Here's how I imagine Lady Elizabeth Godwin when she was alive compared to her reanimated self. I was inspired by MANY different visual ideas and concepts like the original Frankenstein book, late 1880s strongwomen, and 1890s fashion.

Here was my aesthetic mood board!

Since the og Frankenstein book describes the flesh of the creature to be yellow and translucent, rather than the popular green flesh seen in most film adaptations, I applied the former to Godwin's flesh of her head. Plus I wanted to really go for that corpse like appearance, particularly with the hollowness of her eyes.

The outfit she wore on the night of her passing was inspired by late 1880s bustle dresses. I saw that the og book of Bram Stoker's Dracula is set in an unspecified year of the mid 1890s, so I had an idea to make her reanimated self reflect the clothing/dresses of that era. Like having her upper part be a balloon sleeve dress with a blouse, and the lower part being a scarp of fabric from a late 1800s Balayeuse. I mentioned in my first character designs for the main pcs that when Godwin asked Igor for clothes, I imagined he made an outfit for her based on scraps he had in Frankenstein's lab. This also included chainmail above the blouse and under the dress coat based off of a Victorian Burlesque outfit. Godwin's gotta protect her new body somehow haha

This last part is just me rambling at this point but I thought this was fun to include. The two women flexing are Josephine Schauer Blatt aka Minerva, and Laverie Vallee aka Charmion (right). They were both strongwomen in the late 1880s, with Minerva having great talent in weightlifting and professional wrestling, while Charmion also performed in vaudeville trapeze. Just a fun little discovery I came across when looking up muscular build ideas for Godwin based on Justin's description :)

I think my favorite thing about TWDG TFS is the lighting and how good basic shots can look. I know these are present in pretty much every season, but with the more modern graphics and everything, I see them more often and they look really good in s4 especially. Some examples here:

Even basic shots like the Minerva or Brody ones just look really good and clean, fits the whole "nature" vibe for me since they're in the woods pretty much the whole way. It's just something I feel the older seasons lack, the graphics update in the definitive series helped a lot though. And not to mention that they make for really good icons.

Or maybe I'm just crazy and need a really hot shower to shut me up. (pc to whoever took these ive had them for a while lol)

OCtober day 5 - re-designed OC

one of my blorbo OCs of all time ever my beautiful dommy prince warlock Minerva!!! my pc for a Descent into Avernus campaign run by a friend and wonderful dm of mine :D her original design is on the right - she was originally an amethyst dragonborn and thin/lanky (god forbid) but the game went on pause after the first session for a year and a half and in that time I became less of a coward >:3

as you can see she has changed. A lot. she's even got the hand of vecna!! gee I wonder what other dragonborn had that at some point. wonder how he's doing

Far Roofs

Playtesters haven't really dug that deep into the first complete draft of Nobilis yet. It's ... a large book, and most of the newer stuff isn't actually needed in playtest games. So I've mostly been waiting there and letting the project sit a bit.

In the meantime, I've been laying out the Far Roofs, which has been basically done for a few years. Also holy heck is it cool.

I just kind of forgot about it because I got distracted by Nobilis and then neck issues meant Nobilis took an extra year it really shouldn't have needed to finish (plus a lot of time that it did need) and everything has been terrible but geez

It's a diced game with my standard 5d6 system and a river, an order-of-magnitude upgrade to the CMWGE/Glitch quest system (a bit too experimental and casual to flow forward into Nobilis, probably, but still), and I should be fitting the loose equivalent of 16 CMWGE Arcs/Glitch traits/Nobilis traits, a setting book, and a Glass-Maker's Dragon length campaign into a ~230 page book.

(It may be obvious that small books are not always my goal, or at least do not always win the scrimmage of goals, but it's my priority here. It bugged me that I could ultimately only give digital, ephemeral goods to the people who needed the hardship tier on the Glitch crowdfund.)

Oh! It also has talking rats. Lots of my games do these days tbh at least in the background somewhere but this one heavily features them. You do not play them (usually at least) but you do usually have one for each PC archetype you don't take.

(My last playtest had the grandmother rat Sascha De Rosa, the bard DIY “Dee” Smirnov, the warden Thalia Opera Minerva Alphabet Primorsky III, the reckless prinxe Utena Borgias, and a bunch of miscellaneous shieldbearer Kimuras as its mischief.)

Gender: Female

General appearance: Probably slightly around taller than Minnie height, with thick black hair like Val's that she tries to keep short so it doesn't get in the way. Is definitely tubby and covered in baby fat that she never grew out of. Wears blue screen deflecting goggles so she can see better at night while on her PC and low effort comfy clothing like pajama pants whenever possible.

Personality:  She's a total dweeb and gamer-brained loser who acts like a hormone addled teenage boy trying to find a date before Friday night. Can't stop herself from hitting on cute boys and girls out in public or talking about gaming strats to anyone who'll listen, much to her own agonizing embarrassment once she realizes she's gone overboard... Hates being chubby, despite loving her moms warm doughy hugs in private, as they are not allowed to show her affection in public!

Special Talents: Is a small time youtuber who can build PCs, mess with custom controllers, restore arcade cabinets, and design mods for Steam games. Basically, she runs a hobby channel that has the occasional let's play.

Who they like better: Minerva, because she's probably sweeter than the grumpy goth bear she shacked up with despite having many more obviously better options--

Personal headcanon: Athena trieddddddd so hard to get into the practical aspect of the family programming trade back in college but ended up bored to tears, so she decided to nickel and dime it until she became a sort of niche e-celeb on her side of the net. She makes a decent chunk of change editing videos too!

i'm not ready for the series to be over Mr. Mulligan. God i cant believe how far i fell into this series so fast. I missed out on the previous D20 adventures because I just got hook only last November or Dec. I truly love every one of the PCs and many of these NPCs and i am terrified for their fates.

back then i didn't had a tablet or a good pc to run even a decent drawing app, so i just did stuff on mspaint This Minerva here took like 1 week to make if i recall correctly, at that time i was starting uni and fire emblem heroes was released and me and a friend were super excited to try it out! ah... time flies by....

okay so far i really love amnesty and it's so different than i expected. let me dump my thoughts

first off. beforehand, the title "monster of the week" completely misled me because i really thought that meant there would be a new monster every single episode, when really it's just a bunch of mini-arcs exactly like every other taz story lmfao. and now that im in it, im really enjoying the MotW game because it lends itself so well to the narrative and i feels so easy to interpret and understand.

the pcs are fantastic... i adore duck so much, what a guy!! beacon is the coolest 😭 and there's something about the way travis plays aubrey that feels so genuine and lived-in and very endearing. that highly impulsive bisexual 20-something stage magician just leaps off the waveform

ned is fun but i think he's my least favorite clint pc because i often get annoyed by the terrible lies clint comes up with that are so extreme just to be funny it ends up being not funny at all... and so far ned's class has hardly been used at all, his backstory as a criminal serves the story well but it feels like the class itself isn't very useful. though some of his decisions have been very very interesting and compelling to me, like sacrificing his car, and taking the hit to stop the goatmen from escaping. also if he kept his loot from the night he robbed aubrey's house, does that mean he still has the flamebright pendant?!? bitch give it back

but anyways i love the worldbuilding so much and the setting and the town. very cozy fun good vibes

the NPCs. oh my god the Npcs i love them so much. i would die for momma and barclay. minerva has my heart. im so thirsty for more dani scenes. heathcliff is a fantastic char. i've only had indrid for like 3 episodes now but if anything happens to him or he leaves town, i will explode. and billy??? my sweet billy??? i am extremely invested in billy's wellbeing, what a darling.

one random thing. the boys never asked about how the sylfs get their magical disguises. and after they met indrid, they lied to barclay about going to meet him, as if indrid is some secret stranger. none of the boys said anything about how it seems very obvious that indrid is the one who gives all the sylfs at amnesty lodge their disguise accessories so im not sure if they've realized... maybe it's just too obvious to point out lmfao but like why did they lie about where they were going? anyways whatever

i have a lot of thoughts about the story that are kind of jumbled. there's just a LOT going on. it's increasingly sus to me, all of the similarities between the abominations and the sylvan world. somehow the abominations DON'T come from there, even though they have the exact same goat people and the exact same black slime as the corrupt sylvan forest (i can't remember what it's called).

overall, very fun campaign. so many good goofs. im having a great time
