Violeon and Foulette

I know it’s not an update for the Minnie miraculous series, but I’ve been having some difficulty with the twins designs, so they’re taking a bit longer than Cat Man and Princess Ladybug did. For now, though, here’s some concept art for Villain Marinette and Adrien as the Peacock and Butterfly. This is concept art for a sort of reverse AU to Minnie Miraculous, where all the Adults are heroes, and these two get to be the antagonists of the series.

The general idea is that Gabriel doesn’t know Adrien is a Sentimonster in this AU, and Emilie created Adrien on her own. Grieving the loss of his wife, Gabriel begins carrying around the ring he gave her when the two of them were engaged, (the singular ring that Emilie used in this AU to house Adrien’s Amok,) and starts unknowingly feeding Adrien his sadness and desires to have his wife return. These desires corrupt Adrien, and he ends up finding and using the Butterfly miraculous in order to try and retrieve the Ladybug and Cat miraculous for the purpose of bringing Emilie back to life.

As for Marinette, without the Ladybug miraculous and Tikki to encourage her, she ends up feeling isolated and lacking in confidence at school, too scared to make friends or stand up to Chloe. (She has Alya, but is sure that Alya is afraid to open up to her because she doesn’t want to ruin what the two of them have.) She has a crush on Adrien though, and senses some of the same loneliness in him that she feels. Eventually, after spending a whole lot of time obsessively following him around, she finds out about his secret identity as Violeon, and, empathizing with his drive to bring his mother back, dons the Peacock miraculous and becomes Foulette in an attempt to be a part of his life.

So yeah, those are my villains. Both put their own desires second in order to please someone else, becoming corrupted by the need to be needed. Of course for Adrien he doesn’t realize it.

Oh, and yes, Marinette realizes pretty quickly that Adrien is a Sentimonster, and manages to track down his Amok. It takes her a while to figure out what it all means though, as she’s new to the Peacock miraculous and its powers. She’s in pretty deep before she pieces together what’s going on, and even longer before she’s brave enough to try and fix things.

But anyway, yeah. That’s them. :) I like them—they were both pretty fun to design, and I’m relatively happy with the results.

These kwami swaps are definitely going to appear in Timey Wimey soon, we’re getting really close to Marinette’s reveal. I’ll also be posting the other half of this which the Chinese zodiac part of the Miracle Box, yep that’s right my girl is pulling a Kwamibuster on the corrupted hero’s but with a twist. Anywho, updated their designs and was just trying to edit the post but accidentally deleted it so whoops.

So cleaned up their designs and thought might as well post more.

So remembered an animatic that said every Ladybug holder was destined to abandon their Black Cat and they'd never see each other again. So I quickly threw together a set of curses for all the Chinese Box.

Ladybug - They are destined to always die alone with their goals unaccomplished

Black Cat - They are fated to always be abandoned by the person they hold closest

Fox - They are fated to always destroy the person they love most

Turtle - When it counts most they won’t be able to protect those they hold most dear

Bee - They are fated to drive others away at their most vulnerable

Butterfly - They are fated to have their good intentions twisted sour

Peacock - They are fated to put their faith and love into the wrong person and destroy themselves

Snake - At the end of things, they will always end up alone

Dragon - They are fated to never have the strength they most need

Bunny - They are destined to see the worst fates of their friends repeat over and over again with no chance to save them

Tiger - They are destined to always squeeze too tight and break those they love

Pig - Their kindness and desire to help will be their downfall

Mouse - They are fated to feel the weight of every task and eventually be crushed by it

Ox - They are cursed to be destroyed by their own growing doubt

Horse - They are fated to always be a moment too slow and be ruined by it

Monkey - Their happiness will come at the cost of the misery of others

Goat - They will be consumed by their passion and desires

Dog - They will devote their lives to a goal and only in their last moments realize they were wrong

Rooster - The people they hold closest will be unreachable

My rough idea is that the Miraculous of the Chinese Miracle Box are so powerful that their magic naturally backlashes onto the user in the form of a curse. So if someone wears a Miraculous for too long, they will be doomed to the curse even if they take it off.

Continuing this nonsense au

(I can't draw right now, and I need to get it out of my system)

Marinette is best friends with Chloé (they're the mean girls)

She's the daughter of the most famous/expensive confectioners in all of Paris

She's a klepto and pick pockets the ladybug miraculous from Fu before he could give it to an appropriate holder

Her hero name is Lady Vermilion

She is the sole defence against Hawkmoth for a while and is perceived very positively by the public

Sabrina takes on Marinette's canon role and is constantly victimised by Chloé and Marinette

Que Alya's transfer to the class, her and Sabrina become fast friends and they bond over their mutual love for Lady Vermilion

Sabrina passes one of Fu's dumb tests and gets the black cat miraculous - becomes Calico

After Fu sees Alya help Calico while Lady Ver is down from an akuma attack, he gives her the dog miraculous

Alya becomes Huntara and Calico and her partner up!

(Fetch has a different ability, I don't know what yet, but it's something stronger. Maybe it's something like stealing distance between the user and targets the ball hit? Dunno lol)

After the akuma gets defeated, Lady Ver welcomes them to the hero business and tells them that one day, they might be as great as her if they try hard enough, because this time they definitely just got lucky

Lady Ver is fake nice to them in a condescending and belittling way, she's very angry and concerned that they might steal her spotlight

Alya and Sabrina are unaware of each others' secret identities because they don't know each other well enough to know if they're acting out of character or trying to cover for something but they will figure it out eventually

They do hero stuff, and Lady Ver usually steals the spotlight

She usually only appears for very dangerous akumas and lets Calico and Huntara deal with the small fries

Enter Adrien- dun dun dun!

He's also a mean girl™

Marinette still has a thing for him, but Adrien and Chloé are too oblivious to notice her advances and

Something something happens, Marinette gets the opportunity to snatch the bee miraculous from Fu

She gives it to Chloé and reveals her secret identity to her, believing that as a duo, they have better chances to rival the rising in popularity cat and dog duo

Chloé becomes Queen Frelon

Seeing the increasing amount of miraculous in play, Hawkmoth recruits his disgruntled estranged son and gives him the broken peacock miraculous (father of the year, ladies and gentlemen)

Adrien becomes Fanfare and almost immediately gets sick after detransforming

(He's probably not a senti-baby here...? Idk)

Fanfare eventually recruits Lady Vermillion and Queen Frelon from the shadows to start his own cause because there is no way that he's going to give the ladybug and black cat miraculous to his incompetent father

Queen Frelon and Lady Ver start openly sabotaging Calico and Huntara and try to set them up as fall guys for Fanfare's plan

Love square is Huntara/Alya->Calico->Alya<-Sabrina

Felix arrives and eliminates Hawkmoth/Gabriel with Adrien/Fanfare's help after figuring out their identities

Felix gets the butterfly and becomes Jaded Majesty

Lady Ver and Queen Frelon fully switch sides, and Lady Ver uses her influence to start portraying Huntara and Calico as villains, and the heroes become wanted criminals

The new actual villain team carefully craft a plan through which they will practically have full control over Paris

The goal is still to get the black cat from Calico, but their wish is now to heal Adrien

And yeah, that's as far as I have this au roughly outlined XD
