Whose Problem Is It When the Primarchs Fall in Love? Pt.1

note: this was meant to be crack-ish but I sniffed some angst powder so some of these came out angstier than expected. also for anyone who sent requests, I'm working on them family problems and school are just getting in the way <33

Lion - It’s his problem. On the outside nothing is wrong everything is fine but on the inside everything is wrong and everything is NOT fine but you wouldn’t notice anything is going on. For Lion, falling in love involves a lot of self-discovery and constant repression. It’s all internal and his resting bitch face isn’t helping.

Unnamed Primarch #2 - You got erased out of existence too.

Fulgrim - On everybody’s soul, especially Ferrus Manus’ it’s EVERYONE’S problem. Not even the Chaos Gods and Empy are safe! This man right here has so many unaddressed self-worth issues that he constantly feels the need to have someone to validate his acts of courting before even doing the thing. 

Perturabo -  Its everyone’s problem. Not unlike Fulgrim, Perturabo has so many unaddressed self-worth issues and feels the need for validation but unlike Fulgrim, its all out in the open. He’s already bitter about a lot of things and if he falls in love it wouldn’t be surprising if he’s already given up on pursuing that person. You’d be something he deems out of his reach, someone not even worth reaching because the rejection is in his mind guaranteed. He’s bitter towards you, loving hating everything you do and say. If you express any sort of positive reaction towards any of his gene-sons his ire towards that specific astartes worsens. The worst part? If your feelings towards Perturabo are reciprocated you’d have difficulty reaching him with him practically pushing you away. Please be patient with him, his heart is fragile.

Jaghatai Khan - Problem? There’s no problem! Genuinely, if this guy falls in love there wouldn’t be an issue because he’s in tune with his emotions and doesn’t have a penchant for skinning people alive (sorry Konrad). The closest thing this man would have to a problem when falling in love is the issue of courting. Chogoris courting norms involve matchmakers, families and of course bride-prices and dowries. If you aren’t from Chogoris he’ll try his best to follow the equivalent of/mix Chogorian traditions in courting. Either way, it’s less of a problem and more of a brief logistical headache at most. 10/10 would marry him tbh

Leman Russ - It's your problem.  He's enthusiastic about it and so is his entire legion. Thats a lot of wingmen and they're probably singing the Fenrisian equivalent of kiss the girl every chance they get. It's very endearing to be honest but the eagerness borders being overbearing.

Rogal Dorn - Dorn falling in love only affects 3 parties, you, him and his Iron Fists. Out of the 3 parties, Dorn falling in love is only disastrous to 2, the Fists and him. Dorn’s acts of affection are quiet, and if you aren’t aware of his affection these acts are easy to miss. It doesn’t help that a painted brick has more self-expression than this man. Pair that with not wanting to be improper this results in what he deems romantic and not lacking in proprietary  (He helped you landscape and design your garden). Now, the Fists come into play here by being Dorn’s feedback loop of ideas and internal turmoil that more often than not involves building things. The Fists don’t really mind but they are a bit miffed about fortifying your house or something when they could be something that they believe is more effective.

Konrad Curze - Its your problem and his problem. Look, this man is a murderous mess that's haunted by the visions of the terrible future if he falls in love he’d hate himself for doing so because it feels wrong. Positive emotions and experiences are foreign to him, so for Konrad love is something he feels he is entirely undeserving of and is just waiting for the ball to drop. In all honestly, he expects you to die or be the subject of his terrible visions so he immediately expects the worse and resigns himself to watching you from a distance. As this is all internal no one knows what’s going on with Konrad other than his usual Konradness so imagine the terror of being constantly watched by the Night Haunter with no clue on what drew his attention in the first place. 

Sanguinius - It’s his problem but he like all his problems its ignored and repressed. Sanguinius tries to deny the fact that he’s fallen in love for numerous reasons, including The Red Thirst and his impending doom. Also, a part of Sanguinius fears rejection, or at least a form of it. He’s beloved and he knows it but to be loved in the way that someone seeks to know all of him feels impossible. He is loved as an idol, a figure of all that is and could be good and that he’d come to accept. Being truly loved is a dream to him, a dream he holds close to his heart and something he’d take to his grave.

 Ferrus Manus - It's your problem because this man is like a rock. Feelings? What’s that? It’s not that Ferrus is unfeeling, in fact I feel like he’s one of the Primarchs who fall in love the easiest but when he falls in love he doesn’t know how to categorize that person exactly. He is fond, sure, but he can’t put a finger on how fond he is so he puts you in the my-favorite-people box with Fulgim. Basically,  he shoots himself in the foot early on by putting you in the friend zone without realising it. Good luck falling first with this guy, its slow-burn pining with a metal wall for you.

( a/n: omgggg this has been in the works FOREVER, before jen announced leaving arsenal which i am still not over tbh. but it’s finally here! especially dedicated to @mccabeswife since she requested it ! i hope you enjoy ! )

another media day at the arsenal training grounds meant a lot of bored footballers sat around waiting for their turn in front of the camera, the current youtube video being filmed was for three pairs only, another one of those ‘guess what the person is saying whilst you wear sound cancelling headphones’ videos that people went crazy over. the lucky girls who had been paired together for said video had been chosen at random, and you had ended up with leah with frida, manu with katie and viv with lotte which meant the rest of you were trying to entertain yourselves elsewhere.

which wasn’t really an issue when you were all shoved into a recreational room with an assortment of snacks, gossip and phones in hand. beth, the self proclaimed quidnunc of the group had been sat in between you and alessia for the last ten minutes, and had yet to stop telling you about the ongoing drama in the west ham team that she had found out about at an event over the weekend. you paid attention for as long as you could, sharing looks with alessia as you both struggled to keep up with the fast paced ramblings coming from the yorkshire woman but beth was none the wiser.

you felt a dip in the sofa to the left of you, the last bit of space being occupied by someone who threw an arm around your shoulder and when you got a whiff of the familiar perfume she sprayed on every morning, you knew exactly who it was.

you turned your head and smiled at the culprit, jen sat sporting her usual messy bun on top of her head and cheeky smile on her face. she pulled you further into her side and gently squeezed your upper arm, “she still talking your ear off?”

you huffed a laugh at that, looking to see if beth had heard but she was still too busy ranting and raving, now focusing her attention on alessia since you were now occupied elsewhere, poor girl.

“something like that.” you hummed, snuggling up to your taller girlfriend who was happy to let you lean on her. “you finished your influencer activities?” you teased, referring to the number of tiktok’s she had forced some of the girls to take part in since they all arrived.

“aye, i get a lot of love and appreciation from the fans for providing them with five star, behind the scenes content i’ll have you know.” she told you, “but yeah. letting steph take over for now, think she’s really getting into those football murder mystery filters.”

you glanced over to where she nodded towards, indeed seeing steph with her phone in her hand obviously recording herself, with kyra and vic sat either side of her laughing at the story that was unfolding on the filter.

“what happens when she steals your tiktok crown?” you asked with a sly smirk, knowing the older woman would have a meltdown if steph’s content starting getting more love than hers.

“don’t jinx it.” she shoved you lightly, “i’d have to post something outrageous to get me my title back. know i have some mugshots of you deep in my camera roll, i’m sure they’d come in handy.”

“you wouldn’t!” you gasped, sitting up slightly in your seat and the scottish woman laughed at your reaction.

you knew she had accumulated a hefty amount of embarrassing pictures of you over the year that you’d been together, ranging from you asleep with your mouth open to you pulling the ugliest faces whilst you awaited the impact of the ball to hit you during games.

“then you better hope steph gets bored quickly.” she shrugged.

you playfully rolled your eyes at that, finally relaxing back down beside her, grabbing ahold of her hand that was hanging over your shoulder, interlocking your fingers as you did.

“you’re so mean to me, sometimes i don’t know why i agreed to be your girlfriend.” you shook your head as if you were disappointed with yourself, trying your best to hold back the smile that was itching to come out.

that didn’t last long though, as only a moment later the defender jumped up from her spot on the sofa and leaned most of her body weight on you, her hands flew to grab either side of your face so she could get a good view of it as she began to lather every inch of your skin in kisses, her lips not leaving one patch of your face untouched. your squealed and thrashed wildly beneath her, your shoulder knocking into beth’s who finally halted in her gossiping at the interruption.

she kept going, stopping for a second to grin at your flushed state. “you fancied me too much to say no to being my girlfriend you goon.” and with that she continued her loving attack on you.

you wriggled around, laughing as you fought for breath and attempted to push her from you but she wasn’t budging.

“jen! stop, i can’t breathe.” you shrieked between giggles, hands gripping at her red jumper, “you’re right! you’re right, please let me go!”

finally deciding you’d had enough, jen let go of you and you caught your breath as you sagged against beth with a hand on your chest. “you could’ve killed me then, i hope you know.”

“so dramatic you are.” she tutted, pulling gently on your arm so that you were sat upright once again. “now gimme a proper one.”

you grinned, and gladly leaned in towards your girlfriend, giving her exactly what she wanted as your lips met halfway and you sunk into the display of affection almost immediately, your lips moving together in unison before you felt a harsh nudge in your side.

you yelped and pulled back, glaring at beth who only looked proud of what she’d done.

“not in front of the children please.”

the next day you arrived back at the training grounds, this time with a full day of practice ahead of you rather than a day in front of the cameras which you were very much looking forward to. media day was always fun, especially when you were partnered up with the right person and yesterday you were lucky enough to have gotten cloe as your pal for the day, so you had no complaints.

but you were excited to get back to doing what you loved, especially with an important match ahead of you. you wanted to get your head in the game and make sure you were one hundred percent ready to face the opposing team on sunday.

everything was normal for all of five minutes, you walked in and greeted some of the staff lingering near the entrance before you headed off to the changing rooms so you could change into your training kit, but before you even had chance to push the door open, a body came barrelling into yours, making you stumble on your feet and your arm fly out to steady yourself against the wall.

you looked to the person with furrowed brows, your jaw dropped in shock at the scare you’d just gotten. “christ steph, what’s up with you?”

she looked worried, as her hands gripped onto both of your arms and the aussie looked behind her where leah and lia were approaching, with much calmer demeanours. “i have to tell you something before you find out from someone else, but you have to promise you won’t be mad at me.”

you eyed her warily, your head cocking to the side before you looked over to the two other girls with narrowed eyes. “what is it?”

“no! you have to promise first.”

you rolled your eyes at that, beginning to panic a little as your mind ran wild with possibilities of what information steph could be withholding from you.

“fine, i promise. now tell me.” you told her, not really meaning it, you just needed her to spill the beans before you tired yourself out from overthinking.

“i kind of, may have, accidentally posted a tiktok that had you and jen kissing in the background of it.” she winced, waiting a beat to carry on. “but i promise it was a genuine mistake! if i had known it was in there i would’ve never, ever posted it i know you guys didn’t want your relationship to be public yet, and i am so sorry please don’t be mad at me.”

“what?”

a stupid question, most definitely but it was the only thing that you could manage to say at this moment in time. you didn’t know how to feel or what to say as you processed the information just given to you by steph who was still watching you carefully, as if she was awaiting some kind of wild outburst.

an array of different emotions passed through you simultaneously, you were annoyed at steph for outing your relationship on a platform that spread content like wildfire. no doubt screenshots and recordings of the tiktok had already been shared to the likes of twitter and instagram, posts made that couldn’t be taken back now. how could steph have let that happen? why did she not spot it before she pressed post?

you were also panicking. did jen know? would she be annoyed? would this change things between you? you’d both agreed when you first began dating, after months of mutual pining, that when you got together you would keep your relationship as private as you could, for as long as you could.

something that was unfortunately common amongst women’s football, was how invasive some fans could be in the players lives. you had seen how they could overstep boundaries and pry too deep into stuff they didn’t need to know about many times, which would then jump to them spreading their opinions without a care about who was on the other side of their sometimes vicious comments. you’d been witness to it ruining some of your friends relationships, and you didn’t want that to happen to you and jen. jen who you loved, who loved you back, jen who you could see yourself marrying one day in the future. so you had come to the smart, unanimous decision to keep it hush for as long as you could. but now, it was out there.

“does jen know?” you asked next, deciding that was the priority for you right now.

steph shook her head, “no. i was gonna tell her but she’s been talking to jonas since she got in.”

jen had set off an hour prior to you, with fans sometimes lingering outside the training grounds in hopes of getting a photo with some of you before you came in, you didn’t want to risk them seeing you and jen showing up together a few times too many and start to put two and two together, so more often than not you took separate cars and showed up at different times.

you nodded at that, and took in a deep breathe as you tried to think of what to do next. seeing as it was already out, there was no way you’d be able to backtrack or deny that you were in a relationship with jen, so the only real option you had left was to come clean to the fans about it all. you just weren’t sure how to.

“are you still my friend?” you were brought back into the present by steph’s quiet voice, her eyes were still scanning you warily and you probably would’ve laughed at how silly she sounded if you weren’t the person on the other end.

“course i’m still your mate steph.” you told her, and the blonde visibly deflated in front of you. “just wish you had the common sense to check what’s going on in your tiktok’s before you posted them.”

you were half joking, half serious. but when steph tutted and shoved you playfully, you didn’t have the heart to be upset with her anymore. it’s not as if she had posted it on purpose, and with how she reacted when she approached you, you were sure she’d been beating herself up over it since she’d realised what she’d done.

“see! told you she wouldn’t be mad, got yourself all worked up over nothing.” leah spoke up, and then you remembered her and lia were still lingering in the back.

“yeah well, i wouldn’t have blamed her if she was.” steph said, and you pulled the aussie in for a side hug.

“it’s okay steph, just gotta find jen now and spill the beans.”

it was only twenty minutes later when jen joined you all in the changing rooms, already clad in her arsenal training kit and with her water bottle in hand, she spotted you almost instantly and her face brightened when she realised you had arrived whilst she’d been busy.

“when did you get here?” she asked, pulling you into a hug which you gladly reciprocated.

“not too long ago.” you told her, rubbing your hands up and down her back. “got something i need to tell you though.”

she pulled back a little at that, looking down at you with a raised brow. “should i be worried?”

you shrugged, “i mean, it’s not anything to panic about but … i don’t know if you’re going to like it.”

you nodded your head towards the door, gesturing to the empty hallway on the other side where you could both have the conversation privately with nobody there to eavesdrop. jen nodded in agreement, retracting from your embrace and pulling on your hand to tug you in the direction you had just motioned towards.

now standing in the vacant corridor, you leaned your back against the grey wall and watched jen as she stood in front of you with her hands on her hips as she waited for you to speak, which you did after a sigh.

“steph practically ambushed me this morning, she um, did something stupid.” you began, scratching your head as you thought about how to put what happened into words. “you know all those tiktoks she was messing around with yesterday?”

you waited for jen to nod, which she did a second later so then you continued. “well she posted some of them and in one of them, it has you and i kissing in it, in the background. and it’s definitely too late for us to do anything about it.”

you stood with baited breath, similar to how steph had been when she was breaking the news to you, all of a sudden wishing you had the power to read minds as jen’s poker face came out in full force, the brunette not hinting to how she was feeling at all. at least she wasn’t tugging at her loose strands of hair, or biting at her nails, two big tell tale signs that she was stressing which you’d picked up over the months you’d spent together, which was a small win you were willing to take.

“well i guess the secrets out then.” jen shrugged, her hands remaining on her hips as you looked at her slightly puzzled.

“you’re not bothered?” you asked, half expecting a bigger reaction from the woman who was always so careful with how you interacted in public.

“i mean, it’s not great is it?” she asked, “but honestly, a part of me is kind of glad its out there now. i love our little bubble, not having to deal with people we don’t even know deciding whether we’re a good fit or not and all that stuff. but at least now, we don’t have to stress over the littlest things everytime we go out together.”

you listened to the points she made, nodding along with pursed lips in agreement with what she was saying. one of the most annoying things about have a relationship that wasn’t public, was having to be on guard everytime you both wanted to spend time with eachother out of the house, leading to the two of you just ending up having most of your date nights at home instead, not having the energy to make sure there were no prying eyes wherever you went.

“and we don’t have to watch what we post on social media. no more making sure our stories don’t give away that we’re at the same place, or triple checking that none of our stuff’s in the background.” she added on, and your lips quirked up in amusement at the amount of times you’d had to quickly delete a story or instagram post when you realised there was a beattie shirt in the background, or anything else that gave away who you were with.

“so this is kind of like a blessing in disguise?”

she grinned, “yeah something like that. but don’t tell steph i said anything, she’ll be gloating for weeks.”

you laughed at that, finally being able to relax properly for the first time since steph had practically jumped you whilst you were on your way to get changed. jen approached you, clearing the few steps that kept her away from you and pulling you into her warm embrace, pressing a kiss to your forehead as she did. “at least now we don’t have to do any big, relationship reveal post. you know how much i’ve been dreading that.”

you hummed, “think we should get steph to do a big post for us? i’m sure her drafts are stacked with videos of us.”

“we can ask. but not yet, wanna pretend i’m really mad at her for a bit so i can bribe her into pampering me for a bit.”

you scoffed at that, giving the scottish woman a faux disgusted look. “you’re evil beattie.”

“you love me.”

“What practical use (aside from suicidal stupidity) that the Emperor has for my brother is beyond me. It would be a mercy to give him peace.”

“He knows nothing about the art of war. And yet, he is a master of its application.”

“Anger management issues.

“He deserved better. He deserves better. His sons are exceptional soldiers.”

6. The Russ:

“And they have the temerity to call -me- the barbarian.”

7. Rogal Dorn:

“His sons hold a wall with exceptional determination, and can be relied upon to do their duties, even if they prefer a more aggressive stance. Their father, however…”

8. Konrad Curze:

“Run.”

9. Sanguinius:

“He has taken to calling himself an angel. I believe this is evidence of a sense of humor. The man is by no means stupid. Not by any metric.”

10. Ferrus Manus:

“He has an exceptional grasp of armored tactics. He is a master of close assault with heavy infantry, for that matter. His negatives do not outweigh his utility as an ally.”

13. Roboute Gulliman:

“He understands the theoretical, but cares nothing for it. “

“My brother is a capable warfighter. Little is credited to his resilience… if he were not mindful, powerful of will, supremely intelligent… then what is called a tragedy would long ago have become an atrocity.”

“The Emperor has a fondness for dogs, it seems. You would think they might get on better, wouldn’t you?”

18. Vulkan:

“It is not so much that he does not care, as much as it is that he cannot care.”

19. Corvus Corax:

“Another liberated slave. I do not pretend to know why the means of his liberation was chosen as it was.”

20. Alpharius Omegon:

“He is what is needed. Our enemies are sometimes brutal monsters. To defeat a monster, you sometimes need one of your own.”

somewhat related to my morality rant from the other day, the distinction between kakania and isolde is that kakania would kill a person if the situation really called for it, if she wants to defend her honor or someone else's honor or perhaps even prove a point. but that would be considered an extreme for her, as she would be more likely to negotiate or debate her points, and if that still fails, then she'll resort to violence. even though there's probably a part of her that wants certain despicable people dead, i think she'd rather avoid having to take lives if possible

on the other hand, isolde would kill if it feels like the right thing to do for her. the way she measures right and wrong may not make sense to most other people but it sure makes sense to her, and she hardly ever doubts it, making it near impossible to get her to change her mind. despite her unusual moral compass, she does not entirely lack morals, as she has actively shown compassion toward others. interestingly, this compassion also seems to be the root of many of her issues. when you think about the events we have seen in the storyline ... she either perceives her murders as acts of mercy, through which she can free another person from their misery, or as a means to prove herself capable of being helpful, in this case to kakania specifically. the way she basically told kakania "i can also kill a manus vindictae member to prove myself to you" after killing a foundation member is a good example of this. her reasoning for killing does not seem to follow an easily discernible pattern but oftentimes it stems from good intentions, from a place of compassion

dammit maya stop trying to murder my bank account. i have a desert sunset from the old manu and i kept thinking about getting one from the new manu bc i love the new fabric so much, but i was on the fence about it bc i kept telling myself "oh i don't need two of the same design, what's the point of that when the first one is still perfectly wearable and nice looking?" then you did this sale. and i saw a review on the site with a picture comparing the old to the new and the difference in the vibrancy of the design. and i caved. why. why do you do this to me.

and yeah the printing from the new manu is SO much nicer. not only does it have 3x the printing fidelity (prints at 300dpi instead of 100, which is INSANE i’ve never encountered another fabric printer that could print over 100dpi) but the colors are also so much more vivid.

here is the photo included in the aforementioned review. left is the old manu skirt, right is the new one.

but for me this is even more pronounced in the blues. if you’ve printed anything ever, you know that blues are REALLY hard to print well. unfortunately i don’t have a good side-by-side of this on hand, as the photos of the old whale skirt were taken with a different camera and lighting and were edited differently, but the new printing on the whale skirt is ASTOUNDING.

i saw this and this is SO perfect for shikako: "ense petit placidam sub libertate quietem" (with the sword, she seeks peace under liberty) - maybe something with the shikabane-hime in the gardens-verse?

Okay anon, I did learn a few things about this phrase, specifically: The phrase is often loosely translated into English as "By the sword we seek peace, but peace only under liberty." The literal translation, however, is "she seeks with the sword peaceful repose under liberty." The "she" in question refers to the word manus from the full phrase manus haec inimica tyrannis ense petit placidam sub libertate quietem, which means "this hand, an enemy to tyrants, seeks with the sword peaceful repose under liberty."

Which, you know, is VERY in flavor of my usual “let’s murder Danzo, that’ll take care of at least 95% of the world’s issues” as seen within the Shikako Nara’s Guide To Delinquency and Military Insurrection series which is basically where I put all of my messing around in the Gardens-verse.

But I find myself interested in the, hm… steps of translation for the phrase… like, the original specifically saying “this hand, an enemy to tyrants” which is then removed from the final phrase. However, the final phrase does still keep the sword and also specifically says peace ONLY under liberty.

So my interpretation of this is: once “this hand, [she who is] an enemy to tyrants,” goes away, all that remains is the sword, ie violence, and the prioritization of liberty over peace. Which actually makes me wonder if… hm… I wouldn’t necessarily say a “dark turn AU” but a… pessimistic version of the “let’s murder Danzo, that’ll take care of at least 95% of the world’s issues.” What happens to Konoha as an institution after Danzo is dead and all of his machinations are brought to light?

ESPECIALLY considering how much he claimed to be merely following the Nidaime’s vision. Imagine the repercussions! The implication that Konoha has been so twisted and rotten from its founding. And I’m not saying it’s a return to the Warring Clans Era, because it’s not as if the clans would necessarily rekindle any issues with each other, but how much of the village infrastructure is suspect? How many people did Danzo influence either with the ROOT seal or with Shisui’s eye?

How many clans then think, we are not free under Konoha?

For example, the twins vows when becoming genin prioritize clan, then allies, then teammates, then the village. (I know they had different vows, but I think that’s roughly the order of priority for both of them?) But I can’t imagine—given Hatake Sakumo’s treatment by Konoha when he saved his teammates and “started the war” (although I do have Danzo-related headcanons for that, of course)—that vow would prevent a court martial or disciplinary action.

So if being a good soldier of Konoha contradicts being a good member of the clan, then the existence of Konoha itself is a contradiction to a clan’s existence—I am, of course, exaggerating for the sake of the premise, and I guess what I’m saying is that the premise is:

Shikako killing Danzo does solve a lot of problems, but then unleashes a whole lot of other problems which, unfortunately, a single murder will not solve. Might be multiple murders. Or maybe a war. Whoops.

Because! The fact that the phrase wasn’t shortened to just “Peace [Only] Under Liberty,” the fact that the “by the sword” part was kept is interesting. But a sword without a hand behind it, a sword without an enemy to target, is just an unsheathed weapon that could harm allies or yourself.

So that is the premise, but I don’t know what the plot would be, per se…

OR maybe this is a universe in which someone that ISN’T multiverse-traveling Shikabane-hime clocks Danzo’s rancid vibes and kills him but without a plan to deal with the fall out or a way to deescalate the situation. Like… if it were Shisui and/or Itachi who killed Danzo but in a kind of panicked way. The Uchiha clan is already SO SUSPICIOUS to the rest of the village (at least, that’s the impression they’ve been given) so they can’t come out with a laundry list of Danzo’s crimes and everything will be fine.

Okay, this isn’t the prompt necessarily, but the idea of two freaked out teenage Uchiha just panic whispering to each other over the corpse of Danzo who they just killed while Shikako watches from the shadows, bemused, because… well… they beat her to the punch, but also they have no idea what they’re doing. It’s very funny.

Do ya ever just want to murder the part of your body that doesn't work correctly and causes you so much grief because of it?

I've had this image idea in my head for mooooonths ever since a playlist mix randomly gave me the song Control by Loveless, but I didn't work on it until now because I didn't want to spoil Midas' backstory before i had written and posted it X'D

And then I just took forever drawing it because I didn't want to do a major art piece for awhile, and then suffered through drawing a skeleton (spines are bullshet e<e) and then stalled after inking it because I'm super insecure about my coloring ability. Finding a video on how to color animation by Manu Mercurial helped motivate me to coloring this though.

Kali Call Of Darkness THEORY?

❗❗MAJOR SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO ARE PLAYING FOR THE FIRST TIME:❗❗

In S1E7, we have a conversation with Sana, where she says the following:

"For helping a lost sheep."

"Muktakeshi will punish me for disobeying..."

With these lines, we can deduce, that the Chauhans (especially Priyanka) have strictly instructed her not to disclose a single information about the city and the religion, and especially, The Dozen.

So as per I think, Amrit worked to get Amala from London to Kolkata, and the entire murder of particularly Hayes was a stage play. They were already sacrificing humans, so Amrit proposed to sacrifice Hayes, to attract attention of the British govt. And therefore pull strings to get Gabriel vouch for Amala, despite her being inexperienced asf. We get to know this only in Killian's route though.

Amrit saw how Calcutta was basically 'without order' and all the stuff and wanted the Basus to be back. He arranged for Amala to stay at a former Banerjee's (one of the Dozen) household (We know that Priyanka was a Banerjee before her marriage and after marriage she became a Chauhan), so that Amala could become closer to the culture and way of life, as well as gather information. Devdas didn't know shit until Amala came, but Vimal got to know everything, and therefore warned Priyanka about Amala and the return of the Basus.

He made a deal with Priyanka, that if she keeps an eye on Amala, without disclosing information about their family and the Dozen, and reporting her activities to Vimal, he may will help her conceive. He knew the stubborn nature of the Basu women, and knew that if Amala got to know about it, she would do anything to avenge her family, and finish him, just like he did to her family in Kliphagrami in 1957. In other words, Priyanka would help him keep the Basus away as much as possible, as "another Basu got in his way" (we already know he wanted to take the place of Basus and his brother Devdas), and he would help her conceive.

Priyanka on the greed of having a child, made all sorts of arrangements, including warning Sana not to tell Amala shit.

However, Sana "disobeys" Priyanka and Aryan, and gives her info about Brahmins and other knowledge about Hinduism as she felt pity and compassion for her. In this situation, Amala is our "lost sheep" in Sana's view as she doesn't know anything about her own family and her own importance, but Sana knows. In S1E3, we see this prompt when we were discussing the vision at the hotel room with Sana in the hallway:

The exact next night, the Chauhans take out Sana and arranges her wedding. She got matched for helping our "lost sheep". Her wedding was a plan to basically seperate her from Amala as soon as possible, so that Amala could not get information. That is why they rushed the marriage as soon as possible.

Oh, and Sana figured out their plans, and decides to warn Amala even immediately before her wedding.

On the day of her wedding, her groom Manu was killed by Devdas, as he got to know he touched his secret stash of books being a Shudra (lower caste) (the Doobay fam is a family of psychopaths).

How did he know that?

On S1E6, when Amala was sent downstairs forcefully from her bedroom by Priyanka, she made Sana search her room for the book of Mahanirvana Tantra. Sana knowing the location of book, gave away Amala. Priyanka now knew about the location of the book and handed it over to Devdas later. That is how Devdas got to know Manu touched his books. Now why did Sana give away Amala in this case? She was probably threatened by Priyanka.

On Sana's wedding day, Manu was murdered, making Sana a white widow (💎choice) or a Sati ritual victim (smh research about modern India by Remy.) This drifted Sana away from Amala more. Her main source of info was stopped.

Manu's death was a coincidence, and not a part of Vimal and Priyanka's plan. Devdas is just a psycho.

However, Amrit and Ratan twisted the circumstances to the point Amala eventually found out about her family, as well as her visions about the past. On the other hand, Kiran arrived. Priyanka gave this informative to Vimal as per the deal. When Vimal got to know about Amala's awareness, he finally sought on killing her and exchange Kiran's energy and soul for Priyanka's child. Probably the reason why Priyanka was so excited at the news of his arrival.

So back to point, our Sana is afraid that Kali will punish her for disobeying her masters and she feels like it is her punishment for helping the "lost sheep" that is Amala.

Similarities between Mary Kreiburg and Marie Antoinette

Mary Kreiburg (obviously) shares a number of similarities with Mary, but I wanted to take time to list them, looking at her story in comparison to Marie Antoinette’s.

We know Mary Kreiburg (a relative of Frederick Kreiburg), who’s originally from Austria, marries Manus de Capet, who fell in love at first sight with her. Soon after marrying, she became depressed, supposedly due to a “lack of social venues”.

To make her happy, Manus builds Kreiburg Racecourse for her, which becomes “the hottest social event in town”. Cyanus, aka the “White Steed of Death”, was a gift from Manus to Mary of his love.

Cyanus participates in the races and wins a number of awards. Cyanus’ rider, before each race, invited a “lucky lady”, which was usually Mary, to “pin a flower on it as a victory blessing”.

Unfortunately, according to Ashes of Memory 2 and Mary’s 4th letter, people spread rumors that Mary Kreiburg had a relationship with Cyanus’ (White Steed of Death’s) rider, attached “unnecessary significance to her every action”, and gave her a “malicious nickname just because of her origins and name” (as well as later suggested Manus stole Mary’s dowry, likely referring to Blue Hope).

Mary later dies, with some suggesting she hung herself due to being unable to deal with the pressure from the rumors she had an affair, while others say it was a murder disguised as a suicide.

Marie Antoinette was born in Austria and sent by her mother to marry (future king) Louis XVI of France when she was 14 years old. She was immediately expected to excel at her new role despite being ill-trained as well as immediately expected to consummate her marriage, with her initial attempts at sexual intercourse watched by numerous people (so it’s not surprising these attempts weren’t successful). It didn’t help that Marie and Louis were very different (he was shy while Marie was an extrovert, he liked to read but she didn’t, he was indecisive but she wasn’t, etc…).

Life as part of the French Royal family was also very different from her life in Austria while growing up. Most notable was the utter lack of privacy that came with it (Versailles was the least private place in France, meaning anything that happened, such as the couple not having consummated their marriage yet, was immediately known by everyone), unlike the clear division between public and private spaces only for her family back in Austria. There was also how she was never allowed to be alone or carry out even small personal tasks for herself, the number of official rituals she was expected to carry out or participate in, and the fact aristocrats spent much of their time talking about gossip, political intrigues, and sexual affairs.

Unfortunately, due to her being a newcomer and a foreigner, with everyone’s distrust in her Austrian loyalties, and with the couple’s sexual problems (and how they didn’t immediately consummate the marriage), led to her already being the target of gossip and rumors.

On top of this, it was difficult for her to adjust to the strict protocols and etiquette of the French court, with her finding Versailles lonely and stifling, not to mention how she was unhappy about her marriage (at least initially) as well as with all the politics and monotonous rituals.

Marie’s lavishly spent in her early years in part to compensate for her unhappiness and loneliness (unhappy due to being expected to have a kid with a boy she just met at 14, already having rumors and nicknames, being targeted for being a foreigner, distrust in where she came from, the fact her mother was unhappy at her not consummating the marriage sooner and believing in the rumors about her, and Marie’s lack of love yet for her new husband). She was physically unfulfilled and emotionally distant from her husband, who also was initially wary of her and her ties to Austria. They grew further apart after they ascend the throne after King Louis XV’s death (didn’t help that he was an early bird while she liked to stay up late). Also, in reaction to her dislike at the lack of privacy and her unhappiness, she withdraws into her own inner circle, especially when Louis builds her a private chateau/haven where only those she invited could enter.

She distracted herself by throwing lavish parties for a close circle of friends/acquaintances, which initially included alcohol and gambling (she reformed on at least gambling later). Her favorites included Princess Lamballe, the Polignac family, and Axel Fersen, who she was rumored to have had an affair with (and there may be at least enough evidence to maintain the myth).

It was due to her lavish spending that she earned the nickname “Madame Deficit”, which also essentially included people suggesting her spending was responsible for the national debt.

One of her other nickname was “L’Autrichienne”, which combines the word “Austrian” with “chienne”, the word for a female dog (aka, the nickname meant “Austrian b****”).

Her lifestyle calmed down and she became more frugal later in her life, especially once she did have children (which also helped improve Louis and Marie’s relationship with each other). But despite how she got increasingly better over time, her reputation persisted and she continued to be condemned for her spending on clothes, jewelry, hairpieces, and her favorites. Her reputation as especially damaged by the diamond necklace affair (which is mentioned in Mary’s 1st letter) despite her having played no real part in this incident. More rumors continued to be spread about her, including her being accused of adultery, incest, espionage/manipulate of the king for Austria, that her children weren’t fathered by the king, etc…

This all of course leads to her and Louis’ deaths as everyone knows during the French Revolution.

As for the similarities between Mary Kreiburg and Marie Antoinette:

Austrian origins

From well-known/noble families

Manus de “Capet”, referring to the Capetian dynasty, the ruling family of France, which included Louis XVI, Marie’s husband.

Manus falling in love at first sight with her and them marrying soon after could parallel Marie being wed quickly to Louis.

Becoming depressed soon after marriage. Mary Kreiburg wanting “social venues” could tie to Marie’s loneliness at Versailles and her desire for entertainment/distractions to compensate for her unhappiness.

Love of jewelry/gems

Manus built Mary the Kreiburg Racecourse, while Louis built Marie the Petit Trianon, the chateau Marie sought refuge at most of the time when she was at Versailles.

Mary Kreiburg liked horses and horseriding. Marie also liked horse riding, though due to opposition she was only allowed to ride donkeys. Versailles though did own very many horses in the royal stables

Target of many rumors.

Rumors of affairs. Mary Kreiburg with the rider of Cyanus aka the “White Steed of Death”, and Marie Antoinette with various others, but also specifically with Axel Fersen.

“Blue Hope” likely being based on Hope Diamond, which Marie Antoinette did own, and both gems said to be “cursed”.

Mary died by hanging, either suicide but also could’ve been a murder disguised as a suicide. The latter idea would fit with Marie being sentenced to death and killed by the guillotine during the French Revolutions. Also, maybe just my opinion, but Marie was strong when going to her execution (even apologized to her executioner when she stepped on his foot), so I feel like Mary Kreiburg should be too, so it may more likely be murder? If only to have that parallel of both being killed.

Louis is killed during the French Revolution. Manus de Capet disappears.

No one loves Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman more than America’s elite. In recent years, we’ve seen leaders, investors, and celebrities hold out a Saudi exception to human rights in the service of a blurry concept of national interests that requires the U.S. to constantly compromise its values in service of an autocrat. And so MBS has been welcomed back into the establishment fold, and he won over Washington. And now he’s taking a victory lap.

When Saudi Arabia convened a 2018 summit in Riyadh, businesspeople shielded their name tags from view, sheepish about seeking MBS’s money just days after journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s murder. But the stigma has apparently worn off, and big names in finance, tech, media, and entertainment showed up at the Miami edition of Davos in the Desert.

The entire conceit of the conference is that Saudi Arabia can be abstracted from MBS, who is hardly ever mentioned yet remains the unspoken force behind the events. The host, the Future Investment Initiative Institute, a mouthful, is essentially the crown prince’s personal think tank. Session after session offered platitudes and ruminations on the least controversial ideas ever—AI is going to change the world! Climate is important! Sports bring people together! The two-day gathering was titled “On the Edge of a New Frontier,” itself a sort of redundant name. (Isn’t a frontier an edge?)

Yasir Al-Rumayyan, governor of a major sovereign wealth fund that’s currently under Senate investigation, led the proceedings. The Public Investment Fund that Al-Rumayyan runs is the conference’s founding partner and powers its lavish events. That Al-Rumayyan has $70 billion in annual investments to dole out is enough to draw out financial titans, curious entrepreneurs, and former Trump officials.

Jared Kushner, who had grown a beard, was talking about his theory of investing, without noting that MBS’s sovereign wealth funds had reportedly contributed $2 billion to his Affinity Partners. Steve Mnuchin, who similarly snared $1 billion of Saudi funds for his Liberty Strategic Capital, wore a suit and dress sneakers and talked about Israel as a tech hub. Mike Pompeo, in a tie, said that U.S. leadership in the world requires a “stability model” that involves working with “like-minded nations,” though “they’re not all going to be democracies.” Little wonder he rushed U.S. arms to Saudi Arabia as secretary of state as part of an end run around Congress.

Doing business with Saudi Arabia has become so normalized that the CEOs of major corporations and investment firms showed up in droves. There was Accenture’s Julie Sweet, Blackstone’s Stephen Schwarzman, and Thiel Capital’s Jack Selby. David Rubenstein—the billionaire who has played host to President Joe Biden at his Nantucket estate—spoke alongside his daughter Gabrielle. (This year, the Biden administration didn’t send an emissary, but the deputy commerce secretary, Donald Graves, attended in 2021.)

Journalists have kept a distance from Saudi Arabia after the dismemberment of Washington Post columnist Khashoggi, but in Miami the moderators included CNN’s Bianna Golodryga, Fox’s Maria Bartiromo, Bloomberg’s Manus Cranny, and The Wall Street Journal’s Gerard Baker.

MBS has especially used boldfaced names to rehabilitate his standing post-Khashoggi, his crackdown on women activists, and the destructive Yemen war. In Miami, there was a fireside chat with failed Senate candidate Dr. Oz. “Saudi Arabia is, I think, doing some wise investing and shifting mindsets by trying to leapfrog, in some cases, where the West is,” Oz said.

For Gwyneth Paltrow, it was just another fun public event. She spoke about how Goop had “built meaning” for its fans, in conversation with entrepreneur Moj Mahdara, a former adviser to Hillary Clinton. It was particularly incongruous when Paltrow discussed bringing more women to the cap table to fight the patriarchy.

Rob Lowe had some advice for Riyadh’s efforts to break into Hollywood and create its own film industry. “My view is there’s no reason that Saudi shouldn’t be the leader in IP in the same way they’re attempting to be the leader in sports and everything else,” Lowe said. “You need to have someone who can communicate: Why Saudi, why now.”

For all of the glitzy stage management and slick social media branding, at many moments there were fewer than 50 people watching the livestream on YouTube. But what mattered more were the opinion leaders, financiers, and tycoons in the room.

Big Tech was there, too, with Google’s Caroline Yap and Dell’s Michael Dell. Nothing was quite as obsequious as last year’s gathering in Miami when Adam Neumann, Marc Andreessen, and Ben Horowitz—all beneficiaries of Saudi Arabia’s financial largesse—gushed about how MBS is like a “founder,” except “you call him, ‘His Royal Highness.’”

The blue-haired girl was Fidelza Hunter.

She is a girl who was born with no special powers in this world. (I'll write the history of that world later, please be patient) Since she doesn't have any special powers in a society where it's normal, it's not least that she was bullied by a boy (The orange head in the picture) and Fidelza is the person Manus wants to join his terrorist group.

                Because of being severely bullied and abused by the group leader And the homeroom teacher ignores the problem because she doesn't have special powers after her mother mysteriously disappears by a mysterious organization. Fidelza's mental state "believes" she created an imaginary friend to protect her. "He" brought a gun from the house to the school to use for self-defense. But because "he" believed that Fidelza was in danger.

                Because a child bullied her by pouring wet trash on her head in the locker, "he" used a gun he secretly carried to cause a school shooting. and murdered a total of 4 students and homeroom teachers (3 students and 1 homeroom teacher). He has great special powers. and talent to the point of receiving praise often and was born into a good family with good status and finances (But not as good as Fidelza's aunt) causing the belief that he is "special" than anyone else.

                Lev often displays his power through physical harm. and making loud noises Anyone who refused to heed his orders would be physically harmed. or verbally Fidelza expressed that she was not afraid of Lev, leading him to believe that The girl was looking down on him. So Lev begins gathering people to make Fidelza's middle school life a living hell. Until the girl lost her mind and brought a gun to shoot at a group of Lev's subordinates until they died.

                On the day of the incident, Lev King got into an argument with another boy from another school when he chose to skip morning class because there was a subject he didn't like. Keeping him away from school shootings. And because Lev never allowed himself to be photographed by other students when he abused Fidelza, or there was even no audio clip, he was not punished or found out to be the leader of the bully group as well.

                Lev considers Fidelza to be his "thing," and he won't allow anyone to flirt or talk to her. He only wants Fidelza to be his woman. Every time he saw her talking to someone, whether a man or a woman, he would punch them in the face. or cause bodily harm Because Fidelza must not have any voting rights at all. He is now so angry that Fidelza is in long-distance contact with her boyfriend that Lev has no chance of flying across the country to assault him.

                Lev hates Fidelza's aunt, but because Fidelza's aunt does not have any special powers. But there is both power and more finances than Lev And his family makes him unable to do anything, so he only curses Fidelza's aunt. At the end of the story, he "confesses love" to Fidelza saying, “Because he secretly liked Fidelz so he bullied her.” Fidelza denied this by cursing Lev to death. Because one of the things that Fidelza hates Lev the most is He once told Fidelza to commit suicide in order to be reborn with special powers.
