The video humorously censors some foreign words spoken by non-English speakers due to the words' strange pronunciations. The video also featured an appearance from Ed the Sock. There were various versions of this music video. Additional versions were filmed after the record company suggested the first video would not hold up well to repeated viewing. The videos filmed for an estimated cost of less than $20,000.[5] The Mexican version was directed by Alejandro "Chicle" and edited by Alejandro Davalos Cantu.

i think its a very cute word :3c it's cognate with english 'pussy' but it doesnt have the vulgar connotations in swiss german.

technically same as pussy, but doesn't get used in the same way. closest translation is kitty but lots of people use it to just refer to cats in general in everyday conversation without any connotation

Every time I go to do some writing I see my German textbooks looking at me. They mock me. They look upon my blank word document and sneer. I feel them watching me even as I type this. I may never be free to write smut anymore. Not with Unit 9: Rassismus boring into my skull. Will I ever be free? Not until I've learnt all the forms of articles in all the cases. What even is this life anymore?

On the earlier egg cooking post I reblogged -

Thinking about it more, I feel like I experienced a lot of weird change when I moved with my mom from East Germany to West Germany as a kid. Specifically from a poor household into one where her partner had considerable money.

The poking the egg thing was very much something my mom insisted on, possibly due to her chef background. The egg cups and spoons were a thing too, but that it genuinely just a common German thing all over the country. (No matter if the egg is soft or hard.)

But man, was it weird to have her partner tell us that we were eating the eggs "wrong", since he always cut off the top part completely with a knife, and my mom and I simply hit the top of the egg with the spoon and then peeled the egg open starting on that spot.

Same with the whole egg cooker bit. He suggested we get one and my mom and I were just like ???? pots work just fine ???, so at least on that we got to keep doing what we knew.

After moving out from my stepdad's place a couple years back, I have reverted back to a lot of cooking-related things that I was used to from living in East Germany. Like, I brush off his remaining insistence that I buy certain gadgets (egg cooker, bread slicer) and honestly I couldn't be happier.

I never got comfortable with the high / upper middle class way of life he pressed onto my mom and me - and I'm honestly thankful for it.
