Exposition Universelle de Kalos or The Kalos World’s Fair

Every five years a grand exhibition is held known as Exposition Universelle (or World’s Fair if you live in Unova) is held. The purpose of these events is to promote cultural exchange between region and present the latest technology and innovation. It’s a chance for inventors, scientists, and creative types to show off their skills from humble painters to top tech school graduates. Or, if that’s not your style, theres also rides and games and food. But you should really go for the culture and science.

This years World’s Fair is being held in Lumiose City in the Kalos Region. With the full backing of the Pokemon League and Professor Sycamore, it’s sure to be a blast for everybody attending.

Nursery/Daycare idea:

A growth-chart style graphic for Littles next to the door of the nursery that functions similar to a clip-chart so that Caregivers don't need to use cues from their Little to figure out how old they feel and so that Littles don't need to pick a hard number, but instead it's more organized by "height" (more like baby, toddler, preschooler, elementary school, middle school, middle and adult).

And then if you have two Littles you can have multiple clips and kiddos and move them around to keep track. This could also be helpful if you're a flip or are working with another flip!

Sweeping away his competition with a constant lead and a final victory by 22%, Shen (Yuan) Qingqiu has officially beaten Qi Rong and been crowned the MXTX character that was/would be most insufferable if given access to the internet!

In the end, it turns out that this whole elaborate tournament was for naught. Even Qi Rong, the man voted more annoying that 63 other characters, cannot hold a candle to the sheer degree of insufferable that we know our dear Peerless Cucumber was and would be. Absolutely nobody can compare to Shen Yuan's canon keyboard warrior antics.

Thank you all for joining me on this journey! I hope everyone had fun voting in this tournament, as I know I had a lot of fun running things and watching everyone's hot takes. Shen Yuan may have rendered all but the very final round of voting moot with his sheer loveable obnoxiousness, but maybe the real most insufferable people online are the friends we made along the way :).

The Fortree Fireleaf Festival is on the way!

Are you practicing and preparing for the Fireleaf Bake-Off? Making room on your wall for something from the craft fair? Drooling over the food trucks and getting your notebooks ready for the workshops? Training your team for this month's Battles Under the Big Tree? Well, you'll be pleased to know that this year's Fortree Fireleaf Festival will take place from October 13th to 15th!

There's still time to sign up for any of the several wonderful positions that make this festival happen! We're always looking for performers, caterers, craft fair sellers (food trucks and craft fair stands will be provided), carnival games, workshop presenters, and entrants in the Fireleaf Bake-Off! Battles Under the Big Tree is also still accepting participants! If you're interested, get in contact with us and we'll get you set up!

If you're not sure about the festival just yet, stay tuned! We'll be promoting different aspects of the festival as we lead up to it and answering any questions you might have through this blog and our other socials.

the fortree fireleaf festival is a low/drama stakes event from friday night to sunday night! there's no plot here for this festival, and i've tried to cram as many roleplay opportunities into the event as i can!

legendary and sentient pokemon are allowed, but regular citygoers probably aren't going to be used to your entei walking down the street

don't do anything that would wreck the festival - it's fine to leave graffiti on the walls or cause a scene in the street, it's not okay to cut down a tree holding a treehouse in it

all of the festival's info and planning is going to be inside the discord server (let me know if the link breaks!)

i'd highly recommend joining it before you engage with the festival, there's a lot of info on the festival that's gonna be hard to roleplay without!

"Most of them are from between the dispatches."

"Sorry, I meant to ask more directly. When did you get the bite tattoed onto your ring finger? It was not there before."

You choke in the back, coughing as you turn to the side to hold back a laugh.

"The missus got jealous."

"Hey." You point at him. "You asked for it. Sorry, he tells everyone it's my fault."

The student laughs, waving her hand. "It's alright."

"He wanted me to bite him on the collar." You click your tongue. "Said I ought to mark him so his students stop trying to hook up with him."

"Luvie, is this my office hour or yours?"

"Sorry." You snap your laptop shut, hopping out the door before he can grab you for good.

"Back to your question for the paper."

"Why the ring finger?"

"So even if I forget my ring, I'm married." Simon raises a brow. "Your paper?"

"Y-yes!" She scrambles to point at what she wanted to get his input on, a muffled chuckle slipping past his lips at her panic. "Oh, I'm sorry for asking by the way. The class bet me 20 bucks in the discord if I ask about it."

"Give me a five and I'll forget you ever asked."

"Bet."

He'll grab you a drink with it to tell you later.

so it's the start of AvA part 7 and Chosen and Dark are talking, right? and the former has this vision of terrible things happening if they don't stop the latter, right here and now.

they see the ViraBots descending on the last remnants of stick kind with Dark as their leader (or Lord if you will. ha ha) and i, trusting viewer, took their assessment as reliable*. we JUST saw Dark getting uncomfortably violent in earlier scenes after all

unless Chosen has demonstrable prophetic powers (like how Orange has** in the past seen things currently happening (horizontally-prophetic let's call it: seeing faraway in the current time) (there's probably a better word for this but let's move on)), how did they know this was definitely what Dark was leading up to?

Chosen is just that... reactive. what was it. @compressedrage (hi o/ ) had a good wording let me find it. yeah i guess it was reactionary

the ONLY time we've seen them stop to think things through is actually just a terrified anxiety breakdown while they stand there, frozen, imagining the worst, until they snap out of it JUST in time to impact their reality.

but with no time left for debate. reasoning. they assumed Dark was beyond reasoning from the moment he showed off what his device could do............. because they were beyond reasoning out of fear.

Team Reign’s science is advancing and they tried to test the latest version of their mind control venom on the treasures of ruin. At first it worked, or that’s what it looked like, but the four Pokémon quickly fought off the mind control and is now roaming Paldea, causing damage to the region

Raifort needs strong trainers to help recapture the treasures of ruin before too much damage is caused!

there's been a lot of interest already in the cookbook, a staggering amount actually, which is very exciting!!! because so many people want to get involved though i need to figure out the best way to do this, to avoid repeating dishes and making sure at least the majority of them are actually feasible for dan and phil to make and eat lmao. like do i think they will actually use it.. ehh.. i have my doubts.. but nevertheless we will treat it as if they will, just in case

obviously they have to be relatively easy, that's not to say they all need to be absolute beginner recipes though like lets give them some credit, but at the same time also nothing suuuper complicated

there's also the part where phil hates or can't have like half of all foods, that's another challenge. on that note, does anyone have a comprehensive list of things both of them have said they don't like/can't eat? or even dishes they say they enjoy a lot? phil shouldn't have dairy (though that doesn't necessarily mean zero dairy in any dishes, just maybe let's try to limit it), doesn't like cheese, mushrooms, soup, olives, what else?

anyway my main point i was gonna get to at the start of this post before it got away from me is i think i'll make a google form where you can submit what dish(es) you would like to contribute and then i'll look through them all and figure it out from there. i'm guessing the best way of doing it would be to get everyone to provide multiple options so that if a dish gets repeated a lot we can still try to get as many people as possible involved. whether the final pick is one recipe per person or not remains to be seen, it's hard to tell exactly how many will actually participate in the end

sorry this was supposed to be a short post just going "i'm making a google form", i promise there will be more info and less rambling coming later
