Xelzaz's line on Maormer made me chuckle because... y'know. Yorick. Also been rocking a hood w/ his usual face mask so you can't see shit on his head so he could easily pass for whatever which is fun for situations like this??? idk Anyway!!
Playable Maormer w/o needing mods when (never, I know but shh)
I might be the only person that jokingly threatens people I'm comfortable with but y'know. Never said I was good with people. Said the opposite actually lmao
Also I keep drawing Yorick as super aggro but I think that's just the Nebarra effect because he's a space cadet tbh.
was gonna have Xel and Lucifer say something at the end here but I... forgot what but also not happy with these faces because blah blah argonian hard blah. Same thing I'm always complaining about lmao
Judging
anyway, silly nonsense that's probably funnier in my head but now it's OUT of my head and that's what's really more important tbh. That all of you have to be inflicted with it is a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
#CWart#The Elder Scrolls#Nebarra#Xelzaz#Lucifer Skyrim#sorry the quality of my art keeps degrading. I'm tired but I'm also more tired of trying to hold unto things until I'm not tired.#it's not happening#Think he'd be mostly imperial actually... or breton?... reach men?? idk comparing my ancestry results to tes' kinda confusing shit#it don't matter. I'm culturally German American. Yorick is culturally Bruman Nord. yeehaw.#I"m babbling I need to go to bed it's 4 am

fellow witches and practicers of ancestral veneration—
what are your favorite ways of communicating directly with them? I see people all the time being like “oh my ancestors keep trying to have me get married” etc. but how are they getting that?
I have used a pendulum with one of my ancestors and felt really good about it. I’ve also done tarot which I like but feels a little less direct? I feel like I mostly communicate with the universe through tarot.
Or do you look for signs, etc? Dreamwork?
I think this is the thing that confuses me the most x

Did your family come to Argentina in the 1940s perchance?
No, both my dad's and mom's families migrated here in the second half of the 1800s. What point are you trying to prove?
#not to mention I don't have any german ancestry#and even if i did trying to imply someone's ancestry determines their morals is the kind of xenophobic and racis bullshit#hypocritical gringos go around whining about#dios estos gringos cagones...#argie tag#argieposting#argie posting#argentina

BTW even if you go on about how 'it's not enough to count' or 'I'm just white though' or whatever, it's still weird to bring up the 'cherokee blood' you think you have. Like. Why does it matter that you think you have distant cherokee ancestry if you aren't taking any action to learn about it. I see so many people seemingly recognizing how frustrating it is that so many people claim cherokee ancestry without learning abt it and think that as long as they say 'it's not enough to matter lol' then it's ok when they do it. I see people going 'well my great grandmother was fullblood cherokee but I mean I look white so whatever haha'
It's partially frustrating that it's almost always fake and completely wrong and even claiming it at all is kinda just annoying to see. But also just claiming it without making any effort to learn anything about us, why even mention it at allllll. It's like you think saying 'oh but I'm white' gets you off the hook and means you can claim it without putting any effort in to actually verify and learn abt it
#both of my crew leads at my conservation job claim to be native#one is from kentucky and claims cherokee [of course] and like. even has a fucking tomahawk and peace pipe tattooed on his arm#the other will bring up being native like. if people are talking about ancestry he will say he's 'mostly native'#which apparently comes from his dad who was... part of a group of Cree that moved to fucking georgia ?? hello?#like. idk whatever i guess#but can yall like.. stop treating native ancestry as if its the same as claiming german or scottish ancestry.#people seem to think that everyone surely has Some native ancestry Somewhere#like.... not really.. ? idk#i might delete this later its late and its been a long day#my friend just pointed out that this is a way to claim the ancestry without having to actually put the work in to learn about it#or deal with the consequences at all#like. 'oh i have cherokee ancestry but no im not Actually Claiming It lol so dont expect me to know anything about it at all haha'#makes me wonder what yall think of white or low bq or disconnected natives since yall think being white low bq and or disconnected means#you have no claim to the ancestry hmm.

Im constructing the full non canonical goth family tree including most goths not listed on it and I'm having troubles with Lady Ravendancer Goth. Her relation to the goths is unmentioned (I think) and her race doesn't make sense. The goths are very Germanic white people. (NOT BELLA AND CASSANDRA. JUST MAKING THAT CLEAR.) the names usually are German names as well. Cornelia, Günter, Victor, Mortimer, Gretle, ect. Ect. Ravendancer is not a Germanic name. It also doesn't follow typical naming conventions for the goths. End in a if female, end in r for male. I might make her a wife with no children. Maybe Timaeus Goths second wife? (He also doesn't follow typical goth naming conventions. It kills me because he's canonically related to them.)
The Sims 4 goths don't make sense, racially wise as well, in both iterations. It pisses me off. I would like for them to stick to their cannon appearance. They were originally all white?? Which is wrong, and then they are all Latinx?? Mortimer and Bella are a mixed couple. Their children are both white and Latinx. Also, it's wild that they made Bella white because girlie is canonically 1/4th black 💀. I wouldn't have such a hard time fitting Lady Ravendancer on Bella's family tree, but she's a goth, not a bachelor/(non cannon name) Simopolis.
Also Bella's family is messy as well because Simis is white. Like we all agree on that right? His dad is black, and his mom Is Latina....? And then there's Bella's white ahh Aunt Lily, and Bellas white twin sister Simella. Simella could look more like Simis I guess, but what are the odds that the Bachelor grandparents would have two white children? So what? Is Lily a Simopolis? Jocasta is not white.
Guys the recent Sims spinoffs mess up the races to insane degrees. I love the representation it adds, and I usually don't bat an eye, but trying to piece the genetics together is giving me a headache.
#also i dont think the goth refresh is “adequate representation” because people were asking for them to add the original races back.#they did not do that. they just slapped on a random nonsensical race to a sim with a cannon ancestry and called it a day.#yes the sims series is abundantly white and they need more inclusion but i dont get why they cant add more latinx families instead of making#a long standing germanic sim latinx. i guess i cant speak on it but it seems offensive. i dunno.#also fuck Katrina Caliente. thats going to be a pain to figure out later.#sims#goth family#lady ravendancer goth

I know that you are american. Factually im aware that you're American. But I keep forgetting because for some reason my brain has catagorized you as polish and I dont know why. Are you sure you're not secretly polish? Because I feel like you're polish. At the very least from a country somewhere in europe. Most likely near or around poland.
ANON PLS 😭💀 firstly this is the funniest ask I’ve ever gotten lmao I’m dying to know like what is the Polish vibe I give off? But anyway, I can confirm I’m 100% American 😔 but my mom’s grandparents immigrated from Sweden so there’s that I guess?
#and on my dad’s side I’m swiss German technically but like they came over ages ago so not sure how much that’d rly contribute to the vibes#basically I’m just a white person from the US with European ancestry like ever other white USamerican 🫨#ask#anon

👹Nightmares, Sleep Paralysis, and Folklore👹
💤A Brief Personal Anecdote💤
I have struggled with C-PTSD for about a decade, and while nightmares aren’t new to me at all, sleep paralysis is. I have recently been experiencing episodes of sleep paralysis following nightmares, and I must say, I am not a fan.
The first time I experienced sleep paralysis was a few weeks ago following a terrifying nightmare. I woke up from the dream, physically out of breath and my heart was beating fast. As my eyes struggled to open slowly, I saw a shadowy figure standing next to my bed, staring at me, watching me sleep. I tried to scream out, but no words or sounds would come out. I quickly realized that I couldn’t move my body either (which only made the fear worse!) After a minute or a few minutes (not sure honestly how long it was) I managed to break free and sit up in bed. I realized that the figure that was watching me sleep was actually the shadow of my bookshelf. For a while after waking though, I couldn’t (or wouldn’t?) go back to sleep. I was so scared and confused and kept wondering, “what the hell WAS that?!”
Tonight, I had another episode of sleep paralysis, after a nightmare. Sadly, it seems that this may become a recurring issue for me, as this is probably the 3rd or 4th time in the last few weeks. This time though, when I woke up, I felt someone’s hands around my neck, suffocating me, and a growing pressure on my torso area, while I heard an eerie voice whispering threats to me. It felt SO real, I was completely convinced that there was someone in my room trying to harm me. Again, I tried to make a sound or move, but nothing.
After it passed and I broke free from it, I immediately thought of this painting I was so fascinated by in one of my art history classes during college.
“The Nightmare” by Henry Fuseli (1781)
While the context and interpretation of this painting have mixed thoughts, many have expressed that this painting reflects the unconscious mind during sleep, and the “incubus phenomenon” as it was called before the term sleep paralysis emerged.
👹 But what is an incubus? 👹
TW: sexual assault
An incubus is a mythical [male] demon creature that preys on sleeping women. (There is a female equivalent called a succubus who preys on sleeping men) The incubus terrorizes and sexually assaults its victims as they sleep.
When I was in high school, I was absolutely obsessed with the folklore surrounding incubi and succubi. (There was a manga series I liked back then that was about a teenage succubus who falls in love with a human boy, so that probably had something to do with it.)
Upon waking up and remembering this painting tonight though, I did a little bit more research on the history of sleep paralysis and its association with demonic creatures.
There is a similar elf-like creature in German folklore called an alp, which is known to sit upon the chest of its victim, increasing the pressure on their chest while controlling the victim’s dreams and creating terrible nightmares. The victim generally awakens terrified, breathless, and unable to move under the weight of the creature.
There are actually many cultural variations of the incubus creature too! It is not a European-specific creature! There are examples of similar beliefs all around the world.
💤 Anyway! 💤
I remember being so fascinated by this piece in art history class, and as unpleasant as sleep paralysis is to deal with, remembering this painting helped me feel less alone and less afraid, realizing that people have been experiencing the "incubus phenomenon" for centuries, and finding ways to explain it through folklore and myth.
And honestly it strangely feels like a weird spiritual connection to my German ancestors. The Alp in German folklore seems to have originated in Southern Germany's mountainous regions, which is where my German ancestors are from. It makes me wonder if any of my ancestors ever experienced sleep paralysis like this.
Do any of you experience sleep paralysis?
If so, how do you feel about it knowing that people have been experiencing the same phenomenon for centuries, blaming demonic entities and explaining it away with folklore and mythical creatures?
