• Head turning, he watches you, glossa sliding over his denta. They’d forced him to mass displace to make him manageable and bound him, giving him you thinking he can’t manipulate you. Fools. • “Not happening,” you say as you toe off your boots and strip off your lower coverings, leaving the rest on. Hips lifting again when you lay a soft hand on his chassis and shift over him. That little touch sparking through him, letting him in. Clever fingers finding the panel and releasing his erect spike. Optics shuttering and lips parting as you grip him and guide him to you. Letting you believe you’re in control as you take his spike deep into your wet heat. Taking your pleasure as he uses the contact to delve into you, feeding off of your memories. Living through them as you brace your palms on him and undulate against him.

• Servos tightening on your hips as he kneels behind you, you whimper as he buries his spike inside you. “Weak,” he snarls, hips moving urgently against you to stroke deep. “Blasphemous.” Cheek resting on your outstretched arm, hips up as he ruts against you with deep, hard strokes, his optics glint at you from behind his mask. Because no matter how much he insists this is wrong, he doesn’t stop. Sneering at humanity and weakness in front of the rest of the DJD, but when it’s just the two of you, he can’t seem to stop reaching for you.

• Running a palm up your spine as he thrusts against you, lost in the feel of you gripping his spike, he hates it even as he needs it. Needs you. “Tarn,” you moan and his optics shutter, hips pumping frantically as you tremble under him. Every single time he claims you, he swears it’s the last time. That he won’t succumb to this weakness. This shame. And then he finds himself bearing you down, mounting you again. Wishing he was stronger. That he could just break you and be free of this addiction, but never able to. How many times has he wrapped his servos around that delicate throat while you rest against him, thinking how easily he can end this? But never following through. Unable to lose you.

Vortex

• “Do it,” he groans, mask retracted and denta bared as you press that little blade, the one he’d given you, to the mesh of his neck under his chin. Hands on your hips, he rocks himself against you. Feeling the way you tighten on his spike. “Is that what you want? Me to beg? Please.” Laughing, he lifts his hips and throws you off balance. Feels the little bite of pain of the blade cutting him, before you yank it away from his throat, eyes wide. “Frag, a bit harder. Deeper.” Not sure if he means the blade or his spike stroking inside you. Servos tightening on your hips as he rolls. Hears you swear as the little blade goes clattering and that lovely coppery scent fills his senses.

• Back hitting the floor as his hips surge against yours, you hook your legs around his waist. Feel the wetness running down your wrist where you cut yourself. Spike pounding deep, he catches your arm and drags your hand to his mouth. Latching onto you, the side of your hand gripped in his denta as his glossa slides over the shallow cut to make you squirm. Pain and pleasure spangling together as you dig your thumb into his neck, finding that little nick and pressing against it until he shudders against you, biting hard enough to make you cry out as he releases. Hips surging against you, as he runs his glossa against the inside of your wrist and stares down at you, venting raggedly. — (he would later learn that you had been blackmailed by his brother into joining the crew—the warlord promised no harm would come to your family if you joined him)

— initially, he was both enamored and suspicious, seeing as only those with cruel intentions joined his brother's crew

— but as time went by, he was quick to learn that it was quite the opposite, and quick to grow a certain fondness for you

— i imagine cora as a slow burner, so of course all of this happens over a decent amount of time

— but within that time you manage to weasel your way into his heart

— being the ship's nurse, you are always tasked with patching him up after his mishaps

— so it was only natural that his heart fell to his ass when you declined, but your reasoning was that doflamingo still had your family hostage

— though, on one particular night, when you had happened to walk past the door to his study, you overheard him talking to the other executives about how gullible you were, as he had killed your family years ago

— distraught, you ran away with cora and law that night

— and it was bbq chicken from there...

In the "everyone ships shadamy" headcanon, which character do you think ships them the most and which ships them the less?

((In reference to my Everyone Ships Shadamy tag))

Regarding who ships them the most, one might assume I’d say Sonic, Rouge, or Cream, as they’re the ones who appear most often; Sonic loves it when his friends are happy, Rouge is thrilled Shadow is interested in dating for once, and Cream’s an idealistic yet grounded little sister who cares about Amy and wants to see her with someone who’s capable of the same level of devotion and commitment as Amy is. I love writing them this way.

However, I wouldn’t actually put any of them at the top of the heap because I can think of reasons why each one could object to it.

Some speculate that Sonic would get jealous. I don’t, but I do see him as someone who knows how dangerous and rash Shadow is. This goes for a lot of characters. We know Shadow’s gentle around Amy, but we’ve seen their hug and the ARK connection in SA2, the possibility of her turning him around in ShTH, the TMOSTH scene where Shadow gave Amy a sweet gift and agreed to go to a silly concert with her, etc. Sonic hasn’t seen that soft spot. Amy was helpless when Sonic met her and for a long time afterward, so he might hang onto that concern on some level and feel cautious about her spending time with Shadow, especially because of how naïve Amy is. Sonic knows Shadow’s ultimately a good guy, but Amy’s seen a side of him that no one else has. I wouldn’t anticipate open hostility from Sonic, but he might worry on some level.

Rouge didn’t always get along with Amy. She understandably saw Amy as an immature child for a long time, and she looked down on Amy and messed with her. They get along now, but they still have their differences, and Rouge cares a ton about Shadow. I could see her getting protective if she has reason to believe Amy could be frivolous and break his heart.

I think Cream mostly doesn’t like s0namy because of how lopsided Amy and Sonic’s feelings are and because Amy loses her head when it comes to romance. If she doesn’t think Shadow reciprocates and doesn’t register how different the shadamy dynamic is, she might dislike it for the same reason. Cream’s wise for her age, but Shadow’s hard to read.

(For the record, I think all three of them would come around pretty quickly once they actually saw how Shadow and Amy acted as a couple. That’s usually how it goes for Sonic fans in general, after all.)

This is why I actually think Vanilla would ship them the most. I don’t write headcanons about her too often because she’s a minor character, but I honestly can’t see any reason she’d object to shadamy. Vanilla’s probably the closest thing to a mom Amy has, so she has a vested interest in seeing her happy. She has Cream’s gentle supportiveness, but with the wisdom and experience of adulthood, I imagine she could understand the big picture and realize how good the two of them are for each other. The best headcanon I have explaining this is here.

As for who ships them the least, a lot of people put Knuckles in that role as a big brother figure for Amy. I think that’s tenuous, though. He just doesn’t stand up for her in that regard. I don’t know about anyone else, but I can’t think of a single time he’s seriously chewed Sonic out for treating Amy poorly. The closest you’ll get is him sarcastically saying things like, “Are you playing with that girl’s heart again, Sonic?” in Heroes and poking fun at him later. But he’s clearly joking when he says that, and he ran away from her along with Sonic constantly back in the day just like Tails did.

(Side note: this is something that really, really bothers me about his character. You’re the oldest, Knuckles. Do better!)

It is possible he leaves Sonic alone about it because s0namy is a “safe” avenue for Amy’s affections; Sonic is one of his closest friends and Knuckles knows he’s ultimately a solid guy, and given that Sonic hasn’t shown interest in an actual relationship, things wouldn’t go very far between the two. Shadow, on the other hand, has been at odds with Knuckles and the others before, and like Sonic, Knuckles has never seen the soft spot Shadow has for Amy.

I still think it’s more likely that Knuckles would trust Amy’s judgment and stay hands-off, but he could potentially show some hostility. This headcanon is how I explain it.

If you ask me, the biggest opponent to the pairing...would be Doctor Eggman. If Shadow and Amy had kids, Eggman’s chances for world domination would be kaput in ten to fifteen years. Even if they never did or the child didn’t have any of their abilities, the possibility would ruin Eggman’s blood pressure, which is even funnier.

Hello, I’m a bit late to aaa and I liked your blog because it usually show the better part of the fandom. I’m a believer if you’re having fun and not being a dick you’re doing fandom right and I can’t understand why instead of being happy that your wlw ship is so popular and so many are writing it maybe for the first time, we’re scolding fic authors for their ~troubling trends of fanfic writing and that just means authors aren’t writing their favorite character well enough for them.

Instead of just not reading free stories and moving on if they are not for you, there is a need to bitch about their lack of ~media literacy and ~comprehension skills because they’re writing free stories and making it ‘out of character’ for you. Such a condescending attitude makes this quite the obnoxious and unwelcoming fandom and I’m still not sure why do it beyond making you all feel superior, you know authors you will still write what makes them happy and good for them it’s fanfic except maybe a few more insecure ones might stop, I guess score!?

I honestly don’t remember this attitude for any other ship and please, most fanfic are not that great, the same as most of everything and yes, plenty of fic are origin fic with characters who look like the actors, is everyone here new to fandom?

Okay so it's 545am here and I haven't slept at all (happy 2025 woo) so it may be a bad idea to respond to this but I'll bite.

You are reading too much into my post and treating it like a personal attack when all I did was highlight a few core traits for the character(s) as presented on the show.

Nowhere in that post am I "scolding" fic authors. I specifically said my points applied to people who want to write canon-compliant characters. If you want to write original fic disguised as fanfic, go ahead, I'm not going to call the fanfic police to arrest them.

Think of it this way: Say the grass is green in the canon text and a writer does a story where the grass is yellow. Sure, lots of readers may actually love the yellow grass. I don't care, write stories with grass any colour you want. I actually enjoy some of those myself personally.

BUT if that writer or anyone actually believes that the grass is not-green in the canon text though, then I would have to disagree and I'll damn well do a post talking about it. Does that mean I have an attitude? I guess? But the grass is fucking green in canon.

Also, from what I've observed from the post's tags and comments, so far responses haven't been hateful or mean. There have actually been a few appreciative comments.

So maybe take a moment to consider why you're actually so angry about this, Anon. Are you even in this slice of the fandom because it uh, sounds like you don't even ship the two characters I talk about?

Something I find hilarious about this is that you were SO CLOSE to getting it.

First of all:

The post was about Zuko and Katara’s emotional maturity maybe being a reason behind why people hate the Momtara/Dadko thing. Not about them romantically as a couple, but why fans of the other ships might feel icky.

My post was also a character analysis, because those traits of theirs are independent of them as a couple. It’s because of their circumstances and shared trauma (loss of a parent and the way they were both directly affected by the war compared to other characters). There are a lot of Zutara fans who see their newfound friendship and respect for each other at the END of the show as a good foundation for a relationship after the events of the show.

But since you want to talk about the romance surrounding them, I’ll happily do it.

The majority of the show focuses on Aang’s one sided crush on Katara that she is shown reciprocating about three times maximum. Even if that changed, her last moments with Aang before the finale kiss was fighting (Sozin’s Comet) and him pressuring her for an answer regarding his feelings for her and ignoring her when she asks for more time (Ember Island Players). If the show had given as much time to showing it less as a one sided crush and a more balanced relationship with someone who respected her, people would probably feel different. It’s also not healthy that Aang doesn’t support Katara as she does for him. He is also the only love interest of her’s that doesn’t empathize with her about her mother’s death. And they give him the perfect moment in The Southern Raiders to do so, but he just judges her. Is it any surprise that a lot of women don’t support a ship where the woman is always emotionally supporting the guy and gets none of that in return???

And I absolutely agree that Avatar is not a show with a focus on romance.

So why is the last shot of a show about found family a couple kissing? Remember, they went from yelling at each other to that kiss.

Mai and Zuko are not in love for most of the show, by the way. We know Mai’s had a crush on him since they were kids but they only get together when he goes back to the Fire Nation in Book 3 (The Awakening). During this time, we explicitly see that he can’t be honest and open with her about his conflicted feelings because she brushes him off (The Awakening) or makes insensitive comments due to a lack of tact (Nightmares and Daydreams). Zuko is dealing with a lot of emotional turmoil at the time and it eventually boils over (The Beach) and shows that Mai cannot be emotionally vulnerable in the way he needs. I absolutely believe she cared about him, but she loves the version of him from before his banishment because she doesn’t understand how to deal with the current Zuko. Which continues into the comics, by the way.

And regarding the stuff about June’s teasing?

Uh…

Of the three times June makes the same joke about them together, they only react the last time.

And Katara’s had that reaction before.

When Toph teased her about Jet being her boyfriend, because Katara DID have romantic feelings for him, she got flustered (Lake Laogai and The Ember Island Players). Now, when Toph accuses her of having a secret thing with Haru, she doesn’t get flustered and just responds calmly “Uh… no.” Zuko and Katara’s reactions weren’t them despising or rejecting it, but rather being flustered.

Regarding the “Life Changing Field Trips With Zuko,” Katara’s WAS an exception because it had no narrative purpose.

Aang and Zuko needed their trip to learn firebending for Aang’s battle against the Fire Lord.

Zuko needed to go with Sokka to the Boiling Rock to make sure Sokka didn’t get captured, to rescue Hakoda, and to free Suki. This was for plot reasons because it was the start of Azula’s mental decline and Suki saves both Sokka and Toph in the finale.

Zuko and Katara’s field trip was the exception because it would have made no difference if you cut it out. It wasn’t like Zuko wouldn’t have been able to teach Aang firebending because of Katara’s grudge against Zuko. We saw in The Western Air Temple that she was willing to put her own feelings of hatred for him aside for Aang. Zuko took her to get closure because he had changed and felt genuinely bad about hurting her and betraying her trust. And she forgave him because she decided he deserved it and they became friends after that. Because you don’t jump in front of lightning for just anyone.

Also, you forget one really important thing.

My Momtara/Dadko theory is based on character traits that we see in the show.

Zutara is a ship that we see happening at any time during or after the show as an Alternate Universe ship.

Which is how most ships in the Avatar universe are.

You may disagree with me, but I have watched this show many times and actually over analyze the characters.

Why People Hate Momtara/Dadko

I was in the Momtara/Dadko tag and I was surprised how many people are disgusted by it. But I have a theory on why it bothers some people.

It’s a tag that references the fact that both Katara and Zuko act as the Gaang’s kind-of-parents in the show. But it also points out the glaringly obvious difference in emotional maturity in the group. I think that when people start to acknowledge this difference, it might make shipping either Katara or Zuko with the other members of the Gaang feel kind of gross.

Because Aang and Toph both act very much like children (they’re like 11, so I get it) but, despite the fact that Katara is only 3 years older than Aang, she is MILES ahead of him in terms of emotional maturity. Aang deals with his emotions similarly to someone of his own age, like when Katara yells at him in the Waterbending Scroll and he immediately starts getting teary. That’s a normal reaction for a child, but Katara never yells at him again and shoves her own feelings aside for the better of the group (The Western Air Temple). She is constantly having to calm him down when he gets angry or goes into the Avatar State and always supports him emotionally (despite getting none of that back from Aang). On top of that, Aang doesn’t take responsibilities regarding the domestic chores, so it really makes Katara seem like more of a mother or older sister. 

I also know that people ship Zukka (I don’t, but I know it’s popular) and, while Sokka acts close to his actual age, Zuko has a bitterness to him that came because of his banishment. Zuko even said in The Beach (S3 E5) that he doesn’t deal with the same problems that normal teenagers have. His trauma made him into someone who doesn’t see himself as a normal teen and we see how Iroh’s influence shaped Zuko whenever he is doing something good. Think about how he interacted with Lee (Zuko Alone) or the emotional maturity he shows when he apologizes to the Gaang (Western Air Temple) or when Katara blames him for her mother’s death (The Southern Raiders).

I just thought about that because it would make sense why it seems to disgust people. Because it’s seen as cute or a way for Katara and Zuko to support each other for a lot of Zutara fans (I’m not making a blanket statement, but there is a reason why it’s popular with a lot of us).

Curly had two days to act and Swansea had two months.

I think it’s just interesting that every defense of Swansea not immediately acting are the same ones that are argued against for Curly. “He didn’t want to alert Daisuke or makes things worse for Anya either Jimmy!” I mean people also assume that about Curly and the crew. “He has to think about his plan of action and a right moment!” Again so did Curly, power and authority aside, he still would have to think of what he had to do. “He makes sure he doesn’t have to be around Jimmy!” So did Curly and they only do this to an extent, both give Jimmy more than a few opening to keep harassing Anya.

This isn’t defense of Curly nor a damnation of Swansea. Their actions are very parallel to each others in tragic and sour ways when it comes to how they approached helping Anya. In the grand scheme of it all they both did the same thing: Nothing. No action either took stopped the inevitable outcome of her death nor Jimmy’s continued damage to themself.

The only real difference is Swansea didn’t like Jimmy which is pretty substantial, but also just as damning as Curly knowing how bad Jimmy could get to an extent. He had even less of a reason to wait, even more of a reason to act seeing as he was now worried for Anya AND Daisuke. He is not bound by the possible procedure as Captain and actively does not care about what happens next. So what does it matter if he acted in the moment? Why did he wait? I think he’s just as morally complex and grey as Curly and we hold him on a pedestal that still perpetuates things in rape culture the game critiques.

It’s not just enough to dislike and be abrasive to predators/abusers like Jimmy. It’s not enough to just put yourself between them and the other person. It’s not enough to hold tensions when you know someone is vulnerable. He and Curly do the exact same things but on different sides of the coin. I ask how is it better to not turn a blind eye but still not really do anything about what you are seeing? Not until it affects you atleast…

The game makes a big point to not put men doing the bare minimum or who wait to do more on pedestals and I’m actually surprised so many are missing that point.

Like ignore the togachako gay ass part of this… it’s the fact that Izuku is the one looking at her now and she isn’t looking back. Their friendship is so interesting y’all omg (not in a shipping way. Like in an unrequited love/unrequited friendship way. Like they do make me a little ill to think about bc wym by that this gayass can’t get it through his thick skull that this girl liked him for the longest time and doesn’t understand why she isn’t treating him in the not-platonic care way anymore. i just realized something and you're the only dog man person I have any way of interacting with but...like... Why do we ship dogman with people? Sure he has a man's body but his brain is a dog. He's not a full anthro animal like Petey is, who functions and acts human. Dogman thinks and acts like a straight up dog.

Dogman, as a character, is a very interesting dilemma for shipping in general due to the fact he has the brain of… Well, a dog.

Dogman in the comics is only shown to be romantically attracted to dogs, this isn’t seen as a bad thing this is seen as ‘lol, Dogman likes dogs because he’s half dog’ I don’t think Dogman is ever attracted to more sentient beings like humans - or cats - besides that.

But when ignoring those canon details, I think what this all comes down to is that, the Dogman comics are VERY silly, anything could happen, and people who read these comics have their imaginations and if they want to ship Dogman with other characters they can do that.

This story allows shipping to be made without it being weird as fuck because literally anything could happen so it doesn’t seem out of place (I mean, the cats are fully sentient but the dogs aren’t, it doesn’t make sense, but it doesn’t matter and you don’t question it lol), I think most people when shipping Dogman with other characters headcanon Dogman as sentient as a human and understands the idea of relationships.

Petey x Dogman is also just an interesting character dynamic situation that can be shifted into romance for some people. Like bad guy x good guy is pretty popular for a reason! I myself can’t really get myself to ship it due to the context of canon, but I’ve always been one to not headcanon stuff and or to just not sway away canon elements in general I feel. Which is also very funny because enemies to lovers is literally my go to lol-

Although, Detey kind of turns into a problem when people start insisting they love each other in the canon story and that you’re wrong if you don’t think so…. when that will literally never happen. Dogman is sentient as a dog, and Petey is uh, probably not attracted to the man he hates that is also a dog lol (and his many issues would also probably get in the way of that, speaking of which has Petey ever been romantically interested in anyone in canon?)

(But also it’s kind of interesting, don’t really know where to put this, that Dogman and Petey have an agreement to take Lil Petey on separate days, they practically have a divorce situation going on, which is funny af 😭😭)

TLDR people can do what they want, the Dogman books practically allow this with the context of the silly story, so they ship Dogman with characters (with usually headcanoning Dogman with some semblance of sentience) - which is usually Petey - because it’s fun and interesting and people like shipping.

I want to preface this post by saying that I love the cat king as a character, especially one that has such a major impact on Edwin and his relationship with his queerness and learning to be okay with it; HOWEVER, I also believe that everyone that genuinely believes he should be a love interest for Edwin should read this.
