Is it only me that gets a little upset when people say they miss the old Cas? They miss when he "had aura" and wasn't just "friends with the Winchesters". Like. The whole point is that he becomes human, he strays from heaven for Dean and learns what it means to LOVE. Like, yes, I wish he stayed as powerful as he was at the beginning throughout the show, but later seasons soft Cas that would do anything for the family he FOUND-his real one, not heaven-is everything to me.
#people do it with bucky too#why do you love the winter soldier when that was when bucky was at his worst?#abused and assaulted and manipulated against his will#is he cool and eerie and a little badass? sure#but bucky barnes is so much better when he is around Sam and his family and smiling#destiel#supernatural#dean winchester#castiel winchester#castiel#sam winchester#bucky barnes#marvel#the winter soldier

Steve Rogers was a lot of things, but a two faced son-of-a-bitch he was not, have some respect for his mother Sarah. Thank you very much.
What he was though, is a liar.
He has lied plenty, more times than he can even remember.
Every time he arrived home with a new bruise before his mom, and stayed in his room until she was gone again he said he was A-ok, only tired.
All the times Bucky asked if he was fine after a fight, and if he was having fun after another rejection by a pretty dame. He said he was just peachy.
When he was on death’s door he said it was nothing.
He lied more than what he was willing to admit (Steve from New Jersey ring a bell?)
Every time people expected him to be the ideal man with a plan, THE Captain America, he just faked a smile and performed how they wanted him to.
Lie, after lie, fake smile after fake smile.
He was so tired of pretending. At least he used to lie for better reasons before, and for himself.
He was what they needed him to be now, and more times than not people didn’t need Steve.
No one seemed to see HIM after being defrosted either: Steven Grant Rogers, the person behind Captain America. They only saw what they wanted to see and expected to hear.
Thats why he didn’t try and be friends with his teammates after the New York incident. Thats why he let them do those shitty “educational videos” for high schoolers.
Thats why he stayed alone for the most part.
(Nick Fury didn’t let him be either, what an asshole).
They needed him, they wanted him. But not really, right? Because Captain America is an ideal, a superhero. It isn’t HIM really.
Steve Rogers is only a man after all, tired, lonely, a sad man out of time.
Who would need HIM?
Thats why he tried to contact Peggy and have a somewhat relationship with her again. He didn’t care if it was based on “what ifs” at this point and that she was old. He needed something, someone from his past, anything at this point that made him feel like Steven Grant Rogers, human again. Maybe she would need him in some way?
Once he knew she couldn’t even remember him for the most part, he went back to square one.
He missed her, the old her. The strong independent woman that she was, and sometimes he lamented the fact he didn’t give her the coordinates in time. Maybe he would have had a good life with her by his side. If he only loved her so…
Maybe he wouldn’t feel like dying in this new scary and terrifying world every single day.
Thats why he came back alive when he saw Bucky again.
Bucky was his home, his everything, always was, always will be. He never thought he would have another chance to be near him again.
So he once again became Steve Rogers. Sure before Buck he was friendly with Sam and he had a cordial relationship with Nat. But after knowing of Bucky’s existence in the present (he’s alive, he’s here) did he became friends with them.
He fought with tooth and nails for Bucky, because he wouldn’t let anyone tear them apart again. Not even the man himself (not matter what Sam said about co-dependency. What did he knew anyways?)
When Buck wanted to stay in cryo Steve wanted to scream and cry in his face. But didn’t, because he knew Bucky needed it, needed to have his own choices and for them to be respected.
So once again he started to lie. He didn’t want to make his friends worry about him after all, he was fine. Bucky was the one that needed all the attention, not him.
Then… The battle of Wakanda happened and…
Never in a million years Steve would have thought he would lie to himself without knowing. But he did, and for literal years until present.
See? Steve didn’t know he was in love with his best friend until he lost him for the sixth fucking time. He knew he loved him, but not that he was in love with him. He didn’t realize, but even then he couldn’t admit it. He was terrified, so he replaced his name with Peggys, even on his mind.
That was safer, more “normal”. He knew people weren’t that homophobic anymore but… he wasn’t a regular Joe, right? No. That would be a disaster.
Even if he didn’t have the mantle of Captain America anymore, he was horrified. He didn’t even want to think about Bucky that way. So he started to lie to himself.
He has lied to everyone else for literal decades, what was lying to himself now?
And well… talking about deluding himself and lying… he couldn’t let himself think that Bucky and Sam were… they weren’t! They could change things, they needed to bring them back. Bring him back.
So they planned and they succeeded, for the most part (Only at the cost of one of his best friends and people he cared about).
Steve was so happy once he knew he had Bucky with him again (he’s fine, he’s alive). But he couldn’t forget about what he now knew about himself. And couldn’t let himself be distracted by any of that, after all there was also a hole Nat and Tony left on his heart, on everyone's hearts and lives (And Wanda wasn't stable anymore, he needed to fix that too).
He wanted to lie again, be comforting to Bucky, treasure him, but he only seemed awkward and cold. He was uncomfortable with his own feelings and on his own skin, and didn’t know what to do to fix things with Buck. (I love you, I'm in love with you please forgive me, I’m sorry).
So he once again fucked things up and tried to bring back Nat, Tony and Vision with him. Only… he didn’t discuss this with anyone else so he had no back up, nor help. No one knew of this plan of his after all.
He was on his own. On a prison cell for what it seems. (For the crimes of creating new alternatives timelines apparently, huh. Who would have thought that fighting and talking with himself from 2012 would lead him here. Trying to bring back the others didn’t help either).
This place was bare of anything recognizable, it was ugly and cold.
He was a man out of time once again.
Bucky probably hated him now, Sam too.
What a joke.
Everything was fucked up
For what they told him a “Skrull” (what is even that?) replaced him and everyone bought it, even Bucky. (And no, no no no... Bucky would notice, he would know!).
And would you believe it, he wasn’t the only fucker that was here too, huh. What a weird place.
So yes, Steve Rogers is a liar and a disaster…
and what a good companion that would be for Loki, the God of mischief, no?
So both tried their best to escape that fucked up prison.
Together.
#ok listen#I don’t know how to write and I did this as fast as I could bc I need to do other things#stucky#Steve rogers#steve rogers headcanon#Steve Rogers and Loki would be friends#bc I said so#more headcanos#This also corresponds with other headcanons I've been trying to write where Bucky doesn't believe Old!Steve was actually Steve#Sam would be too invested and overwhelmed by the mantle of Cap to actually think about something being wrong#Clint would also believe Old!Steve isn't Steve#Loki and Steve would have a rocky relationship at first and then would be like friend-enemies#They would be lil shits together tho and joke around at others peoples expenses#old!steve is a skrull#Steve Rogers is a liar#Steve Rogers has internalized homophobia#Also Steve did bring back Nat Tony and Vision only... Not to the present they are with him in prison only he still doesn't know that#Also I will make him bring back Pietro too bc I can this is my hc and bc he wants his child Wanda to be HAPPY#Fuck endgame and fuck AOU Pietro deserved better#Wanda actually has people that care bc they did NOT leave her alone Same with Peter idgaf they have a support system#So Wandavision? Nope not happening

I think The Avengers probably find it pretty easy to forget that Tony’s forte is building stuff. There’s probably an element of detachment to it all in their eyes because they’re like oh hey tony can I get some new hearing aids/ weapons / uniform and tony will nod and then A few days later it’s just kind of There. All shiny off the conveyor belt. Like okay so it’s sick that Tony can make that but did TONY make that, really?
And this train of thought continues subconsciously right up until they’re met with a situation in which they are reminded that oh yeah wait. Tony really can just do all that. Idk maybe they’re doing their whole avenging thing and end up in some random guy’s house and he apologises for the lack of lighting because there’s a leak and it’s messing with the electricity. And Tony is just like oh I can fix that for you. Then when Clint or Bucky or whatever raise their eyebrows he’s just totally baffled because ummmm I build my own flying suits but you don’t think I know how plumbing works??? Bitch????
#Tony stark#I think ALSO because few people will actually see him designing in action too. maybe they just kind of assume it’s a machinery thing#doing all the heavy lifting#and anyway tony is a big fat drama queen about it all and he forces Bucky to come down to the workshop and stay there for 8 hours#Because NO ONE. NO ONE. will LIFT THEIR EYEBROWS and say that HE CANNOT PLUMB A HOUSE. EVER

“Don’t leave my sight again” for Kennedy and Bucky! Only if you want! I love your writing! <3
HI SWEET ANON!!!!! thank you so so much for popping this in the askbox and for the love on my writing! it means SO MUCH!! i had a lot of fun with this one - we went in a direction i wanted to explore a bit more with the kennedy x bucky dynamic, especially their ever-present bickering about sports with their (respective) red sox and yankees, hehe. i really enjoyed this prompt because i could still utilize the dynamic i wanted, but inject the prompt into the writing in a way that was more heartfelt and meaningful than anything, so, please enjoy!! :D
lips itching to grin

(a/n): kennedy x bucky girlies, we're back and better than ever and focusing on the early days again with these two, specifically in the ever-present baseball rivalry (with a side of heartfelt and slightly flirty banter that neither side may or may have not predicted.....). ps: there's a whole lot of baseball references in here along with a deep dive into the red sox and yankees baseball almanac of 1942 players, as (to preface) they discuss a yankees x red sox game from 1942, with some of their own perspectives (though we enter the conversation in the middle lol). please enjoy!!! <3333
"Alright, well, runners on first and second, game-tying run at second, bottom of the 5th," Kennedy started, as she watched Paulina offer one of the newer replacements a dance as Billie Holiday sung with those swing trumpets over their heads, "you got Joe DiMaggio coming up with two outs. Dick Newsome's already at 78 pitches."
"Easy," Bucky offers as Paulina and the replacement move out towards the center of the floor and start dancing - Kennedy likes seeing her smile, "DiMaggio hits an RBI double and makes it to second base. Then you ain't even tied up anymore. Score's 4-3."
"But," Kennedy started, glancing upwards at him with a look as she tilted her head, a smile on her cheeks, "you got Charlie Keller up next. Getting to that point in your roster where it gets a little….hairy."
"Says the one with Joe Cronin on your-"
"Focus." Kennedy said snapping in front of his face, bringing a smirk onto his lips as he looked back at her, "We're talking about the fucking Yankees right now, Bucky."
"Don't call them the fucking Yankees."
"They're the fucking Yankees to me, got it?" she said and she watched Bucky turn from his position leaned up backwards against the bar to actually facing her, "What?"
"You get really passionate about your Red Sox, huh?" he said, leaning his hand up against the side of his face and watching her, "I'd hate to mess with you-"
"You already have." she told him in a sing-song voice as she turned and took a sip of her beer and looked out to the dance floor again, "Try growing up as the only girl in a house full of brothers. You either play baseball or you are the baseball, I'm afraid." Bucky snickered at that and sipped his own drink - bourbon maybe, she could smell it on his lips from here.
"What the hell kinda baseball did the Farley brothers play?"
"Wouldn't you like to know."
"Clearly not that great of baseball, you're all Red Sox fans."
"Says the one who willingly became a Yankees fan."
"Willingly-"
"At least I grew up in the area! It makes sense!"
"Can't knock me, Yankees' got a fan all the way from Wisconisn - can't say the same about other teams now, huh?" Bucky said leaning towards her with a grin, "Gotcha there, huh?" Kennedy watched him.
"Bill Dickey comes up and goes out swinging," Kennedy said, staring him down, "Red Ruffing's taken outta the game. Atley Donald's up on the mound. Johnny Pesky's up to bat. Donald walks him. Tony Lupien comes up - an absolute bomb outta the field. Rest of the game is a no-go. Red Sox win. 6-4."
"For someone who despises the Yankees, you sure do know a whole lot about them." Bucky said, sipping his drink again, "It's cute. You trying to impress me with that Yankees stuff."
"I just know a whole lot about games where my Red Sox win," Kennedy mouthed back, the tops of her cheeks burning, "you'd know if I was trying to impress you."
"When's that happened?"
"Never."
"Huh."
"Exactly." she said, sending him a look and he smirked again, his eyes watching her in that manner they always seemed to, "What's that look for?"
"What'd you usually play?" he asked her, that lazy grin growing on his face, "C'mon, I know you were probably in a group of kids that got together to play. What were ya? No….let me guess. First base, you're pretty tall." She stared at him and raised a brow. "No?"
"What about this," she started, standing up straight and holding out her arms, "screams first base, huh?"
"Fine. Shortstop. Speedy, quick-witted-"
"I'll take that as a compliment."
"Don't get in over your head."
"Continue…." Kennedy said with a smirk.
"Shortstop." Bucky said, "Final answer."
"Ding-ding, you're correct," she said with a smile, "usually my older brother and I fought over that position. He usually gave in."
"You were convincing enough." Bucky said, sipping his drink again.
"I was better than him." she offered back, catching that look on his face, "What, like it's hard to believe?"
"Nah, nah," Bucky said shaking his head back and forth and grinning, before avoiding her questioning entirely, "you like hitting?"
"Usually was middle of the pack, sometimes cleanup, I flip-flopped." she said with a winning smirk, "Wasn't often I got cleanup though, my older brother, he's a fucking giant, like 6 foot 5 or something - Bobby - he usually could drive in any and all runners. Sometimes he let me in the spot. It was usually some stupid fight we'd have, but he'd let me have my ways sometimes. Which was nice." Bucky grinned at her again and she couldn't tell whether that was just how he decided to look at people or if there was something else going on behind those eyes and that smile. But she just left it for the time being and took to sipping her drink again.
An upbeat Ozzie Nelson beat came over above them, which immediately sent Kennedy thinking of home again - its summer, the windows are open, her mother's got the radio playing the music she always used when cleaning the house; a mix of Artie Shaw, Billie Holiday, Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman. Sometimes even some Ray Noble. Any sort of music as such would remind her of that time in her youth, racing around the house with her brothers, this music in her ears, the kitchen smelling like lemon soap and freshly scrubbed, the linens hanging outside, the sound of her mother sweeping and shooing away her brothers or their dog, Gunny.
"My ma loves this music," Kennedy said with a smile, looking out to the dance floor as people danced and clung onto one another, as if it were the only thing they had apart from those flying coffins - human touch, more important than anything when they were here, "she played it all the time at home."
"She a big band fan?" Bucky asked her, and she looked to him with a smile and nodded. The corners of his eyes grew soft - she noticed he did that sometimes when he was really listening to you; really, really listening. When she had first noticed it, she'd been taken back at the intensity with which he would watch and listen, but he did it so subtly she had never really noticed until now.
"Always has been." Kennedy said with a nod, "I mean, with five sons and one daughter, there isn't a whole lot of space to listen to quiet jazz, or…something or other. Everyone always wanted big band being played." Bucky let out a bark of a chuckle and then got quiet again, glancing her way with that cautious look painted on his face. He knocked her shoulder lightly.
"And you?" he asked her, a slightly playful look on his face, lips itching to grin again.
"What about me?"
"What do you like?" he asked her, "What does Kennedy Farley dance around to her when no one's looking?" Kennedy couldn't help but laugh, a real genuine laugh and shake her head.
"Usually Benny Goodman or Glenn Miller."
"Like mother, like daughter." Bucky said with a smile, "What's she doing now ya think? Your ma?" Kennedy shrugged, feeling slightly homesick at the thought of her Ma, at home, with all her children off to war, or college, or school, her husband off to work, leaving her in that big house all alone. Her stomach twisted unpleasantly and she couldn't fight the sad expression off her face.
"Probably getting dinner ready - she makes a damn good beef stew. Chop the carrots, onions, celery. Let the beef sit and marinate for a while. The whole house would smell almost like Christmas Eve," Kennedy said softly, before quirking out a grin, "waiting for Dad to get home from work." She stared at Bucky who watched her back. "Your ma?"
"Much of the same probably." Bucky said, leaning up against the bar and schooling his features evenly, "Cooking up dinner, waiting for my dad to get home." Bucky smiled almost bittersweetly. "Wish she didn't have to be there alone, ya know?"
"Yeah," Kennedy said quickly, her emotions warping with her intense want to berate him yet again over baseball, but her softer side took over and she looked at him, "I don't doubt though if I went home, she'd be telling me 'Don't leave my sight again.'" Kennedy said with a small smile. "Broke her damn heart for me to come out here. Only daughter. One of the youngest." Bucky watched her, his face quiet, his expressions even and he seemed at once, intently focused purely on her.
"She didn't want me to come." Kennedy told him honestly, feeling like if she didn't get it off her chest now, she never would tell a soul, "Here. Flying B-17s, being a gunner, getting my hands on a .50 cal. She hated the idea of all of it. But I guess she let me go because she knew it was what I wanted. What I needed. For me." She looked over at Bucky and saw nothing but that gentle, fond expression on his face. She smiled slightly. He smiled right back, almost instantly.
"Well, I'm glad you're here," he said, watching as her face morphed from sadness to mild surprise, to which he laughed at, "yeah, I swear to ya, Farley. I really am. Hey, who was it that saw you shooting that .50 cal back in training and hand-picked you for my gunners, alright?" She was quiet. "That was me."
"And then of course Birdie took you under her wing and the rest is history, but I didn't forget that at some point in time, you were one of my waist gunners," he said, knocking her shoulder lightly again, "a good one at that, you know that?" Just hearing Birdie's name made her heart squeeze.
"It's really nothing special-"
"You shot Expert, Farley," he said, holding her gaze with a firm look, "that sends eyes wandering, I promise ya."
Oh.
She watched him for a moment before her fingers were getting twitchy and she needed something for them and to get herself to look away from that look in his eyes.
"Cigarette?" she asked him, pulling from his gaze to dig her hand into her pockets and produce the slightly crumpled cigarette packet she always had on hand. He watched her before slowly nodding.
"Sure." he said, as she innately popped open the top and produced two cigarettes, sliding one onto her lip and the other into his own hands, "Thanks."
"The least I could do for a compliment like that." she said, almost bashfully, as he placed it on his lip with a chuckle.
"First time anyone's ever told you that?"
"People don't tell me a whole lot of things like that ever so," Kennedy started, before attempting to smile, "yeah, first time for everything" Bucky watched her curiously as he produced a lighter and leaned forward to light up her cigarette before doing his own.
"Really?" he asked her, almost surprised - why would he need to act surprised, why did he even bother to care? She nodded. Bucky watched her for a moment, fingertips drumming against his cigarette as he stared at her; his gaze not one she was entirely even turning away from or wanting to.
"Cleanup." She stared at him, raising a brow.
"Tell Bobby Farley that you shoulda been in cleanup in the lineup." Bucky said, turning towards the bar again and calling for another drink, "Shortstops are usually closer to the top of the lineup anyway, right?" Kennedy watched him, her heart pounding.
"Bucky-"
"I woulda put you in that clean-up spot any day of the week, believe me." he said, smiling at her, with a grin, before turning to the bar and getting his drink. And she recited deep from within her mind, something Bobby Farley had taught her well and good in their screaming matches - 4th slot in the lineup, cleanup spot, usually one of the more or most important players in the lineup; they're powerful, drive in runs and more than anything are one thing - consistent.
#OKAYYYYY#BUT THIS WAS SO FUN#i had been wanting to do this piece for a WHILE#like a straight up talking baseball piece#AND HERE IT IS!!!!#always the not-so-subtle flirting going on with this too like#yall#hellooooo#we see you and hear you loud and clear#the cleanup/shortstop compliment too?#yeah in baseball terms that's a pretty top tier compliment - people must trust u a whole lot#LIKE OK BUCKY I SEE U#(communicating in the sports language she thrives in best <3333 yelling about sports teams ahhhh true love)#kennedy u will always be iconic lets be fr#kennedy x bucky#kennedy farley#bucky egan#bucky egan x oc#john egan x oc#also hi: birdie faulkner mention !!!!!#and YES kennedy *was* a waist gunner for bucky a long while ago#I JUST THEM!!! just 1am thoughts but how fun would it be if when Dimension 20 returns to spire its following Bucky's adventuring party so they can keep doing things in the world and still respectfully retire the Bad Kids
#bc i dont think they'll make a rat grinders season from how fleshed out brennan made them#in the seven he EXPLICITLY played as Zelda bc he did too much to flesh her out and didn't want his players to feel trapped#but they could do the same thing with Brennan himself playing Bucky and then just make up the rest of his party#ive seen people try to figure out how they'd resolve the 'Buddy Kalina and Bakawrath' thing in the future#with Emily explicitly trying to retire Fig for good and how it would feel wierd to do another Bad Kids campaign without her#but honestly they can make it work#there are SO many adventuring parties in Aguefort#dimension 20#fantasy high#fhjy

Controversial opinion, maybe, but Sam Wilson and James Rhodes would be far more loved (to the considerable extent that characters like Bucky and Steve are) if they were white men.
...anyways.
#this is coming from a white person#but it's a thought i have often#i love steve and bucky so fuckin' much! i do#with all i am- they're some of my favourites and they're such comfort characters. always have been.#but i find so comparatively little content of sam and rhodey#and i'm always just like... it's because they're black men isn't it?#people are less inclined to make content of them- especially things like edits/fics/fanart centered AROUND them rather than featuring them#sam wilson#tfatws#the avengers#james rhodes#james rhodey rhodes#rhodey#the falcon and the winter soldier#i want to feel like i'm reaching here. but i don't think i am because i see this in so many other medias too#y'all just don't love black men enough and it shows so clearly#in films like black panther- they're black dominated films- so people are more inclined to pick a black character that they like in that#but in the Avengers or something similar- people have white characters to pick over the black characters#and they do. it's obvious.#i don't know if i'm the only person who's noticed that?#anyways.#thought rsmbles#i'm kinda toasted rn

There is something that I can’t understand and will never understand about fandom “culture”
Why EVERYTHING (or a lot of things) need to be canon or acknowledged by the actors/directors/producers to be accepted by the fandom? In specific ships?
And why when a “ship” (two characters, really) have more screentime than others/other characters aren’t in the picture anymore, people take that as a victory as see their ship as more valid and “actually canon”? And mock/harass others for it?
Also there is this thing people have been doing a lot too: Thats calling everyone that doesn’t like the ship you like names (and also calling them terms that before actually meant something awful but nowadays can be said for simply tagging the incorrect ship in a fucking post)
Canon isn’t always the norm here kid. At least when it relates to ships and scenarios. (Bc if we’re talking about characterization… yes it needs to be canon in a sense or we’re writing/making ocs out of canon characters)
Most of the more popular ships will never be canon and have never been, especially the gay ones. (See Drarry, Narusasu, Frodo/Sam, Johnlock, etc, etc)
So why suddenly we care so much about what NEEDS to be canon or not?
Why people NEED to see their ships be canon so badly?
Sure, I can be seen as a hypocrite because Ive been talking about Stucky a lot in the canon and what happened in EG, but they actually did that themselves. The directors talked about gay characters, the actors talked about Stucky. So actually it isn’t something ludicrous or anything. (I’ve never thought they would actually make the ship canon -bc that would be a big problem for them “how can you make Cap America gay!” And shit- but I thought they would at least make them still be friends or friendly or acknowledge the “bromance” and they just killed the friendship in one scene with the most ooc shit ever). In fact, I’m more annoyed by that. They assassinated Steve’s character and Bucky’s progress.
Nevermind…
Why people fight so much about ships and use terms that shouldn’t be brought into stupid shit like this?
Fandoms are supposed to be fun and to have discussions (in good faith) about the canon. What we like and what we don’t like about it.
Besides, a lot of current media are about stuff that’s been remade over and over again. So they have a lot of adaptations and you can pick and choose too, if you want.
And if you don’t like the canon? Easy! Do analysis, criticize it, write fics, do fanart, do creative shit or simply ignore it! No one is forcing you to keep on watching the show or the stuff you now hate/cant stand. That’s what Im doing at least.
Sure, I criticize some people and movies a lot and get actually annoyed by the disrespect towards/assassination of some characters, but at the end of the day I can only shrug and say “it is what it is” and leave it at that. (Meaning not giving them money for the new stuff/not watching nor caring about it and only acknowledging the old things I actually care about and like)
But I don’t insult or disrespect other people in fandom because of it. And also I don’t harass the directors or actors either, ffs.
Idk, Ive always been on the sidelines of the stuff I follow, I’ve never been on the thick of fandoms so maybe thats why I don’t understand.
And I’ve also not seen so many crazy shit (the most crazy stuff Ive seen is people calling others racists for tagging a ship incorrectly and also others inflating the tag of a ship in ao3 so their ship would be “the most popular” with most fics, in that fandom) because I actually curate what I see. I don’t like a ship? I mute, if I can’t stand a person or a ship? I block em. Simple and easy.
I’ve always drawn stuff for myself, read fics and made headcanons. Only recently I’ve been sharing stuff more openly, so maybe it’s that.
Idk.
I’m just tired of seeing discourse and people fighting over this stuff.
#kinda personal#im really tired pf people fighting over ships#also the inflating of the tag in ao3 was a big problem bc most of those supposed works were a phrase written over and over again#it was the most petty pathetic shit ive seen#you like a ship? good do a fic or write headcanons#you dont like that another ship is more popular than your otp/the ship you like? DO MORE FICS OR ARTWORK OF IT#also… like in canon MCU Nat and Bruce were together kinda#but in some comics Nat is with Bucky#and so on and so forth#So a lot of ships can be canon in different media#Steve was supposed to be with Sharon but they didn’t flesh the ship and then used Peggy to stop us from shipping Stucky#in Mcu#But that will discourage me from shipping what I like? No.#my shipping tastes don’t depend on canon#im very particular in the ships I read content sometimes…#particular in the sense that I take a character and ship it with a lot of others#lmao#you can see me liking canon ships and then the most random ship in the same series/movie#Like Blaise Zabini x Harry Potter my beloved#or sometimes crossovers bc sometimes I need to read that shit#Jasper Withlock x Harry my other beloved#but how I said I don’t understand the need to fight or shame/antagonize others#and welp sometimes the fandom makes me despise or avoid a ship too bc of how they actually write and interact with em#like I see that ship tagged? not going to interect bye#and I leave it as that#simple and easy

Me, explaining to the people working at official government-funded queer organizations why Captain America is totally bisexual:

#that's two organizations in two days#WE ONLY HAVE TWO#basically my point of argument is that the latter movies ONLY make sense#when seen in the context of a fan-favorite ship blown out of proportion#it kind of became too big and Disney had to do something#so what they did was completely axe the friendship in question#well actually they DIDN'T have to do anything#they just did it anyway#it still makes me angry#and censorship is also part of queer media history#doesn't matter that Steve Rogers in those movies was never actually supposed to be bisexual#they censored his relationship with Bucky for being read as queer by too many people#meaning that we should get to have them#personal#superheroes#Captain America#stucky

I don’t necessarily agree with the idea that in Marvel x DC crossovers the batkids would like or even get along with Tony Stark. And it has nothing to do with him being a billionaire or being iron man or anything like that. I think the moment they find out that Tony Stark tired to hunt a man for sport who was brainwashed, forced to work for hydra and riddled with ptsd who just wanted to live a normal life, they would immediately not be cool with him
#like the whole concept of Batman not killing is partly about Bruce not wanting to kill but also about believing in people being reedemable#and ESPECIALLY understanding that sometimes being brainwashed by cults make you do things you normally wouldn’t do#the parallels between Bucky and Jason goes HARD and I think the batkids (and me) would project a lil bit too much of Jason onto Bucky#dc x marvel#dc comics

Don’t even try to fuck me if you can’t get me as riled up as the score of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) gets me
#bless you Henry Jackman that score is fucking ELECTRIC#I’ve got big sad eyes that look v alluring with a mask covering the bottom half of my face just like our boy Bucky#if my mother had anything to say about it she’d say it made me look better overall#we’re shoving that nonsense aside#I want to be metaphorically electrified by someone with (mildly) the same interests as I have#even before I got banned from tinder all these local sods were all:#uhhhhh i like smoking weed and my dog. I probably like my dog more than you#stellar. go smoke weed around your dog; nothing you’re choosing to present to me on a dating profile interests me#I’m mildly* prissy and would prefer to date someone who has any interest in local arts & culture#please do not suggest Lex. Lex in my area has become a public diary#for people to complain that the non-tracking kitty litter they bought actually tracked through the house.#the app was created with the lofty idea that it could emulate those steamy personals ads from newspapers in the 90’s#personal#anyway. I’ve harped on for entirely too long#rant in tags

My hot take is that the Avengers never felt like a found family because they were never intended to. They were always meant to be a group that comes together and then separates again as needed. They're friends. Coworkers. But they were never meant to be a family.
The only exception is Natasha-- for her they were a family. And her bonds to the other Avengers in general are more significant. She's unquestionably family with Clint. She's very close with Steve. SHe's got mentor/big sister relationship with Wanda. She and Tony are close. She and Bruce had their romance. So for her specifically there is a found family aspect that's legitimate.
But for the others, I don't think you can criticize the Avengers for not feeling like a family because they're not supposed to.
#mcu#avengers#because it keeps popping up in response to how good the found family dynamic is in gotg 3#which it is!#it's great#and you can be disappointed that avengers didn't go that route but its not a flaw in the writing that that isn't what they were going for#and personally i think by its very nature it couldn't be the found family story people wanted it to be because its impermanent#I do think the cap team-- steve sam nat and sometimes bucky and wanda DO feel much closer#THEY are maybe a found family#but even then#i think they are more about friendship#a really tight bond of friendship!#and i think its important that some relationships are allowed to just stand as friendships#and i think the avengers have a good friendship dynamic too#but by its nature it is not the CLOSEST friendship set for any of them (again except natasha)

fic rec
title: And You May Find Yourself author: roguewrld pairing: steve/bucky words: 16442 summary: "There’s two possibilities here. One, I’m right and none of this is real, which makes this morning some pretty elaborate masturbation. Or two, you’re right, all of this is real and you and your Steve Rogers share a life in that apartment. In that case, I’m sure I’m generous enough to share with myself." Steve wakes up in the year 2025, with Bucky beside him in bed and a life that's just a little too good to be true. ao3
#and you may find yourself#fic rec#i would love a longer version of this tbh it's such a unique concept#like i would prefer a more explicitly happy ending but i'm taking it as such#but yeah like people do the alternate reality thing and everything but i just think it's a cool take#and even with all the cameos it actually doesn't feel overdone#maybe in part bc it uses some comics relationships so it's like oh sure this person would know this person#whereas in the mcu and in some fics i'm like oh my god you don't need to include EVERYONE ever it's too much#like it worked here and i loved bucky being friends with rocket and wade

New Avengers (2005) #55
#aw his inherited home from Steve was nice up until he let the Avengers move in#he has no authority with these people#I do really like the fact that Bucky is living in Steve’s home#I was talking yesterday about it being a compromise for Steve because he likes having neighbors but that’s too dangerous for them#so instead he lived in the city but in a building that had been made to look abandoned#so he was there but wasn’t as involved in the community#which I think is a little better suited for Bucky#who was a very personable person when he was younger#but I think less so after his Winter Soldier stuff#marvel#bucky barnes#my posts#comic panels

Hey y’all! Three questions: 1. Do you know of any fandom charity fundraisers besides Marvel Trumps Hate that allow physical things (in my case, plushies) to be auctioned? 2. If I make some non-Marvel fandom plushies to raise money for charities, would you prefer they be auctioned or raffled off? 3. Any particular non-Marvel fandoms y’all would like to see plushies of? There are a lot of options and idk where to start lol
#the person behind the yarn#I mean my current to do list is a little long but I'm making strides!#and in two months I'll be past like 4/5 kidlets-I-make-b-day-presents-for days#and I am aiming to have my auction fill plushies done by then too#then I want to make one more of each auction fill MTH item to have them ready for this year's auction if possible#at the very least a Bucky Bear#hmmm...do you think people would want an Iron Man quilt?#wait does Marvel have any dragons in it?

I'm so sorry op but i saw "trite" and blacked out

"oh i really love xyz character-" really? outside the context of shipping?
#ace attorney#phoenix wright#i do wholeheartedly agree with op btw#are there characters whose story is so intricately connected to another it might be difficult to separate? yes#but character by themself and character with others are two sides of the same coin#i was gonna apologize for going on a tangent but these are my tags so idgaf#prime example for me is Bucky Barnes: life story very much connected to Steve Rogers'#yet outside of whatever those two got going on he still is an entire being you know what i mean?#he's kind! he's jaded! he's stubborn! he's regaining control over his life! he is making CHOICES!#he tried short hair and ultimately decided long hair was better and he's correct long hair FUCKS (and I'm not biased /s)#also the gay lawyers too#sometimes people forget to like characters because of who they are and not because of who they fuck#and it drives me up the wall!!!#rant over great post op you are correct everyone else is wrong x
