Me rereading MDZS and having some horror flashbacks about dark shits in this novel just made me realize Skybound comic is kind of lame and childish in comparison.

Transformers brutally killed humans and other transformers??? Lol, tame shit. A demonic arm sucked people dried, a walking statue chomping on human remains, people got sucked into the wall of a haunted building and basically became some form of seal to guard a bunch of magical swords with dark energy. Oh wait, there are much worse shits in the novel.

One species decided to genocide other species for resources? Lol, snoring... MDZS has multiple of them but at smaller scales. However, the reasons for those genocides were very very nefarious that they were just ploys for power grasping.

Revenge and war made you fucked up? I mean if the aftermath of a war was almost everyone who was on board with killing off the renmants of their former enemy as inhumane as possible or apathetic to the suffering of the war prisoners/refugees. Plus, the guy that thought the new "social norm" to use your so-called defeated enemies (that were mainly elders, the peaks, women, and children) as life baits was bad and suddenly he became a boogieman of the society and hated by almost everyone...

Skybound Shockwave is horse-ass at depravity and villainy compared to Xue Yang. And we don't talk about walking waste of a character Skybound Starscream.

Skybound Soundwave? A weakass low-level green tea bitch that should lick the floor where Jins Guangyao walked on.

Skybound Arcee with her rebrand TFP revenge plot but with a father figure??? Besides that neat bonding with Carly, she's a way less cool Jin Ling that reminds everyone about how she felt terrible for her obsession with revenge too much even when the plot didn't ask her to.

Ratchet? If Wen Qing is less cool and barely contributed shit to the story before getting fridged off in the most anticlimactic way to shove a high stake onto the Autobots.

I don't need to compare Optimus Prime to Wei Wuxian because that would be a foul play.

Also, there's no one in Skybound matches the absolute loser's behavior and resentful energy from Jiang Cheng in the most exquisite way. (Starscream after issue 13 kinda similar to Jiang Cheng but sadly Starscream is death cockroach compared to Jiang Cheng)

It's fun to compare a great piece of work that embodies the "More than meet the eyes" motto better than franchise capitalized that motto themselves, lololol.

The End and the Vast definitely have a close intersection point in the idea of meaninglessness, of humanity on both an individual and global scale not really having any impact much beyond our inevitably ending lifespans. The fact that that overall tends to make the avatars of both decide to just become funky and have a good time, instead of getting deeply morbid and spooky, really has something to be said for it I think. Something doesn't have to big-M Matter to still matter enough to be worth doing! Have fun with it! Give advice to an unconscious stranger! Throw a guy into the sky! Live in the moment! :)

Thinking about how when I was in middle school I thought I was the most original person in the world for coming up with the idea of cave elves in some intense political fantasy story I was writing only to find out that I did not in fact come up with the concept of cave elves and the high political drama of elves bring displaced and crammed into cities and discriminated against was literally exactly the setup of dragon age origins

#i was soooooooo mad when i played dao the first time bc i was like FUCK MY IDEA ISNT ORIGINAL ANYMORE #my world was basically dragon age but closer to the industrial revolution and with cave elves instead of regular elves #they were displaced from the caves they lived in because the surrounding cities wanted to mine for raw materials bc of the new high need for #metals due to the changing technology #so after displacing the elves they then hired all the elves as extremely underpaid and exploited miners #my story took place one generation later so now theres a bunch of cave elves who were born in the city and their perceptions of home are #different from their parents bc theyve only ever known the caves as a source of money and also torment #but thats all just the backdrop for the actual story that would be taking place which was all about learning to trust and finding a personal #identity once you heal from your traumas

You know, ngl, Niles kinda carries the entire show

#It’s an ensemble cast obviously and it wouldn’t be the same without everyone there #But like when I’m looking for the heart and soul of the show I’m not looking at Fraiser sorry man #I feel bad cause I do like Fraiser #but the show suffers from the inability to let their main character change and grow and learn which sort of makes Fraiser #A background character in his own show which yes I know is very ironic #I’m in the later seasons now I just finished season seven and when I’m looking for the heart of the show it’s Niles #Niles and Fraiser's relationship #Niles and Daphne's romance etc #But I don’t think Niles shouldve been or should be the MC I think it works as Fraiser being the person through which the story is told #I’m aware of how ironic that is bc Fraiser sees himself as the MC and the MVP but maybe that’s the point. In being the main character #He serves now instead as a backdrop and force of nature for his brother's story and growth #Idk just some thoughts #fraiser #Fraiser Crane #niles crane

The wizard Merlin

A game I was in ~2020-2022 that's on indefinite hiatus was 10th Kingdom esc. fairy tale/Disney/folklore themed game where we were collecting old magic artifacts to protect them from the evil fey king. (An example of these artifacts would be the jewel box that the huntsman was supposed to bring Snow White's heart in.) Merlin was our questgiver and we used his tower as a base of operations, while his apprentice came with us as a DMPC. (I do have a mini of the apprentice too, but haven't finished painting him.)

Mini was made using Hero Forge, and hand painted by me.

The degree of RAGE I feel every time I listen to an interview with and/or about a nonbinary person/character, and the interviewer just is allergic to they/them pronouns. Like. My dude. My good bitch. My brother in Christ. The whole POINT of this conversation is the enby thing. How are you failing THIS badly?!

#this dude bringing up an enby actor to an enby actor and using ONLY she/her pronouns for like two straight minutes #they should not HAVE to say ‘them. them.’ to correct you. you should be SO on that #I mean do better in general but ESPECIALLY in these circumstances #it’s so apparent when people just. refuse to try. and it’s fucking infuriating #also for this man to be talking about a movie that is LARGELY about gender expression and being nonbinary #and just be constantly reducing it to a 'love story'#like. no. it's not that. i mean you can take that out of it if you like (that man was AWFUL so i choose to uh. not.)#but the story was ABOUT gender. and gender presentation. and gender identity and looking a certain way but BEING a different thing inside #and to reduce that to 'a love story' to ensure this story is given half to this man who frankly does not narratively deserve it #is such a dude thing to do. to write and then to see in the finished product. whereas a queer person. an enby person. is gonna be like.#well. LOT more going on there actually. the 'love' is a weird complex backdrop for the actual things going on.#anyway. apparently that's my soapbox for the day #just reminds me of a few famous queer female movies where the story inevitably becomes ABOUT the bland white man who somehow convinces them #to sleep with him/date him/whatever. like. i. hated those movies as a teen and i hate them now. let non-men have their stories without dude #if they must be there do NOT pull the focus from the non-men to make sure the cishet boys aren't left out. this isn't for you. stop it.
