thinking about the myth of Pandora’s box (or jar for the committed and well researched (; ). The girl who was born bearing a curse for all whom she was a gift to. A girl created bearing a vessel that could only ever release suffering, despite there being much more than that inside.

think about pandora, the little girl who couldn’t help but see snippets of what’s yet to come, randomly blinded by visions and prophesies. All of them gruesome. All of them painful. Because she saw the war before it happened. She saw every one of her friends die. She saw every broken promise, every deafening betrayal. And when she opened her mouth to warn, to say anything to protect the ones she loved around her, only gruesome images and inevitable ends could she describe. Cursed to only cause pain to the people she crossed. And of the visions she saw that had hope for change - of the visions she saw that had hope for good - she could not speak. Destined to see the light but never touch it. Destined to understand the light but never share it. Cursed to spread darkness wherever she goes.

And then every prophesy and every traumatic vision she had ever had came true; the snake and skull, green and and ominously luminescent against the innocent night sky; blood as red as roses across the wooden floorboards, as if the dead could read the words that screamed ‘revenge’; green flashes and screams breaking the deafening silence and the illusion of peace; a star drowning in fire, hands like tendrils of smoke and claws like mother’s words, all too familiar; a child, wailing, devoid of the warmth he knew as it left the world, leaving only a scar in the shape of death; and a rat, a thumb, like a gem in the lost moonlight, as the mirth in his eyes was suffocated by the cold, dark walls of Azkaban.

And Pandora thought she could go on. She had found a life in the darkness, a light in the darkness, and that had been enough. She had a daughter. Little Luna. Named after the moon for she saw he had lost his glow. But she couldn’t. She couldn’t go on. Not when every time she looked at her daughter, little Luna twirling in the flowers wearing a colourful fluffy dress, did she see the dungeons under the Malfoy Manor, cuts and dirt stained clothes from struggle; grieving in the courtyard when the only place that could be safe enough to call home because a prison, for the walls that keep evil out can also keep evil in. And any trace of hope, any trace of happiness, she could not speak of. And in that light she knew she could not deny her child a childhood, taint her innocence with the future she might not get. Because pandora knew what it was like to be cursed to see, for ignorance is bliss. And those were her last thoughts as she chose death, hoping that when she met with her friends in the afterlife, she would finally be able to speak of hope.

The swing set scene where Seok-Ryu told Seung-Hyo about Hyeon-Jun's proposal was wonderfully done.

Seung-Hyo's disheartenment is so palpable in this scene. As far as he knew, they had a good breakfast with Seok-Ryu, things were going well and her ex was being an annoying pest but nothing significant. Then out of nowhere he becomes someone Seok-Ryu's sincerely considering of going back to. Someone who proposed her and she finds herself relying on.

“Even though I am here?

You can’t lean on me?”

The vulnerability with which he asks her these questions already fearing the answer but also keeping hope incase they turned out to be something else. The shakiness and the desperation in his voice that he was trying to control. He knows that the decision will be Seok-Ryu's, knows that even if she doesn't choose him, he would still be part of her life because a life without her is not worth imagining but still keeping hope that she might have misspoken. That she didn't mean what she said.
