I’m fascinated about the oc stuff you mentioned! I only recently (within the last year) started creating oc’s so I’ve not really thought about creating images of them. I pretty much just save stock photos and photos of celebrities that resemble what I’m imagining, but that can be a pain. I’d love to hear more tips (as well as hearing about some of your oc’s if you’d like to share!)

If you're interested, I have a ton of picrew links I can share (and obviously I can give you ones with more specific aesthetics if you have something in mind, versus just dumping a truckload of random links on you).

I also really like using Heroforge (D&D Minifugre website) to make ocs (D&D related or not). They update pretty regularly so there's always better options (especially for non-human ocs) and colors for more specific customizations. It's especially cool because if you decide you really like it, you can buy your oc as a minifigure (but you can still use the site/save your oc even without buying anything)! I love free websites :3

Lately, I've been focusing on my batch of Minecraft ocs. I was supposed to join a big rp server, but that fell apart so now I'm just 'writing' it all myself. It's been really fun, and I like being able to build an intricate story and characters from a pre-set template that comes with making ocs within a pre-existing world/ruleset (It's just much easier on my busy brain for when I'm not working on my actual original writing or whatever XP). But because of this, I've also been making full Minecraft skins for those ocs. It's pretty much just pixel art, and I am nowhere near the levels of some of the proffesional skin-makers out there, but I've made some pretty cool stuff if I do say so myself!

TL;DR I am not good at art, but my imagination is very hyperactive, so having some of these online resources has helped a ton in just getting something out into the world. I am more than happy to share site links and answer any questions you have about navigating them if you wanna dm me! I'd also loove to talk about all my ocs more, but I know that can be a lot for a tumblr ask…especially if tumblr keeps eating them >:(

Yes, even if you're neurodivergent. I don't have ADHD, but it is allegedly a thing with ADHD as well. And I am autistic, and after a bunch of nerve damage (severe enough that I was basically housebound for 6 months), I had to completely rebuild my ability to get my brain to Do Things from what felt like nearly scratch.

This is specifically from ADDitude magazine, so written specifically for ADHD (and while focused in large part on kids, also definitely includes adults and adult activities):

Resources on this aren't great because they're mainly aimed at neurotypical therapists or parents of neurdivergent children. There's worksheets you can do that help a lot too or thought work you can do to sort of build the neuro-infrastructure for tasks.

Kasuar: KSAR - Koordinator für Statistische Analysen Replikant

(Cassowary: Statistical Analytics Coordinator Replikant.)

In the wake of the Eusan Nation's prioritization of bioresonant and replikant technology, most other avenues of technology remained underutilized and far less advanced. Computerization for mass calculations is no exception. Anything from convenient spreadsheets to finding the perfect trajectory to launch an interstellar vessel would require hundreds of trained professionals to handle.

Enter the KSAR. This replikant is the number crunching workhorse of the Eusan Nation. Their jobs are self explanatory, much like ARARs handle the mechanical technology of most facilities, KSARs handle the long form computing manpower, each with the efficiency of multiple gestalts that would have needed years of training. They are the backbone of the Eusan Nation's computerization power that work around the clock to ensure that all computerized technology runs smoothly.

Due to the lack of need for any physical prowess, KSARs are designed cost-efficiencently, with a generally slim and short stature at 167cm as physical labor is not in their requirements. This does make them compact to the point where they are easier to decommission and replace instead of fix if particularly damaged.

KSARs' personalities are as calculative as their tasks, rarely having any strong feelings about anything other than completing a task, it is recommended that KSARs have a mandatory leisure time of at least one hour per day outside of sleep and eat or they will continue to work to the point of damaging themselves, this is also important as overexertion often leads to early signs of persona degradation.

Aside from this, KSARs are particularly easy to maintain as they scarecely deviate from expected behaviors and can easily be trusted to work efficiently unsupervised, in fact interrupting their workflow can cause them to become irrationally frustrated. It is recommended to ignore any attempts to argue from them and deactivate their workstation at scheduled times. KSAR persona degradation is particularly rare as so long as they remain in their dedicated work environment, they will not speak to anyone beyond what is necessary for their job, nor will they experience any stimuli which would create degradation. This coupled with their carefree nature and lack of personal ego makes them a highly stable neural template.

Below is classified information.

The neural template for the KSAR is Jeanne Hohl, a respected mathematician that made major contributions to many of the Eusan Nation's projects, singlehandedly making several possible. In order to cover her existence, several of these accomplishments were attributed to her colleagues in order to still allow the scientific community to benefit from her work. This does however mean that her legacy is dead, no longer belonging to her, but instead serving the interests of the glorious Eusan Nation. Jeanne pictured below.

I just had the most mind blowing realisation, I can literally just make my own site for everything. If I don't like, or find the formatting of popular sites too restrictive, I can literally just make my own (better) version.

Like Picrew for example. It's cool that they've made it easier for people to make their own dress up style games, but I've had problems trying to work with it. The biggest being the parts/image limit, and the particular naming convention. But I can write html+css now, I can just make my own image maker, without any of these restrictions.

And since the current picrew system doesn't allow for any text (unless you put it as an image, which is meh), it meant I had to make a separate doc listing everything. But if I make my own site, I can just add labels to everything, I don't need 2 separate pages.

I wonder how many months it'll take me to complete this lol.

I've been working on this character for a few months now and I'm happy with how she turned out. It was a lengthy process of trying to make her look the way I wanted her to and part of that was changing aspects of her design and allowing my friends to help and support me. At one point one of my friends told me the drawing was too stiff and ordered me to doodle ugly things until I felt confident enough to break out of my comfort zone, and that really helped Webtoon feel more personalized I think

To be honest, Socialstuck has pulled me out of my artist's block. For the longest time I had no motivation to draw anything at all because I wasn't confident enough in my abilities and art style to even try. I'm still not good at drawing poses, and even now this drawing is an imitation of Cloutchase's art style. However, the simplicity of that art style inspired me to draw, and suddenly I found myself creating more and more drafts. Whether those drafts will ever be completed is up to the future, but it's a big step for me to finally try again

This piece may be in Cloutchase's art style, but it's also got a little bit of me in it as well, and I'm more than happy to contribute to a fun community of people making stuff together by adding my own OC into the mix

Funny addition: At the bottom of my Webtoon notes is a small section of past-me complaining about how hard it was to draw with my dog staring at me. I got peer-pressured by my dog XD

sharkboy the quaquaval: sharkboy is trained to help around the house, but he much prefers to dance with me when i have the energy. when i don't, he exercises with bunke (his best friend).

my pokemon back at home:

toothpaste the togekiss: toothpaste basically carries my mental state. she helps me work through depressive episodes and calms down anxiety attacks. she rarely ever leaves the house even after years of trying.

frank the quagsire: frank provides deep pressure therapy and is by far the best hugger on the team. she's pretty lazy, preferring to nap with me. her and toothpaste are a bonded pair

Welp I wanted to draw my newest OC, Astrid (introduced here) but unfortunately my Cintiq needs a new adapter 😑 so no drawing until I can get another one sobs

Until then, here’s the picrew that inspired her design lol

A little bit about Astrid:

Her family name is Piperita which comes from the scientific name for the peppermint plant 🌱 Given she is a healer and has minty hair, it seemed like a good fit lol

She is in her early 20s like the rest of the main (human) cast in 'Her Devoted Shield' but she looks very youthful and is smol (5’0) so people often think she’s younger than she is. she is a smol angel and must be protected

Astrid was born and raised in the Rose Queendom to a family of tea sommeliers (fancy term for a tea specialist) who run several stores throughout the Queendom. She grew interested in herbal medicine and medical treatment from a young age. She worked incredibly hard to study to become a healer mage in the capital city once she discovered her talent for healing magic.

As mentioned in Chapter 1, she met Petra and Tai a couple of years before the current events when Petra’s cause brought her to the Rose Queendom and they became a team rather quickly. Astrid acts as their medic giving them and the fae they rescue support.

Specialties: healing magic, first aid, herbal remedies along with modern pharmaceutical knowledge, and making a mean cup of tea

Personality/Quirks: not shy but very soft spoken until she either gets really excited/distressed or goes into ‘work mode’, giggle-snorts often (tries to hide it but fails miserably), very nurturing and understanding, will not tolerate her patients/friends/family not taking care of themselves (woe unto ye if ye ain’t staying hydrated or taking ur meds), looks/sounds like the sweet sister type but is definitely the den mother type when need be. Side note: I feel that this fic is going to be a bit OC heavy because (to my knowledge) we don't know a whole lot about Briar Valley or the current royal family, or really anything aside from what is said by the canon characters or what we see in Lilia's dream in-game. Also I don't want to wait 100 more years for the game to finish Chapter 7 before I write this cuz damn. So basically, I'm gonna be filling in many gaps with my executively made decisions. To make it a little easier to keep track of all the people, I'm going to start making mini bio posts about them here so hopefully anyone who reads Her Devoted Shield isn't like "why are there so many made up people and things and who the hell are they?!" lol

DMC OC Lily's adopted dads headcanons/lore PART ONE:

Mandrake is on the left, Inferno/Farin is on the right. Here are the headcanons: -Lily's papa's name is Mandrake. Even in human form, he never bothered to change his name like his husband, Inferno, did. Inferno changed his name to Farin in his human form. -Mandrake and Farin are of a draconic demon species that were often used in the Underworld, if captured, as heavy labour slaves. Their forms resemble that of dragons. Farin's draconic demon form has cracks in it that glow a golden colour and Mandrake's demon form has cracks that shift colours from red to pink to purple. -Mandrake has spent a long time out of the Underworld to the point he had two jobs, which he doesn't do anymore but still tends to use the skills he got. The two jobs were a doctor and a scientist in robotics and prosthetics (which allowed him to help Lily heal from her injuries that she'd received on Fortuna as an 'experiment'.) -Farin had a job as a botanist for years after leaving the Underworld. He loves working with plants, though it became more of a hobby as he joined his husband in devil hunting. He makes potions with some of the herbs and gives some rare, Underworld-borne plants to Lily's witch girlfriend for her own potions. -Farin's nickname for Lily is 'Princess', which she pretends to hate because of how tomboyish she grows up, but she secretly loves being spoiled and called it because she loves her dad a lot. -Farin likes to see himself as the fun dad and he'd often take their small family out to trips to the beach, camping, to the park, etc. -Mandrake is the more strict father. Though Lily's behaviour was never too terrible, she has the typical Sparda-bloodline anger issues so occasionally, he would be the one to set her straight. A lot of the time, the only thing he has to do to make her behave is to give her that 'dad' glare. Most of you know the one, right? The absolute 'do not push it' glare that makes you stop and think about how you wanna go about stuff. Anyway, even though he's seen as more 'strict', he's actually a very quiet man. Mandrake and Farin went through a lot of shit and torture from Mundus, and though Farin has recovered mostly, Mandrake still finds it difficult to communicate with others. -Mandrake's quiet personality is what drew Lily to open up to him about the experiments and torture she went through from The Order. The first time she opened up to Mandrake (as I stated in Sydney's headcanons) was when he sat her down to braid her hair before bed one night. Her curls can be hard to deal with in the morning, so he tended to braid her hair so that it wasn't all knotted in the morning. Because of the peacefulness they both felt when they sat down and did this, it became a common routine, and eventually, he even opened up to Lily about his own experiences and it deepened their bond. -Farin is the older of the two. He feels fiercely protective of his family. -It takes A LOT to piss Farin off. He will smile in the face of many insults to himself, but if you put your hands on his family with bad intent? You better hope Mandrake holds him back or you'll face immediate assimilation. Ashes will be all that's left. -Mandrake is easier to piss off, but he does not react like Farin does. He would rather plot something than jump into violence as quick as his husband does. -Mandrake's nickname for Lily is 'dragon'. It may seem a bit simple or on the nose considering his and his husband's demon species, but it feels very personal to both him and Lily. It shows that he whole-heartedly accepts Lily as his child, adopted or not. Gonna end it here as this list was longer than intended! I'll post part two right after this!
