it just hit me that we haven't actually made a post compiling all of our s2!pixl headcanons yet so here you fuckers go. you wanna be a professional pixposter like we are (god i wish i was getting paid for having hyperfixations on the internet)? follow in my example

sometimes in the middle of a conversation he'll look up and look like he's focusing on something else but carry the convo effortlessly. one time gem asked him what he was looking at and he went "oh, nothing, that cloud back there just really looks like a rabbit" and she turned around and goddamn he was right. haven't made a list of thoughts in a while. thought exorcism time:

i feel like i've told this story a billion times but when i started university i told myself, "okay, that was a fun little summer jaunt writing fic and all, but you gotta chill now and focus on school stuff," and then i just could not do it at all. i'd have a google doc open on my laptop to add a couple sentences to it in the ten minute break between classes. i'd walk around campus thinking about editing this or that sentence. my friend turned to me while we were hanging out yesterday and told me something to the effect of, "i like writing, but i don't think i need to write in the way that you need to write." sometimes i think about what i would do if i had to stop writing for any reason and then i have to sit down for a few minutes. saying this in text i feel like-- a joke character? like how the fuck am i a real person that exists in the world and is like this. it is nevertheless true that i am like this!

so if i were to attempt narrativizing mcsos, there's two directions we could go here. one is to look at what's been produced so far and make a story about that, the other is to consider "if i were asked what sort of plot beats might be fun and interesting to do on this server starting from our current point in time, what would i say?" and the looking back direction i think is just. it's a game. lean into the themes, you know? everything you do is a love letter to the world, and in some ways, the game is the practice run for the love letter you are writing with your life beyond the game. and i also am thinking about that post that's like "minecraft's natural generation feels like an invitation to build on top of it," to smooth out the rough edges and make it look ~more like the thing you are expecting? i like the idea of the universe taking these players and going, "okay, here, for this brief span, inhabit these breakable little bodies and help me build a world with a history. help me make a place that people have been." and it works with the Not Doing Lore because none of the players are strictly Playing Characters, but they have ideas about the sorts of people who would be In This Place. owen's skeletons in the jungle are, yes, literally a place he is living for now, but they are also making someone else's story and putting it into the world, even if we never meet or know about that someone else. pix's massive excavation is a story about people who could pull chunks of the world up into the sky, and this is what pix's story is, but it's also not about him -- he is building a history that didn't happen, or at least didn't happen to him-as-excavator. i think there are ways to tell this story that make it ring true to what the videos give us and still Make It A Story.

another bullet point for the other direction: when the first mcsos videos were posted and people kept making "no lore! ;)" jokes and all the SOS promo material seemed like it was about people in modern day clothes stranded out in a weird magical wilderness, i mentioned to a friend that it would be really fun if what happened was a story about building a world so well it eats you. "we're not doing lore," they say. "it's just a game and we're just going to play it as a game." and it is a game, for a while, and they really aren't trying to tell any story, and then things beyond their control start happening and they become increasingly trapped in this world and they're not telling a story here but a story is demanding to be told anyway. this can also be about the horrors of being a creator, probably.

i do think that in conversation with an empty room and a microphone isn't even nearly as good as some of the stuff that was inspired by it, but i also don't care at all because i'm so fucking pleased that that fic did almost exactly the thing i wanted it to. i get why people are not always on the "all fic is meta" train but this is the train i am on and there is not much more satisfying than knowing that i played in a role in a really really interesting and ongoing Conversation Via Fic. it doesn't matter that i maybe didn't say everything i could have with that fic; other people can and have and will fill in those gaps!! it rules!! it's so cool!! i like this fact a lot. forgive me being sentimental.

Tamalog Day 3

Today i didn't do much, at 6AM i chose to not sleep and just go to work, my dad helped me get the Tamagotchi Pix running and i started my journey through it which i might post my first impressions of it later, but now that we have it, let's welcome it to the Tamalog.

Turning on the Tamagotchi Pix for the first time, i put on my name, my birthday, date and time and all that good stuff we're used to with every Tama device, it asked me to choose my favorite tool, food and a third option that i don't quite remember what it was, then it asked me to take a picture of myself and choose an egg. Egg chosen, i waited for it to hatch while i was on the way to work, and midway it hatched, and hey, another girl, i fed her milk and cookies while taking the time to get to know the system and some of it's features.

7AM rolled by and Picochutchi woke up, i gave her some food, played with her at the Arcade and did some Tama Searching, which granted us more stickers, but no new friends today, which is fine. With Picochutchi fed and happy, i left her to her endeavours and focused on the new kid, which by that time had evolved to Tantotchi, i played a bit of Hula Hoop with her and tried out some of the games at the arcade, which were both 'Rocket' and 'Fruit Fall', since today's theme was Nature. We went exploring a bit, met a few Tamas and also met the 'shop characters', i bought her a Ribbon that sadly she can't wear yet, but at least we got it into our notebook which serves as a Catalogue of things we found.

At 8AM Milktchi woke up and i fed her and petted her, making sure she didn't need much attention later on in the morning, then Picochutchi said she received a message and needed to leave, but i just said no, and after that really cute but kinda heartbreaking animation, she decided to stay with me. With that, i gave her some snacks and took her to the TamaVerse to give some tama friends hearts, we took a look at some displayed outfits and found out a Kuchipachi liked the one we displayed, nice!

After getting some work done, i gave each of them a bath and cleaned their houses, got some colors taking pictures of my phone case and painted a ball red, which was really cute and played some more with Tantotchi to make money. At 11AM i got home, called the Sitter for both Picochutchi and Tantotchi, fed Milktchi and petted her a bit, then put an alarm to 5:30PM to pick them up from their Sitters, which i successfully did, but went right back to sleep only to wake up about 2 hours later.

With 30 minutes left before Tantotchi going to bed, i just made sure she was feeling good and didn't need anything, i didn't want to just have her eat bagels for dinner so i went on her phone and ordered a Marguerita Pizza, which i was surprised didn't get delivered right away so i just went to the restaurant where i ordered some Fried Chicken, and then some time later the pizza got delivered and she ate it right away. I also gave Milktchi some pets and bought her every food available on the shop since i needed to restock, i fed her some Curry and gladly, she loved it, even getting her Fondness meter to max, which honestly makes me very happy.

Sleep time came by for our little friends, Tantotchi just went to sleep right away, and Milktchi (as of every night) said she couldn't fall asleep and asked me for help, which i did, giving her slow pets until she fell asleep. 9:45PM came by and i decided to give Picochutchi some attention before she also goes to sleep, so we went to the arcade and also did some Tama Searching, we got the 5 hearts sticker with one more Tama, which makes it 2 Tamas at 5 hearts already, pretty good if i would say so myself. After that, Picochutchi went to sleep, ending yet another Tama Day. Good Night ₍ᐢ._.ᐢ₎♡ ༘

Im kinda just taking ideas/mechanics from older series and mashing them together somehow. But the soulamtes mechanic is back, and 30 hearts + a gift heart. The soulmates mechanic did make DL really short, so secret life's extra hearts and heart sharing ability can prolong the game a bit more me thinks, even with the like, 10+ extra people. (Like, exmaple, impdubs wouldn't have lost their first life to fall damage if they had 20 extra hearts, so on and so forth...) OH AND there was bad traffic idea post that I really like....(if I do use this idea all credits to you anon for it! Your brain is huge...)

Canary curse is also dead I have killed her. Goodbye I will not miss you

In my head this game doesn't come right after secret life, so all of the extra players have been gradually gathered over time. That also means more winners (which doesn't really mean anything if I disregard the "winners remember" trope. Unless I give them specially amnesia)

Now you might look at the character list and wonder why false is all by herself. Welll that's because something went Wrong, and her soulmate never actually got put in the game. He's stuck in the void (her soulmate was supposed to be pix. They were gonna pair the two newest members off together...)

I got all these teams by random spinner wheel and it honestly made some pretty good ones? Like Katherine and BigB was such a good pairing....I think they could be so silly and menacing and also surprise murders. (Because BigB loves gaslighting and no one's gonna expect Katherine to kill them. She probably played nice in her prior games)

I put fwhip and jimmy together because they've played a few games already and they were enemies everyyy time. It's in their nature. So making them have to ally more or less is funny.

Scott and Etho are just a pair that's interesting in the way the characters are. Normally they could not ever ally but now They Have To and ohh boy. One of them puts up a mask and the other one immediately sees through it. They are in hell.

Gem and Oli are just silly. Like scariest woman around and the silly guy that CAN very much kill you but might also drown in a puddle. Other players definitely don't underestimate Oli but he's also being his normal self and making dumb tunes for everything.

Scar and Skizz are mostly a good vibes team. Neither of them really want to win I think, just not die first. They definitely die to an enderman at some poings and Skizz is so mad about it...

Pearl and Cleo....spinner wheel I love you for this one....not sure how they specifically work as teammates but I think it's better than whatever their double life relationship was. Mainly because Cleo isn't fuleing Pearls insanity but whatever

MOG AND MARTYN. I NEED TO WATCH MORE MOG FOR THIS.....Marytn is absolutely betraying his ass though, soulbond or no soulbond. Martyn also isn't the type of person to go along with the soulbonds anyways so this pair was always a little doomed. (Might make martyn more evil in the fic. As a treat for myself)

Mumbo and impulse....I think they're a pretty healthy soulbond. If impulse hasn't one one of those past games I made up then he REALLY wants to win and Mumbo helping. He brings back the end crystals (and since the game mode isn't wrong theyre actually an issue this time LMAO)

Tbh I just wanted a Jizzie team 💖. Power couple moment. I'll rotate them in my head a bit more but they're absolutely killing people with lava and tnt minecarts

Tango and Shelby is more of random paring bc the wheel had matched everyone else. But they work well! Shelby and her redtsone trap guy and Tango with his teammate who's better at pvp and stuff. They're gonna die horribly but it'll be a fun ride

Bdubs and Sausgae are like....interesting? Because you have devoted Bdubs with Sausage and I feel like Sausage could have a disloyalty streak in life series. He IS prone to villian arcs and such...

I paired Grian and Ren together because they've usually end up as enemies, so them being allies is a fun twist. Also I wanted Ren back <3

(Also just because two people are soulmates doesn't mean they're a Canon ship to the au. I have a whole list of canon ships somewhere. Nature wives is real and Martyn is in a horrible polycule and hes bekng gay over Ren still 💔💔...)

Well, it’s July…

I don’t usually get overly personal or sentimental on here anymore but I wanted to make an exception this time.

This is going to be an appreciation post for my best friend: @demeterdownunder (As well as for everyone I’ve met in the sfw tk community)

I won’t say his actual name for privacy, so in this post I’ll call him Dimitri.

Bring your tissues and your popcorn, this is going to be a long one.

Hey there bud.

I met you over a year ago now. It’s crazy how time flies huh?

When we first crossed paths I was going through hell.

Di (my grandma) had recently passed away, and I was just broken up with by the person who I thought was going to be there for me no matter what.

If it were not for you gathering up the courage on that discord server to ask me if we could be friends, I don’t think we would be talking today.

You didn’t know it yet, but meeting you… it probably saved my life.

We instantly hit it off, calling and texting almost every night. I still remember how nervous you sounded that first time I heard your voice, and the way you exploded with happiness when we worked out that we both lived in Australia.

Finally. Someone else in the community from our own damn country.

As I learned to trust you more, and you let me in, we formed a small group of friends that would become like a second family to us all.

At first it was you, me, @pixliidraws, and @willthelee, but then it grew with @bearlee-giggling, @altheadajoysoul, Pix and Auggie’s partner, @the-gingerbread-lee, and my wonderful girlfriend (happy 4 month anniversary babe!) who’s name I will keep anonymous for privacy reasons. We made a little home together, a chaotic family if you will (roll credits).

These people became my closest friends, my family.

We spent so much time together on call, laughing, playing games, teasing each other, sharing our best and worst days.

We bonded over extreme stress and heartache, an event this time last year that ultimately cemented our friendship.

I won’t go into the details of this as it would we are all processing it in different ways, but I will say that I am glad that I chose these people to stick by, because there is two sides to every story and you shouldn’t let lies on the internet interfere with the real, deep, and posssibly life-long connections you make with those in your community.

Dimitri, you know more than anyone how important it is to ask for help, and to learn to rely upon those around you for support when and if you need it.

Without your support and unconditional love, I would not be the person I am today.

You were there when my whole world was falling apart. You were there when the memories seemed too difficult to bare. You were there to help guide me through, to help me process things that I would have never faced on my own.

When it comes to helping those you care about, you have an unshakable sense of bravery and compassion. You are our rock.

I was there for you too. Staying up with you into the early hours of the morning to talk about everything and anything that was on our minds. Pouring out our hearts to eachother and never shying away from even the most terrifying and depressing subjects.

We knew we needed to be real with eachother, that rather than toxic positivity and conflict avoidance, we needed honesty and tough love to get us through. And above all we needed hope.

We made a promise to eachother one day; that no matter what happens, nothing will ever permanently keep us apart. We promised eachother that one day we would meet up, and that we would be able to hug eachother in real life instead of from over a screen.

And meet up we did… twice.

It was like being reunited with the long lost sibling that you never knew you had.

After getting over the initial shock and poking eachother just to make sure we were real, it just clicked.

Everything felt so natural by your side. We held hands like we had done it a million times before. We explored Sydney and Canberra, walking for hours on end without getting tired. We became closer than we had ever been before.

Leaving was awful. It felt like loosing you all over again. It didn’t feel the same. I wanted to hold your hand and hug you the way I did so many times that week. You became part of me.

It got easier with time. Knowing that you were only a call away, that I could text you and hear your voice whenever I wanted, even if you weren’t there with me physically. I knew you would be by my side again soon. Though it hurt like hell, I knew it was worth it.

You introduced me to a song that I played on repeat whenever I was feeling sad. ‘We’ll meet again’ by Vera Lynn. I think the lyrics speak for themselves.

After the closing of the second time all those months later, we were at peace. We had discovered just how close you can feel to someone, while never doubting for a second it was platonic. It felt safe. If it’s possible to have platonic soulmates then that’s what we are. We were able to love eachother deeply without taking away any romantic love that we had for our respective partners.

If I had to do it all again I would in a heartbeat. And there is no one else I would rather do it with than you.

I am so excited to meet up with you again! To have you stay with me and show you my home town, the place I grew up. Remembering that every time that you have to leave, is one step closer to you never having to leave again.

One day if we choose, we will be able to move in together. To go travelling, and meet all our friends over in America. And to be there for eachother physically whenever we need it.

But for now let’s focus on getting through it one day at a time.

1 more week.

This time next week we will be together already.

You will get to see my family, my cats, my town.

You’ll get to have a break from everything and just breathe.

It’s going to be okay.

It’s all going to be worth it.

While I could keep talking about you forever, I think it’s best I end it off here. There are a million other things I would like to say but I’m sure you know them already.

Dimitri, my brother, my confidant, my best friend.

Thank you for everything. I love you just as much as any younger sister could ever love their older sibling. You mean the whole world to me and that is why i’m writing this, because want the whole internet to know it.

I’m not really sure how to end this properly after all that, honestly the last half an hour writing this has just been a blur. But when have you ever been one for formalities anyway hahah.

I’ll see you when you inevitably come flustered in my DMs 5 minutes after you see this, keyboard smashing in happiness like the dork you are.

I’ll always be here for you mate, and so will the rest of the chaos fam.

Busy Day, So More Past Posting!

I didn't get to play much with Malta and Panther today, just fed and groomed them, as today was... A day.

Development-wise: Neither of the two changed much from yesterday. Aside from being noticeably bigger!

So with nothing new from the drakenz, I'll make this an archive post of some past pix I've taken!

I was already keeping note of the development of "evolving" petz at this time, and I mean really taking note of things! Like how Blaze's tail got a little weird as he started growing the signature imp's tail of a proper Houndoom!

After everybody was fed it was time to play! According to the first pic, I may not have intended to send out two pairs at once but somebody may have come out of the case on their own. So... Why not? One big playdate for everybody!

Spamton wound up stealing the show for the most part, what with figuring out his crazy personality and how everything spooked him, on top of how jealous he gets over me petting anyone else! And yet, it didn't mean he couldn't make friends, he got a bit sad when I accidentally dropped Crystal the Furfrou into the case. Sorry!

All was fine, after a bit of dress-up for the doggoz, I took everybody over to the Haunted Ma- Wait, did I give BigWingz a freakin' knife?... lol Spamton NEO fight but he has a knife

Now here is where I admit I used PetzA to speed up their aging. They had grown from puppiez and kittenz to "adults" but... They dogz still made puppy barks and I didn't really want to breed what felt like teenagers to me. Even from this way back I didn't feel it right to breed petz with an Age value younger than 50!

And so, with a clearer conscious, I put Blaze and Crystal together and enacted Pokemon Infinite Fusions before that game was even released! Gotta say, Calavera turned out the most interesting. Also didn't know at the time that Blaze's blue color does *not* pass down via breeding. Oh well! They still had adorable puppiez!

And thanks to PetzA, Papa Blaze can be with his mate and kids! No avoiding child support for you! Endearingly, Blaze and Crystal were still very lovey-dovey towards each other!

And while the new parents were busy tending to their newborns, Spamton and BigWingz were off on an adventure. Which turned into a beach day.

By the next day I had Blaze return to the Nursery with Crystal and his pupz, where he proceeded to nap for the most part. Crystal was certainly more attentive, very wholesome to have been here at the time seeing Mama Crystal being maternal.

Spamton and BigWingz, on the other hand, stayed at home in the Family Room that day to relax after their adventure... Or, at least BigWingz was trying to relax. Here we have a much smaller Spamton pinning and attempting to play with BigWingz like he caught a mouse! Cheeky little [$!$$]!

From this point, the litter grew big enough to start walking and running on their own! This was also the point I started noting differences in behavior between infant pupz and older pupz, mainly that younger pupz are not as playful as they will be later and they really like sniffing the carrying case.

Oh, and we have the parents being very affectionate in front of their young daughter. Lucky for dogz they can't get embarrassed over their parents getting mushy in plain sight!

I also brought the Spammy Boiz over to the shop since I started experimenting with the Music Box, primarily with replacing the music it plays and swapped it out for a completely Deltarune themed set of tunes. Here is when I learned both Spamton and BigWingz love to dance! I also made the playlist before I discovered somebody else already made plenty of tracks available for everyone!

While Crystal had one more day with the puppiez, the Spammy Boiz decided to take Blaze out with them on their return to the beach. Not mentioned earlier, but they got to meet Peg again, who at this point was turning into a family friend!

It seemed Blaze was more than ready to let loose during his time away from the Fusemon!

Speaking of the Fusemon, I decided to paint the three of them just to see "what could have been". Now that I know how to brex, I'm kind of considering brexing Calavera to be blue since... The brown was kind of random. I'll see what I do later, for now my focus is Panther and Malta!

And, as one last pic for the album, I end it off on the splendor that is: DERPY SNEO!

Like a TOH rewrite with Empires Season Two Cast but it’s written from my memory (warning for massive spoilers)

My Favorite Game: Tumble Town

Scott looked at Jimmy and his jaw dropped. “No way!” he laughed. “You look like that bully who put me in here!”

Jimmy blinked. He had several questions about that, but refrained. “Look, just… How do I get you out of this? Do you need my blood or something…?”

The colorful man in the mirror laughed at him again. “No, silly!” He held up his pinky, smiling far too wide to be normal. “I just need you to promise.”

Jimmy swallowed, looking from his finger to the fight above. His friends were most definitely losing. They were strong, but there was no argument that Oli was stronger.

He sighed and reach out. “Fine.”

Joel tackled Lizzie out of the way of falling rubble. Oli was furious, and there seemed to be no stoping him. He stood in front of her, blocking Oli’s attack, breathing heavily. If he died protecting her, well… At least he was good for something.

But the stack never came. Oli stopped just in front of him, frowning. “Joel, why are you doing this?” he asked, sounding hurt. It made him hesitant for a moment. “I did this for you! For our family!”

He whimpered and flinched away, tears in his eyes. “Y-you’re lying!” he shouted. He held Popcorn in front of him, as if he’d protect him.

It only made the situation worse. Oli’s eye caught the staff and he growled, lifting a clawed hand to swipe at him. “C̵̣͎͗̈́a̴̦͑͝l̴͚̝̏l̸̮̑ư̶̺͚̐m̶̖̳̌!̶͇͗”

Lizzie, Pix, Fwhip, and Sausage all crowded over to him, as if they could block the attack if they stuck together. Joel looked down, trembling as he held his friends and awaited his death.

But, once again, it never came. They slowly looked up to see what looked to be a man dressed as a jester holding Oli’s claw-like-blade with two fingers. His eyes were two colored, one yellow on blue.

“What’re ya playin’?” he asked, head tilted to the side with a sharp, lopsided grin.

Oli took a step back, the jester never letting his arm go. “S-Smajor,” he stammered. His smile fell and he turned to face him, his two-toned eyes piercing through his soul. “You’re free! Just… as promised!”

“As promised?!” there was a small hint of laughter in his voice. He rolled his eyes. “Yeah, I remember someone throwing me off a bridge.” He grinned again. “I’m not angry, though! Say, wanna play tag?”

He twirled his finger and Oli was dragged towards him like a fish on a hook. His eyes twinkled as he grabbed the front of his shirt. “I’m it.”

Then, with no effort at all, he head butt him, sending him flying across the hall and into a wall. Joel felt sick as he watched his ex-best friend turn to mush in front of him. From the frozen state of the people around him, he’d say they were no better than he was.

Then, he turned around to face them. “You guys look slow too,” he said. There was a hint of a threat that Joel did not like. “Do you need a head start?”

They all collectively flinched back when Jimmy ran in between them all. “Woah! Woah, Scott!”

The jester—Scott—grinned and pulled Jimmy into a hug. “Jimmy!”

The Sheriff laughed nervously. “You need to cancel the curse!” he said. “O-or we can’t play Tumble Town!”

He glanced behind him at the others. Sausage, bless his heart, picked it up immediately and grinned. “T-Tumble Town?” he echoed. “Goodness, I love that game!“

Fwhip laughed nervously. “The memories last a lifetime!”

“I play it everyday!” Lizzie chimed in.

“I play it every hour!” Pix added, forcing a smile.

Joel swallowed his pain and nodded, also grinning—though it looked more like a grimace. “Mmhmm!”

Scott hummed and walked over, looking out over the land through the empty eye socket of the Titan Skull. He seemed to be deep in thought before he grinned. “Okay!” He lifted a finger and snapped.

Joel felt ten times better. He curse blocking his magic leaving his system felt like drink cold water after going weeks without drinking anything. He looked up at Scott, blinking dumbly.

The jester suddenly smiled. “Y’know, if we’re gonna play Tumble Town… we’re gonna need the right setting!”

Just as they all stood to their feet, the whole skull started to tear itself apart. They shouted and clung to each other, stumbling time gain their footing. Sausage looked up, the portal was still open.

“The portal!” he cried. “Get to the portal!”

They all made a mad dash for it. Joel stopped just short of the puddle of shit that used to be his best friend. He felt sickness rise up in his stomach.

“Joel!”

He looked up. Lizzie had her hand outstretched t him. He took a deep breath and ran through it, ignoring how it squished under his boots or how it dripped onto his back.

Fwhip reached out and opened the door, flinging it open. It was pouring rain on the other side. Pix started to push them through. “It doesn’t melt you!” he shouted. “Go go go!”

They all ran through. Fwhip was halfway through before he turned back. Sausage was using up every plant glyph he had, keeping the portal held together. Jimmy stood by his side, holding onto his hat in the blowing wind.

Sausage looked up and met his eyes, smiling sadly. “Go! I’ll hold the portal for you!”

He ran down, grabbing his wrist. “I’m not leaving without you!”

He frowned. “And I’m not leaving with Jimmy. Go, you’ll be safe there.”

Jimmy looked from the arguing couple to the jester, who had just taken notice of their escape. Scott turned around and met his eyes, a look of hurt and betrayal on his face.

“Jimmy!” he yelled. He snapped his fingers and suddenly he was being lifted into the air. “You said you’d play with me!”

Sausage gasped and grabbed Jimmy’s hand. “No! Jim, please! Go with Fwhip! Stay safe!”

Jimmy blinked back tears and let his hat blow away, using his now free hand to wipe away Sausage‘s tears. He pulled his hand away and grabbed the badge from his chest, offering it to him.

“I think it’s about time I retire,” he said softly. “You’re the sheriff now, pal.”

Sausage’s eyes widened. “Jimmy, don’t you dare let go!” he begged. “Please!”

“I’m sorry,” he whispered.

He let his hand go, letting Scott pull him away. Sausage cried out, going to chase after him, but Fwhip dragged him through the crumbling portal.

“Jimmy!” he wailed.

But it was too late. They had made it through. The door was shut. The portal had closed. Sausage was back home.

And, surprisingly, Pix was the only one who cried.

Ship ask game: Loki/Tony, Tony/Bucky, Bucky/Loki.

Loki/Tony - Ship it

1. So, when Avengers came out I was on Twitter A LOT. I followed a lot of fellow Marvel fans and discovered the exciting world of Twitter RP. I started following a bunch of Tony Stark and Loki accounts (among others, but they were my fave characters after Avengers. Also shout out to Loki-Motion and Ant-Man!! I miss you.). One Tony Stark I followed was named @_Chaotique, and he was partnered with a Loki (can’t remember the name). Following their “romance” made me start shipping Frostiron and I went looking for more Frostiron stuff. By August (Avengers came out in April), I was writing my first Frostiron fanfic and my phone was full of Frostiron pix and edits. I was obsessed! Fun fact: I still am. Lol. Plus, I started talking to the writer of Chaotique through PMs, we struck up a friendship, were a couple for nearly four years, and he remains one of my closest friends today.

2. Obviously the whole enemies to lovers thing is always fun, but when people ask why I ship it I always point out how Tony and Loki have a similar story that just took different paths. They both have daddy issues and sense of self issues. Tony struggles with living in the shadow of his father, Loki struggles with living in the shadow of his “golden child” brother. They’re both super intellectual, sarcastic, and witty (the verbal battles omg), and there’s a lot to explore with them together and separately regarding the masks they wear with everyone and the front they put on, and the amount of vulnerability underneath.

3. Idk if it counts as an unpopular opinion, but I’m not a fan of fics that make Loki out to be weak-willed and kind of a simp. The characterizations that make him this person that constantly needs to be rescued whether by Tony or Thor really miss the mark for me. Yes, he can be blind to his faults and his flaws, but he doesn’t need someone else to baby him.

Tony/Bucky - Ship it

1. I don't even know what got me started on this ship. I don’t think it was until Civil War that I started and I’m pretty sure it was fanart that got me started. I haven’t read much fanfic, just little snippets of stuff on Tumblr, and my venture into RPing them was very short. It’s a very minor ship for me but one I totally want to get into more and write fic on it (I do have a Security Guard AU I’m working on for these boys tho).

2. Like I said, I haven’t delved too deeply into this ship just yet. So, so far the only thing I really like about it is it’s two of my favorite characters and two of my favorite male actors being paired together.

3. No, not really.

Bucky/Loki - Ship it

1. Um...I love villains. And don't give me the “Bucky is not a villain blah blah blah.” Yeah, I know. But for the majority of CATWS, yes he was! And I was shipping and writing Winterfrost before that movie came out. The writer of Chaotique created a Winter Soldier to RP in summer 2013 and I created a post-Avengers/pre-Dark World Loki to pair with him. There’s something very intriguing about two dark souls finding each other and simultaneously healing each other while also lowkey (haha) indulging in their dark sides. Like, we literally wrote a scene about a discussion and comparison of knives turning into some hot sex. But also, when it came to our RP at least, there was a lot to be explored with Loki, an anti-hero who has come to terms with his issues and is already on his journey to healing, helping Bucky, arguably an antihero himself who is just starting to come to terms with his trauma. Not unlike Frostiron, Loki and Bucky have an understanding of what each has been through and there’s a bond there.

2. Like I said, I like villains. I like darkness. I like unconventional love stories. Winterfrost is full of that. There is an underlying darkness to the Winterfrost relationship that could be explored. I wrote a fic, one of my first Winterfrost ones, called Can I Bum A Ride? which was basically porn with some plot (and written off a prompt from a Tumblr friend). The story is basically Loki picks up hitchhiker Bucky in a downpour, they stop at a motel for the night (*gasp* there’s only one bed!), and get it on. There was a moment where I considered writing a sequel that found them going down a not-so-wholesome path. Like, a path that pretty much turned them into road-tripping serial killers. For various reasons I didn’t, but I feel like they are two characters that lend themselves pretty easily to that dynamic.

3. Not really. It would be the same as the Loki/Tony one. But that’s really more a complaint about how people write Loki than anything else. And that’s just my opinion! I don’t comment on people’s fics just to tell them they suck at writing Loki or anything. Everyone is allowed their own interpretation -- I’m sure I’ve written something in a way people didn’t like. In fact, I *know* I have bc they actually did comment. If I don’t like it, I hit that back button and find something else to read. Easy peasy.

Here we go with the next part! I really hope we get some major big plot twist at some point, because it's all really cool but I need something to really change from good to GREAT

For now, let's focus on the next episodes!

It's the 17th of April and here we go!

GENERAL

I feel like there's little time to really pull up something, I don't know. Like, what plot twist could happen now that there just half season left with only Unagami/Dyer's identity and maybe Scott's past as mysteries? There's little space for more plotlines, that's what I think

Overall fighting scenes, character designs and game backgrounds are AWESOME!!

Let's see how it goes, maybe I'll be surprised. Wouldn't be weird for Ninjago to pull a bomb last episode 😅

ONE STEP FORWARD, TWO STEPS BACK

ZANE AND PIXAL FINALLY!!! IT'S DETECTIVE TIME!!! 😎

Okay, so there is a photo, and there is a friend. As I thought, Dyer might not be Unagami at all, I feel like there's a lot of backstory coming along. I wonder if Scott has a part in this... WHERE IS SCOTT 💙

NEVER MIND I LOVE IT 😍😍🔥🔥 I thought him being blonde was going to bother me, I actually kinda like the change. Still prefer my baby brunette, but it's really cool as well. The best of this season are definitely the characters designs

Was that "let's fight an ogre mission" a hint for next season? I wouldn't be weird, but it's been a while since I've seen forshadowing for new season in this show

HECK YEAH THE DANCING EPISODE!!! I was waiting for this, Jaya is so cute while they are on the dancefloor 😍 They have chemistry 😘😘😘

I like the implication that Nya was really bad at dancing before Jay, like Kai covering his eyes because he cannot handle her sister not being perfect at something 😛

And Cole being the dance expert, that little tango moment with Kai I bet made many lavashippers super happy 🖤❤🖤❤

THE TRIPLE TIGER SASHAY ALL THE WAY FROM SEASON 1-2 ABSOLUTELY YES YES YES!!! AND HE DIDN'T ROAR, HE STRAIGHT UP SAID "NO ONE PUTS COLE IN A CORNER" I'M DYING!!! With this and Nya's 'catch me', I expect so many Dirty Dancing AUs from this 😂👌

RACER SEVEN

SCOTT IS BACK YES!!! 😍😍😍💙💙💙

Okay, I think my theory won't happen 😅 Feels like there are not enough episodes for a good reveal, and it doesn't seem like Scott is that influenced by Jay. My last idea is that perhaps he has spent so much time in the game like Jay said (POOR BABY 😭) that he doesn't remember. Maybe the moment he will come back, we will find out that it is Jay's brother/twin, I mean he still has those dragon and lightnings drawing on his back... yeah I like this theory a lot, gonna hold on to it!

So Scott is indeed a person trapped in a game, at least that's confirmed 👍

Also he's got some major issues, the poor thing, and I think there is some special reason behind him not wanting to race besides having just one life.

HERE IT COMES

OH MY GARMADON 😂😂😂 Okay, okay, it's actually better than I expected really. The scarf is cool, and so are the golden tattoos, the suit and the golden sleeve. It's just the mohawk that will take time to get used to, it's not even bad, just weird 🤷��♀️

Racer Seven is so cool! Always nice seeing a new female character in this show that is not a love interest. I do love Nya, Pix and Sky to death, but I love variety too 💪

Really, really nice the piece of all Racer Seven's crashes! Impactful and sad, a never ending loop that she wants to break through from. That's the heavy stuff I like!

Okay, ready for the race! And I'm... scared? Like, a lot of they guys have one life?? KAI HAS ONE LIFE?? 😱😱 I hope for the best I guess 😅

THE SPEEDWAY FIVE-BILLION

Might be my favorite episode yet

Seven is SO COOL, it's another reason why I'm sad these episodes are so short! I really would had liked see her more, truly have her bond with the guys

Soooo... I guess since Scott's been in the game for 30 years it's safe to assume he's not Jay's brother/twin. To be fair it's really hard to tell a LEGO person's age😅 At this point I guess he could be either Dyer's friend, even if it sounds unlikely, or... idk, still think he could have a connection with Jay. Maybe he's like... an older brother? Libber had him a long while ago?

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! WHY DID SCOTT HAVE TO DIEEEEEEEE??? 😭😭😭 Just when he was getting more involved, come on! He even said he wanted to try that hero stuff, I love him! WE WILL SAVE YOU MY TECH BABY!!!

I so, so enjoyed how they did it. Like, one look between them to realize that yes, this is it, Jay is the expert and needs to go on. This is the end of our race... AAAHHH!! (Infinite shipping potential too)

Omg Nya screaming her brother's name and Jay his best friend's name, while Lloyd looks so devastated (those masks are actually kinda espressive, I really like them). Wow. This is the angst I needed, finally👌

YES SEVEN WON!!! HECK YEAH GIRL!!! SO HAPPY FOR HER!!! Also Okino in the background being happy, nice touch!

And now they are three... it's gonna end up with only Jay huh. I... I'm not ready actually, my heart 😢 They better all hug when this is all over!!!

Oh finally the backstory of Unagami I'm really curious about what happened in the past and what exactly brought the shut down of Prime Emp-

I LITERALLY CARE ABOUT NOTHING ELSE BUT THIS BEAUTIFUL GAMER BOY IN REAL LIFE!!! 😍😍😍😍😍

So Scott was the first beta tester, Milton asked Unagami to make the experience as exciting as possible, and that ended very badly so the game was shut down and THEY LEFT HIM INSIDE FULLY KNOWING HE WAS THERE??? I HATE DYER NOW!!!

Although it is really interesting knowing a tech genius like him, until now we got Dr. Julien and Cyrus Borg that were plenty open about the idea of AI with feelings as meaningful as humans'. While he doesn't get that, they are only machines for him and that's the reason why he doesn't understand how much Unagami is mad and filled with need for revenge.

This is why I want more than 11 minutes, the themes of this season are really, REALLY cool. I would have loved more introspection and development.

I guess Scott being Jay's brother is officially debunked 😅 Although I am curious about the life he left behind, since he was stuck in that game for 30 years. He still has those lightnings on the jacket I don't understand...

DON'T YOU DARE LET ZANE BE DESTROYED AGAIN PLEASE I STILL CRY WATCHING "THE TITANIUM NINJA"!!! 😢😢😢😢😢😢

The portal is open, Zane might get destroyed, Unagami wants revenge, Jay and Nya are the only one left and I'm pretty sure Nya will be killed as well leaving only Bluebell so there's THAT. So yeah, this is actually pretty cool!

THE TEMPLE OF MADNESS

This felt a little simple if I'm gonna be honest. I felt like the last mission before facing Unagami was a little basic, with nothing really exciting. Still liked it, but this is probably my least favorite episode 🤷‍♀️

Of course, put Jay is a sushi restaurant-themed level and he will kill you with puns 😂 I love this prankster

Again, the fighting scenes are dope. Definitely one of my favorite things since they changed the animation. You lose something you win something 😙

Wooo, Jay saying that he had trained for years just for kick his butt was actually cool! Bluebell is unleashing!

"And that's how we roll!". You rock we roll, am I right 😂

Jay taking charge is quite rare and when it happens you know things are about to get crazy 😂 It was really nice seeing how sensible he could be, telling that Unagami wasn't evil after all, that he needed closure and answers

I know I miss the animation peak we reached with SoG and Hunted, but I gotta say the atmosphere of the city with the lightnings and the gray sky was really awesome. Very cool.

Pff, that part with the elevator though, reminds me of the one in season 1 that made me start watch Ninjago ✌ Also it's always Borg's Tower indeed 😂

OKINO KICKING BUTTS HECK YEAH LOOK AT OUR RONIN GO!!!

And wow. WOW. I didn't expect Jay to drop the I'm adopted bomb on us, I think I never heard him talk about it since Skybound (that technically never happened so 😅). It was SO good seeing him sympathize with Unagami because he was also left with no explaination. His desire to know, along with the hope that the past is the past, but they had a good reason for. Also he freaking said he didn't have the chance to ask because Cliff is dead and I 😭😭😭😭

And here I melted, because we finally see the situation for what truly is, the way Jay also sees it: Unagami is a kid, a child that doesn't understand how the world works, that just wants to make his father proud but got rejected instead. The confrontation was actually touching, I really wish we had more time for that. Even a little resistance from Unagami, another fight, and a finally reconcilliation with Dyer.

MY NINJA BABIES ARE BACK I MISSED YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!! ❤💚💙🖤💦💎

Okay, very nice to see Seven and Okino out there and deciding to live their lives in Ninjago, nice to see some others like the rats going back to Prime Empire. As Unagami said, he gave them a choice, it's up to them at this point

But I'm sorry, WHY ARE WE NOT GOING TO TALK WITH SCOTT??? That guy's been trapped inside the game the longest, not even a "Hey bud, you're alive, cool cool"? I know I've been overbearing about how much I love Scott, especially since I had all those theories about him (still don't know why he has lightnings on his jacket and hat, is it just a style thing? Idk), but come on! Well I guess if he's happy I am 🤷‍♀️

Is that his girlfriend or something? After 30 years? Or maybe she got trapped with him a while later? Or maybe that's his... mom? Look, we all know determine the age of LEGO characters is hard, give me a break please 😅😅

Overall, very nice ending, it brought everything together quite nicely. I'm satisfied, yes!! 💜💜

FINAL THOUGHTS

As I said, the episodes' lenght I really think gets in the way of making this an excellent season. There is so much that could be explored more, the choice matter, all the amazing characters, and the AI feelings stuff from the latest episodes. There is room for more, I wished we got that

The characters though were really amazing. Between Scott, Okino, Seven and Unagami himself, there were very different personalities with very different dreams and thoughts, that made this ride much more interesting

Fighting animation was 👌👌👌

Comebacks from past seasons were 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌

Maybe it didn't really focused on Jay as much until the end? Yeah it was about him, but we got to see his sensibility and his past only last episode. He loves Nya, he likes videogames, of course but there's more about him than meets the eye! Wished we saw that, but in general it was nice seeing him first line again 💙

I liked this season. It has flaws, but I enjoyed many parts and at the end I was left satisfied 👍

Just... wasn't Jillian supposed to be in this? Or is it next season? She said a mom was going to come back, I took for granted it was going to be Edna. I'm curious about next season now... FINALLY A COLE SEASON EVERYONE!!! 🖤🖤🖤

WELL friendos, it looks like it’s gonna be a stressful week. I did a little think last night to de-stress myself, so I figured I’d share it here with y’all as well; maybe it’ll be fun for you to look at too.

It's been a while since I've documented The Plush Hoard, so I went through it this evening!

A few notes before we begin!

-Before the "but where do YOU sleep" comments come in - I move them around when I sleep lol. The vast majority of my plushies are up on my top bunk nowadays (which u purposefully cannot see because after I was done taking pictures I just started tossing em up there and didn't feel like making them look nice jskdhgf;;; ) - I only keep my very favorites with me. Every time I blog about my plushies I get that comment and it's not funny anymore ;; -I am not a collector that keeps my plushies on shelves or behind glass cases; one of the primary reasons I love collecting plushies is because I love soft textures, so I love hugging and cuddling with them. So some of them are pretty beat up at this point! I also have a cat and if you have a cat, you know cat hair Everywhere is just a fact of life, so if you happen to see any...sorry! I think I'm remembering that name right: Renamon's in-training form, the yellow fox blob sdjfgdfg) are bootlegs I am very sorry ;;; My Digimon Plush Goal is to somehow find an official Culumon someday TAT;;; I rlly like Culumon there was a period of time in elementary school where I drew nothing but Culumon so lol. 

Random fandom plushies! Lessee, what's represented here...Sanrio, Hamtaro, Madoka, Heartcatch Precure, Higurashi, OneShot, Made in Abyss, Re:Zero, Undertale, and Deltarune! OK HERE WE GO: most of my plushies are Pokemon plushies. What can I say...they're just so much fun to collect TAT;;; first up are a couple groups of miscellaneous babbies; you will soon see I like collecting some Pokes over others...

When I lived with my parents still, that Riolu was Joji's favorite plushie to steal |D;; she would semi-regularly come into my room and take plushies from me, but that one she took far more often than any other. She's such a small dog no damage was ever done, but still...Joji these are mine, not yours!

okay I saw a post on here a while ago and someone rated the Poptropica islands. I remember agreeing with a lot of them, but they only went so far so a lot of the newer islands were missed out. I came across it again recently and got hit by a wave of nostalgia so I’m gonna do my own now. Unoriginal content very good. i’ll put a keep reading link to stop it from taking up too much space

Early Poptropica - mega nostalgia but kinda boring. I like the original Poptropicans being pixely and there is a goth gf in the sewers however the giant green spider scared the shit out of me as a kid and the idea of an aircraft graveyard made me sad so 6/10

Shark Tooth Island - also nostalgic but I didn’t complete it for a long time for some reason.. very short. it has a story but its there is nasty shark and people stuck on an island so make a calming potion. the medicine man looks like he is from viva pinata so 6/10

Time Tangled Island - VERY GOOD AND FUN AND HISTORICAL FUCK THAT AZTEC THO DICKHEAD. quite lengthy for an island but this is good because that means more time periods to explore. it’s also educational but i just care about restoring time. very legendary the iconic just jumped out - 10/10

24 Carrot Island - stupid pun point taken off. introduces Dr Hare and people are THIRSTY. you can dye your hair with milkshakes. i thought it was creepy as a kid honestly. i think its mind control or something. but i like it, it still has nostalgia value 8/10

Super Power Island - very legend like. i loooove the antagonists, especially copy cat but i think i had to look up a guide to beat her because i was dumb af. you need a licence to be a superhero but you are a superhero!!! very fun i like this one a lot 10/10

Spy Island - i remember sucking at this one as well as a kid.  i think it fucks with peoples hair and i only remember because my character looks fresh 100% of the time and this island fucked it up i think. i don't really remember it tho. 5/10

Nabooti Island - it’s based on a Choose Your Own Adventure book so good premise. go around the world is also good. you have to get jewels i think. ngl i didn’t finish this one because i sucked at it so i’m just going off the wiki and how far i got into it. fuck the animal puzzle 7/10

Big Nate Island - who the fuck is Big Nate. i only remember the school climbing frame and a stink bomb. fuck you big nate we don’t have your comics in England 1/10

Astro-Knights Island - medieval knights.... IN SPACE?!?! COUNT ME IN. crazy jester bard guy antagonist. people are thirsty for him too. i’m pretty sure you end up in another dimension or something. cyborgs and shit 9/10

Counterfeit Island - bruh i loved this island. pretty sure antagonist is also making people thirsty. you have to go back to Early Poptropica Island to complete it, very cool. investigating crime is cool idea it’s l.a. noire in poptropica. the wiki says there is a glitch called anti-social clown and i have to say relatable 9/10

Reality TV Island - i think i completed this like twice and i remember jackshit. you get to see past characters tho so very good. it’s just doing challenges. 4/10

Mythology Island - VERY GOOD. LEARN ABOUT MYTHOLOGY. you can fight hydra and other creatures, you meet Zeus you meet Hades, Aphrodite is a bitch. 9/10

Skullduggery Island - pirates are always good no matter what. apparently it is one of the hardest islands which explains why i never completed it but you fight other pirates and sea monsters for doubloons or some shit sounds cool to me 8/10

Steamworks Island - steampunk is good. i remember completing this and thinking it was interesting and weird to look at. i think the atmosphere is was lonely tho. there’s a boss battle against a plant i think. otherwise i don’t fuckin remember 7/10

Great Pumpkin Island - it’s Peanuts so it’s nice. very nice and simple. it’s just about the great pumpkin except you’re there. 6/10

Cryptids Island - GOD TIER. CRYPTIDS IS SUCH A GOOD IDEA. some of it is scary tho. the jersey devil just fucking staring at you from the window was a shit the bed moment for a kids game. also before the islands got rebooted, it was one of the only islands to have sound effects, i.e. when the chupacabra bursts out the box. honestly because of the balls on this kids game to scare children and also being good island 10/10

Wild West Island - the only thing better than pirates is cowboys. i don’t really remember it but you do go against an outlaw gang. i like cowboys 10/10

Wimpy Wonderland Island - Jeff I know you made doawk and poptropica but did you have to show it. ngl i liked it because i like doawk. but it’s kinda... creatively bankrupt i guess. 3/10 2 points because Rodrick is there

Red Dragon Island - i think more time travel but just to old Japan. you have to save a girl. that’s all i remember. also i think there is a nasty samurai guy. but also evil dragon. i can’t remember because for the longest time this was a premium account only island so i never got to finish it for the longest time. that was a dick move 7/10 for that alone.

Shrink Ray Island - cool premise but this island expects me to learn morse code 3/10

Mystery Train Island - detectives? on a train? very nice. basically murder on the orient express except no murder and thomas edison is there and also various other 1700/1800 nerds

Game Show Island - basically Reality TV except it’s to save the world from robots. 5/10

Ghost Story Island - wow iconic. this is the only island with voice acting and it’s to fucking jumpscare you i shat myself.  ghost hunting, very cool 10/10

S.O.S Island - it’s basically Titanic mixed with Moby Dick. it’s ok 6/10

Vampire’s Curse Island - i reaaaally like this one. i like vampires. it has a vampire daddy in it so. he kidnaps a teenage girl tho because he thinks its the love of his life who is dead. kinda weird. he does stop being insane at the end tho and says sorry and dies. the girls bf is a dickhead tho. 9/10

Twisted Thicket Island - i think you’re saving a forest from becoming housing. i really like it because it introduces various folkloric creatures like the nokken. i only remember the nokken because i went on akinator to see if he knew what it was and i don’t think he did so i added it and it’s photo to his database. or maybe it was just his photo but i remember uploading something to akinator. 8/10

The Moondawn Celebration

Veigar rolled his eyes. “I don’t really want to help. It all sounds ridiculous.” he groaned.

“Veigar, didn’t Lulu ask you to help out with the festival? This is a big deal for her, and most of our kind.” Tristana asked.

“Yeah, she did.” he responded. “Doesn’t mean I have to do it. I may consider her family, but that doesn’t mean I have to take part in everything she asks of me.”

Tristana sighed. “Give it a chance. Who knows, you may even have fun!”

“Fine.” he said, giving up on the thought of trying to get out of this.

“Good.” she said while smirking. “You can help Rumble and I set up the plaza for the event.”

You see, the end of the harvesting season was nearing in Bandle City. Yordles have had a rather bountiful harvest, and were ready to face the harshness of the coming cold season. Before the cold season begins though, the biggest night of their year happens, and yordles celebrate it. This night is known as Moondawn.

Moondawn is a night near the very end of the harvest season. On this night the moonlight turns a shining silver, and feels incredibly warm, almost as warm as the golden sun, and touches the ground all over the spirit realm, blessing the land and causing one last growth to the crops all around.

Yordles celebrated this night by honoring the moon, designing banners to hang around the villages, making tons of food and baked goods they name after the event, and letting off fireworks at the end of the night. 

And this year will be Veigar’s first time witnessing Moondawn since he was a young yordle. The way Lulu had described it to him made it sound like something she had made up rather than a serious thing, but the entire village had been talking excitedly about it, and now he was practically forced to participate in the festival.

The day of the festival came fast. It was an absolutely beautiful day in Bandle City. The sunlight was golden, forest frogs were croaking a song, and rainbow fish were splashing around the gilded river. Even some Glade protectors were gently fluttering by the villages, waving their little paws to greet the yordles below.

 Veigar had been making his to the plaza to help set everything up. He made sure to take as convoluted of a path possible, mostly to delay the inevitable. He hated celebrations, absolutely despised them. In fact, he hated them so much he would ruin celebrations back in Boleham just to watch the despair, fear and panic in everyone.

‘I hope this thing doesn’t last long.’ he thought to himself, while kicking a rock into the gilded river, scaring off some of the rainbow fish that were splashing around the bank of the river.

“It’s not fair.” he scowled. “Why is it when they don’t want to participate in something, they don’t have to. When I don’t want to participate in something I get forced into it in some way.”

At this point he was more so stomping his way towards the plaza, still taking the long, convoluted path. Being forced into all these events made him think. He loved being in Bandle City and having a place to call home, but he wasn’t big on all these events that yordles had. In a way, it made him miss the secluded life back in Boleham in a way.

“I don’t have to show up and help.” he mumbled to himself. “I’ll go to the tavern until sundown. Then I won’t have to help set the event up.”

He made his way towards the Dewdrop Tavern on the edge of the plaza. He sneaked his way around the back of most buildings to avoid Tristana’s eyesight.

Veigar had noticed Lulu walking towards the main plaza, with Pix sitting on her hat with a bored expression on his face. She seemed to be carrying a container filled with cupcakes she had made for the festival tonight, and she looked quite happy about them. While he was tempted to blow his cover to say hello to her, he thought it better to continue his way to the tavern and hide.

He arrived at the tavern at midday. The tavern was mostly empty, aside from the bartender, which was perfect for Veigar. It was peaceful, quiet and he would spend his time in the backroom reading texts on ancient magic until the day was over.

Over at the main plaza of Bandle City, yordles were bustling to get everything prepared for the big night. Tristana and Rumble were hanging banners, Ziggs was counting up the fireworks, and Lulu was placing out all the baked goods on a table. It was looking like preparations for the festival were going well.

Lulu had been looking all around the plaza for Veigar. She was really excited to show Veigar how exciting the Moondawn Festival was.

“You did ask him to come help, right?” Lulu asked Tristana.

“I did, Lulu. I don’t know if he forgot or what, but I hope he shows up for your sake” Tristana replied.

“I hope so too..” Lulu whispered.

The day had gone by fast with how busy everyone was kept. Over at the Dewdrop Tavern, Veigar was dozing off and struggling to keep awake. Looking over at the clock mounted on the wall, he realized he had stayed much longer than he meant to. He stood up and went outside. The sun was setting, and night was fast approaching.

Veigar made his way towards the plaza, his nose twitching from the smell of all the fresh baked goods in the air. It was an overwhelmingly sweet smell, and he didn’t know if he liked it, or hated it. Banners showing yordles dancing under the moon, crops growing in size, and detailed pictures of the moonlight touching the ground of Bandle and its surrounding area were strung all over the village. Many of the yordles were dancing, singing and drinking Mistberry Wine in celebration. Even creatures from the local Bandle woods were gathering for the event, perching on posts or rooftops.

This surprised Veigar. ‘This event really is that big of a deal here?’ he asked himself.

He scanned the plaza, looking around for Lulu. He saw she was sitting alone behind the bulletin board. It wasn’t like her to not celebrate things like this, especially when she makes a big deal of them and hypes them up. This concerned him, to see his friend down.

“Lulu?” he asked.

Lulu jumped, she wasn’t expecting anyone to come over and bother her. “Veigar?” she wiped tears away from her eyes.

Veigar sat down next to her. “You were really excited about this event. Why aren’t you over there celebrating with the rest of the yordles?”

“I wanted to celebrate it with you.” she replied somberly. “I never felt too welcome during these festivals. Most other kids think I’m weird, and Trist usually spends the night with Rumble. I thought I could celebrate with you, but you didn’t show up earlier… so I thought you weren’t coming.”

Veigar’s heart sank a little hearing this. “Don’t take it personally Lulu.” he said softly, patting her head. “I’ve never been one for social events. They’re too loud, and I hate big crowds. I always hated hearing everyone celebrate, they create too much noise. When Tristana asked me to help set up, I didn’t come because I wasn’t fond of being asked to help set everything up. I always planned to come at sundown, just to make you happy. You are my best friend after all.”

Veigar gave her a hug, and her sadness had gone away quickly. She hugged him back, and then sprang up out of excitement.

“Let’s go then! There’s plenty of games we can play, and snacks we can eat. And just wait till the moonlight comes, it’ll be sooo pretty!” 

Several hours had passed. Veigar managed to have a good time, mostly due to the great food and wine that was around. Lulu had a great time playing all the games that were set up, and explaining the long, storied traditions of Moondawn to Veigar.

It was time for the main event. The moon was shining, and a beam of bright silvery energy touched the ground and spread vastly across the magic filled lands of the spirit realm. The light was surprisingly warm, and rather beautiful - even to Veigar.

The remaining crops had grown exceptionally, and had a faint silvery glow to them. All the yordles had cheered, this harvest season was a major success and they were prepared for the cold season.

Veigar remained silent as he watched the rest of the moonlight flicker out. Fireworks had gone off above the plaza, and the event was coming to a close. It was rather late, and he felt exhausted from being around so many people for so long. He was ready for a long rest.

“Thanks, Lulu. I enjoyed myself, but I need to head home now. I recommend you head home soon too.” he said to her.

“I’m glad you enjoyed yourself, Veigar. I told you you’d have fun!” she said with a smile on her face. “Can I follow you home?”

“Sure.” Veigar replied. “You don’t live too far from me.”

There were faint silver sparkles in the air, and moon moths were all over Bandle City. All the creatures from the Bandle woods scurried back to their homes. Veigar listened to Lulu as he took her home, and he thought that maybe, festivals weren’t so bad after all.

10. Swellview Stats

So, I decided to do a little more Charlotte’s inner thoughts in this chapter. I know I did a touch here and there last chapter, but more in this one. It’s in Italics. Edit: You may have missed Ch. 9, because its an audio post instead of a text post. So, you’ll have to read that one before this one. It don’t look like the other ones.

Swellview Stats

Swellview might as well be a Utopia for simple minded individuals and intellects who gave up being competitive in the wide world. We have some of the safest neighborhoods, because of a couple of reasons. One of them is the Man Team. The other is the fact that our villains are stupid. Honestly, our townsfolk are stupid, too. There's probably a handful of brain cells in Swellview that get lent around for convenience, and a select few absolute geniuses who just got stuck here because they were born here and staying was too easy. I can't be one of those geniuses. The last time there was a murder in Swellview was like 35 years ago and it was accidental. There are often injuries as a result of chaotic driving or Captain Man goofing up a rescue, but statically, Swellview is a safe and comfortable place. Do I love safety? Yes. Do I love comfort? More than anyone I know! Can I settle for being the best in my field when my counterparts would never even rank in the country? Why would I? 

I'm Charlotte Page. I aspire to be Dr. Charlotte Page, a Renaissance woman who specializes in every letter of STEAM, focusing on biomedical engineering… she looked at her boyfriend, shoving oversized eggs into his mouth while the rest of the guys counted, "8,9.." she got up, shaking her head and left the table.

She already had a dozen acceptance letters for colleges, was already taking some courses and had finished a couple of programs via Swellview University while she was in school. She had all of her graduation credits last year. She was going to graduate early, but decided to just get additional high school transcripts dings, and start college low-key, to transition a little better afterwards. 

Besides, her work in the Man Cave was excellent practice for the work that she would be doing in her near future. She was thinking by 21, she'd have her first degree and probably be able to design electrical circuits, software to run medical equipment, or computer simulations to test new drug therapies. She'd want to try out a tech position at a renowned lab, but might have to settle for something more subtle because she'd still be working on her education, too.

By 23, she should be able to finally make a move towards the lab of her choice with the previous lab work experience and her highest degree completed."Hey, Charlotte! Jasper just stuffed 12 eggs into his mouth!" Henry bragged and stuck his tongue out laughing. "Then he swallowed them whole!"

"What?" She asked turning to the table again.

"Just gulped 'em down his gullet!" Ray cheered.

"Jasper?" Charlotte fussed. "You KNOW that eating that many boiled eggs will give you painful gas!"

Jasper said to the guys at the table, "Hey. How many farts you guys think I'll make when these eggs give me gas?" They started giving out numbers.

Charlotte folded her arms and glared at him, shaking her head. Henry was grateful HE wasn't the one getting the look this time. In fact, those looks seemed to be reserved for her boyfriend these past few weeks. She definitely loved him. Henry knew she did, because why else on Earth would that match even take place. But, he also realized that she had buttons. Buttons that Jasper pushed with childlike wonder, with enthusiasm that seemed to ask, "What does this one do?" Henry offered some intervention in saying, "Charlotte, you are dating a legend. A Man Cave legend. Nobody makes stats like Jasp does in this place."

"And what are these stats good for?" She asked Henry.

Ray intercepted, "Allow me." He grabbed a remote control and pressed a button, which revealed a chart of really stupid things (like how many punches in the belly you can take), and a points system. Jasper was in the lead. She was in last place..  in a contest that she didn't even know could happen, with points mainly for dodging certain death during Ray's irresponsible tantrums or something. "Yes, stare in awe," Ray told her.

"Awe is definitely a word," she said. She sighed, shook her head and said, "I'm going up into the store, before the gas and fart counting begins…" She heard a loud noise and saw Henry's distorted face.

Ray cheered, "Too late." And she was gone. Up the tube gone. She wasn't even gonna stay at work if this is what they were doing with their time. 

Jasper was really sweet. Whenever it was the two of them, she was the only person in the world. Whenever they were with their friends, he was still sweet, but… they brought out the oaf in him. Now… as a friend of all of these people, she couldn't be too judgy. And nobody MADE her say yes to Jasper. She just wished that his best round of friends weren't.. this.

She was thinking about the upcoming college years and he was literally making a game out of his flatulence. The most frustrating thing about that was that Jasper isn't even a fart humor type person! He finds that gross and childish!! But, whenever it's the guys, he's onboard for childish shenanigans. Unless he's pretending to be more mature when he's with her. Then, that's false advertising, and she'd feel bamboozled. BUT then, if THAT was the case..  she would have to admit to being outsmarted by JASPER! Charlotte let out an aggravated squeal and frightened a lady and her dog walking by. They went to the other side of the street and she kept going, feeling awkward. 

Piper was home, so she stopped by. "Hey… I wanted to vent to someone about Jasper…"

Piper raised her palm and said, "Let me give you a little disclaimer. Whatever it is that you have to say, my perpetual thought will be, "What did you expect when you started going out with Jasper?"

"Fair enough. Can I begin?" Piper sat down and Charlotte joined her on the couch. "So.. I know that Jasper's a little bit offbeat."

"What an understatement."

"He's honestly not as stupid as people think. He's very good at listening. He is insightful when it comes to interpersonal relationships. He gives excellent pep talks and sometimes pretty good advice, if he understands all of the details. He's an honest, loyal, and caring friend and has been a very thoughtful boyfriend."

"So, this is gushing and not venting? Balls." Piper flopped back, prepared to listen to Jasper praise that she didn't ask for.

"No. That was the good stuff that I have to get out of the way before I complain to him about what I can't stand, unless I want to see him cry!"

"You.. say all of that before you get to your point? And he listens?"

"Jasper feeds off of compliments. They open him up fully and then you can slide in the complaints. Only thing is that I knew he was the guy that he is and it's not fair to expect him to change, but.. Shouldn't he want to? Wouldn't you rather do anything else in the world than count farts with your friends, when you have an awesome girlfriend who's also around?"

"I would rather do anything else if I was as lonely as an old lady in a house thought to be haunted. But, I'm not Jasper. And like you said, you knew he was an idiot from the moment he first opened his mouth. We all did. I knew he was an idiot from the moment my memory formed as a toddler and he was at our house in all his stupid glory."

"But he's not stupid! That's the problem. He's ignorant about a lot. He's naive. He doesn't always think things through. But… have you ever seen him plan something out for a date? Or heard him talk to a little kid? Jasper is definitely unique, but I think he could do anything he puts his mind to. I just wish he'd put his mind to things that matter."

"Do you ever suggest these things?"

"Yeah, but I can't control him!"

Piper laughed, "Oh, Charlotte. I keep forgetting that this is your first boyfriend. Of course you can control him. Jasper is… what's a word that you won't refute?... Impressionable. Make better impressions. Lemme see your phone."

Charlotte reluctantly handed it over and Piper read out loud as she typed, "Shame that you didn't want to hang with me today. Gonna have to pick out new undies by myself. Sad face emoji."

"What?"

"Send."

"WHAT?"

Piper held a hand up to her, then pointed to the phone to show her Jasper was typing. "I would chop off the entire bottom half of my body to be included in that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Too late. But, hope that the fart counting went well. Maybe, if you're more considerate later, I'll text you pix of my choices."

"Don't send that!"

"Send."

Charlotte snatched her phone from Piper, but Piper bent over her to see Jasper's next response, "Okay… I didn't mean to be inconsiderate? Next time, I'll check to see if you need anything from me before being stupid with the guys all day." Charlotte shook her head and said, "That's unfair to play him like that."

"Are you mad at me, Babe?" Jasper wondered.

Charlotte: No. That was Piper. I let her see my phone.

Jasper: Ok… but… did you tell her that stuff about me?

Charlotte: I said some things, but…He called. She groaned and answered, "Hey. Sorry about that…"

"Hey… if I'm doing something wrong, you can just tell me. You don't have to go to Piper."

"I came here just to vent."

"About me?"

"A little."

"Vent to me. Tell me what's wrong." She began to give out her list of compliments, but he cut her off, "Charlotte. I said tell me what's wrong. I know that you like and respect me. There's no other reason that you'd date me. What's your beef, though? What did you have to vent about?"

She sighed and laid on the couch as she talked. Piper hung around, listening to the end of the chat as she used her own cell phone. "I just feel like you would rather be doing senseless things with the guys at work than anything with me."

"I feel like I do a lot with you and that I've hardly hung out with them in the past few weeks, but I'll try to be more mindful about things. I don't want you having to vent about me."

"I… shouldn't have said anything."

"How else could I know? I'm not intuitive." She frowned. "Hey, pretty girl. Smile. Don't stress about it. You didn't say yes to a caveman. I just like to relax with my bros sometimes and that can't change. You smiling?"

"Yeah," she lied.

"No you're not. That's not your smiling voice."

Now, she was smiling, "Thought you said you weren't intuitive."

"There it is!" He cheered. "I'm not intuitive. I just really know you. Not enough to read your mind, but enough to hear that smile."

She smiled even wider and said, "You irritate me."

"Maybe. But not right now. Otherwise, you wouldn't be smiling so much." They both held the phone a while and Jasper asked in a low, soft voice, "You love me, right?"

"I've never said that," she said.

"That wasn't a no!" He said and she could swear… she could swear that she could hear him smiling. "I love you too." He hung up the phone and she nudged Piper with her foot.

"You're welcome," Piper said.

Swellview is not so much "Home Sweet Home" as it is, a safe place with sweet people that you could get used to. Crime rates are fairly high, but the crimes are pretty safe. The news is hilarious. You can just walk right into a friend's home and their door is probably open, and their family probably treats you like you're a part of theirs. It's a good place to meet the love of your life, even. Maybe not so much to stay there with them, though. I don't know how to ask Jasper what's going to happen when we graduate. I don't know how to even suggest that he come with me. I have no idea if he'll even want something more than Swellview. I have no idea if he thinks that I'm something more than Swellview.

I used to??? Haven’t had the time for it in a while though and I’ve been reading a lot of how-to books as of late….. I really liked the Legend trilogy though
