How does POS payment work?
(Human directed ai content.)
POS (Point of Sale) payment is a method of transaction where a customer pays for goods or services at the point of sale, typically using a debit or credit card. Here's how it generally works:
Initiation: The customer selects the goods or services they want to purchase and proceeds to the checkout counter or POS terminal.
Transaction Entry: The cashier or the customer inserts, swipes, or taps their debit or credit card into the POS terminal. The terminal reads the information stored on the card's magnetic stripe or chip.
Authorization: The POS terminal sends the transaction details, including the card information and the transaction amount, to the card network (e.g., Visa, Mastercard, etc.) through the acquiring bank (the merchant's bank).
Authentication: The card network validates the transaction and verifies if the card has sufficient funds or credit limit to cover the purchase. It may also perform additional security checks such as requiring a PIN or signature.
Approval/Decline: Based on the authentication process, the card network sends back an approval or decline response to the POS terminal. If approved, the transaction proceeds; if declined, the customer is informed, and alternative payment methods may be used.
Confirmation: Once the transaction is approved, the POS terminal prints a receipt for the customer to sign or confirm the transaction. In some cases, customers may also receive a digital receipt via email or text message.
Settlement: At the end of the business day, the merchant's POS terminal batch processes all approved transactions. The acquiring bank then transfers the funds from the customer's card issuer (the bank that issued the debit or credit card) to the merchant's account.
Funds Availability: Depending on the merchant agreement with the acquiring bank, the funds from the transactions are typically deposited into the merchant's bank account within a couple of business days.
Overall, POS payments offer a convenient and efficient way for customers to make purchases without the need for cash, while also providing merchants with a secure method of accepting payments and managing their finances.

i fully believe that the broke family's pinball machine came about because one day skip won literally like $150 on a scratch off and instead of buying food diapers a cute gift for his wife ANYTHING he went right to a stupid pawn shop and loaded that thing dangerously into his truck. not strapped down right or anything just raw in the bed held on with prayers. then had the nerve to tell brandi it was a birthday gift for dustin (his birthday was 3 months ago)

need to convince myself that i do not need anymore tattoos or piercings before december
i really need to start donating plasma again- it’s a good thing to do but i’m totally doing it for selfish reasons.
not only can i make a bit of extra money by doing nothing, but donating plasma encourages me to actually look after my body- you have to keep your iron and protein counts up and need to be well hydrated before donations. i was at my healthiest when i was donating. it also guaranteed me a few hours a week that were just for me. i could nap, listen to music, study, read, whatever i wanted for those few hours. i feel like it sounds insane that i looked forward to having a machine take my blood and separate it then give it back sans plasma just for a bit of “me time” but i genuinely did. even when i had a vasovagal response to the process i never regretted it. it was quiet time just for me, genuinely relaxing lol

A teeny tiny cottage that would be absolutely perfect for my needs has just come up for sale in a row of cottages I've been fawning over. But it's £50,000 over the maximum I could afford right now based on using all my life savings as a desposit and what the bank might be willing to offer me on a mortgage, and I looked at what it would cost per month on the mortgage calculator anyway and it would leave me with very, very, little left to live on with the current interest rate. And it just sucks spectacularly that as a single person, I will pretty much never be able to move out 🙃

if i’d been a (single, unmarried, not sharing finances with anyone else) adult and not a 17-year-old kid in like 2008 i would have gladly paid $5000 for plane tickets to see my favorite band.
even now, if there were like, $5000 time machine tickets to the mid-late 2000s the only thing stopping me from seeing my favorite band would be the fact that i now share finances with another person and dropping that amount of money on something just for me would be a huge dick move.
