Author:

Urabe Kenkō, also known as Yoshida Kenkō, or simply Kenkō, was a Japanese author and Buddhist monk. He was allegedly born in 1283 and died in 1352 in Japan. His most famous work is Tsurezuregusa, one of the most studied works of medieval Japanese literature.

This work serves as a powerful reminder that not all creations of a writer necessitate publication. Were they the next Sokratis or Plato? Certainly not, and Kenko himself knew it. He explicitly stated that these writings were intended solely for his own consumption. So why, then, override his wishes and publish them? While certain passages may spark conversation, do they offer a singular thought that could only be derived from his mind? Doubtful.

You'll find some solid life advice here and the thoughts of someone who's had the luxury to really mull over life's big questions through deep introspection. Yet, beyond that, there appears to be little else. The text reflects the contemplations of someone who has had the time and privilege to ponder the essence of their existence. But is there profundity here beyond personal reflection? It's hard to say. This text is more about personal reflection than groundbreaking insight.

Quelle découverte !

Toujours pas remise de ma lecture de Gorge d’Or, roman finlandais de cette dernière rentrée littéraire, je cherchais un livre qui puisse lui ressembler, au moins un peu… ça m’a conduite, par ricochets divers, à la découverte de cet écrivain norvégien, né à la fin du XIXe et mort en 1970. Tarjei Vesaas. Un inconnu total pour moi… quoique.. j’avais lu dans Télérama une critique au sujet de ce qui est considéré comme son chef-d’œuvre : Les oiseaux, nouvellement traduit aux éditions Cambourakis.

Alors. Le palais de glace n’a rien à voir avec Gorge d’Or. Mais c’est une merveille. Une lecture qui ressemble à une expérience entre veille et sommeil. Les commentateurs l’identifient comme un conte symboliste, ça me paraît pertinent. Cela ressemble à un conte énigmatique qui parle d’enfants, mais ne leur serait pas vraiment destiné. Ou peut-être que si, s’ils lisent avec les yeux fermés (façon de parler), avec leurs rêves accessibles, sans attendre d’action tonitruante, en écoutant leurs émotions les plus incompréhensibles.

Vous avez le résumé de la nouvelle traduction de l’édition la plus récente. Ce n’est pas celle que j’ai lue, j’ai lu le livre dans l’édition GF, plus ancienne. Je ne peux juger de l’amélioration apportée ou non par Jean-Baptiste Coursaud, mais je serais curieuse de lire cette autre version.

Ce que je peux dire pour l’instant, c’est que le style de l’auteur est très simple. Il progresse dans son récit par petites touches, petites phrases plutôt courtes, qui ne sont pas complexes mais qui sont bien souvent énigmatiques. Il semble vouloir rendre compte des émotions successives et étranges que les petites filles éprouvent l’une pour l’autre, puis à l’égard de quelque chose qui les dépasse, ou bien qui les submerge.

L’attention à la nature est admirable. On passe de l’automne au printemps, du début de la formation de ce palais de glace (une cascade gelée) à son effondrement. Siss, l’une des deux fillettes, passe de l’innocence à la tristesse puis à la tentation nouvelle d’une vie autre qui coïncide au printemps où un garçon la trouble, mais elle ne veut pas trahir son amie avec laquelle elle a passé un pacte impérieux.

Je ne vais pas enfermer ce récit dans mon interprétation, mais je me contenterai de lancer quelques pistes. Les deux fillettes qui s’adorent évoque pour moi quelque chose de tout à fait concret, la dévotion enfantine que l’on peut avoir en amitié ne me paraît pas du tout saugrenue. Elle peut aussi revêtir une dimension symbolique puisque les deux fillettes sont apparemment opposées. On peut se demander si la perte de lune par l’autre ne correspond pas au passage de l’enfance à l’adolescence, qui va de pair avec l’envie de réconfort en même temps qu’un malaise soudain vis à vis des parents.

Peu importe, ce sont des fils, des chemins, tracés dans la neige, des lueurs qui vibrent à travers les parois du palais de glace, si beau, si mystérieux ; un refuge, un danger, un lieu de rêve, un secret, un tombeau. Au lecteur de se laisser prendre par la main par le narrateur qui pose des questions et des bouts de réponses comme des cailloux scintillants dans son récit, au lecteur de les ramasser en fonction de la résonance qu’ils créent en lui. La dimension onirique est si présente qu’elle fait du récit un texte qui résiste à l’analyse, ce qui permet sûrement de survivre aux années, et font de lui un joyau qui est célèbre en Norvège, et qui se fraie apparemment enfin un chemin jusqu’à nous. Une lecture marquante.

PS : c’est chouette de le lire fin décembre, dans un monde qui manque singulièrement d’enchantement. Une lecture qui m’a rappelé Michel Tournier ou Karen Blixen.

PS 2 : j’ai mis la 1ère de couverture de l’édition anglaise de Pinguin Books parce que je la trouvais belle.

Three-dimensional scene for today based on summer and country house. So, it is already end of winter. And almost start of spring. And somewhere in spring it is good to go to the country house. Where to go? That’s right! To the country house. Soon it will start to grow a grass. And it grows fast. Everything will start to be green very fast.

Country house - it is a best place for free time and relax. It is funny, sunny and everything around is green. Lots of friends around. Frogs and grasshoppers. Frogs are jumping in a  grass. And hiding from a sun. For them, it is very hot. But they can to jump into water, to be long underwater. And grasshoppers – are just excellent musicians. Such a songs they sing. And jumps very good. They are talented.

And here in my three-dimensional drawing. Such a virtual three-dimensional world. At scene. You are invited as a guest, by a mole! Mole invites you to visit his place. He is black. And dig a underground passages. But he is clever and intelligence. A clever mole. He can to learn, read books, can programing. And he has a little house. Just like you at your country house place. There is here a little fence. And lots of big flowers! So, this place mole is living! He does not forget about underground passages too. And from his house there is underground way. There is a labyrinth there. And lots of little rooms.

And now mole is sitting at the sun and have a free time. Mole is happy about his life. At the morning he already does dig. He learns something. And now he is doing his free time. Mole is learning how to program a QBasic and C. Today he is having a free time. And tomorrow he will be study all day long.

It is very sunny at his place. And hot. There a river nearby. You can swim there. And speak with fish and a crab. And what a beautiful flowers are here. And everything is green. Grass is green and beautiful. You can sit here for a long time and watch side by side.

Mole has lots of friends. They are frogs, ants, grasshoppers, chickens and different other little animals. And sometimes from somewhere far a goose is going to his place. He is big and has a long neck. Goose can program with Turbo Pascal. Goose is very clever. He can swim. And dive. And it is comfortable for him to speak with fish.

Sparrow is flying here and there and tells a different stories. He is living a little far in a forest. At the tree he has a house. And it is very interesting to listen his stories. And it was crawling already grass snake and tells about programming language python. And game snake he is programming. And crawling next.

And in the evening, everyone will go to drink a tea with a rabbit. It will be beautiful sunset in the evening. It will go different rabbits and bunnies. And it will be lots of fun. They are very positive all the time. Pinguin and polar owl will go. In the evening, It is not hot for them. And everyone will drink a tea.

going through dario nardi's neuroscience of personality book is hilarious because every other page i see the "maintaining stability" phrase associated with Si users and i go into full seizure and have to bite my pinguin plushie to feel normal again

Ok sooo I am not exactly the best person to explain bc I usually end up sleeping in the middle of Cellbit's streams so there's some things I know that happened but I don't know exactly how but anyway:

• Cellbit got another black box with his name, this time with the coordinates 0, 0

• He, Richas and Roier go there, they find a box with a picture that showed the globe and a link ending with “whats missing 9, 2, 1” I think

• They get the numbers that Baghera, Forever and BBH got and replace the missing with them and put them in QSMP global

• They find.... nothing, a erron page not found! Or so it seems, because there were secret things written in white, talking about a thing that could be very dangerous in the wrong person's hand

• Anyways, I don't fully remember if this was in the same day or not, but he and Richas find a lighthouse and a very broken house, on the house there's an apple tree with the book the giving tree

• He find some books about someone talking about living in the island, and as thing could get boring having to do sodoku to pass the time. He solves some sodokus and ends up finding these books (that I found in qsmp wiki ^-^!)

• The binary translates to “your only window of opportunity”

• So, cellbit discovers that the windows of the house were in braille! They said “end of line”

• On Richas birthday, they go to investigate the trails, and in the end of the trails they find a box with a lever and a iron trapdoor

• Using the lever to open the trapdoor, they find something. A Big Red Button and a book. The book is the puzzle one, the puzzle that happened on the first day of qsmp and that was never solved

• When they press the button, they end up resetting the puzzle!

• Cellbit calls Baghera and Pomme, and the 4 of them solve the puzzle (something something a puzzle meant for Spanish and English speakers ended up being solved by french speakers and Brazilians)

• When they solve the puzzle, the 2 of them get a cutscenes! They see a very glitched video of the duck saying welcome in Spanish and English, and the video lasts some seconds only

• When Cellbit analyses the video, a picture of a place in Minecraft flashed between the glitches, he knew were it was, so he and Richas go there

• The place was in the underwater next to the trails, and he finds a red sand in the place of the picture, when he breaks it, he gets an achievement! A bunch of numbers

• The number translated to kill seven villagers (a great birthday gift do Richarlyson :D)

• When they kill the villagers, they get a block from the mushroom biome

• Going there, he gets another achievement! This one talking about 200 steps to the sun

• So they go 200 blocks east, and gets another achievement, this one telling him to meet 350 (or something) pinguins

• They go 350 blocks south, and find nothing!

• He jokes with Richas, asking if he has to do the club Pinguin dance and he does the dance. Then he gets another achievement!

• This one saying mirror mirror on the wall, who is staring back to you?

And that's all I remember, there might be some mistakes bc I have been very sleepy these last few days, but yeah ^-^!

Cellbit said he solved the mirror puzzle!

Yolanda Vargas Dulché de la Parra, born July 18, 1926, was a Mexican writer principally known for the creation of the comic book character of Memín Pinguínand various telenovelas for Mexican television. She began her writing career as a way to supplement income for several newspapers, creating Memín Penguín in 1943. By 1960, she has successfully published a number of comic books, encouraging her husband, Guillermo de la Parra, to write as well. The two went on to create various successful telenovelas including Rubí, which has been redone for both television and film. In total Varga Dulché published over sixty titles in both Mexico and abroad.
