i very deeply respect your mashposting and even though im not as enthusiastic about hawkahy as you are i think the content you make for them us delightful and some of the best mashposting on this godforsaken website. that being said, i wanted to know ur takes on the hawkeye & trapper dynamic, and the hawkeye & bj dynamic. Not in a shippy way, just in the World of Hawkahy what role do trapper and bj play in their relationships with hawkeye :3 this because i love that one comic u did where hawkeye is spunchbop and bj is Patrick its one of my fave pieces of mash fanart lol

second, VERY fun question!! i wish i had definitive answers for yall, but you know me... i love to go "well idk it could go either way" ^_^;; really, it depends on what kind of tone and theme i'm looking for. i don't really write heavier stuff (because i have so much fun writing funny fic) so that kind of narrows my options, but there's a lot of potential i'd love to explore— or see someone else explore, if they're so inclined!

TRAP:

generally the trapper reading i typically default to is that he and hawkeye have a pretty casual FWB thing going on. trapper considers hawkeye a very close friend and hooks up with him at an intersection of bicuriosity and deep platonic affection, but hawkeye catches baddddd feelings and ends up genuinely heartbroken to find out their thing was lopsided. in this case, hawkahy would happen only after trapper leaves— mulcahy has a tough time trying to get noticed before that point :( but at the same time, i don't think mulcahy would pounce at the first opportunity, because i don't think an immediate rebound would be good for hawkeye nor mulcahy... but it could happen for dramaaaaa...

another version of the hawkeye-trapper rapport that i love playing with in my fics is trapper being generally very supportive but nonetheless slightly grossed out. i think there's a lotttt of comedy potential with hawkeye thinking it's okay to fuck a priest but NOT a married woman, and meanwhile trapper is pro-infidelity but anti-priestfucking (for whatever reason), and they squabble and tease each other about it the whole time.

it's also funny to think about is trapper trying to figure out whether mulcahy now gets the "one of the bros" back-slapping beer-chugging dude treatment, or if instead he's now slotted into the "go easy on 'em trap" category that protects hawkeye's ladyfriends from hearing trapper's bawdiest jokes and comments when hawkeye brings them along as a plus-one to the swamp.

trapper seems like he's pretty likely to sniff out that hawkeye and mulcahy are seeing each other even if they try their damnedest to keep it secret. i like to think hawkeye trusts trapper enough that he would go ahead and divulge it it up front pretty soon after it's official. trapper could probably even pick up hawkeye's crush beforehand... maybe even before hawkeye knows about it!

i don't see trapper as being too jealous of hawkeye spending a lot of time with mulcahy, even if it means hawkeye is now exclusive and not sleeping with trapper anymore. if anything i think he'd be pretty stoked that he's got one less guy to compete with for the nurses' attention. pretty sweet deal as far as he's concerned.

i do think there'd be some tricky navigating between how hawkeye acts with trapper and the STARK difference with how he acts around mulcahy, which you can see clear as day in the s1 finale, where hawkeye gets soooo soft and careful while talking to mulcahy. i don't think either one is disingenuous; i think hawkeye contains multitudes. hawkeye's not the type to fake sincerity. and to that end, i really don't think hawkahy should hinge on hawkeye totally giving up all the cruder parts of his personality (especially since mulcahy is really no saint either), so it could be pretty interesting to see that manifest in whether/how he's still maintaining a close friendship with trapper now that he's been seeing mulcahy regularly and trying to make a good impression.

BEEJ:

the direction bj goes in depends on whether hawkahy are already an item before he gets there. he does form that almost instantaneous trauma-bond with hawkeye on his first day, but i think if hawkeye admitted "yeah by the way the chaplain is my boyfriend" as soon it seemed safe, bj would be able to take it in stride as another weird little quirk of the mash he has to get used to. he's too hung up on dealing with all the gore to worry about who's banging who.

by contrast, i think he could potentially get pretty upset/jealous if hawkeye and mulcahy paired up a little while later. i can see him feeling really betrayed, like, "what do you normally do when i'm gone?" "wait for you to get back!!"

if bj still doesn't feel like he's really enmeshed himself into the unit— which i think on some level, he never wants to, because he's banking on dropping everything like a hot potato the second he can— then i can totally picture him just feeling completely lost and isolated when hawkeye is suddenly forgoing their boys-nite boozathons in favor of getting some priest pipe. like, at least trapper could always go find his own cuddle buddy to pass the time and had nurses lining up to volunteer; bj has basically nobody and doesn't seem inclined nor equipped to fix that. hawkeye is his liason to the rest of the camp, and bj isn't so great with people without having hawkeye there to help as both teleprompter and safety net.

basically i think bj wants to keep hawkeye within a very specific arm's-length radius— not too close, but not too far either, and hawkeye having so much private time with someone else could really get under his skin.

you could also have bj think the priestfucking is gross/bad on sheer principle like trapper did, even without the jealousy angle, and it'd probably hold a little more water coming from bj than trapper. however, it'd be funny if he's insisting it's definitely not a jealousy thing and he's being fully objective about it, but you can totally tell he's just jealous. x)

i admit i kinda love seeing bj get tormented, because he's got such obvious buttons to press and yet sternly insists that they don't even exist, similar to houlihan and frank. like, you can't just set that up and not expect me to rub my hands together and SLAM those buttons as hard as i can. ergo, bj getting jealous about hawkahy is supremely funny to me. i'm not too proud to admit that!

I think I might've mentioned this exact duo before, though I may be wrong about that. Regardless, I've had Many A Thought about the potential dynamic between Lindsay "reclaiming bimbo as a term of empowerment" and Noah "could be god's biggest hater but was nerfed with an inability to GAF", to the point where I have a few drafts exploring this exact concept.

Through the lens of my eyes (blurry as it would be, my prescription fairly strong), I don't think Noah would ever consider manipulating Lindsay- at least, not in a similar manner to the likes of Heather or Alejandro. He's shown in canon to be pretty adverse to the idea. Why else would he make those comments about Alejandro in "I See London..."?

Not that he doesn't think about how easy it would be to use her. But his morality wins out over his scheming thoughts pretty quickly- no one wants to be New Heather, after all.

However, he's also shown a capacity to explore sneakier options of deception and trickery; pretending to pass out during the 20k run in The Big Sleep, trying to excuse his comment about Alejandro under the guise of it "being a compliment where he's from", tricking the Sasquatch with his fake ball throwing, getting himself eliminated on purpose in Dodgebrawl. I'm trying to think of other examples In Canon off the top of my head, but I'm coming up short since most of his actual speaking lines in the show are 'zingers' and 'witty one-liners' instead of actual character moments.

And we also know, from the way he treats Owen, that he's a lot more patient and indulgent towards the... 'slower' or 'simpler' contestants. He very rarely gets mad at Owen's mistakes- see how he gently chastises him in "Super Happy Crazy Fun Time Japan" when he's disturbing their set, he'd pretty much gentle parenting him, or how he doesn't even raise his voice against Owen after being blasted by nose-shake in "I See London...". You could argue that Owen just has best friend privileges, but given the way he also talks about his dog I think Noah just has a soft spot for happy-go-lucky, heart-of-gold, kind of stupid people (and blondes). Sound familiar?

Lindsay would fall under this umbrella of 'treat with kindness' because of this, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't try to subtly nudge her in the 'right direction'- out of Heather's and/or Alejandro's influence and into his own. For her own safety, of course.

Not that I think he'd even like Lindsay at first. The two of them are opposite ends of the social spectrum; I'd take a while for Lindsay to break through his snarky exterior, but I think eventually Noah would realise that she isn't the 'two-faced airhead popular girl' he'd assumed her to be and quickly warm up to her (she's airheaded, sure, but there's nothing two-faced or nefarious/mean-spirited about Lindsay). It's a classic case of "extrovert adopts introvert".

Meanwhile, Lindsay would be dead-set on breaking Noah out of his sour little shell. Either because she overhears Owen/Izzy/Eva explaining how Noah struggles to make friends because he's "very shy" and "mixes up his insults and his compliments", thus she assumes that, hey, Noah's made fun of her a few times, maybe that was just him trying to be friendly? So she makes it her mission to reciprocate his efforts and befriend him (much to Noah's initial suspicion, and begrudging appreciation).

Or she gets the concept of a 'gay best friend' stuck in her head (an impressive feat, getting anything stuck in such a vacant space /j) probably from watching too many high school teen dramas, and sees Noah as the ideal candidate since he pretty much embodies most of the stereotypical GBF traits; a sassy twink who's defining characteristic is making snarky comments. If Noah ever caught wind of this, he'd either be mortified by the concept and avoid Lindsay like the plague until she'd eventually hunt him down, or he'd think the whole concept is too funny to pass up and gladly play the part- if only for his own amusement. (Personally I headcanon him as bi, but he's so canonically queer coded that he fits the stereotype anyway.)

Which is all just a long-winded way of me saying I think Lindsay would kindle the friendship without giving Noah much of a choice (again, extrovert adopting introvert) and Noah would just go along with it, being the lazy guy he is, and quickly grow fond/protective over her.

If he and Owen are the golden retriever and black cat dynamic, Noah and Lindsay are an afghan hound and a black cat; Noah has a lot of black cat energy (that's just a given) and you cannot tell me that Lindsay isn't an afghan hound- they're pretty, gentle-natured and renown for their low intelligence.

Plus, Lindsay's capacity for meanness (as unintentional as it may be) would be comedy gold to Noah. He'd encourage her to keep that sharp tongue and steel spine, if not for his own entertainment, then to ensure she doesn't become someone else's doormat again. In return, Lindsay would bring out a softer side of Noah, likely a result of her reminding him of his several older sisters.

She'd absolutely abuse her 'soft Noah' privileges too by roping him in on sleepovers where the two of them gossip and paint each other's nails (Noah's against the idea at first but Lindsay hits him with the puppy eyes and he folds like a lawn chair), eventually leading to Lindsay giving Noah a much needed glow up. He finds himself enjoying the pampering- though he'd never admit it- and Lindsay's just ecstatic that she has someone to use as a dress-up doll (Tyler wouldn't let her give him another makeover after Paris).

i just woke up so if my words are all over the place that's probably why! being productive right here! waking up early! somebody shoot me! fighting the urge to go back to sleep so i can reply to your silly lil awesome questions! i need a coffee.

AND!!! I REALLY LIKE THE SHIP!!! (just saw you're on impel down so i won't spoil anything!)

i mean, it's not my favorite ship and i'm not crazy about it like, idk, my fiancé is crazy about them (but again, she's crazy about zosan and lawlu and i'm not so we have to deal with each other's bullshit all the time). but i find their relationship really, really interesting and complex and cool to explore. i was just writing a fic about them being besties and super clingy, gonna cry. baby boys.

i personally see them more as just best friends, but hey! if there are cute fanarts and content i'm not going to scroll away!! it's a good and cute ship!!! they're bffs almost instantly and usopp's intelligence really disappears when he's with luffy which is, not only hilarious but extremely refreshing to see. let the anxious boy be dumb and reckless!! they're so chaotic!!

not to mention that it's not only their dynamic that makes them good, but the whole water 7/enies lobby thing. i fear that if i talk about this much i might start sobbing. but, like,,, their fight is the first time we see luffy actively cry on screen. we see luffy losing control of his crew, something he used to have control over. we see luffy lost and act impulsively and not knowing what to do because his best friend and sniper is about to go away and his heart fucking breaks into a million little pieces. because luffy sees usopp's potential and he wants him with the crew, but he can't do anything to help if usopp doesn't believe in himself. and also, the merry, which is another thing luffy loses control over and has to act like a logical captain about it but we all know it's heartbreaking for him too. and then there's usopp, who feels inferior and not worthy of being part of this amazing crew. even though he has shown over and over again to be part of this little family. he just feels like he doesn't belong here. and, you know, he says he's angry because of the merry but we all know the fight isn't about that.

so, we all agree that water 7 is very very peak lusopp (and sanuso, but tbf it's just peak usopp in general because he has great scenes with everyone. especially the monster trio, shout out to my boy zoro), and then enies lobby is when they make up and it's beautiful and heartbreaking and the way usopp yells at luffy to stand up and fight makes me want to curl up on the floor and sob for ages and ages and ag-

and i would go into detail about luffy's character but i don't want to spoil anything, so let's just focus on usopp here:

lusopp's dynamic works well both as a friendship and as a ship, mainly because they're both on the same page when it comes to silly shenanigans. we see them actively enjoying being with each other and doing stupid things together and that's just,,, so sweet. but also, usopp is one of those people that have to ground luffy sometimes and tell him "fuck, no. haha. we're so not doing that" because despite acting silly, he's pretty much more logical and rational than luffy is. but, you know, the reason he's like that most of the time is because he's scared of fucking dying (which i understand. i'd be scared too in that crew. i'm glad nami is always agreeing with him with these things), and he has to be the one to stop luffy (try to, at least. never really works) from doing extremely dangerous things. which is both hilarious and actually pretty cute to watch because it shows us how well usopp knows luffy. it's obvious that they're best friends. dude knows what luffy is going to do minutes before luffy even thinks about doing it. and luffy really, really admires and loves usopp's abilities and strengths and brains. all the things usopp is insecure about? luffy loves them!!!

and, you know, it's a good ship because they have that sort of bff energy, but if you make it romantic and angsty and more intimate? that's just better! i feel like their ship is just- those friendships that turn into romantic relationships but their dynamic doesn't really change at the end of the day? and i find that really endearing.

luffy makes usopp see the best in himself and makes him want to improve as a pirate to follow his dream and feel like he belongs in the crew. usopp makes luffy be a bit more grounded to reality whenever he needs to, and he was the first one to make luffy realize that, well, fuck, he's the captain of a ship and he needs to be responsible and make harsh decisions.

but now that they're together again, luffy is sooo not going to let him go ever again. and usopp will never try to do so because he just wants to keep fighting for him!!!

it's such an endearing and funny and angsty ship. i think i just don't really ship them much because i'm more of a sanuso/zolu kind of person. but at this point just make it poly and everybody is happy (except nami bc she has to deal with the 4 of them being in love and that would be extremely tiring. somebody bring back vivi for her PLEASE).

but yeah, cute ship. not my favorite but awesome to explore and tbh one of my favorite friendships in this show. very underrated but that's just bc usopp is underrated af and it makes my blood boil with anger and the fury of hell itself. that's for another day, though!

This week, I finally caught up on the latest episodes of 'My Adventures with Superman'. As I stated before, I ended up skipping the episode last week since I wanted to watch the two-parter in its entirety, and boy I sure am glad I did that because the cliffhanger for episode 8 would have kept me awake all week. When I first started watching this show, I was of the opinion that it was good, but had some obvious flaws in storytelling. Regardless, I continued to have faith in the show, and still thought that it had a lot of potential. Well, with the release of the recent episodes, I'm happy to say that the show is finally starting to live up to that potential. These last two episodes are easily the best episodes the show has had so far. The writing has improved drastically, the character development has been near flawlessly executed and the action scenes have become much more suspenseful and ambitious. It's safe to say that the show has reached a new peak. 

So with the obligatory spoiler warning, let's talk about episode 8 and episode 9 of My Adventures with Superman' : 

- Episode 8 starts off with Superman unlocking his super-hearing in his sleep, and he encounters a moral dilemma that has always been present with comic book Superman - mainly that Superman can hear EVERYTHING all the time, and has to actively choose which disasters to avert because he can't be everywhere at once.

In most iterations, Clark has had an entire childhood to get used to these powers, but the MAWS version has only recently unlocked them, and naturally they drive him a little crazy with him trying to help everyone as much as possible and even neglecting his sleep to do so. Here's one example of how good the writing has gotten in this episode : Superman suffering from sensory overload is played for laughs at first, but as the episode goes on, it becomes less funny as Clark slowly starts to unravel both physically and emotionally which leads him to be slightly less effective at being a superhero when he inadvertently causes a lot of collateral damage trying to save someone. This turns some of the people of Metropolis against him which perfectly ties into Jimmy and Lois' subplot where they have to deal with Vicki Vale, a new reporter who seems to be dead set on trying to turn people against Superman. On top of that, Superman becoming more exhausted as the episode goes on actually leads to him losing the big fight at the end of the episode. There's a lot going on here, and the show balances it all out really well.

- Speaking of Jimmy and Lois' subplot, I find it interesting that when they're interviewing the people of Metropolis, the characters who spout the "Superman is too good to be true" rhetoric are all characters who have selfish and ulterior motives. Almost like their assessment of Superman has less to do with what they really think of him and more to do with their own cynical perspectives. At one point, Alex (one of the characters from the previous episodes) even notes that Superman could be 'one bad day' away from completely breaking and turning against humanity, which is something that long-time comic fans will recognize as one of Joker's philosophies. It's even the premise of the Injustice games and comics. Like I said before, I will be so happy if/when this show completely tears apart the 'Evil Superman' trope.

- The fight scene at the end of episode 8 is so well done. I love how it starts off in the sky with all the characters essentially in free-fall. It just feels so dynamic and exciting. Some people like to make think-pieces about how Superman is a difficult character to write because of how powerful he is which robs any fight scenes of tension and suspense, but this episode proves that it can be done and it can be done creatively. There's a logical reason for why Superman is on the losing side in this fight between his lack of experience, the fact that the villains are all ganging up on him and the fact that he is already exhausted when the fight begins. And this episode makes it look easy. I'm going to go ahead and make the bold statement that the people who complain about Superman being difficult to write for simply lack creativity. Watch this show and take notes, people. This is how it's done.

- These episodes basically confirm that the General from the previous episodes is indeed Lois' father. He's called Sam, which is Lois' father's name in the comics, and there's a flashback in the second part where he is seen talking to someone on the phone - perhaps it could be a younger Lois or Lois' mom ? I like that the show is being subtle about this. The audience is given enough clues to put together that the General is Lois' father, but the characters themselves don't know it yet. It's a nice bit of dramatic irony. 

- The second part of this two-parter reveals why the General and his team were after Superman - in the past, Earth was invaded by a group of aliens led by a figure that heavily resembled Superman. They were stopped before they could cause too much destruction, but ever since that day, the General and his team have been on the lookout for any potential aliens. Now both Clark and the audience are led to believe that the invaders are from the planet that Clark came from, but I noticed that the alien robots sported the three dotted lines on their chests - the symbol of the villain Brainiac from the comics. I certainly hope that the show is going for that plot twist instead of making the Kryptonians a bunch of evil alien invaders because that would miss the point of Superman's story. 

- On the other hand, Superman goes through quite a bit of angst as he begins to wonder if he was sent to Earth to conquer it. I've stated previously that I liked that Clark doesn't know much about his alien origins, and these episodes are a good example of how you can use that setup to give Superman some character development. In fact, this episode confirms one of my headcanons about the character. I've always thought that when Superman was younger and was just discovering his powers, he would probably come to the conclusion that he was sent to Earth to conquer the planet based on how destructive some of his powers are. It doesn't help that a lot of real life science fiction stories revolve around alien invasions - what if a young Clark Kent read and/or watched those types of stories ? He would probably think that he was just like the alien 'freaks' and 'monsters' in those stories and that would give him a bit of existential angst growing up. Lo and behold, this episode confirms that headcanon in the scene where Clark is telling Lois and Jimmy about what he learned while in captivity. 

- I still think that the villains aren't as well written as they could be, but they do give Superman quite a challenge when it comes to physical threats. Parasite is obviously the star here as he evolves into a monstrous mech-Kaiju at the end of episode 9. It's a fun design, and his sheer size and power makes the final fight of the episode feel appropriately massive in scale as he threatens to destroy the entire city. 

- Lois and Jimmy rallying the people of Metropolis into supporting Superman is such a cheesy moment and I love it very much. It's similar to the crane scene from the first "Amazing Spider-Man" movie and I liked that scene, so I can't complain too much about MAWS having a similar scene. Scenes like that are what superhero stories should be all about. 

- It's very appropriate that Superman's character arc in these episodes involves him refuting the idea that he is nothing more than a weapon meant to hurt people - that's basically just the story of The Iron Giant, aka the best Superman movie since the 70s.

- This is something I realized while I was thinking about how these episodes fit in with the previous episodes in this show : this show is essentially a prolonged origin story for the character. I thought that Clark becoming Superman was a bit rushed in the pilot episodes, but then I realized that I felt that way because I considered that pilot to be an origin story when it's not, at least not entirely. Throughout the previous episodes, Clark has been going through the essential elements of his origin story - he's discovering his powers and the moral dilemmas and responsibilities that he has to face as a result of having those powers, he's learning more about his alien origins, he's developing the ability to inspire people, etc. You have moments like the ending of Episode 6, where Superman makes it his goal to help the people of Metropolis accept people who are different like him. Most typical Superman origin stories would shove all that stuff in the first third of the story so that when Clark actually becomes Superman, he's essentially fully formed into the superhero icon that everyone knows and loves. But this show is making the basic journey of his origin story into an actual character arc, while still having him do Superman things (instead of something like the Smallville TV show, which is also a prolonged origin story, but tries oh so very hard to not be an actual Superman show). It's a genius way to write the character and I very much appreciate it. 

And that's episode 8 and 9 of 'My Adventures with Superman'. I think I still have so much more to say about these episodes, but I've rambled enough. I really enjoyed these episodes. I've always had faith in this show and I think it's finally starting to live up to that. These episodes do leave a few dangling plot threads, but they all sound incredibly fascinating, and I cannot wait to see what the show does next.

I really loved this post where I talked about the sibling dynamics with Malleus and Silver. Because I really do believe that Malleus was the older brother who got all the expectations on him and then as time went on, Lilia learned for the better (with the help of Malleus and the Zigvolts and some observation skills) and changed his way of teaching/parenting with Silver and Sebek. (not to say they didn't go through hell themselves because Lilia kept getting ideas from FMA)

Another reason why I have been so crazy about Diasomnia family is because I have been seeing this weird view??? Where people are stating that Malleus is not seen as Lilia's son and only Silver is????

Which I don't agree with at all. Both Silver and Malleus is precious to Lilia and vice versa so I don't see why I have been seeing they weird view of it.

I talked to a few friends about it and I think it mostly stems from people hating that Malleus OB'd and put everyone to sleep. Which is always a pattern I always see before they find out the backstory and then accept the character. (Also, there are some malleus haters out there and will say anything to make him look bad but I digress)

I really see no reason for there to be competition between Malleus and Silver in loving Lilia and he them.

As mentioned by @/curuxavermella in the same post I linked above

These are more instances that you can see Lilia care and love him.

It is also shown how Malleus also commented on them having to help Lilia parent Silver.

Hence, the whole Older sibling helping raise the younger siblings and how parents change in teaching style as they grow and learn.

I know people also like to mention how Lilia could be more of an uncle since Lilia grew up with Malenoa.

Which, while that may be the case, I dont think it describes enough the deep bond the three share. Uncles can also be seen as a father figure, you know?

Sleeping Beauty is about true love, and with the live action movie, it is about parental/platonic love too.

Then there's the fact that true love is needed to hatch the egg and Lilia might have been the one to give it the magic and love it needed to do so.

I really want to see this platonic love between all four.

We have seen it between Malleus and Silver, Silver and Sebek, Silver and Lilia, Sebek and Malleus, Malleus and Silver, and Malleus and Lilia.

I want it to be more expressed on Lilia's end. I want them to all hug.

I want lilia to acknowledge he has two sons and those sons to acknowledge their father figure openly.

I want Lilia to yell at them both about how much he loves them.

The potential for a friendship between Soren and Ranulf. Like, doesn’t it just make sense?? Soren, who has severe trauma associated with beast laguz, because they always ignored him. And now Ranulf just won’t leave him alone.

Ranulf, who is seen often making observations about Soren.

Examples:

“Nervous little staff officer. Has he snapped yet?”

And

“It looks to me like Soren’s charmed his way into the most powerful position in this army.”

And

“He still doesn’t say much, but he’s a lot more at ease these days. He used to be completely closed off, rejecting anyone who tried to get close. Like he’d lock himself away, all alone in his own little world.”

Like, Ranulf is always watching and observing Soren. And he definitely knows about Soren’s secret. So I find it really cute and sweet that not only does Ranulf offer his belly to Amy, another Branded child, but in the forging bonds, he immediately decided to designate himself as baby Soren’s fun uncle figure.

And yeah, maybe Soren would be super hesitant to accept Ranulf’s friendship, but with time, I think they would have a fun dynamic. Just bickering playfully all the time.

I’m now and forever sad that they cut out the scene of Soren riding Ranulf into battle. It would have been the most adorable end to both Soren’s “learning how to trust the laguz” arc and Ranulf’s “trying to get closer to Soren” arc.

They have this kind of dynamic where Adrien could say the most random shit like "My game avatar reminded me of a Capri Sun and I feel like Capri Sun could be a super cool hero name? Like Sailor Moon and Capri Sun against the world!" (Sorry, I feel rly drunk right now, don't take me seriously) and Ladybug would help him design an outfit?

Like one of them would cry at a movie and seeing them cry would instantly make the other one cry too? Like it's raining and they both have umbrellas but they share one anyway to be closer to each other. Except that they try to make sure the other stays dry and push the umbrella towards them and away from themselves and it turns into a subtle battle of 'how can I make sure the other stays dry?', causing them to arrive at home soaked. They're the "lovey dovey sticky notes on the mirror" type of couple. The "we are trying to have a sleepover but both of us are too flustered at the idea that the other is next to me and I can't sleep a wink" type. They are so fluffy.

But also the "I love you so much but dating you feels wrong because I am keeping secrets." The "You don't love the other me and it terrifies me." The "I have seen you die countless times and it still haunts my dreams." The "My boyfriend's father is my enemy and I can't tell him and break his heart." The "Both of us have jealous fans and dating will put us and our loved ones in danger." They are so angsty.

They have tooth-rotting fluff and heart-shattering angst and Ladrien crack one shots are the funniest thing you have ever read and I love them for it with an intensity you would not believe. They add something to the lovesquare that affects its very core and I am so incredibly fond of them.

Overview

For my final project, I am exploring research on medical marketing. Specifically, I am focusing on the commercialization and advertising of drug commercials. My Tumblr Project will include insights into the new transformation of medicine commercials and changes in drug marketing. 

I first decided to do this topic for my project because drug commercials are something I think about almost all the time. A few years ago, I remember complaining to my sister about commercials (especially drug commercials). I would always say that I would revolutionize the commercial industry (jokingly). However, I also thought about how I would change drug commercials altogether. I believe drug commercials should be shorter in time, engaging, and not anxiety-inducing. Every American knows how boring or annoying drug commercials can be. With that, I often imagine how commercials would be different for the better. 

The topic and idea of this project first came to me when I was in SOC 466 class one day. In the early part of the semester, we were introduced to what our Final Project would be like. From that point, I just started listing potential topics I could do. All my topic ideas, especially this one, just popped into my head. Just. Like. That. I was on the fence about this topic and another topic - the other one being about drugs. However, after some discussion, I was encouraged to do this project topic instead. I am very glad with my choice and where this project process has taken me. 

Another big encouragement of what prompted me to do this topic was the Ozempic commercial. This drug commercial lives in my mind daily, when I am doing chores, when I am doing homework, when I am about to go to sleep, when I am bored, when I am at work, when I am doing school work, etc… That day, I was in class thinking about talking about drug commercials for my final project, and this drug commercial popped into my head and pushed the idea out into the open. When I think about my project process, I always think about how this silly commercial was a big enforcer of thinking about my topic, researching, and the overall project process. This commercial is pretty much the reason why I am doing this project on the medical marketing of drugs. Talk about the butterfly effect…. crazy…

Throughout my project, I will be talking about different subjects. It ranges from the history, the changes in the drug commercials/advertising, power dynamics, and issues that come from medical marketing, I have even included additional sources for people to understand and engage more with. The overall main thing I have provided is how each aspect shows sociological relevance and how it relates to this topic. I hope you all enjoy it.

Baldur's Gate 3:

OTP: Wyll x Astarion. Chemistry, both have traumas, many tropes I enjoy like monster hunter x monster. They have their moments in canon too, they're clearly attracted to each other. + Astarion's line about wanting to marry a prince-like type like Wyll.

OTP: Lae'zel x Shadowheart. They are insane. Peak enemies to lovers content. They have so much tension, but they're perfect for each other. Like Shadowheart said, if they channeled all that energy into their enemies, they'd be unstoppable together. + Healer and warrior trope. Mwah.

NOTP: I don't really have one. Maybe Astarion x Shadowheart? They don't really fit together. But I don't hate it either. They're just more like gay best friends.

Genshin Impact:

OTP: Neuvillette x Furina. The angst potential of these two is crazy. Not to be obsessed but like. They spent 400 years together as the rulers of Fontaine. And now Furina thinks it's better that they don't see each other and Neuvillette is desperate to see her again. THE PINING. The misunderstandings. Furina being lonely for centuries and having only Neuvillette as her only companion but being unable to share herself completely with him because her entire nation's existence depends on it?? The grief?? And what Neuvillette must be feeling when he finds out she's sacrificed so much for her people and has had to shoulder so much by herself, an ordinary human? THE GUILT??? And after everything, she's mortal now and what if they missed their chance?? But it could also finally be their moment to be honest and real with each other and heal together. + Neuvillette giving her a vision with dragon claws.. To mark her as being beyond Celestia's clutches. Don't get me started on these two holy shit I WILL go on forever

OTP: Zhongli x Lumine. Old dragon hot. Jk I also love them for lore reasons and they'd be beautiful together.

OTP: Kaeya x Lumine. My original and first ship in Genshin. I just love them so much. I don't really have any coherent thoughts on them I just adore them together. + They're both outsiders.

OTP: Xiao x Lumine. Can you tell I play a fem traveler? Anyway. There's sooo many moments in canon where they're together and having intimate conversations. Xiao appearing only when Lumi calls for him?? "I'll do it because it's you." (paraphrasing). Xiao keeps saving her? Honestly that whole Chasm questline was so much food for us.

OTP: Raiden Shogun x Kujou Sara. Okay hear me out. The archon and her general. The deity and her worshiper. The idol and the fan. I just.... They just are so good. Sara has dedicated her whole life and herself fully to Ei. There's nothing else in her mind. She's loyal, dutiful soldier and she loves the Shogun almost to the point of obsession. That kind of love, devotion... Chef's kiss.

OTP: Cyno x Alhaitham. I like them a lot but I feel like @elbatmun would be better to explain their dynamic. I'm not super invested but going from enemies to friends to lovers is always so good.

OTP: Beidou x Ningguang. The original lesbians of this game. I mean come on. That lantern rite moment where she compliments Ningguang's looks? That moment was loaded. And even in the event going on right now, Beidou keeps her in her mind and wants to get her a potion because she has trouble sleeping.. They're so cute. + The time they traveled to Mondstadt together and went on a date to the tavern.

OTP: Clorinde x Navia. The Fontaine version of Beigguang.. Nah I mean they've got their own stories and chemistry. This is another tragic ship that has angst potential. HOWEVER, they already moved past it in canon and are now friends. So it's a friends to lovers story arc and I love it. + Protector and princess vibes.

NOTP: Wriothesley x Neuvillette. They have nothing in canon, it's just an empty ship born from people's wish to have two men together.

NOTP: Kaveh x Alhaitham. I saw the potential and I get why people ship them but it just.. something about them rubs me the wrong way. Plus the way people act like they're canon is really annoying. Honestly it sounds like they hate each other from their interactions.

Cloudgeal is criminally underrated and I’m constantly in flux between being sad and grumpy about it.

I have a LOT of thoughts on this, and so I’ve decided to dump some of them here.

AGSZC is so so lovely and great, but a whole lot of fics with the pairing entirely neglect/avoid the dynamic between Angeal and Cloud.

On one hand I kind of understand it. Cloud/Sephiroth, Cloud/Genesis, and Cloud/Zack are all really fun and unique dynamics that already have a large following. Cloud and Sephiroth can have that sort of quiet companionship or the lingering tension that comes from their shared past (depends on when in the timeline things are set, obviously). Cloud and Genesis can have this fiery back and forth relationship, where Genesis is wholly obsessed and Cloud puts up with and at times shuts down Genesis’ antics and they’re both in love with the other for it. Cloud and Zack are the epitome of friends to lovers and the tenderness that comes along with that.

I GET why these dynamics are popular and why they’re given so much attention within ASGZC. But it really… makes Angeal feel unimportant or lesser, to me at least. He doesn’t have a Big personality the way SGZ do, but he’s still a really wonderful character.

Angeal can offer Cloud tenderness and care that he’s never really been given. In turn, Cloud can offer him someone to take care of, who well and truly needs that care and (mostly) won’t protest it. A lot of people tend to portray Angeal as a bit of a mama bear—which I adore and agree with! But this also means that, whether he does so purposefully or not, Angeal tends to put the others’ needs above his own. Cloud is there to make sure that Angeal gets some of that care too, because for as strong and capable as he is, even he needs it. So Cloud will make sure Angeal gets the care he deserves, even if he says he doesn’t need it, even if Cloud has to trick him into it by setting things up in a way that taking care of Cloud indulges and satisfies Angeal’s needs.

Cloudgeal, to me, is very warm. It’s mutual protectiveness in a way that isn’t always physical. And while it’s not as loud and crazy as some of these other dynamics, that doesn’t make it less interesting or valuable.

I try so hard, when writing ASGZC, to give Cloud and Angeal proper time together. It is very important to me, just as these two and their relationship is very special to me. There is so much potential to portray warmth and intimacy and care so beautifully through them, and I think that both Cloudgeal as a whole and within ASGZC are criminally underrated and underappreciated. I really hope to see people give more love to these two.

(Also everyone is sleeping on the size difference. This ALONE is a crime and more reason to give attention to their dynamic but don’t even get me started on that.)

My top 5 favorite Haikyuu!! pairings

SAKUATSU MY NUMER ONE, WHO WOULD EXPECT THIS, PROBABLY EVERYONE. I came across them in some Haikyuu!! fanfic and I immediately fell in love with them? They both have difficult characters and they are not people who look for friends. And that's what I love most about them, no one would be able to stand them except each other. They are both assholes, soo they are perfect for each other. Constantly teasing each other, their dynamic has such potential 🥹 And they look soo good together?? The fanarts are absolutely wonderful, the fanfics are the same. Sakuatsu, my greatest love ♡♡♡♡

Kuroken has to be here!!! But you could have guessed that too, after all you love them too hahah. Childhood friends, together all the time, I absolutely love their bond and friendship 😭😭 I have the impression that everyone would like to have what they have. This is a lifelong relationship and nothing will change my mind. Kuroo and Kenma have a special place in my heart that I cherish 🥹

Daisuga is actually my first haikyuu!! ship! When I saw Sugawara and Daichi's relationship I thought "I ship it" hahah. They are practically Karasuno's parents, nothing will change that. It's such a solid old marriage, in which there is full of understanding and a true partnership.

Oisuga (both platonic and romantic)! Suga and Oikawa have almost no canonical interaction, BUT LISTEN!! The way Oikawa called Sugawara "Mr. Refreshing" changed EVERYTHING. Imagine the chaos they could cause together. They're both gremlins! And on top of that Sugawara gave Kageyama the support that the jealous Oikawa couldn't give him. Similar experiences but different way of reacting, that has so much potential!! They're two sides of the same coin! And they're both pretty :3

Oh no, the last one... what should i pick?? Maybe something purely platonic, a real bromance! Tanaka and Noya are so chaotic together 😭😭😭 When you see them together, you already know what's going to happen hahah (a pure chaos ofc). Kyoko's true simps... i mean protectors. Ofc Sugawara is my number one hahah. I love his personality <3 He's funny, trustworthy and expresses love through violence xD

I really respect him for being able to back down when needed and showing full support to Kageyama.

Hmm who else do I like the most? Asahi is adorable :3 Poor guy, he's always scared, I wanna hug him

Nekoma

Kenma is in my top Haikyuu!! characters, so of course he's my first choice from Nekoma. I love intelligent characters and he is the brains of this team, and he is so relatable :')

And where is Kenma, Kuroo must be there too! Just…look at him… I love how supportive Kenma is, he's a great friend and his hyena laugh kills me hahah. Funny (and clever!!) guy!

Aoba Johsai High

Oikawa is my favorite villain hahah! (seriously, I love these memes when Oikawa is next to Sukuna in the top villains 😭😭) He has his flaws, he may not be the most pleasant character, but he is brilliantly created and his frustrations are completely understandable! He is extremely human (and childish)

And... Oikawa in glasses...

For balance, I also choose Iwazumi, because someone has to control Oikawa and no one is suited for that like him xD Another character who expresses his concern through violence :')

Fukurōdani Academy

AKAASHI!!! I spent over a year writing a fanfic about him and Sakusa (as roomates and besties) and it made him one of the characters closest to my heart. His fears and worries are no stranger to me.

And of course HEY HEY HEY BOKUTO!!! He's so funny and his emo mood improves my mood xD

Semi! It's emo Sugawara, of course I love him hahah. And in time skip he's a musician, so I'm totally crazy about him

Oh my Omi Omi, my beloved Sakusa Kiyoomi!I love this grumpy guy, he says what's on his mind. And his germaphobic side somehow wins me over. He's another character I've focused on a lot while writing fanfics, so he's very close to my heart and I feel like I understand him on a completely different, closer level

His cousin, Komori, also has to be here! He's his closest (only??) friend and I appreciate him being with him (their dynamic is gold!)! And he's just a really cool guy

I will exceptionally choose a manager from this team! Hana is great, she's really screwed with these guys, but she manages somehow :')
