Hey why are you retiring the Paypal payment options? Every week I hear how Tumblr must raise more income sources, why are you taking the means to support Tumblr away?

Answer: Hello, @tatostew!

Firstly, let us say that we hoped to offer PayPal as a payment method for Ad-Free, but ran into some technical issues with the implementation. To keep our billing processes running smoothly, we’ve had to remove it as an option.

For the subscriptions that are still active, we have put them into “pending cancellation” status. This means they will run their course and then expire. If you want to renew your subscription, you will need to re-subscribe after your subscription expires. There were also subscriptions that should have been renewed but weren’t able to, so these have expired, too. Anyone affected by either of these scenarios will have received an email explaining what has happened and what, if anything, to do next. And in no situation will any subscription auto-renew. 

Secondly, for those folk who do not have a credit card and are not sure how to renew: when you purchase Ad-Free through the Tumblr site, the only option is to pay with a credit card. However, if you purchase Ad-Free in the Tumblr app instead, it’s processed as an in-app purchase—so if you use the Android app, the purchase will be billed through the Google Play store, and if you use the iOS app, the purchase will be billed through Apple. 

We believe Apple and Google Play both support PayPal as a payment method, as well as several other different payment options, so that might be an alternative option for you when the time comes to resubscribe!

Everyone thought the same thing: my household is inefficient. It provides shelter for myself and my family but I cannot quantify that using my late-capitalism vocabulary. Also, I am not generating income from the pull-out couch in the basement.

So, instead of uniting with neighbours to build a new vocabulary that spoke of secure households for all people, they washed towels for strangers and fretted over star numbers. Hopefully, their business firm would earn enough that their household could join the wealthy hegemony actively destroying the public good. A new vocabulary was never created.

Evelyn's heart plummeted into her stomach, pure dread filling her. Levi had told her that all the Ackermans worked for him. She should have been more careful, waiting to make a move after figuring out who his accomplices were and where they hid around the room. How could she have been so utterly stupid? But, there was hope yet, maybe he didn't know who she was. It was entirely possible that Levi kept some of his darker and more intimate secrets to himself. That was something she could cling onto yet.

"It's a pleasure to meet you-" She manages after overcoming her initial shock and fear.

"And you as well miss. Who did you come here with? I'd feel terrible taking you from a date."

"I- not important, some asshole I'd very much like to get away from. Already you seem to be better company than he was."

"Is that a fact? Didn't I see you come in with Levi?"

She swallowed, trying her best to maintain a calm demeanor. "Levi? No, I'm not that famous-"

"Well Levi's my nephew. A stubborn brat, but you seem just like his type. Maybe I should introduce you."

"No really, you don't have to, I'm quite fine on my own." Panic starts to rise.

"It's no trouble. Levi! I've got someone here for you to meet!"

There's a sickeningly dreadful pause, Evelyn watches as Levi's eyes scan the crowd for the voice calling his name. When he lands on Kenny, and then to Evelyn, his expression darkens as he makes his way over to them.

With nowhere to run, Evelyn waits until this monster stands before her, an enraged expression on his face.

"Where did you run off to? Didn't I tell you to stay put?"

"So you know this lovely lady Levi."

"Yes. She's my latest guilty pleasure."

A knowing grin comes to Kenny's face, as if this was common practice for the likes of Levi. "I see. Good thing I found her then, she was trying to skip the party."

Levi's eyebrow raised. "Thank you for telling me Kenny, I'll be sure she understands that I don't like to be made a fool of."

"Be careful to keep your prizes in check runt. Next time your bird tries to the fly the nest I'll be waiting there with open arms. Such a pretty and young thing would be perfect for a man with such refined tastes as me."

It was clear Levi was withholding the urge to seriously injure the other man, but thankfully restrained himself. "You'll be smart to remember your place."

Kenny chuckles. "Trust me, I know my place. And I know yours too."

With another angry glare Levi pulls Evelyn roughly by the arm, leaving the smirking man behind to stare intensely at Evelyn.

"Make a fool out of me will you? I'll teach you some manners."

Never had Evelyn been so stretched and spent in her entire life. The whole time it was like her body was going to split in two. A torture she begged him over and over to stop. But he never let up, continuing to beat the lessons into her until his sigh of release signified the end.

As he laid down beside her, turning away as if disgusted with her and her behavior, he spoke. "Be sure to never embarrass me like that again, or I can promise your punishment will be much worse."

Fear gripped her, because she believed him. She didn't know truly what he was capable of yet, and she sure as hell didn't want to find out.

Every time we see someone pay, it's just before disaster happens, and the payment is insurance that things will be restored.

If there is payment required and it's not given, disaster happens and those unpaid are destroyed.

s1, Crowley and Aziraphale pay for their ice cream just before they're snatched; this means their lives are saved and they'll be fine. Crowley paid for the Bentley's gas once, and Aziraphale paid for the bookshop's land, so both are also saved.

s2, Elspeth steals the laudenum, she steals a suicide pill intending to pay with her life but didn't pay in any manner, so a balance is due for the pain/death owed: Crowley. Aziraphale took a body without paying, so someone has to repay the body owed: Morag. Dalrymple only partially paid for a body, so payment was still owed: he repaid with his own. Is it that your own life is less than stealing someone else's, or was it interest on delayed payment, or was he paying more than was owed? I think stealing someone else's increases the balance.

Mrs H is owed 40 bottles of whiskey, and Aziraphale pays her back with one big trick, no miracles: no fake payment, but real earthly means. Heaven/hell can't be involved in earthly payment.

The zombies believe they are owed their lives, does this count? We see them take two, are they owed yet another? I think so. Lying to trick people out of payment doesn't count.

Heaven loses an angel, so they take one back. Hell also loses a demon; when do they come calling? Crowley Grand Duke. Crowley is also owed a favor by hell.

Payment on earth only seems to be in force in the past, for s2. Death being on holiday seems to be true. Perhaps that's why there's so many anachronisms in the present, as there's no temporal payment.

s1, babies are given and taken in equal measure, but there is one extra life; I think all the food we see eaten is "paid for" by the free-for-all food fight in e1. Adam takes lives, so at the end he must give them back. Adam's own extra life is repaid by changing the world such that he's no longer "extra": he's now a set of twins, just as he was in the beginning. Crowley offers the nazis their lives, they don't take it, so he's not taking anything without payment.
