Every time I remember an Autobot or Decepticon bitch about being stuck on Earth, Animated and Prime are the most frequent, it makes me laugh thinking how easy they got it. Imagine any iteration ending up on a version that is much more chaotic than the norm. Especially if the dangers are hidden or completely normal to humans.

We got JoJo's Bizarre Adventure where you literally can't trust even a simple POWER OUTLET. From stone masks that could turn people into eldritch vampire, pieces of Jesus Christ could give people powers, and martial arts which either turn the circulatory system into a sunlight generator (Hamon) or using the Golden Ratio to shred even dimensions (Spin).

I'm not forgetting about Stand Users either. Every sentient creature could become a Stand User, someone who can project a psychic manifestation of their fighting spirits that could look like anything with abilities that range from giving positive encouragement to stopping time. That weird individual on the street could dissect Megatron into pieces with fucking zippers through their Stand.

How about Resident Evil where the constant threat is viral infections? I'm not talking about the standard zombie virus either. We got mutant undead creating ones, parasitic worms/insects, to fucking hivemind mold. All guaranteed to least spawn mutants like giant man eating salamanders, evolving fanged blobs and even an eldritch dinosaur.

They have to constantly decontaminate base than just troops as a simple small strain could turn a rat into a dog sized menace. Plus all those zombies guts and blood they have to clean up if an infected did get inside. I'm pretty damn sure humans are no longer the gross squishies compared to that.

Last best addition to add is the 'Kaiju Series' i.e Kaiju No. 8, Godzilla/King Kong Monsterverse, and Pacific Rim. Normal Earth fauna doesn't cause much compared to this as kaiju practically made themselves home here. The bots aren't exactly prepared for megafauna being a constant presence and frequent threat.

Kaiju are territorial so their respective ships will get attacked if spotted too close to the creatures' home. Some may also feed on metal and think either faction are potential food. The humans here could potentially kick their afts like Kaiju No 8's Defense Force or Pacific Rim's Jaeger Pilots.

Never take what you have for granted. In the Autobots and Decepticons cases, that is a normal simple Earth. The other possibilities could be much worse.

So like. Pacific Rim 2013 and Resident Evil. You could swap characters between these medias and they'd get on just fine. Leon and Claire would pilot a Jaeger together. Newt would have the time of his life solving zombie problems in the lab. This is something I think about a lot.

Finished my TP rewatch on netflix. And this time, there's something about that poncho thing in episode 9.

It starts with Snafu tricking Peck into giving him the new, better poncho. And during one of the night assault, as it's raining crazily, Peck takes the poncho off the ammo crate to protect himself from the rain. But that scene ends with Snafu taking said poncho back to guard the new ammo that they nearly died retrieving, forcing Peck to keep the bad one. Then, after, Snafu told Peck to take a fresh poncho off a body and Peck decided not to, saying "This one suits me just fine".

When Hamm died and Peck went off the rail... the first thing Snafu held onto was the poncho left behind by Peck... which is... Snafu's old, beaten poncho from the start. That thing put itself back into Snafu's possession in the worst way possible.

This is the sort of thing that makes me ask questions like, "what if some Precursors/Masters had Lady Dimitrescu's vibe? What if they swooced out of the breach like that? Would they call Newt a man-thing?"

Hi! I love your genetics analysis for the Madrigals! But how is it that all three of Pepa’s children are 100% het for ginger hair, but Antonio and Delores only have a 50% chance of being het for blue eyes? Even if Felix isn’t het for blue himself, shouldn’t their mother having hazel eyes alone be enough to pass down the recessive gene to Delores and Antonio?

Pepa is het for blue eyes, and her brown eye gene is incompletely dominant. That's what reduces the melanin in her iris and causes her eyes to appear green. So she has one brown eye gene and one blue eye gene. This means that she has a 50% chance of passing along the brown eye gene, and a 50% chance of passing along the blue eye gene. Now, the brown eye gene that Dolores and Antonio inherited from Félix could be completely dominant, resulting in brown eyes despite the possibility that they both carry the blue eye trait. Or, as with Camilo, it could be incompletely dominant, but in the case of the other two, paired with Pepa's own brown eye trait. The brown eye gene has a high variance of dominance. And that's before you take possible (but rare) masking genes into account. That's why, even though Dolores and Antonio have brown eyes, they still each have a 50% chance of carrying the blue eye gene. But because they have brown eyes, it is impossible to tell whether they did or did not inherit the blue eye trait until (and only if) they have children with blue eyes.

As for hair color, black tends to be much more strongly dominant than medium brown or European blond. Though in the case of hair color, there are more genes that control expression than there are with eye color. Hence why Dolores and Antonio can both have such dark hair, while Camilo has a more medium brown shade of hair, and all three absolutely still carry the ginger trait.
