David: One of Job's sons is played by a very promising young actor called Ty Tennant. He's got a great future ahead of him, I hope, because I'm hoping he'll pay for my old folks home when I retire. This is my father-in-law, Peter.
Peter: Hello.
David: And this is my son, Ty. And Peter is playing Ty's father in this particular scene.

'...âItâs fun playing bad, but actually heâs not,â the actor says, smiling as he reflects on his character, Crowley. âHeâs a villain with a heart. The amount of really evil things he does are vanishingly small.â
...As it always has, âGood Omensâ dissects the view of good and evil as absolutes, showing viewers that they are not as separate as we were led to believe growing up. Aziraphale and Crowleyâs long-standing union is proof of this. The show also urges people to look at what defines our own humanity. For Tennant â who opted to wear a T-shirt emblazoned with the words âLeave trans kids alone you absolute freaksâ during a photocall for Season 2 â these themes are more important now than ever before.
âIn this society that weâre currently living in, where polarization seems ever more present, fierce and difficult to navigate. Negotiation feels like a dirty word at times,â he says, earnestly. âThis is a show about negotiation. Two extremes finding common ground and making their world a better place through it. Making life easier, kinder and better. If thatâs the sort of super objective of the show, then I canât think of anything more timely, relevant or apt for the rather fractious times weâre living in.â
âGood Omensâ is back by popular demand for another season. How does it feel?
Itâs lovely. Whenever you send something out into the world, you never quite know how it will land. Especially with this, because it was this beloved book that existed, and that creates an extra tension that you might break some dreams. But it really exploded. I guess we were helped by the fact that we had Neil Gaiman with us, so you couldnât really quibble too much with the decisions that were being made. The reception was, and continues to be, overwhelming.
Now that youâre no longer bound by the original material that people did, perhaps, feel a sense of ownership over, does the new content for Season 2 come with a sense of freedom for you? This is uncharted territory, of sorts.
Thatâs an interesting point. I didnât know the book when I got the script. It was only after that I discovered the worlds of passion that this book had incited. Because I came to it that way, perhaps it was easier. I found liberation from that, to an extent. For me, it was always a character that existed in a script. At first, I didnât have that extra baggage of expectation, but I acquired it in the run-up to Season 1 being released⌠the sense that suddenly we were carrying a ming vase across a minefield.
In Season 2, we still have Neil and we also have some of the ideas that he and Terry had discussed. During the filming of the first one, Neil would drop little hints about the notions they had for a prospective sequel, the title of which would have been â668: The Neighbour of the Beast,â which is a pretty solid gag to base a book around. Indeed there were elements like Gabriel and the Angels, who donât feature in the book, that were going to feature in a sequel. They were brought forward into Season 1. So, even in the new episodes, weâre not entirely leaving behind the Terry Pratchett-ness of it all.
Itâs great to see yourself and Michael Sheen reunited on screen as these characters. Fans will have also watched you pair up for Season 3 of âStaged.â Youâre quite the dynamic duo. What do you think is the magic ingredient that makes the two of you such a good match?
Itâs a slightly alchemical thing. We knew each other in passing before, but not well. We were in a film together [âBright Young Things,â 1993] but weâd never shared a scene. It was a bit of a roll of the dice when we turned up at the read-through for âGood Omens.â I think a lot comes from the writing, as we were both given some pretty juicy material to work with. Those characters are beloved for a reason because thereâs something magical about them and the way they complete each other. Also, I think weâre quite similar actors in the way we like to work and how we bounce off each other.
Does the shorthand and trust the two of you have built up now enable you to take more risks on-screen?
Yes, probably. I suppose the more you know someone, the more you trust someone. You donât have to worry about how an idea might be received and you can help each other out with a more honest opinion than might be the case if you were, you know, dancing around each otherâs nervous egos. Enjoying being in someoneâs orbit and company is a positive experience. It makes going to work feel pleasant, productive, and creative. The more creative you can be, the better the work is. I donât think itâs necessarily a given that an off-screen relationship will feed into an on-screen one in a positive or negative way. You can play some very intimate moments with someone you barely know. Acting is a peculiar little contract, in that respect. But itâs disproportionately pleasurable going to work when itâs with a mate.
Fans have long discussed the nature of Crowley and Aziraphaleâs relationship. In Season 2, we see several of the characters debate whether the two are an item, prompting them to look at their union and decipher what it is. How would you describe their relationship?
They are utterly co-dependent. Thereâs no one else having the experience that they are having and theyâve only got each other to empathize with. Itâs a very specific set of circumstances theyâve been dealt. In this season, we see them way back at the creation of everything. Theyâve known each other a long time and theyâve had to rely on each other more and more. They canât really exist one without the other and are bound together through eternity. Crowley and Aziraphale definitely come at the relationship with different perspectives, in terms of what theyâre willing to admit to the relationship being. I donât think we can entirely interpret it in human terms, I think thatâs fair to say.
Yet fans are trying to do just that. Do you view it as beyond romantic or any other labels, in the sense that itâs an eternal force?
Itâs lovely [that fans discuss it] but you think, be careful what you wish for. If youâre willing for a relationship to go in a certain way or for characters to end up in some sort of utopian future, then the story is over. Remember what happened to âMoonlighting,â thatâs all Iâm saying! [Laughs]
Your father-in-law, Peter Davison, and your son, Ty Tennant, play biblical father-and-son duo Job and Ennon in Episode 2. In a Tumblr Q&A, Neil Gaiman said that he didnât know who Tyâs family was when he cast him. When did you become aware that Ty had auditioned?
I donât know how that happened. I do a bunch of self-tapes with Ty, but I donât think I did this one with him because I was out of town filming âGood Omens.â He certainly wasnât cast before we started shooting. There were two moments during filming where Neil bowled up to me and said, âGuess, who weâve cast?â Ty definitely auditioned and, as I understand it, they would tell me, he was the best. I certainly imagine he could only possibly have been the best person for the job. He is really good in it, so I donât doubt thatâs true. And then my father-in-law showed up, as well, which was another delicious treat. In the same episode and the same family! It was pretty weird. I have worked with both of them on other projects, but never altogether.
Thereâs a âDoctor Whoâ cameo, of sorts, in Episode 5, when Aziraphale uses a rare annual about the series as a bartering tool. In reality, youâll be reprising your Time Lord role on screen later this year in three special episodes to mark the 60th anniversary. Did you always feel youâd return to âDoctor Whoâ at some point?
Thereâs a precedent for people who have been in the series to return for a multi-doctor show, which is lovely. I did it myself for the 50th anniversary in 2013, and I had a wonderful time with Matt [Smith]. Then, to have John Hurt with us, as well, was a little treat. But I certainly would never have imagined that Iâd be back in âDoctor Whoâ full-time, as it were, and sort of back doing the same job I did all those years ago. It was like being given this delightful, surprise present. Russell T Davies was back as showrunner, Catherine Tate [former on-screen companion] was back, and it was sort of like the last decade and a half hadnât happened.
Going forward, Ncuti Gatwa will be taking over as the new Doctor. Have you given him any advice while passing the baton?
Oh God, what a force of nature. Iâve caught a little bit of him at work and itâs pretty exciting. I mean, what advice would you give someone? You can see Ncuti has so much talent and energy. Heâs so inspired and charismatic. The thing about something like this is: itâs the peripherals, itâs not the job. Itâs the other stuff that comes with it, that I didnât see coming. Itâs a show that has so much focus and enthusiasm on it. Itâs not like Ncuti hasnât been in a massive Netflix series [âSex Education,â] but âDoctor Whoâ is on a slightly different level. Itâs cross-generational, international, and has so much history, that it feels like it belongs to everyone.
To be at the center of the show is wonderful and humbling, but also a bit overwhelming and terrifying. It doesnât come without some difficulties, such as the immediate loss of anonymity. It takes a bit of getting used to if thatâs not been your life up to that point. I was very lucky that when I joined, Billie Piper [who portrayed on-screen companion, Rose] was still there. Sheâd lived in a glare of publicity since she was 14, so she was a great guide for how to live life under that kind of scrutiny. I owe a degree of sanity to Billie.
Your characters are revered by a few different fandoms. Sci-fi fandoms are especially passionate and loyal. What is it like being on the end of that? I imagine itâs a lot to hold.
Yes, certainly. Having been a fan of âDoctor Whoâ since I was a tiny kid, youâre aware of how much it means because youâre aware of how much it meant to you. My now father-in-law [who portrayed Doctor Who in the 80s] is someone I used to draw in comic strips when I was a kid. Thatâs quite peculiar! Itâs a difficult balance because on one end, you have to protect your own space, and there arenât really any lessons in that. That does take a bit of trial and error, to an extent, and itâs something that youâre sometimes having to do quite publicly. But, it is an honor and a privilege, without a doubt. As youâve said, it means so much to people and you want to be worthy of that. You have to acknowledge that and be careful with it. Some days thatâs tough, if youâre not in the mood.
I know youâre returning to the stage later this year to portray Macbeth. Youâve previously voiced the role for BBC Sounds, but how are you feeling about taking on the character in the theater?
Iâm really excited about it. Itâs been a while since Iâve done Shakespeare. Itâs very thrilling but equally â and this analogy probably doesnât stretch â itâs like when someone prepares for an Olympic event. It does feel like a bit of a mountain and, yeah, youâre daring to set yourself up against some fairly worthy competition from down the years. Thatâs both the challenge and the horror of doing these types of things. Weâve got a great director, Max Webster, who recently did âLife of Pi.â Heâs full of big ideas. Itâs going to be exciting, thrilling, and a little bit scary. Iâm just going to take a deep breath.
Before we part ways, letâs discuss the future of âGood Omens.â Gaiman has said that he already has ideas for Season 3, should it happen. If you were to do another season, is there anyone in particular youâd love to work with next time around or anything specific youâd like to see happen for Crowley?
Oh, Neil Gaiman knows exactly where he wants to take it. If youâre working with people like Gaiman, I wouldnât try to tamper with that creative void. Were he to ask my opinion, that would be a different thing, but I canât imagine he would. Heâs known these characters longer than me and whatâs interesting is what he does with them. Thatâs the bit that Iâm desperate to know. I do know where Crowley might end up next, but it would be very wrong if I told you.
[At this point, Tennant picks up a pencil and starts writing on a hotel pad of paper.]
I thought you were going to write it down for me then. Perhaps like a clandestine meeting on a bench in St Jamesâ Park, but instead youâd write the information down and slide it across the tableâŚ
I should have done! I was drawing a line, which obviously, psychologically, I was thinking, âSay no more. Youâre too tempted to reveal a secret!â It was my subconscious going âShut the fuck up!â

hi omg i loved ur hcs for ethan landry as ur bf <333 do you think you could write something like that, but for tate langdon, please?
TATE LANGDON AS YOUR BOYFRIEND â Ë・âŕ¨ŕ§

ďżź SFW !!
TATE LANGDON AS YOUR BOYFRIEND . . . is like meeting someone whoâs not like anyone youâve ever met. there are no duplicates, copies or a person even remotely similar to the dark eyed boy.
thereâs always been something about his odd personality that has a strange charm to it. heâs always held himself up to his own standards and even back before the entire westfield high situation heâs been very picky about his living style and the people he surrounds himself with.
so therefore when he met you, the stilled silence to his violent tornado, it was as if everything else in the world dimmed and the spotlight shone to you.
he would never leave you alone. not when you move rooms, not if you try to have people over, not when you stormed into the backyard and sat under the flickering moon as you desperately grasped for alone time. not even when you go to the bathroom.
the second he came into your life and you allowed him to, privacy no longer existed. the only time he would ever leave was if he had his own emergency to partake to or if your guardian(s) were around.
at first it was cute, you couldnât really deny the fact that having a boyfriend so attached to the hip and dependent made your heart flutter in some sort of way. but you quickly learned that even as dreamy as it sounds itâs not all that great.
if you run to the bathroom and lock yourself inside the langdon boy is fast to follow suite, confused on where or what you were running from until he watched you shut the restroom door and he slid his back against it; knees brought up to his chest as he patiently waited for you to come back out. and trust me, he will wait. doesnât matter if itâs hours or even half of the day. he wonât move an inch.
you hardly invite friends over but the few times you do youâre fast to regret it. you tell him your friends coming over, hoping heâll take the hint to leave, and heâll only blankly stare at you; face devoid of any emotion as he mutters a gentle âohâ before returning to looking through your collections of whatever it is you have an abundance of. maybe books, cdâs, vinyls, comics, posters, crystals/rocks, stuffed animals, funky socks or a hoard of animal bones; thereâs nothing in your room tate hasnt gotten his hands on.
even after you alert him of the approaching company unless you plan on shoving him out or repeatedly asking him to leave he doesnât plan on going anywhere. heâs terrible at reading social cues and you have to spell out the simplest things for him.
heâs quick to judge your friends, not one of them is good enough for you in his mind and heâll be sure to voice that. sometimes even straight to their face; with a blank expression and no emotion behind his eyes. it doesnât matter how close or how long youâve known someone, could even be your whole life, theyâre not good for you like he is.
he often says the most terrible and disgusting things about them to your face, judging you heavily for the people you hang around and making you feel insecure.
he is definitely the type to drive wedges in between all of your relationships. just with your friends at first but as the relationship furthers he begins to do the same to your family too.
obviously he canât leave the house but if there was ever a time you ranted about someone you dislike, hurt your feelings or overall anything spoken poorly about them he would remember it till halloween and carefully map out their murder. i mean, you wanted them to die right? why else would you tell him about it?
tate is extremely oblivious to your emotions. he loves you so much and itâs clear to him you must be meant for each other. so no matter how you feel back, reciprocated or not tate would assume you liked him too. he refuses to be in the friend zone and throws a hissy fit if you ever even try.
as we all known heâs one of the prettiest criers out there and this is very useful when it comes to manipulating. he knows you have a weak spot for seeing his tears and now anytime you try to lecture him, kick him out or he feels as though youâre not understanding his (rather malicious) side of the story the tears are quick to fall. but the tricky thing here is that they are always real tears of sadness and regret; itâs just as though heâs reprogrammed himself to cry at any minor inconvenience.
his favorite cuddle position is spooning and he often likes to be the little spoon. no one in his life has ever cared for him enough (or at least in his eyes they havenât), and when you have your arms securely around him, pulling him into you; itâs like heaven on earth. he feels so safe, warm and comforted. there are of course days where the rolls switch but thereâs really no denying he prefers to be the one being spooned.
id definitely say heâs a sort of pathological liar and even when he doesnât mean for it to happen lies fall from his mouth as easy as tears stream from his eyes. it could be about the stupidest shit or it could be actually serious as he tries to work his way out of a situation heâs actually at fault for.
this makes it really hard to trust him, because itâs eerily scary how easy it is for him to lie straight to your face with even blinking, or come up with excuses on the spot. i know people like to claim theyâre usually good at picking up when people are lying to them but with tate itâs a huge challenge. heâs unnaturally good at it and doesnât hesitate.
itâs not easy to pick up on his fibs in the moment but there are a few times youâre able to realize later on; as his stories donât add up or he forgot his lie in the first place and comes up with a completely different one when asked the same question from before.
and even then once he gets caught; deny deny deny. youâre the one in the wrong for accusing him of something like that when he just has a poor memory and suddenly youâre the bad guy for pointing fingers even though youâre the one with evidence and he just throws out empty accusations.
if you smoke i think heâd love to break into your stash a lot, he didnât use weed before his death but once you introduce him i see him as a sort of mini-stoner. heâll use your stuff without even asking. he kind of contradicts himself in that way because for the most part when he was still living he thought people who smoked or drank were stupid, ruining their body. he looked down on them. when youâre dead though you cant really destroy your body and though he still doesnât like drinking heâll indulge in smoking.
if you do any sort of after school activity or club heâll encourage you to quit, telling you how itâs all stupid and a waste of time that you could be spending together. if you refuse heâll try to sabotage it for you the best he can while being confined to the house. maybe sending a nasty email to your teacher/coach or by ruining a uniform or equipment you use.
thereâs definitely times when heâs asked you to drop out of highschool to which you immediately declined and thereâs not really much else he could do about this nuisance.
langdon will put you onto his likes and interests, music or movies he has a taste for. heâll try the stuff you like as well but heâs quick to judge and doesnât do second thoughts or tries. if he doesnât like it he wonât even pretend to and will harsh out negative reviews before you turn it off. and then heâll act confused on why you suddenly stopped it but heâs very glad you did. he couldnât stand it.
and because of this when youâre hanging out itâs all about what tate wants to do. the music he wants to play. the things he wants to talk about and the films he wants to watch.
jealousy is a major problem for him and the mention of really anyone, but especially if itâs a guy, will have his blood pumping and his head spinning.
to him, he only has you. it should be the same way around, he absolutely hates that you have and know other people that arenât just him.
tw? â if you ever try to leave him he goes all out and puts on the most dramatic show youâve literally ever seen. throwing himself against walls, screaming and crying his eyes out, burying his head in his knees and clutching at his hair while begging and pleading for you to stay. he doesnât get angry at all but turns more pathetic and desperate as he clings onto you. lots of âill do betterâ, âyou canât leave meâ, âtell me what I did wrongâ and âyouâre all I haveââs leaving his lips. if this doesnât work heâll harm himself in front of you, smashing his head against the wall or even using a sharp tool to cut into his arm while only asking one thing. âis this what you want?â
tw? â itâs a very draining relationship and can impact your mental space a lot. if you self harm he will catch you eventually, whether itâs while in the act or the scars/scabs from after. heâll grab your arm (not assuming thatâs where you sh, just so he has a grip on you), asking you how you could be so selfish (which is his way of caring) and then asking you to cut him instead anytime you wanted to hurt yourself. this is obviously off putting and drives a wedge between you for a while, which he will trap you back by guilting you and apologizing. (even though he was completely serious when asking and still is.)
the blonde haired boy lives for your validation. heâs constantly asking for reassurance and pestering you with loads of questions. whether if itâs if you like his outfit to if you still had feelings for him or not.
heâs a huge listener than he is a talker and could sit for hours, happily criss crossed and a toothless and content smile on his face while you go on about every little detail of your day.
heâs definitely asked you to do his eyeliner before but would rather die (again) than have anything else applied to his skin. it would cripple his masculinity.
overall heâs very touchy, craving for any contact he can get with you. resting his head on your shoulder, holding hands, his hand on your thigh or pinkies intwined. he always has to be touching you in some way.
recommending books and songs are one of his all time favorite things to do and he does expect you to read or listen to all of his suggestions. heâll ask you about it a few days later after initially suggesting it and will get upset if you still havenât looked into it.
tate hardly gets angry, heâs very sensitive as we all know and most of the time it ends in his hysterical sobs; but when the fire inside him lights itâs terrifying.
if you werenât the one to make him angry youâd usually be okay, heâd rant about it to you while you played with his hair; describing all of the horrendous ways he wanted to see the person or thing heâs mad at crash and burn. if heâs angry at you itâs like he moves on his own, putting you in a chokehold and slamming you against the wall, yelling and pointing fingers at you. pushing items off your desks/dressers/shelfâs and you make him go away; scared of him hurting you. he wouldnât, not intentionally, but it was a very scary sight to see.
of course within hours heâd return, tears streaming down his face and begging on his knees for your forgiveness, arms latched around your legs as he sobbed into them and refused to let go until you forgave him.
as much as he loves you and wants you to be together forever, he would never purposefully go to the extent of killing you in the house so you could stay with him forever at the age you are. it sucks, he knows it sucks, but he does have a boundary set for that. he doesnât want you stuck there for the rest of your life. heâs just hoping youâll stay in that house with him willingly anyway. heâd let you go after crying his heart out for days, but heâd never let you forget him or move on. and being honest; he would probably start to regret the decision.
his love for you goes beyond words, it consumes him completely. he knows now his purpose. the day he died in that house and the years that passed waiting up to the day he met you.
he was made for loving you, in his own sick way. you are his entire heart.
NSFW !!
tate is a switch in the bedroom, but heâs so easy to dominate which makes him lead towards being more submissive. of course heâll be in his dominant moods, thereâs no doubt, but itâs laughable how easy it is to take control back over him.
he loves to overstimulate you, fucking you or relentlessly giving you head for hours, not giving you rest inbetween as you beg for him to stop through shattered moans.
(if youâre a female) â we all know about his mommy issues and he definitely incorporates that into the bedroom in some ways.
(if youâre a female) â heâs a tits man rather than ass and anytime youâre going at it your shirt has to be off, he doesnât care what size breasts you have all he wants is to attach his mouth around your nipples and tease them with his tongue, sucking lightly before leaving hickeys all over them.
(if youâre a female) â he has the best fuck me eyes the worlds ever seen and when heâs bottoming he canât stop himself from calling you âmamaâ.
heâs very kinky, and he has put on the infamous leather suit before to fuck you. it makes him feel more powerful, like heâs in control.
when heâs topping heâll have one hand pinning one of your arms above your hand while using his other to interlace your fingers, crying into your neck with all the pleasure heâs feeling.
heâs not the greatest on cleaning up afterwords but he always snuggles you, cuddling up to you in a ball and resting his head soundly on your chest as his breathing slows and he drifts off.
but the most important thing to know â tate is godly at sex. he doesnât have the most experience in the world but he definitely wasnât a virgin by the time you met and he knows what heâs doing.

A petition to make more loser!reader/socially awkward!reader in fanfics? The kind that they believe it's hard that their fictional character loves them so much that they can't see what they find special in them. The literal reason why we come to websites like these to find comfort, because people now especially boys in this generation, Gen Z think it's okay to treat girls they don't find conventionally attractive bad and that it makes girls question their worth.
I wanna see myself as powerful and dominating in fanfics, but it hard to do so when I never once had a romantic interaction with a guy before in my life or know how I would be in a relationship.
And yes not every reader is shy, majority can be outgoing. But not every reader is outgoing. You can write a good shy!reader without making it cringey or making them insufferable. That's all. Thank you love you guys!

The season's second episode features appearances from both David's son Ty and his father-in-law Peter Davison, with the latter play biblical figure Job and the former playing his son Ennon.
However, David has revealed that he didn't find out about Ty's casting until after the fact, when he was shooting on the new season.
Speaking with Variety, David said: "I don't know how that happened. I do a bunch of self-tapes with Ty, but I don't think I did this one with him because I was out of town filming Good Omens. He certainly wasn't cast before we started shooting. There were two moments during filming where Neil [Gaiman] bowled up to me and said, 'Guess, who we've cast?'"
David continued: "Ty definitely auditioned and, as I understand it, they would tell me, he was the best. I certainly imagine he could only possibly have been the best person for the job. He is really good in it, so I don't doubt that's true.
"And then my father-in-law showed up, as well, which was another delicious treat. In the same episode and the same family! It was pretty weird. I have worked with both of them on other projects, but never altogether."

Lawrence of Arabia (1962) dir. David Lean
#Lawrence of Arabia#filmedit#perioddramaedit#loaedit#*#*gif#okay a few things#1) I love love love Peter O'Toole's line reading of ''I don't want to be part of your big push''#2) I love how this conversation figuratively and literally opens old wounds#3) Dryden calling Allenby's attention to the wounds without showing to Lawrence what he's doing#4) ''I have no Arab friends'' the man with the messiah complex is denying his proverbial disciples#(a reversal of the disciple Peter's denial of the Messiah)#5) ''I just want my ration of common humanity'' tying in with the themes of god complexes/messiah complexes vs. well. common humanity#(a few lines earlier we have ''The truth is I'm an ordinary man'')#anyways. you guys heard of this movie? it's really good
