speaking of alec shrine i have this au idea that like the gang doing some investigation, someone is causing weird shit around ny and then they found, the lair of the potential problem maker being an alec shrine. life-size cardboard cutout, photos stamped on board, dolls, the chill that follows because this certainly not magnus's handiwork

And Magnus "this scarf is clearly an assassination attempt" Bane just... freaks the hell out. Increases the security around Alec (his magical security, that is) and begins his own detective style investigation for the stalker.

And then, one day, he receives a letter. A challenge. From the damn stalker.

The angst potential alone haunts me. How long do you think he waited for Ford?? When did it start to sink in that nobody was coming to save him, that nobody would miss him? Would anybody even want him back? How long did it take for his anger, his heartbreak, his grief to turn into acceptance and a belief that this was divine retribution? How long did he work, how many jobs did he take, how much wealth did he accrue, how many brushes with death did he have until he believed he’d “earned” the right to go home and see his brother?? Many such questions. I need to go deeper

Bonus internet points will be awarded to anyone who actually tries this exercise before voting.

Assume you need to get the spelling at least somewhat close, and if a character has multiple names, only one counts. Also, if a character doesn't have a canonical name, I'm sorry, but "that guy's wife" doesn't count.

For reference, if you can name the 9 members of the Fellowship, the eponymous Hobbit and his 13 dwarf buddies, 3 prominent women, and the guy who runs the Rivendell B&B, that's 27 characters right there. And you probably also know the name of a dragon.

For further reference, Tolkien Gateway has 637 (!!) pages dedicated to Third Age characters. (Don't click that link until you've voted, of course)

Edit: Your humble pollmaker gave this a try, and got as far as 73 before deciding she was too tired to keep trying to remember dwarf and Silm names. If you also want to share (and don't mind people being incredulous at your having forgot ____), pastebin allows you to paste text and share it for free. :)

Ghosts mess with electronics, right? What if the ambient ectoplasm in the air around Amity messes with calls headed to the Justice League in particular (if you want some angst for Danny maybe it’s somehow a result of his protection obsession affecting his haunt, like it wants to help before others can, or wants to protect his haunt from outsiders or something) but after an Event - perhaps when Amity gets sucked into the Ghost Zone? - They all go through at once and the JL is absolutely bombarded with calls.

Or, perhaps the calls go through after Amity is destroyed, and the JL has to deal with years and years of “Ghost calls” from a town that no longer exists (lone survivor Danny?) kind of like radio waves can be detected in space ages after things have changed at their source.

Katya as a character appeals to me on a fundamental level because she is so tied to the thing that ends up being her end. Goncharov is so wrapped up in the mafia and he drags her down with him, but she can’t begrudge him for it it’s his nature. she and andrey both want and so desperately try to drag goncharov out of the mob but he can’t help but sink back down it’s the only thing he’s ever known. but she recognizes that this isn’t good for any of them as we can see by her leaving andrey and goncharov to fend for themselves during the boat scene. she cares for goncharov deeply but eventually becomes tired of trying to take him out of the business and leaves goncharov and everything else behind

#kingdom hearts #kh #kh kairi #kh xion #kh namine #i don't really feel proud of my own stuff usually but #i really think this is the drawing i'm most proud of from this past year!! it made me think 'oh maybe i can draw' haha #i'm still kinda bad with colors but something clicked with this one. and i feel like i got the sentimental feeling i wanted!#ooh but this project's about flower symbolism so ramble incoming:#protea symbolizes resilience transformation and diversity; hollyhock means 'please remember me.'#so my general theme was finding a sense of self.#these 3 have struggled with finding their own identity; they tend to get left behind both in-universe and in general plotwise #and naminé and xion both resemble kairi and were overshadowed by her memory. but i feel like all 3 have transformed into their own people #xion and naminé have their faces covered partially by hollyhock to show their wish to be remembered for who they are-#instead of the parts that they share with someone else #and the protea bouquets show how they each held on and resiliently grew into their own person despite it all #i put a little swervy path on the hill behind kairi to give that hopeful sense of growth and moving forward. it's a little hard to see #hopefully that makes sense! i really love symbolism but i think in visuals so i'm really bad with words #but gosh working with everyone on this project was so fun. it was like impossible not to get swept up by the team's hype for this zine #i need to hunt down everybody's work and rb it #ohh and everybody's flowers are so crisply drawn it's insane!! i think if i lined all these flowers and leaves i'd die haha #fan art #my art #project stuff
