needed the most.

So when they eventually end up at G.E.A.R.S. for much the same reason, side by side with people barely out of their teens- and then going to war against the Shadowscythe together... I think their ideal of pediatrics gets carried on, a little bit. They're looking at all these students who are of age, but still kids in all the ways that matter- kids who are scared, trapped in a war, facing the unknown and painful... and they're trying hard to take them under their wing. To be the doctor blowing bubbles, to encourage them to be lighthearted, and to spare what little is left of their youth. It's why they establish a such strong bond with the Reliant crew, why they take on TA positions and hold long office hours that too often turn into counseling sessions, why they take on more than their fair share of the fighting on missions, why they're constantly trying to lift everyone's spirits by making the kind of wisecracks we see from the canon hero.

Because from the very beginning, they wanted to work with kids. And this is the closest they got.

I’m too autistic for this, I cannot bear hearing let’s players doing their own voice acting when I adore the game’s VAs too much. Everyone always fucks up Santa’s and Lotus’s voices especially.

I understand the draw of Let’s Plays are largely the people playing them who have gained their own following, but as someone who just loves the game I don’t wanna hear ur stupid banter 💥💥💥 play the game and be intrigued but not TOO intrigued because give it a fuckin minute it’ll explain what’s going on 🙄‼️

the new hundred line trailer... oh it really looks like an uchikoshi game now, but with the kodaka style characters. I'm guessing timeline shenanigans and like. trying to prevent deaths is a thing maybe? idk. tbh I'm more interested in the uchikoshi aspects of the game than the kodaka aspects because I mean,,, a class of wacky high school students with death game mechanics,,, color me surprised, wow,,,,,,

(not counting raincode because idk, that one seems less "in your face" about being a dr spiritual successor. at least it tried to shake up the format by not having a class of high school students playing death games. it's trying to be its own thing. and I'm sure the hundred line is also trying to be its own thing but like. idk, the way it's marketed,,, hell even the music!, it seems adamant about being reminiscent of the other franchise atm)
