being a middle without someone to care for you whether it be a partner/caregiver/older-sibling type can be really hard. online agere is very centered around toddler regression, and i think the assumption is that middle regressors probably don't need a carer. middle regression can be so lonely, especially when it's "impure regression" that comes with things like depression and other mental health issues. when i regress to that age it's like i'm right back at the stage where i first started to realize that i felt bad mentally, and at the same time didn't know what was happening to me.

when i'm middle regressed (like...a lot) i always think about how nice it would be to have someone to watch gaming play-throughs with, to watch scary pg-13s with, to eat junk food but also be reminded to feed myself properly, to go explore forests and playgrounds and abandoned parking lots with, to skate and draw and play with toys that we're "getting a little old for".

and because it's middle regression and i'm not like, a minor, i'd feel more comfortable with that carer being a bit older than me, at least like 25+. idk, it's like an older sibling type comfort that i've daydreamed about for years. when i was 12, i was a lonely single child and i just wished i had a cool older brother to make me feel safe and hang out with me, waste time at the mall, watch stupid videos etc. anyway sad vent post over, eww i have to go to work. >_<

Headcanons:

I actually think Rabbit both regresses and is a cg!!

Very fussy during regression, but not in the sense that he wants to be babied as much as he wants things kept how he left them when he was big. He's very particular about his home, and he will NOT abide by any messes just because he's small!!

If he had a tv he'd be one of those toddlers who screams at the tv like NOOO ELMO THE HAT DOES NOT GO ON YOUR FOOT!!!!

But on that note, he can be very very silly. It's a lot like when he's big - he'll pout and glare about it at first but with the right tricks you can have him giggling and happy

When he starts to have fun, he gets REALLY into it. Think of that episode in New Adventures where he dresses up as a wizard - if he gets too wrapped up in a game he has to be redirected eventually or he'll never get any rest (and neither will his cgs)

Loves picking flowers with his cg and bringing a plushie out to his garden to show off his plants - as long as they bring a blanket so nothing gets dirty 🙃

Gets worked up really easily, especially if he thinks he's made a mistake and starts beating himself up, or if he's especially overwhelmed

Sometimes he just seems especially anxious or grumpy, but you can usually tell he's getting small when he starts stumbling over his words really badly, going quiet, fidgeting a lot, gnawing on his thumb or getting clingy, etc

Sometimes tries to force himself to be big when he really needs to regress - he has to be reminded its okay to be small because he puts to much pressure on himself to keep things in order

He won't usually initiate physical contact, but if he's upset a blanket, a warm drink, and some quiet cuddling can help calm him down

Main cg is Tigger, and sometimes they end up regressing together, though Rabbit is more in the toddler-young kid range whereas Tigger is more of a big brother type

Rajbow headcannons (Including Wayne bc its a package deal, NOT shipping him with them)

•Raj and Wayne have accidentially tripped each other and tumbled down the stairs, Bowie has fallen down the stairs multiple times because of this, Bowie has tried to physically escort them down the stairs and then gave up

•Raj is an age regressor (1-6) 100% (yes there will be agere headcannons in almost every headcannon post I do, especially ships)

•Like Mk, Raj has a stuffed animal that he refuses to sleep without, hes accidentially left it at Bowie’s and couldnt come over for a few days so he was very sleep deprived because of that

(no surprise its the agere anon) for reasons, im also considering: theres a small group of klokateers hired mostly for regression care i.e. the whole band’s regressed, charles has to do paperwork, and the boys are feeling extra energetic

OH YES! HELLO MY DEAR AGERE ANON!

In my Toki Agere HC list, I do have down that there are a very few and select klokateers that take care of the Toki when he is regressed and everyone else is unavailable. If they failed in their mission in protecting and care for Toki, the things that would be done to them in punishment would make MMA look like a party clown.

I also remember reading a Y/N/Reader regression caretaker story on AO3 where you are Toki's newly appointed caretaker for his regression. That was a good fic, very cute. Nathan was extra cuddly in that fic.

Anyway, YES! There is absolutely a group of them that help with the boys. They are all trained and qualified and have been taught about each boys regression and what makes them different from each other and what works for them but not others. I like to think that the Regression Klokateers are both revered by other klokateers by having some of the highest clearance to the band while also pitied because of how stressful the job is. If they fail, it's game over for them. There is no mercy. Charles hand selected these people to care for the boys he he can't and he will make it hell on earth if he finds out that one of them got hurt or was mistreated.

I've always thought of Murderface being very free from caregivers. He doesn't want one and that goes for klokateers too. For the most part, as long as Murderface is within earshot and doing his own thing, the klokateers know to leave him alone. He prefers to be alone. However, Toki wants care all of the time, everywhere. Those klokateers are ready to attend a tea party at a drop of a hat. They will play dress up or play games with Toki on a moments notice. The klokateers are meant for their enjoyment and care.

However, the klokateers also have strict rules to follow from Charles that the boys have to follow, which gives the klokaters the very rare authority over them. For instance, Charles does not want the boys to only eat junk food when they are small, so the klokateers will craft healthy and balanced alternatives, while also giving them the power to take away unhealthy snacks once they've reached their limit. They do have time out power and "grounding" power if a boy is doing something they shouldn't be doing (getting into stuff that only big them should be touching, not following rules, hurting themselves or others.)

The other klokateers ask them in secret what it feels like to "Boss" around the bosses. They always tell them the same answer, "It feels fantastic because it means I can keep my masters safe."

I think the boys are indifferent to being watched by the klokateers as opposed to Charles. But they know that the klokateers are more likely to follow the rules while they can bend them a little with Charles.

Those klokateers are going white by age 25, not because the job is hard, but because the threat level is so high.
