Heh. Since the last post, I've changed my computer, then my monitor, then my modem... I've drawn little, and mostly for work (we won't show anything from work yet, but it will be cool). But it's all good, we're alive and well. If anyone wants to print this buddy and hang it on the wall, let's say, you can find it here for a little money in high resolution. Not directly monster related, but what do you think of pirates and cowboys? I love them and would kill for werewolf pirates and werewolf cowboys

pirates, cowboys, priests, men with long hair: these are all monsters to me(in a sexy way). also, a werewolf cowboy would fuck like crazy. big wolf sweaty and shirtless from a long day's work looking at you like a cool drink of water, calling you Darlin and also he has gentle eyes and you know he's kind because animals love him and he's so sweet with the cows and horses he takes care of. Danny meanwhile has gone feral mode and is running around flipping furniture trying to get away from the ‘probably ghost monsters’ and ends up hiding in an air vent until the Aliens lure him out with food

They have nothing to translate each other’s languages so they communicate with tones, expressions and body language until they can teach Danny Common (a language taught in all schools so This doesn’t happen)

Now danny has alien friends and together they have to journey to Earth to get him home!!

What adventures will they have??? What cultural differences will we encounter?????? The silly misunderstandings?????? What’s the crew like?? Are they space pirates??? Outlaws?? Otherwise on the run from the Space Feds?????

I think sometimes the trick to fantasy races is to not think about em too literally. It's not "what if race science was real," it's more like "what if our myths, dreams, and imaginations were reflected in the material world?" or "What if we gave our ideas and social structures physical shape?"

What is a dragon? A symbol of nature, to be tamed or destroyed? A symbol of imperialism, of greed and destruction? A symbol of divinity, of a mysterious higher power? Or just a beast like any other? It depends on the story, and on the way you choose to interpret it. Like all fiction, it's an exercise in subjectivity.

Maybe one writer's orcs are a racist caricature, but another writer's orcs might be an expression of their own self-image, and yet another's might be a reflection of their experiences as an Othered person. Orcs and other fantasy races don't inherently mean anything in particular, each story ascribes its own meaning to them, and it's up to you to try to determine what the story is trying to say.

I just think broad strokes condemnations of things like fantasy races or dragon taxonomy as if there are objective facts about them is kind of missing the point of like, fiction in general.

how do you think cybertronians would react to us popping our joints? I'd imagine that their body's make noise but I don't imagine hear the Crack or snap that our body's make would be comfortable for them knowing how "squishy" our body's are and to be reminded we're hard inside as well. I'd imagine they'd find it weird we pay people for extreme versions of this to aid in aches or great discomfort some people feel.

Ok so either they know humans have skeletons before the children or after. If they found out after it would be realized after ones of the kinds mentioned breaking a bone to which they ask what’s that.

As for the popping of joints I can imagine Miko either rough housing with bulkhead or one of the bots catching a kid who almost fell by the leg to hear a loud and deafening pop.
