There is something deeply funny to me about the fact that, of people who pray the rosary (at least in the United States); the Catholics tend to be super conservative, and the Episcopalians/Anglicans tend to be gay.

Yes, that includes Taylor Swift. Especially after she became apolitical again. Her "activism" was just an era, now she actively hangs out with MAGA folks. She can sue small time Etsy sellers, but Trump apparently can spread an entire fake AI endorsement and she stays silent.

Not that her activism was impactful to begin with. She never said anything regarding Roe v Wade, has never said anything about trans rights, and her "feminism" only came out when it was convenient for her drama. Her LGBTQ allyship and YNTCD vid was borderline offensive in how stereotypical it was, and of course she made their struggles about how hard she has it with her "haters".

She had to call all these people in her Miss Americana to make sure it was okay to speak out, which is just hilarious because an actual ally wouldn't call her PR team, they would speak out because it is the right thing to do. They wouldn't declare themselves on the right side of history and brave for being pro-gay marriage literally over a decade after her contemporaries already stood up for the community (Lady Gaga was openly pro-trans rights at the very beginning of her career in 2009 for example)...

You don't get to declare yourself brave for being an ally when it is over a decade overdue, then renege on your activism and expect everyone to be okay with the fact that you are hanging out with people who support legislation that harms the LGBTQ community. This isn't about a difference of opinion, you don't get to plaster an entire era with rainbows and then be chill with someone who is okay with stripping trans people of needed healthcare and the ability to identify as they see fit.

She endorsed Kamala, so there is that at least, but she still stays conveniently silent on serious progressive issues and I still have a problem with her supporting people who endorse people who want to end LGBTQ+ rights. To me politics are a moral issue, and even growing up in the rural Midwest, I made a decision to not associate with bigots even if that made my circle smaller.

There's something laughable and really sad when non-Palestinian allies for Palestinian liberation like DiasporaPoet1 here who would rather centre unreliable allies like Norman Finkelstein while talking over Ghada Sasa, whose Palestinian, and lamblasting Palestinian-American author Rashid Khalidi for not being "radical" enough for them. It's not about actually listening to the oppressed, the Palestinian people for whom Palestinian liberation is literally life and death for them, it's about the aesthetics of revolution for these performative allies. If you are a non-Palestinian who claims to be an ally of Palestinian liberation, you don't get to tell Palestinians that they have "no idea how much determination and sacrifice it takes to do the actual work - and not tweet it". And how is you tweeting back at a Palestinian woman to defend a white guy doing the "actual work", hmmm?? Bitch shut up.

cody being a character that values order etc thriving (as much as anyone could) on kamino, an environment that appears to be highly structured and emphasises these qualities (in many ways then, cody is a product of his environment - these are qualities which were encouraged on kamino, and therefore in order to survive and, by extension perhaps protect his brothers, cody actively cultivated these qualities in himself). thus, on being faced with war (which as much as he may attempt to enforce it, lacks the order suggested by kaminoan training) cody is at a (relative) loss. as much as he tries to plan perfectly, to impose order on that which defies it, ultimately he cannot do so completely. his inability to protect those under his command completely, to cody, appears as a personal failing (he can no longer exercise or rely on order / structure to protect those around him, the war cannot be controlled by him). therefore, whilst cody is a highly capable tactician and commander, in order to protect himself from the pain of losing brothers through (what is to him) his own failing, he isolates himself socially. this of course only makes things worse. in this essay i will -
