oh hot take for people to ignore bc its not that deep, ship what you want, but merthur physically cannot have a third. i think that's literally impossible. they're so inextricably bound to one another that it's always going to be MERTHUR and that person...i guess. like. merlin and arthur are always going to chose one another above everything. i just. don't think being their third would be fun. unless you just wanna watch. i guess.

A character looks straight into the camera and says "I'm not interested in romance" and people will still say "No, it's not confirmed they're aromantic!!!" "They could change their mind!!!" "it's a challenge for them to overcome!!!" "They'll have character development that makes them fall in love"
It's like they are given the most blatant answer to a character romantic orientation and they actively ignore it. all the while all it takes is subtext for people to speak as if it is fact for a character to be any other sexuality.

People will understand Alicent’s fear of Rhaenyra for demanding Aemond be “sharply questioned” but forget the ten years of context in which Rhaenyra had to fend for her children against Alicent’s dangerous threats/attacks + how—in one fell swoop—Harwin is murdered, Otto is promoted, and Larys becomes Lord prior to this event…
Oh, but Rhaenyra grasping the opportunity at Driftmark to make Alicent stand down once is “proof” that she is wantonly dangerous?? Please, Rhaenyra was backed into a corner for the majority of S1 and had more substantial reasons to be fearful of Alicent.
Unlike Alicent, Rhaenyra has ten years of definitive proof that Alicent does not care about directly endangering her or her children. Alicent, on the other hand, founds her fears on one lie.

Honestly the sheer amount of gay subtext between Dick and Jason in Gotham Knights is like,, literally insane. It's impossible to ignore??
"Oh but they're brothers-" not in this game they're not! Talia refers to Jason as "Your friend Jason" when you confront Talia if you play as anyone who isn't Jason. No one corrects her either; not Barbara, Tim, OR Dick. They just get mad at her over her insisting they be glad she brought Jason back even though she took away his autonomy (Dick especially is PISSED- protective boyfriend much? Lol). Talia herself just says he's their 'friend', not brother. And I don't recall a single time any of them refer to each other as siblings in any form.
Yes they call themselves a family in the game, but it's pretty clearly in a found family way. I'd honestly compare it to the Titans, since they're a found family too, and also a team (and the batfamily works much like a team here). Plus, Barbara is part of it too, and she dated Dick in the past lol. So the batfamily very much is NOT a nuclear family in Gotham Knights, as well as the comics (though DC keeps trying to push it that way...).
Anyways there's just. So much gay subtext between Dick and Jason, and it's so obvious it's damn near just text. Their personal stories are pretty tied up in each other, especially Dicks focusing quite a bit on Jason. Their interactions and how they act around each other also hint at something more going on, little things like constantly being paired together or being physically close more often than not, to interactions being just straight up flirting:
The rooftop scene, implications of Jason looking at Dicks ass??, Dick mentioning the Belfry needs a cat and Jason taking the chance to tease and flirt with him and this audibly flusters Dick; Dick consistently calling Jason things like big guy, swole, tiger, etc; the suggestive implications when you play multi-player with Dick and Jason during the labyrinth mission that Dick "took [Jason] to Hogans Alley, and..." and Jason cutting him off with a "Okay, it's you! Fine. We don't talk about that night." (Note that Dick sounds shy and he trails off and gets quiet while talking, while Jason is very embarrassed at the memory Dick mentions)
...honestly, I could go on and on about it. Pretty much none of this feels at all platonic, it feels more pre-relationship than anything.
I just,, God it's so overtly gay?? There's no other explanation. And I'm looking at it from a very objective perspective, no shipper lenses here.
Anyways jaydick is pretty much canon in Gotham Knights and that's incredible to me

Damian was 10 when he was shipped off to his father.
He was 10 when he finally decided enough was enough, packed his stuff, called Mara, and the ball went rolling.
The moment Talia left the mansion, the DNA test confirmed, and Bruce emotionally compromised, did he finally move.
He'd stared his father down, felt nothing when he stood up and mild annoyance bloomed when his father asked– demanded– where he was going.
"You're a fool if you believe I will stay here." He spat, eyening the man in disdain.
It became very apparent that Damian wasn't what Bruce thought he'd be, what Talia thought he was.
"Your mother entrusted me with your safety–"
"I don't need protection. Mother wouldn't care if I stayed or not." He blinks. "Where is the cave? I wish to use the computer, I have people to contact."
Reluctantly, Bruce shows him the way, questions of who and why, and the plans he apparently had were asked.
Damian answers with vague wordings and enough open spaces for interpretation. Words greatest detective, he can figure it out himself without damian spelling it out for him.
When they do arrive in the batcave, Tim Drake— Robin— was sitting at the computer.
Huffing, Damian shoved the entire chair away from the table, taking its place and started typing.
"W— hey! What—? Who?" Tim looked between Bruce and Damian, despite being sleep deprived his eyes caught on the similarities, mouth dry and mind calculating.
"Does Dick know?" Is all he asks, leaning back and watching the younger boy work.
"Not yet."
A heavy sigh.
"Silence," the boy huffs, annoyed. "I'll have to make a call."
Glaring daggers, he pulls out a old burner phone, pressing the single number saved inside and waits.
"Damian."
"Hello, brother."
('Oh. Did he have another?' Tim wonders, watching Batman's face, blank like a paper sheet. Nothing. It feels like all his efforts of bringing the man back were just flushed.)
Or in simpler words:
Danyal al Ghul, the first successor of the demons head, born with his twin Athanasia al Ghul, to be the future of the league.
They were reborn with their former memories, stuck in place, constantly watched and trained. Manipulated. Weaponized.
All for a man playing immortal.
They'd only started planning when two more children came into the picture, Damian and Mara Al Ghul.
Danyal now Daniel "Danny" and Athanasia now Eleanor "Ellie" Nightingale took matters into their own hands and separated to take the kids in and end this.
End the league. End the cycle of whatever this, this cult is, and take over.
In many universes, Ra's al Ghul does not die, always returns, wielding his people like mere weapons.
In this universe, Danyal al Ghul is acknowledged as a traitor, killer of the Demons head and Older Brother, borderline father even, to his tiny brother Damian al Ghul.
In this universe, he raises Damian instead of Talia, shows him the cracks of this careful manipulated picture and listens when Ellie tells of her travels to this tiny child with a sad sad fate.
In this universe, Ellie takes in their tiny cousin, shielding her from the cruel eyes of a man not worthy. She trains her, shows her the ropes and takes her along when she leaves.
In this universe, Damian al Ghul and Mara al Ghul live a good live, protected by the twins of old souls and have a somewhat normal if not very complicated childhood.

jason isnt even angry at bruce for the way that he died, hes mad at bruce for everything after his death. so saying that jason's anger at bruce is misdirected anger at sheila is just wrong on so many fronts. because first of all-jason was never mad at sheila. yes she sold him out to the joker and got him and herself killed and jason knows that and tried to save her anyway. i think hes aware of where the blame falls but that again leads into the second thing wrong with saying that. jason is not mad about the circumstances of his death-hes mad at the lack of change his death caused. because if bruce had died, jason would've done whatever he could to avenge that. that's a part of jason's love language. so to have bruce basically do nothing and let joker continue to hurt others grates on jason. im not even mentioning the massive victim blaming that bruce does as well. but its the aftermath that jason has a problem with not the before.
so no, jason's anger towards bruce is NOT misdirected anger at sheila. again because jason's anger has nothing to do with the circumstances around his death but everything following it. which sheila had no part in due to y'know. also being dead.

as a leftist, it's odd to me when leftists criticize dems but not republicans because critizing dems (on things they 100% should be criticized for, don't get me wrong) and then ignoring the gop when they do the same thing but worse is just baffling. like yes, we should talk about how obama normalized drone strikes but the fact that trump tripled drone strikes and also rolled back a policy that required us intelligence to publish the number of deaths caused by drone strikes should also be in the conversation. yes, the democrats should have codified roe v wade, but the republicans are the ones who overturned it in the first place. yes, while the aca is great, the dems should still to more to guarantee healthcare and decrease healthcare costs, but republicans are actively trying to repeal the aca, medicare, and medicaid.

people pointing to one heart as proof s/k is canon is sooooo funny when it seems to be a light only attack
bc like
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
its been stated consistently throughout the series that you cant just have light. light and dark need to be in balance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
like they literally say 'light!' as the attack starts.
that doesnt seem very balanced to me.
but you know what team attack is?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
also, i feel like it being called one heart points even further to it being another s/k red herring.
like, compare that to hearts in tune
love is not being one with someone, or someone else 'completing' you. love is just being with someone. by their side.
and theres also the fact that the attack literally cannot function without the two of them together. they need both wings to fly. whereas the two halves of the combined keyblade can be used on their own
or at least i think they can, anyway. in nightmares end/mirage split we see them used individually to cut the chains before they merge:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
plus all the emphasis on the nobodies/replicas/etc being their own people, and growing their own hearts. even tho they were 'content' with being merged with their og selves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
idk, maybe im reading too much into the name. maybe its not that deep. but it still seems kinda weird, with all the emphasis post-kh2 on everyone having their own identities
