sometimes i think about how the acotar books could've been a great way to show that "love doesn't heal trauma" rather than whatever points sjm was trying to make about abusive relationships and sa. instead of tamlin being abusive, she could've written that feylin's individual traumas kept them from reaching out to each other. or that feyre felt suffocated by the perfect, idyllic and alive spring court when she felt the opposite on the inside. or that tamlin felt overwhelmed by the sudden influx of responsibilities as he's trying to rid himself of the nightmares from utm. they try to make it work. they try to replicate some of the dates and dances from book #1 but there's an almost tangible shadow over their relationship now. and maybe one day feyre sees a memorial for andras or a likeness to one of the high fae living in the spring court to one of the high fae she killed utm, and has a panic attack. and this serves as the catalyst that severs feylin's relationship and reveals that yes, their love broke a curse, their love saved prythian but it couldn't (and shouldn't) heal them.
#im not an analysis girlie i'd much rather rb the smart people in this fandom#but i couldn't stop thinking of this despite sarah's tendency to resolve all of her characters' traumas with dick#no need to retcon or character assassinate my bbgs#feyre could've had a whole plot to herself where she lived outside the bounds of a romantic relationship and discovered her abilities#there could've been reconciliation between her and her sisters (perhaps something that could start her healing)#hell you could even put the feysand mating bond in there and show once again that a magical love bond does not heal trauma#give them a fling that rhysand stops because he knows she's trying to force it so she can feel healed#and its bare minimum but rhys actually sacrificing his desires on page and putting feyre's mental health above them gives him likable#qualities and shows that he truly cares about feyre and this could maybe start his redemption arc#this definitely spiraled but i think it would've been cool#anti sjm#anti acomaf

decided that in my own personal canon, Santiago’s maker looked similar to Louis, simply because Ben Daniels stated that Santiago was very likely in love with his maker. and wouldn’t it be some kind of torture to fall in love with the man who murdered your first vampiric love? to then watch him fall in love with another, who bears an eerie resemblance to that first love? to be witness to something tender and affectionate blooming, every moment a memory of how none of those you’ve adored have ever wanted you back? it would be agony. it would be torture. god, you would just hate them to pieces, loathing even as you loved them. and you wouldn’t know peace - not until the whole pack of them learnt the horror of love, just as you have.

I think I've become an official HI3 player. I check the HSR leaks hoping for iterations of HI3 characters now
#I have little hope about some of them. For instance the Su and Kevin voice actors are taken by Aventurine and the Trailblazer iirc?#Kalpas' voice actor does the male Dreamseeker in Part 2 of HI3 which is not as terminal considering HSR is a different game but still#Luocha thankfully exists. I don't think they'll be introducing Kiana anytime soon#I would love Sakura but I'm way more into PE Sakura than CE Sakura and then there's what they did with Miko#Some of my favourite things of PE Sakura they gave to Jingliu or Acheron already (freeze time‚ haunted and corrupted by loss‚#unable to unsheathe a sword and memories coming back to her when she does‚#piercing someone's heart with her sword but the other person living on with a new life‚...)#Thus an iteration of all that but with the cool things missing could get messy and unsatisfactory pretty easily#Mobius and MEI are similar to Mei and Herta so they're in a similar situation to PE Sakura#I find Griseo somewhat unsettling in a good way and in a way same with Eden. I love all the loss weighing on her as if she had already dead#with the concept of her being The Era itself and the era dying. So I wouldn't mind seeing them too#Hua seems like she may appear in the Xianzhou? Given the Marshall existence and that the Xianzhou drinks a lot of those concepts#Blade‚ Dan Heng and Jingliu drink so much of Fu Hua. I don't care about Hua though. The Herrscher I did like though#I'm curious about what they'll do#Other than the Chinese voice actor having already a steady job in Mihoyo‚ there's echoes of Kalpas in Blade‚ Arlan and Sam#so I really don't have much hope there. Not as little as with Kevin and Su perhaps but... yeah not really a lot of hope#Yet here I am. Hopelessly hoping for a Kalpas iteration. Imagine how beautiful the fire would be *sigh*#I was so mad about him being my favourite in HI3 but it just makes sense#Besides the Guzm.a process he went me go through‚ he truly has a lot of themes going on that recall Blade. I don't know...#I like his CN voice actor a lot‚ and how he plays Kalpas in particular‚ both when he's calm and when he's deranged#The Dreamseeker doesn't have the same voice at all unfortunately. Gushing about Gojo and Megumi and how they are or could have been everything to me I forgot to mention that I really really really love Yuuji. Like, a lot
#His attempt at reaching out to Sukuna‚ saving him and living with him#and how we see can see here and there moments in which he tries to reason with him from the very beginning#is one of my favorite things in JJK#It moves me a lot. It fits Yuuji a lot#But it fits the constant theme in JJK about how curses and people are not that different so much as well#Yuuji in the conditions of his existence looks at himself and then regards Sukuna#and the difference he sees is a faint line between them drawn out of merely being... lucky. I'm at the painful "confession" scene during the kage summit arc. It really is so emotional, but also... hm.
When I was younger, like 13 or so, I was a big Sakura and Naruto shipper. They were the first pairing I read fanfic for even. And in a way, I do still enjoy the two of them together... but it's moments like these that really drive home the fact that it Doesn't really work in canon. Not the way that it's set up.
As Sakura puts it, "Sasuke, Sasuke, Sasuke! That's all you think about!"
She's told that Naruto has feelings for her and decides to use it to convince him to stop going after Sasuke. She does love him, but not in the way she's trying to confess. The love they share is one of comradery, not necessarily romantic. The love of two people who have gone through such pain together, and who have leaned on each other throughout it all. And the fact that she's turning around and saying she loves him "simply like everyone else", now... it's trivializing. And the fact that she's trying to convince him of this, the fact that she thinks she Can convince him of this, is pretty hurtful. They've come a long way from when they were kids, Naruto the goofball vying for her attention while she yelled at him for being stupid. Sakura respects Naruto so much more than before, and Naruto respects her too. So the fact that she's still doing this... She's desperate, really. She thinks the promise he made to her to bring Sasuke home is what's driving him to let himself be hurt over and over and over again in the pursuit and protection of Sasuke.
But she's wrong.
That may be part of it, but it's only part. Naruto wants Sasuke back for himself, too. He let himself be beat up to avoid selling him out. He chases after him with single minded determination. Sasuke is his entire drive to get stronger, to catch up, to bring him home. Sasuke, Sasuke, Sasuke indeed.
As it is, Naruto knows she's lying to herself. And no matter what she says, he will keep going after Sasuke. Because that's just the person that Naruto is.

Observing naturally black hair in sunlight is funny because 50% of the time I'll be like "huh, the difference between that and my shade of dark brown isn't actually very big" and the other 50% it's "holy shit, not even comparable"

#I am thinking so much about that chair scene between Jack and Lacie that I can't even sleep and it's almost 13pm#But like... I love it and I hate it and I love it and I hate it and it's just *so* them#There's such a profound knowledge and understanding of the other hidden under a layer of total lack of knowledge and understanding#And I'd say it goes on and on for several layers. The lack of understanding and knowledge on the top over a layer of knowledge#over one of absolute lack of knowledge over one of profound understanding and etc etc#They're playing chess in that scene too. They're playing chess on so many levels#They're trying to prove each other but they also know the so they don't react as the other expects#which means they DO react as the other expects (with lack of interest!)#Lacie is proving Jack and perhaps trying to get rid of him since he has become an emotional nuisance by making him cross the line#But Jack knows this and so he is careful and doesn't react. We know his past. We know he excels at these games#But he knows Lacie and he knows he depends on playing this well to not be thrown away. He truly can't risk crossing any line. So he doesn't#He shows no interest but smiles as if it could mean something. He doesn't touch her but doesn't react bashfully either. He asks#And that‚ his vague reaction that could be everything and nothing and anything at all‚ his lack of reaction‚ proves Lacie right#Which proves Jack right. She was just testing him. And somehow he's failed#But he's failed by not failing because had he reacted any other way she would most likely had thrown him away#There was no way for either to win anything here. There was no way to pass the test#But this way he can stay. ( ooc )#( hi my brain still isn't quite here.........i think i need genuine alone time to Really recharge but i'm not gonna get that#work has really been piling on the hours; and next week is all closing shifts#but thinking about tsukasa saki toya found family / friends stuff..........how toya in any au would also just have connections with#EVERYONE ( this white day and jp white day cards )#akito and mizuki with tsukasa could be a huge bickering found family in a royal au........people please explore this more#the angst that could also come from mizuki going on a journey to find toya / saki / rui but also feeling like she doesn't belong on it#like in the sense that; while she wants to make sure rui is safe; she knows she probably can't change what he's become#and what if that's for the better in order for rui to find his own place and live his own life?? who would she be to take that from him??#the tsukasa and mizuki talks that come from them both knowing rui; but at two different angles..........#akito solely on a journey just to rescue toya; not initially caring about tsukasa's connections to him but then slowly growing fond of#Story Time; “only i truly know toya” says the man that's now grasping at any mention of him#realizing other people can have......well Other People in their lives that they share different experiences with#or that are just as impotant of bonds or experiences#i wanna call it “the folly of knight tsukasa” since he's just. so connected.#of course his main trough line is saki. stayed with her no matter what; doesn't want to stop doing that#but now seeing her with different views as him and striding on her own.......who am i to stop her from happiness part2#there are no concrete thoughts here; just thoughts#kind of like knights ( tsukasa / mizuki / akito ) versus outcast alchemists / magic ( toya / rui / saki )#maybe magic banned..........or perhaps Dangerous magic#saki being so close to nature and strong healing magic; but her sickly body makes it so hard on her#some royal “she should be in the palace” / tsukasa “no she needs to have tea parties with her friends; not starve her body for you”#some royal “many blinking emojis”#toya having like dark magic that he's never really learned about / awakened until his father puts so much stress on him#rui ( royal researcher ) helping him control it but also wield it ( for himself and toya )#toya's dad upon finding out sending him into death; tsukasa helps with an absolute exile / run away type plot instead#tells saki to go with toya so he can keep her safe and out of the royal's minds#the king gets injured by frantic akito and mizuki thinking he's offed their best friends#king uses this opportunity to put out a public manhunt on his son since he wanted him dead anyways#tsukasa freaks and gives up his honor to chase after toyaruisaki

The Benoit Solès versión is definitely my second favourite version for now! It's so funny at times, and they make some very interesting metanarrative choices. This is also my favorite Roxane by far
#Cyrano de Bergerac#I talk too much#I should probably delete this later#I have such a crush on this actress? She's cute and slightly flirty and sooo charming and spirited#Perfect truly#The scene when she is in the war is like 👀 madam#Also her costume there is gorgeous#The mingling of the Rostand the writer and Cyrano the character as author/writer/performer is so interesting#The nose being an actual obvious mask works so well in that sense but also with the duality of Cyrano and what the nose is for him#Motive of shame anguish and frustration but also a sort of wall behind which to hide#An excuse for not daring on that which is most painful to lose#The fact that he takes it off when he says 'rêver' in the second act? Ugh#The way they did the cadets in that act was great too. How they almost went violent on Christian when he kept insulting Cyrano#How at some point they stop looking at Cyrano and pay more attention to Christian yet they go stand besides Cyrano as if to support him#It was a very nice background detail that really added to the feeling of them caring for Cyrano#Like how after they turned off the lights after the third act you could see Roxane and Cyrano struggling to part#their holding hands lingering#This Cyrano is at times perhaps a bit too sad for my liking in some scenes but he is very funny and at times very sweet#He has such tender fond gestures with Christian. The 'Mont donc‚ animal !' is said by him with fondness#as if touched by the fact that Christian isn't convinced by the entire thing anymore#The traveler of the moon scene is so particular in its staging. I still like the 1950 version more especially in some parts#(like how Cyrano keeps checking if the wedding is done and how funny that is done) but I actually loved it in this#The costumes are good too. Roxane's are gorgeous and I love the detail of the uniforms not being all exactly the same#The 1950 version has that too#I like the scene il act three between Cyrano and Roxane when she's telling him about Christian more in the 1950 version still#but I liked it here. I love that they did the fact that he gets anxious at first when she comments on him being jealous#And this may be a stupid detail but one of my favourite things about this version is that they made him be actually excited and tempted#by De Guiche's suggestion#The pompous acting and careless teasing attitude in general this Cyrano has showcase i think how very young he is#despite the actor not being so which is good too. I miss the scene with the girl giving him food which is I think important
