been very nostalgic for w359 lately. i think a huge part of why it has such staying power for me is that you can pick any two of the eight or so main crew members at random and go "oh those guys had a dynamic of all time." cause they did.

i love dnp doing math--dan was sort of right in saying that phil did 'whatever multiple of 4' combinations to get the final order correct. in reality it's a factorial (you choose 1 of 4 options, then 1 of 3, 1 of 2, 1 of 1) so you get 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 (or also: 4!) technically speaking, it is a mutliple of 4. (4 x 12) phil did a lot of shuffling but he didnt say 24 different permutations 😂

i would kill my first born for your take on a julian/fab fic just saying

LMAOO well u might regret that depending on how sad it gets.....my pet characterisation of them that im semi-serious about is that fab has an unrequited crush on julian, who's in love with albert but thinks albert doesnt love him back. theres kind of a sliding scale of soap opera-ness in terms of where you can go from here my mutuals and i cooked up this hysterical plot w a whole soup of unrequited loves..fab knowing full well that julian's only in bed with him because he wants albert but doesn't think he can have him and being too helplessly in love to refuse his advances. julian..kind of knows this. but neither of them are going to stop. <3 nick's got his own unrequited crush on fab going on at the side. it's hilarious.

there's another similar wip where albert and julian are in a situationship and albert notices that fab has a crush on julian and blah blah julian hooks up w fab then all three of them are forced to confront their feelings and get together.

fab to me is a big fucking romantic who, especially when he was younger, was a little afraid of overstepping and taking more than he was given. he'll know how he feels and worry too much to be able to do something about it. he's just happy for anything they'll give or do to him. (this little hint of fab's apparent self esteem or identity issues is very interesting to me..😁)

ohh and i'm very fond of the thought of teenaged fab/julian/nick because of this anecdote from the meet me in the bathroom book (apparently) about fab wanting to be friends with julian and nikolai so bad he lied and said he could play the drums. it's nikolai in the anecdote but i was talking about this with my friend who lovess nick so we changed it to nick for fun HAJFJWBD. (although in the meet me in the bathroom book fab says he was always chasing after julian and nick at school so it still works!! ^-^) fab/julian/nikolai though......woozy emoji. we'll get to that permutation eventually im sure. for now..the thought of fab lying in their laps with julian absentmindedly petting through his hair while julian and nick bicker about their songs. isn't that just so special.

i'm afraid i don't really have anything fab/jules exclusive fab's always in a polycule. he just deserves all the love and kisses ever one person isn't enough he needs to be smothered in them!!!! he's their resident pet dog. to me. <3

Ultimate Until Dawn Shipping Showdown

There have been millions of polls for favourite ships in Until Dawn already, I know, but the go-to poll format usually means that if you want to vote for a less popular ship your vote kind of gets wasted and the numbers get skewed

I am just the exact type of nerd who desperately wants to see the more detailed stat breakdown of things like this, so I had to take matters into my own hands

I put together a preferential voting poll instead

The way it works is that you order all the ships from favourite to least favourite. When the results are calculated, the ship with the least number of votes will get knocked out of the running, BUT! Instead of throwing away those votes, that person's second choice is counted instead. This keeps going until all the votes have been redistributed enough times to give an ultimate majority vote winner

The poll will be open for a week, I'll post the results then (assuming anyone actually voted)

i'm not saying that Criminal Minds is like a revolutionary show like i am fully aware of its flaws but the show does Found Family so well. The show takes the time not just to develop each of the characters individually to give them a rich and varied backstory and character arc but also takes the time to build individual bonds between each them in unique and distinct ways, which is extremely rare for an ensemble show.

They have such real and tangible bonds not just as a cohesive group but also with each in a way that doesn't feel forced or scripted but deep-rooted and dug into your heart. It's an ensemble show in the purest sense, and every single character is meaningful and noteworthy and i just - i am in no way pretending that there isn't something off-kilter about finding a show centred around a FBI Team hunting serial killers to be comforting, but goddamnit Criminal Minds is a comforting show.

When I first try to come up with a name for my Disassembly Drones, I look up the whole alphabet and pointed out J, N, and V’s name

J is the 10th letter in the alphabet

N is the 14th letter in the alphabet

V is the 22nd letter in the alphabet

From J to N, they have 3 letters gap. From N to V, they have 7 letters gap. I didn’t mind the HUGE gap between N and V at first because I believe a single squad of DDs sent only contains 3 members. And that’s where my own squad got their names.

G is the 7th letter in the alphabet

K is the 11th letter in the alphabet

S is the 19th letter in the alphabet

And then this new Drone came in the second episode “Heartbeat”. And I tried to speculate who they are, with the pattern I once come up for the DDs, wanna know what I got? N O N E. J, N, and V and then this anonymous drone, I tried 3-7-3, my brain screamed how out of place the pattern looks. I tried 3-7-7, obviously…no

Then I put the HUGE gap between N and V’s letter into consideration, and they have 7 letters gap, right? If we make the pattern to 3-3-3 instead

So the Crunchyroll newsroom isn't a "room" so much as a Slack channel. We have news writers all over the US, in Australia, and in Japan. This means we have something akin to 'round-the-clock coverage, but it also means that our schedules respective to each other are skewed. For example, when the East Coast contingent is starting their day, the Japan contingent is shutting down for the evening.

Because of that, we started experimenting with greetings that could apply when Party A was coming in for the morning and Party B was leaving for the night. One person came up with "konbarning": a combination of "good morning" and "konban wa" ("good evening" in Japanese). It stuck.

Over the following months, "konbarning" got shortened to "barning" and other permutations. Now, a year or some later, this is how we announce our arrival:
