When entering any place of business, such as a store or restaurant, if a staff member greets you, then acknowledge them and greet them back.

Although for many jobs it's a required part of their job to greet you, especially retail workers, receptionists, and restaurant workers to name a few, that doesn't make it feel any less dehumanizing to say "Hello!" to another human being only for them to ignore you. Acknowledging staff members and greeting them back is important for acknowledging their humanity, they are, after all, a human being, and not an automated machine.

This is also important when going to check out at a store. If you approach the cash register, and the cashier greets you, you should acknowledge them and greet them back. Cashiers already have to deal with being dehumanized enough. The least you can do is help humanize them by acknowledging them when they greet you and speak to you.

All my horrible little sons are growing pretty well. There is still one upper house that needs prepped to move some of the little ones to for space and then that's all the space we've got. Somehow I think I've pulled off the logistics of fitting nearly 6000 poinsettias in the space I have to grow them. But now we'll have to see how they finish growing and then how many we end up selling.

a manager i hadn't seen since.. i genuinely can't remember when?? messaged me while i was napping, saying that she's sorry it's been a while, but she's messaging everyone to let them know she's back in work tomorrow and looking forward to seeing us..

which is v sweet, but now i feel bad that i didn't notice i hadn't seen her in Months til like. last week 🫣

my mom keeps telling me i should call a place i applied to a job at online to ask if i can have an interview or something and im like you are such a boomer. who does that. but fine i will. but do you guys think itll work like at all. i know it cant hurt cause if they dont hire me they were probably already not going to hire me but aughh. mostly i think it wont work because at my old job i was the one answering all phone calls so i know if someone called me and asked that i would just be like ‘yeah idk man uh we’ll email you if we need you im a minimum wage part time employee what the hell do i know about that’. so..

a couple of recent acquisitions! they're so pretty!! i'm really loving the quality of the creeproductions i can't wait to get the rest (i've already got draculaura in addition to the other two here) and freak du chic toralei is one of the few g1 toraleis i really love (too many of them including her core doll have that awful i want to speak the manager looking bob -_-) and she goes great with my gooliope (i'm really trying to get all of the freak du chic line, i love all of their looks!) but i'm really needing to get some shelf space soon ha all my g1 girlies are blocking my tv now!

Even when my self esteem is at its lowest I take some comfort in the fact knowing that even as I age I have not and will not become just another awful old white person. At least I don’t think I would, mostly because I don’t have the time or energy to waste being an insufferable self centered jerk who takes out every perceived slight or difficulty as a personal affront meant to be met with an endless array of childish outbursts.

I love going to a store all excited to buy something and I ask someone if they work there (so they could help me find something cause I couldn't for the life of me find it) and the employee goes 'yeah' and straight up walks up away before I could speak.

I went home. I'm buying the thing online. This is why I never leave my house.
