FINALLY!! At long last, I've gotten my hands on a Pumpkin Kitty, after a whole year of wanting and waiting.

Her name is Latte! (Short for Miss Pumpkin Spice Latte) You can also call her Miss Spice!

#I spent 10 minutes picking her out omfg #not even exaggerating. I was deciding between this one and one of the last 3 unstuffed PKs #altogether there was only 5 of them left in the store including the 2 stuffed displays #the other one I was looking at had a nearly perfect pumpkin eye patch but less pumpkins overall #and their face wasn't as nice plus the ears were a bit wonky for my taste.#tho it was really hard to tell which would be better while they were unstuffed and flat #in the end I chose Latte because right away she looked to have a sweet face. her ears were nice and she had better patch placement #including a couple full patches on her tail #tbh if I'd had the money I might have bought both because the decision was hard #the bear builder actually asked if I was alright while I concentrated on studying each of those damn cats #I apologized and explained wtf was up with me. she was very understanding #I've always had this quirk where sometimes it'll take forever for me to pick between plushies I really want #especially if they're both the same exact plush. because then I gitta focus harder on finding out which has the better personality #you get what I mean?#anyways this has been a thing for me even as a real little kid #I remember spending and hour-hour and a half almost every time when my dad took me to choose my monthly webkinz #“my monthly webkinz” god that makes me sound so privileged. it was the nicest/best thing my dad could afford to get me because we were poor #he wanted to spoil me as all good fathers do but that was the most he could afford and I was always so grateful and still am! but I digress #anyways I took way too long to pick which kitty would become my Latte #but I'm glad I had the opportunity to choose yet alone to actually see pumpkin kitty irl available for purchase #what do you guys think of her?#stuffed animals #plushies #plushblr #build a bear #BAB #pumpkin kitty

i HAVE to stop looking at shelter cats until i'm moved but BUNNY

#ps having worked in a shelter I want to say #to anyone in a similar situation as OP was 1.5 years ago #OP is right they usually won't put a cat on layaway #but if you have a certain date at which you will be able to adopt in the near future #and you're interested in an animal that has been there for a while #it can be useful to let the shelter know #like they won't reserve the animal for you if someone else wants to adopt right away #but for instance if it's a shelter that has to sometimes make hard decisions about space it can definitely make a difference #knowing that this animal has a potential home lined up for next month or whatever #or on the other hand if the shelter has temp foster placements available #it might make sense to put an animal in foster for a bit if you have someone saying they're going to be checking back for them #since those placements can reduce stress on the animal but also make them less visible to potential forever homes

i am once again crying due to the injustices of the world (a small hiccup in my life)

So, everyone's seen the theory that the dolls in the Doll House are Edwin's old bodies, right? But if you want to break your heart a little more, take a look at the doll placement.

They line the corridors, but there are noticeably more of them in two particular spots.

First up: by the exit door.

This one makes a lot of sense. In disasters, people in a panic find it hard to get through doorways, especially inward-pulling doors, in a rush. It's a dangerous chokepoint for people who are panicking, which Edwin definitely would have been, being chased.

Add that to the fact that there isn't an actual door here. This is a hole in the wall; who's to say if it was even open when Edwin first found it? He might have had to break his way through, initially, which takes time, and time means getting caught.

But that leads us to the second spot, which isn't so obvious.

It's this spot by the window.

There's no cover here. There's nowhere to hide, to make it appealing for a boy seeking safety. There's no door or anything else to slow Edwin down. So why did he die here so often?

If the window was breakable, Edwin would have figured that out early on, so it wasn't that. But he kept coming back here anyway, over and over.

There's only one thing that makes this spot unique.

It has more light than anywhere else in the Doll House.

I propose that he died here, again and again, over seventy long years, doing exactly what he's doing when Charles finds him: seeking what comfort he can in whatever little light is available to him in the depths of hell.

And then Charles comes to get him, and he brings a lantern.

got confirmation from a trainer that they do want me to puppy raise again after iris so that relieves some of my anxiety about everything going on

#still no updates on a new placement for her #but i did mention that i’ll take another dog as soon as one’s available and the trainer said she’ll try to make that happen #it’s gonna be really rough to say goodbye to iris tho whenever that is #but the organization is placing a lot of dogs rn so don’t have a ton of resources at the moment #but hopefully tomorrow when the trainer reaches out to people individually she’ll find someone #bc i don’t want iris to go but i really need a timeline #my fingers are crossed that my next pup will be this adorable 6 month old black lab named kale #bc if he does end up coming to a raiser at my school the timing would work out for me to get him #i’ve gotta be thinking about the next pup to ease the sadness about iris #probably gonna see if any friends of mine want to join me on bringing her to her new raiser once that’s all planned so that i don’t have to #go alone #UGH puppy raising sucks sometimes but i also love doing it
