i know we’ve passed this but i’m going back to it. the “fifteen cries at everything” thing actually gets me so mad because it makes me think no one watched the devil’s chord and saw how ncuti made the largest smile ever look painful. this man was talking about how he lost his entire family in a war and he was STILL smiling.

HE DOES NOT JUST CRY!!! YES, I ADMIT HE STILL CRIES A LOT, BUT IF YOU ANALYSE THE MOMENTS HE CRIES, HE ACTUALLY CRIES WHEN SOMETHING CATCHES HIM EMOTIONALLY OFF GUARD!!!! WHEN HE WASN’T PREPARED FOR SOMETHING TO HAPPEN OR AFFECT HIM!!! HE STILL HAS A FAÇADE A LOT OF THE TIME, LIKE HE HAD ONE DURING THIS DISCUSSION BECAUSE HE WAS READY FOR THE PAIN!!! HE SAW IT COMING!!!

THATS CHARACTER NUANCE! THAT’S NOT JUST CRYING FOR THE SAKE OF IT!

Happy 20th anniversary to the reboot of Doctor Who and its pilot episode Rose!

I cannot believe it’s been 20 years! I still remember the announcement of it returning to our screens like it was yesterday. It still feels like yesterday sometimes. I was so bloody excited. Growing up on reruns I was a Tom Baker girl (still am at heart), and was so looking forward to seeing what the rebooted series would do. It did not disappoint. I fell in love with Christopher Eccleston. I will still whisper “Are you my mummy” in a creepy sing song voice whenever the occasion calls for it (spoilers, it never does, but I do it anyway). The show reignited my long dormant passion for Doctor Who. When David Tennant came along it began a near 20 year obsession. And introduced me to new actors and their associated work. Doctor Who is amazing. It is joyful. It is fun. And will always be a part of me!

So here’s to 20 years of one of my all time favourite shows! How lucky we are that we still get to watch this wonderful and miraculous show! What beautiful hands the Doctor is currently in with Ncuti Gatwa. What a privilege it was to see Christopher Eccelston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi and Jodie Whittaker also bring The Doctor to life! May we get 20 more years (and beyond)!
