Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence - After the Long Goodbye (Masaki Yamada, 2004)
"The hulking cyborg counterterrorist, Batou, doesn't have a family; his electronic brain never dreams. So why did he dream the other night--and dream that he has a son?
At one time, Batou had a human love for his partner, the legendary Major, before he witnessed her transfiguration into something beyond humanity. Now he has only his job, and his beloved basset hound, Gabriel. But when Batou has a near-death experience in an arranged car "accident", he returns home to find Gabriel has gone missing--perhaps, to go look for her owner's lost soul.
Batou's desperate search for Gabriel leads him down surreal streets where homeless men fight tanks and yakuza racing hounds chase rabbits downloaded into their heads. Batou fears his poor dog has made a horrible mistake out of innocence--for Batou has taken a cold look inside himself... and decided that he never truly had a soul..."

I don't know if any of you listen to physical media since I know everyone and their mom has Spotify (or Soundcloud, I use both ✌), but if you listen to CD and Cassette, which ones do you like more? Storage, listening, for literally any reason.
I'm thinking about making an either CD or Cassette collection, as Tatsuro Yamashita doesn't do streaming services and it makes me think which one to get. Though, a lot of my favorite albums have CDs... (Nagisa Cosmetic, Contemode's 2 albums, Capsule, I'd also like to get my hands on Serani Poji's albums one day too).
CDs probably sound better (not 100% sure) but Cassette players look way nicer than. Circle Walkman 💀 Though nothing doesn't stop me from getting both too, I suppose

You know how puppies have folded ears but over time they straighten up like points? Thats my headcanon for Bee now. Young Bee has the pup ears and older Bee has the horns.
Yeah that'd be really cute. I also saw someones comment about Bee being the one with the dog ears and Cliffjumper having the horns, which I'm also down for. They just gotta stop killing Cliffjumper first LOL

shoutout to the p4 party rebalance mod giving naoto basically every element's ultimate skill.
Tumblr media
she deserves it-
#rambearling#persona 4#p4#totally gonna use that mod my next playthrough. i need to be able to actually use yosuke the whole game#i wanted to but my friend told me he sucks and to use kanji instead 😒 /lh /silly#which. tbf probably for the best i didn't have good elec coverage on yu for like 90% of the game-#i still don't have good wind coverage though and i'm at the final dungeon. i just have like. magaru on izanagi. and garudyne on naoto#i might still have a mothman with something idr-#will probably wait until it gets updated to have a working full izanagi moveset though i have used him the whole game this playthrough#but he uh. kinda fucking sucks-#my moveset for him is like. zionga magaru media herculean strike. and then a bunch of stat moves i don't remembear-#thinking about it there's probably guides for this kinda thing online i was just fucking around and finding out#the closest i got to actually optimizing skills was fusing black frost for the shadow mitsuo fight gggffgffgdgdg-#black frost is my hecking mvp this playthrough i bearsically just use him and izanagi honestly#i don't know what i'm doing when it comes to fusing personas tbh. when i'm in the velvet room i kinda just make whatever looks cool#and then 90% of the time i don't use it cuz i have izanagi and black frost hhggfhfvfd-#basically the only thing those two can't do is light. and almighty but that's beary situational. naoto covers both of those-#and then teddie heals and has multitarget ice skills and kanji has actually good elec skills + more phys skills 👍#i'm good at this game i swear i know it really doesn't sound like it from these tags-#i beat kusumi-no-okami my first try and my friend says that fight's hard soooooo. yea 😎

I feel like every game should have "hobby/likes" and "secret hobby/likes" on character profiles. Until you unlock the side story through friendship (or intimacy, or even hated depending on the type of game), the secret hobby/likes is just listed as ??? because you obviously have to be close to them to learn about it. Also because I swear every character has a hobby or thing they really like that doesn't match the one on their profile and I want that logged

Shitty MSM watchdog entry:
One of the worst crimes of the mainstream media is watering scientific information down. Conflating preprint with fact and playing tricks with calling nothing more than an opinion a factual "study."
The mainstream media are extremely aware the average US reader has a base reading compensation level at the 3rd grade and so when they make science confusing and based on opinion, you have to assume it's done on purpose.
Three recent examples of scientific misinformation come from The LA Times, something called "Phys org", and Google News. The Times had a scientifically illiterate writer cover the OPINION of one single neurologist and then published the poorly written thing titling it as a "study." Then the Wish version of science news called Phys Org picked the story up and republished it as fact. And then Google picked it up from Phys Org and is sending the opinion piece out to American readers as fact when buried in the article they kind of clarify there's no actual study. But by this point of the article the writer and news publications have conflated the value of a real peer reviewed study with some old man who works in health's opinion. This confuses the reader and fucks up their already low level reading comprehension especially relating to science and critical thought. It's got to be on purpose.

How would Danish highschools and unis change after the influx of Black students? How would policies and attitudes and curricula evolve to be respectful of the new arrivals' culture? What expectations would a Danish girl face, from her friends, parents, and authorities? What would the average Danish girl's social life be like?
How would life look like in the Africanized Denmark I described here?
Education Curricula would evolve to be more respectful of Black culture, as you say.
For example, history classes would take on a more comparative perspective. Instead of just studying Danish history, students would learn that while their ancestors were burying their kings in mounds of dirt, Egyptians were building the Great Pyramid of Giza.
Tumblr media
Physical education would also change. The focus would shift from seeing physical activity as a component of well-being to seeing it as a requirement for sexual attractiveness.
Danish gymn classes of today are big on communal activities, teaching students how to be part of a team without the competitive focus of American phys ed. The purpose of the exercises aren't to "get in shape" as much as to give students the sensation of using their bodies, resulting in little more than a pair of healthy blushing cheeks.
Tumblr media
This would all change in Africanized Denmark. Now the focus would be on being the most attractive version of yourself that you can be.
For the guys, this would consist of muscle-building exercises, like weight-lifting and push-ups. Mostly for the Black men, of course, with white guys being encouraged to take on the role of spotter.
The atmosphere would be very masculine, and (Black) students would be allowed to decorate the locker room with their favorite pin-ups.
For the girls, gym class would start with an individual weighing in front of the entire class. Weight losses would be commended, and girls would be warned not to become "chubby".
This would be followed by strenuous exercises designed to make your tummy tighter and your butt bigger. The only cheeks blushing would be those on your backside as you went through your twerking exercises.
Critical Race Theory would also play a central role in the curriculum. Students would be encouraged to explore the historical roots and contemporary manifestations of racism. This would include exploring and apologizing for subconcious racism among the Danish students themselves. I've written more about this here.
Tumblr media
Expectations faced by Danish girls Danish girls in particular would be expected to extend their hospitality to the new arrivals.
Posting pro-BLM material on your social media profile would be expected and considered the bare minimum. Likewise attending anti-racist rallies. As our dark-skinned guests are greeted at the border, Danish teens would be marching and chanting in protest of police brutality against Blacks.
There would also be an expectation of dating the new arrivals. As a single Danish girl you would be expected to be on at least one dating or hookup app, advertising your desire to welcome a Black man into your bed.
This pressure would especially be felt by those girls blessed with a big booty. A bona fide PAWG in a relationship with a Danish guy would be accused of "wasting" her body on a white guy when a Black man would enjoy it so much more.

I remember seeing a bunch of these “what if Hook was the actual hero? The reason he hates Peter Pan? Here are theories that Hook was a Lost Boy?”, when I was younger and it didn’t really make sense.
Okay? Cool? I’m fine with villains having a sympathetic backstory, but not every villain is meant to be some sort of tragic hero.
I may not have read “Peter and Wendy”, but I’m very familiar with most Peter Pan media aside from the Disney originals and Hook doesn’t really need any special reason to hate Peter Pan other than the obvious “That scurvy brat cut off my hand!” I don’t know about everyone else, but I’d certainly hate someone enough to see them as a rival to kill on the spot for something like that.
But overall, Hook is a pirate. Have people conveniently forgotten that pirates would gore, maim, mutilate, and kill people for the fun of it during their whole pillage and ransacking of other ships? If it wasn’t Peter, then it totally would’ve been someone else.
Heck, Smee called Pan’s actions as a “childish prank” and Hook agreed “Aye, but throwing it to the crocodile! That wretched beast liked the taste of me so well, it’s been following me ever since, licking his chops for the rest of me!”
So, it’s not just the hand…although apparently Hook’s gotten used to it. Again, he’s a pirate captain, however and whenever the crew had gotten into Neverland, there’d bound to have been other pirates that they encountered before Peter Pan. It’s the fact that Tic Toc Croc never leaves Hook alone. Now Tic Toc clearly would eat anyone else, but Hook is the main snack of his attention.
It reminds me of that story about a tigress where she literally tracked and stalked a specific hunter.
So yeah, understandably, Hook has a right to be angry. He doesn’t really need any more motivation than that to hate Peter Pan.
I am curious in how and why, cuz I highly doubt Peter’s dagger would be able to chop off a hand in one blow. And I doubt Hook would’ve just been standing around to let someone, let alone a child, do that to him. “Peter Pan” (2003) does a good job in showing the mutilated stump of such an injury.
But I wonder what exactly led up to that point.
I agree with you on the “Hook was a Lost Boy and Peter is actually evil and Hook is trying to save them” trope. It’s been done so many times now and I’m just…very over it. Besides, while it is, I suppose, technically possible Hook could have been a Lost Boy AND an Etonian…it just…doesn’t seem likely to me that he would be both. And most of those retellings just end up leaving Eton out entirely…which…bothers me because it’s a big part of his character. Even if he wasn’t there for long, it clearly left its mark on him with his obsession with “good form.” Also…I like Hook in part BECAUSE he is a villain. I find him fascinating because he is a sympathetic villain with a great deal of potential for redemption. I don’t WANT him to be the hero from the get-go. That fundamentally changes his character and means we don’t get to see the complexities of his emotions and trauma play out as he struggles to BECOME a hero in his own right. Making him the hero from the start just skips over all that and totally ignores canon for both him and Peter. Peter may be a selfish, cocky kid who can be cruel at times…but he’s not some demon child and people need to stop pretending that he is. Like Hook, Peter is a fun character specifically because he is complicated. Don’t turn him into some straight-up villain who is flat and boring and totally unlikable. Barrie pretty clearly meant for us to like both Peter and Hook and have mixed feelings about them. It’s who they are and it’s why his story has stood the test of time—because well-written characters aren’t one-dimensional.
Also…making Hook the hero and Peter the villain completely misses the point… Frankly, the whole issue Peter and Hook have with each other is (ironically) that they BOTH need to do some growing up. In Peter’s case, it’s pretty obvious. He has physically and emotionally stopped aging. Hook may be a grown man, but (and I say this as someone who loves Hook) he is emotionally very immature. He loses his temper easily, holds a grudge against a kid rather than taking responsibility for his part in things as the adult, and generally just doesn’t behave the way a grown-up should. Peter is stunted in his growth, holding on too tightly to his childhood, and Hook grew up too quickly and never really matured as a result. Wendy sees this pretty clearly and finds the balance between maintaining childlike wonder and growing into a respectable, responsible adult. If you make Peter into an often literal inhuman monster and Hook into the perfect hero, then Peter becomes totally incapable of ever choosing to grow up (even just emotionally, if not physically) and Hook doesn’t need to grow anymore because he’s already reached the end goal.
As for how/why things started between them…personally, I think Hook started it. As you said, he IS a pirate, after all. My guess is that he wanted something from the Lost Boys and/or Tink…information about a treasure, perhaps, or even just information about how to get off the island, as in some versions it seems he is trapped there…and Peter saw Hook threatening them and wasn’t having it. The only way I can figure that Peter managed to actually cut the hand off entirely is if Hook had fallen flat on some hard surface (rock?) that had very little to no give and Peter just…dropped like a stone from a great height, letting gravity really do its work and putting all his weight into it. And the only situation where I can see this happening is if Hook had a weapon in his hand that perhaps Peter was trying to knock back. I honestly don’t think it was intentional to cut the hand off. I suspect, knowing Peter’s tendency to make up stories about himself to make him sound more courageous and tough than he actually is, taking the hand clean off was an accident and when he went to pick up the discarded weapon, it was really only then he realized the hand was still attached. He flung it away in disgust and the crocodile just happened to be nearby. When Peter tells the story, though, he changes things up a bit. And Hook is too out of it from the blood loss and pain to really remember all the details so he believes Peter’s version of events that it was an intentional “prank” to cut off the hand and throw it to the crocodile.

Biggest DC Misconception
Round 2 - Match 8
Guy's personality in BTBATB is lacking
I have genuinely heard and been told by fans from the Batman Brave and The Bold verse say that this version of guy lacks everything that he is in comics and other media which isn't true. This version of guy is a bit more lighthearted due to the shows target audience but he does not lack his personality. He's still hot tempered, rather arrogant to most things, straightforward, sassy and so his other traits are present as well. I'm sick of people assuming that just because a version of media is targeted to a specific audience means it's automatically going to lack things in certain characters. If anything this version of guy has such subtle hints about his past and more that it's crazy about the little details they put into him and other characters in the show as well.
--
Guy Gardner is an asshole
He was a social worker turned SEND phys ed teacher who had a horrible childhood and decided to use it to help people until superheroing gave him a traumatic brain injury and YES in the 80s he was then played as 'haha brain injury made man go mean' but EVEN THEN he was brave and loyal and yeah he's brash and deliberately annoying but he's maybe the most selfless green lantern of the core four. He won't just die to save another life, he'll damn himself to constant torment to save another life. He so good you guys

Late night thoughts but, y'know what I really love in media? Imperfect relationships.
And no I don't mean relationships where they argue a lot or don't completely click together.
One of the tropes that I happen to dislike is the idea of people in love being each others "perfect half", that "complete each other" and "fill the gaps within them" (no innuendo intended).
Sure its sweet, heart warming, and gives off a sense of hope but, realistically, nobody truly completes someone!
Which is how I came up with my own little term for my favorite relationships; Kintsugi relationships.
For those who don't know, kintsugi, also known as kintsukuro, is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery using gold, silver, or platinum dust! This creates a rather beautiful but imperfect appearance to the pottery, showing the lines of breakage while holding it together, but never truly healing it all the way.
Tumblr media
One of my favorite current ships, Vashwood (aka Vash the Stampede and Nicholas D. Wolfwood from the Trigun franchise) reflect this type of relationship to me!
Both Vash and Wolfwood suffer from their own individual traumas, being filled to the brim with metaphorical and physical scars that eat away at them.
Vash struggles with hundreds of years worth of trauma, reflected upon his whole body after trying to save countless lives from death and violence. Some caused by bandits, some caused by his own brother, and some... Caused by him.
He struggles with nightmares and PTSD, remembering the incidents and death that was all his own fault, mourning the unknown lives that he had taken by accident during both the fall of SEEDS, the July incident, and the destruction of the moon. He relives it, and makes it his whole purpose to avoid those incidents from ever happening again.
And he suffers in silence, hiding behind a fake smile, under a red damaged duster and protective armor, with nobody truly knowing what goes through his head as he lives day by day, trying to provide some hope to the world.
Wolfwood also struggles with quite a lot of trauma, feeling the leftover scars deep within his bones, even though nary are visible upon his flesh. He remembers each bullet wound, each knife stabbing, each bit of blood that was shed before he drank a potion, forcing him back to life to continue fighting.
He also remembers the torturous abuse he went through to become a member of the Eye of Michael, to become their Punisher, forcing his body to age and grow beyond its means and become subhuman.
And even though he denies it, he remembers all the death he has caused too. All the bandits he's fought, all the targets he's followed, all to appease a faceless man to protect his childhood home at the orphanage. He drinks and smokes the pain away, never truly opening up to people while acting like a saintly priest, knowing how much pain he's caused for a cause he didn't believe in.
At least.... Until they met, and left together to search for Knives. And slowly but surely, unlike any other person they met, began to unravel and slowly heal each others open wounds.
The two of them find comfort in each others trauma, their battle scars, their imperfectness, spending every moment as they travel No Man's Land together. The bicker, they fight, they laugh, they smile, they rest and share tears. But they never try to fix each other, only bide their time and ignore their own pain, while finding a purpose in life to live and fight.
They are each others kintsugi, the gold that holds them together, that doesn't completely heal the countless imperfections, wounds, and trauma. But they don't care, because they'd rather share each others tomorrows and feel human for once, even for but a moment in each others presence...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The same applies to a pair of ocs my friend and I have developed for quite some time, with the two ironically mirroring Vashwood in terms of relationship! They both struggle with their own individual traumas, and while they can't completely heal the metaphorical and physical scars, they can mend and soothe the leftover wounds.
They both suffer in silence in their own ways, but find comfort as they unravel each others hidden scars. They're imperfect, they're damaged, they go through highs and lows... but the fact that they have someone to fill part of those gaps with love and comfort makes it all worth it.
And that my friends, is the key to a kintsugi relationship; Embracing and loving imperfection, and healing wounds but never getting rid of them
Also another really cool and similar example that my friend brought up was the Sashiko sewing technique, which like Kintsugi, is focused upon repairing damage on a piece of fabric by creating unique stitches!
To quote from them, “Nothing is perfect nor does it last forever but there is beauty it’s the wounds and cracks that it bears. Showing them healed and not fixed brings a humanness to things that otherwise wouldn’t have it.”
And man...
If that doesn't represent Vashwood's whole relationship in their story, I don't know what does!
They also mentioned, "Something born out of necessity but bringing beauty to it anyway, really does scream Vashwood," which seeing by this quote is absolutely true!
Anyway, for anyone who reads this, thank you for taking the time to do so, and have a good night/day!! Maybe in the future I'll discuss some more fun things with Trigun, my ocs, or maybe another fandom of a certain fantastical variety? 👀
