I’m fascinated about the oc stuff you mentioned! I only recently (within the last year) started creating oc’s so I’ve not really thought about creating images of them. I pretty much just save stock photos and photos of celebrities that resemble what I’m imagining, but that can be a pain. I’d love to hear more tips (as well as hearing about some of your oc’s if you’d like to share!)

If you're interested, I have a ton of picrew links I can share (and obviously I can give you ones with more specific aesthetics if you have something in mind, versus just dumping a truckload of random links on you).

I also really like using Heroforge (D&D Minifugre website) to make ocs (D&D related or not). They update pretty regularly so there's always better options (especially for non-human ocs) and colors for more specific customizations. It's especially cool because if you decide you really like it, you can buy your oc as a minifigure (but you can still use the site/save your oc even without buying anything)! I love free websites :3

Lately, I've been focusing on my batch of Minecraft ocs. I was supposed to join a big rp server, but that fell apart so now I'm just 'writing' it all myself. It's been really fun, and I like being able to build an intricate story and characters from a pre-set template that comes with making ocs within a pre-existing world/ruleset (It's just much easier on my busy brain for when I'm not working on my actual original writing or whatever XP). But because of this, I've also been making full Minecraft skins for those ocs. It's pretty much just pixel art, and I am nowhere near the levels of some of the proffesional skin-makers out there, but I've made some pretty cool stuff if I do say so myself!

TL;DR I am not good at art, but my imagination is very hyperactive, so having some of these online resources has helped a ton in just getting something out into the world. I am more than happy to share site links and answer any questions you have about navigating them if you wanna dm me! I'd also loove to talk about all my ocs more, but I know that can be a lot for a tumblr ask…especially if tumblr keeps eating them >:(

Yes, even if you're neurodivergent. I don't have ADHD, but it is allegedly a thing with ADHD as well. And I am autistic, and after a bunch of nerve damage (severe enough that I was basically housebound for 6 months), I had to completely rebuild my ability to get my brain to Do Things from what felt like nearly scratch.

This is specifically from ADDitude magazine, so written specifically for ADHD (and while focused in large part on kids, also definitely includes adults and adult activities):

Resources on this aren't great because they're mainly aimed at neurotypical therapists or parents of neurdivergent children. There's worksheets you can do that help a lot too or thought work you can do to sort of build the neuro-infrastructure for tasks.

But a lot of the stuff is just like. fun. Pulling from both the first article and my own experience:

Play games or video games where you have to make a lot of decisions. Literally go make a ton of picrews or do online dress-up dolls if you like. It helped me.

Art, especially forms of art that require patience, planning ahead, or in contrast improvisation

Listening to longform storytelling without visuals, e.g. just listening regularly to audiobooks or narrative podcasts, etc.

Meditation

Martial arts

Sports in general

Board games like chess or Catan (I actually found a big list of what board games are good for building what executive functioning skills here)

If you're bad at time management play games or video games with a bunch of timers

So I made the Stardew OC, Lapis, in a witchy picrew. Because my brain is on this fun little challenge of mine where I let y'all dictate her "path" if you will, I'mma drop some lore about her.

this is while i debate making a sideblog for her to separate this shenanigans from the selfship shenanigans lolol

Lapis has been known (before she moved in) as Grandpa's "eccentric grandchild" due to her being a witch.

When she does move onto the farm, she clears everything out "the old fashioned way", but she does use a little magic to help some of the plants and trees flourish. She has a couple of crystals and other things around the farm to give it her personal touch.

She absolutely loves shipping fruits and also loves cooking. All of her recipes are her own, though she never refuses to try out any recipes shared with her.

She's very shy at first, but opens up when she gets used to being around people. She was often in her room either reading or practicing her magic before she moved to Stardew Valley.

She hangs out at Rasmodius' tower after he kind of takes her under his wing. She sees him as something of a mentor.

Her loved gifts are: ancient doll, strange doll, prismatic shard, fairy stone, star shard, pink cake, spaghetti, and fairy rose. Her hated gifts is still in development.

She likes being friends with everyone and she might like a certain someone (poll results) more...

I love when I find picrews to fuel my own AUs (random blurb below the cut)

Now my OCs are kissing. Cain ofc is bratty asf, Damian is being himself. (what's the fun part is that they're both fankids but Damian is Lucifer's kid with one of my other OC's) Their ship is that Damian is older than Cain by a couple centuries give or take. But they don't really cross each other's paths at all until Cain's anniversary of becoming the ruler of Hell. (to make things easier he's like 20ish in human years and Damian is in his later 20s)

What brings them together is Damian's "rudeness" of not knowing who Cain is he's only heard of him and never knew what he looked like. Plus Damian goes back and forth from Hell and Earth periodically so he's not really up to date with many things.

While Cain is Hellborn naturally by two devil parents, Damian is mixed, Angel/Dragon/Human (his mother is half dragon and one of the last female dragon's that lived in Gamigin's prior realm! It's a long story I think I already talked about it before? Maybe? Perhaps later) Also Despite Damian being the older one, he's quite immature at times and likes to tease Cain who's pretty much similar to Leviathan in mannerisms based on "formality" but as his walls break down, he's more relaxed.

The colors are close enough though not entirely accurate to their design, especially for Cain's hair which is Leviathan's hair color if I remember correctly is like a dirty blonde? All all they had was the golden blonde 😭 so ig he gets this color which is closer to an off white/Satan's hair (the tips of his horns are red, so these horns work)

His style of dress again, is reminiscent of Hades since that's where he grew up majority of the time, but what's not seen in the photo is that he wears the same boots Satan gave him when he first started walking (they grow with him based on magic and they're resistant to all types of daily and heavy duty wear)

I also had him facing toward Damian because there was no option to add his third eye.

Damian here looks pretty spot on to how I designed him, only difference is his vitiligo isn't showing because there was no option for it and the scar that's on his eyebrow goes all the way down through his eye. Unlike his father Lucifer who very serious and doesn't react as much, he's the complete opposite very affectionate, though can be a bit of a pain in the butt. However, his voice is monotone, very chill (think of those asmr folks) and doesn't seem to match his facial expressions so he sounds condescending which isn't entirely his fault lol

Lucifer swears that it's as if the universe took the best parts of himself and his mother and threw it into Damian. ANYWAYS that's me and my random blurb for today. What's one thing you want in a picrew? ah! well, since i often start them i have a list of things that i usually look for to make sure that they're inclusive. sometimes i forget to check for certain things and then i'm annoyed lmao.

but ideally: big selection of skin tones, undercuts, the option for tied hair, short haircuts, different types of hair textures and colors, facial hair, scars, and big big ups if there's an option to change face shapes! THIS IS SERIOUS BUSINESS!

Favourite thing you’ve created (or seen created) for the fandom? oh this is hard. i'll say, fluffy art: "doesn't matter where we go man", spicy art: "i need you to touch me"

Why is it your favourite? fluffy: because i went crazy with the details. i love that it tells a story. i love the colors i used. i love that pane of them watching the sunset. i love hands - hand on thigh, hand kiss, hand under shirt.

spicy: so. much. skin. i love all the positions i put them in. i love how it's sensual and teasing but you can't really see any of the "action" haha. tongues and chain and bruising. i love hands - hand in mouth, hand on neck, hand in hair.

Did it come easily or was it hard to create? HARD! lmao everything i make is hard to me. some things come easier now, but i really do drag my limp body all the way to the end.

I just had the most mind blowing realisation, I can literally just make my own site for everything. If I don't like, or find the formatting of popular sites too restrictive, I can literally just make my own (better) version.

Like Picrew for example. It's cool that they've made it easier for people to make their own dress up style games, but I've had problems trying to work with it. The biggest being the parts/image limit, and the particular naming convention. But I can write html+css now, I can just make my own image maker, without any of these restrictions.

And since the current picrew system doesn't allow for any text (unless you put it as an image, which is meh), it meant I had to make a separate doc listing everything. But if I make my own site, I can just add labels to everything, I don't need 2 separate pages.

I wonder how many months it'll take me to complete this lol.

I've been working on this character for a few months now and I'm happy with how she turned out. It was a lengthy process of trying to make her look the way I wanted her to and part of that was changing aspects of her design and allowing my friends to help and support me. At one point one of my friends told me the drawing was too stiff and ordered me to doodle ugly things until I felt confident enough to break out of my comfort zone, and that really helped Webtoon feel more personalized I think

To be honest, Socialstuck has pulled me out of my artist's block. For the longest time I had no motivation to draw anything at all because I wasn't confident enough in my abilities and art style to even try. I'm still not good at drawing poses, and even now this drawing is an imitation of Cloutchase's art style. However, the simplicity of that art style inspired me to draw, and suddenly I found myself creating more and more drafts. Whether those drafts will ever be completed is up to the future, but it's a big step for me to finally try again

This piece may be in Cloutchase's art style, but it's also got a little bit of me in it as well, and I'm more than happy to contribute to a fun community of people making stuff together by adding my own OC into the mix

Funny addition: At the bottom of my Webtoon notes is a small section of past-me complaining about how hard it was to draw with my dog staring at me. I got peer-pressured by my dog XD

(it’s mah selfsona! With all my traits .w., dream me basically put in the movie I’d die to be in, SORRY FOR LONG POST I’ve been making this up since I just watched all the Tcm flims and wanted to decide which one to add him to)

so he’s obviously gonna be my height and age(4’9 and 18) but theres a few other details imma add, he’s gonna have dyed blond hair with hints of (my natural hair color)brown (couldnt add it to the picrew Wahh), dark hazel green eyes(like me)and pale vampireish skin cause he isn’t good at tanning(burns easily like me yeowch), he is transgender (like me/FTM!)he’s got my aesthetic(grunge/alt) but leaning more towards what they wear in the flim (not doing the 1978 one cuz I’d go to nuts over bubba,I’m doing the reboot 2007 one cause why not it’s kinda easier LOL)he’s also prob the only character in his group who’s more prone to being curious and nosy, often wandering off(collar is a leash his freinds MADE him wear so he wouldn’t wander off ,headphones are connected to a old walkman that plays 80’s/90’s/70’s rock or metal so he’s distracted and doesn’t bother the group(LIKE MEE)but I like to head canon if he ever encountered Leatherface he’d take a picture and ask to hold the chainsaw LOL, also since I love German accents..he has one xD(cuz I’m learning German why not), his group will be the main cast so he’s kinda like a add in

Bonus points:he’s in Texas to take pictures of the ghost town and continue his story about Leatherface and such, just like the girl hunting him down(later on I just know some girl got a grudge bout hm), but more like a morbid curiousity to learn and study him to be a reporter for the news to blab about killers <3 cuz like me he likes crime , mystery and criminals, …especially ones with a taste of cannibalism ;] reason why he has bandages as he often is clumsy and gets hurt first since he’s smaller and more child built

DMC OC Lily's adopted dads headcanons/lore PART ONE:

Got this from Dolldivine, not picrew, whilst searching for a gay couple picrew lol. Artist credit: (at the top of the image but still @Shidabeeda on dolldivine). Mandrake is on the left, Inferno/Farin is on the right. Here are the headcanons: -Lily's papa's name is Mandrake. Even in human form, he never bothered to change his name like his husband, Inferno, did. Inferno changed his name to Farin in his human form. -Mandrake and Farin are of a draconic demon species that were often used in the Underworld, if captured, as heavy labour slaves. Their forms resemble that of dragons. Farin's draconic demon form has cracks in it that glow a golden colour and Mandrake's demon form has cracks that shift colours from red to pink to purple. -Mandrake has spent a long time out of the Underworld to the point he had two jobs, which he doesn't do anymore but still tends to use the skills he got. The two jobs were a doctor and a scientist in robotics and prosthetics (which allowed him to help Lily heal from her injuries that she'd received on Fortuna as an 'experiment'.) -Farin had a job as a botanist for years after leaving the Underworld. He loves working with plants, though it became more of a hobby as he joined his husband in devil hunting. He makes potions with some of the herbs and gives some rare, Underworld-borne plants to Lily's witch girlfriend for her own potions. -Farin's nickname for Lily is 'Princess', which she pretends to hate because of how tomboyish she grows up, but she secretly loves being spoiled and called it because she loves her dad a lot. -Farin likes to see himself as the fun dad and he'd often take their small family out to trips to the beach, camping, to the park, etc. -Mandrake is the more strict father. Though Lily's behaviour was never too terrible, she has the typical Sparda-bloodline anger issues so occasionally, he would be the one to set her straight. A lot of the time, the only thing he has to do to make her behave is to give her that 'dad' glare. Most of you know the one, right? The absolute 'do not push it' glare that makes you stop and think about how you wanna go about stuff. Anyway, even though he's seen as more 'strict', he's actually a very quiet man. Mandrake and Farin went through a lot of shit and torture from Mundus, and though Farin has recovered mostly, Mandrake still finds it difficult to communicate with others. -Mandrake's quiet personality is what drew Lily to open up to him about the experiments and torture she went through from The Order. The first time she opened up to Mandrake (as I stated in Sydney's headcanons) was when he sat her down to braid her hair before bed one night. Her curls can be hard to deal with in the morning, so he tended to braid her hair so that it wasn't all knotted in the morning. Because of the peacefulness they both felt when they sat down and did this, it became a common routine, and eventually, he even opened up to Lily about his own experiences and it deepened their bond. -Farin is the older of the two. He feels fiercely protective of his family. -It takes A LOT to piss Farin off. He will smile in the face of many insults to himself, but if you put your hands on his family with bad intent? You better hope Mandrake holds him back or you'll face immediate assimilation. Ashes will be all that's left. -Mandrake is easier to piss off, but he does not react like Farin does. He would rather plot something than jump into violence as quick as his husband does. -Mandrake's nickname for Lily is 'dragon'. It may seem a bit simple or on the nose considering his and his husband's demon species, but it feels very personal to both him and Lily. It shows that he whole-heartedly accepts Lily as his child, adopted or not. Gonna end it here as this list was longer than intended! I'll post part two right after this!

I’ve had these doodles for a while now, I actually did them when I was coming up with each character and their personality. Having actual images to glance at every now and then makes it easier to keep them in character, since they feel more real and fleshed out when there’s a face to go with the name. Hopefully that makes sense?? Maybe I’m just bizarre.

I’m an artist first and a writer second, so drawing is actually more in my wheelhouse lol. It’s a little funny to think about how much effort I’ve put into this fic considering writing is only a hobby. I should be putting this energy into school… >_>

I don't have much on him, literally ranges from a six month old bubbling baby to a Lil kid (I'm talking like 6 yrs max) and then vague visions of him being a preteen running around postwick and getting the family jacket (Hop's jacket) that's prolly been patched and sewn and repaired to distortion and back

Hop and Fio prolly don't have him till their like.. 25?? (which imo still fairly young) but I do think the pokemon world is. marginally better than our world so. it's relatively easier to have a kid. Besides they've both got a massive support system especially with the "study" of how offsprings of chosens behave/are like.

Uhhhh maybe I'll make some picrews and make on my post on how I see him lol
