he's no riz gukgak or barry syx but there is just. something about him. he's so cool and interesting. as a random youtube comment i saw said, "zac oyama plays low intelligent/himbo characters as a blessing for brennan" and it SHOWS with lapin, it really does.

I tried a lot, I really tried, but in the end it's inevitable... JN ASH IS THE WORST VERSION OF THE CHARACTER AND THE FACT THAT HE IS THE FINAL VERSION HURTS MY SOUL!

Eh, while it's true he didn't do much in Journeys, I don't mind his characterization there. It's very Ash-like and consistent to what he had been through beforehand. There's some off moments, but bleh, every season has it too.

I think lots of people hate it cause too many folks keep projecting that he is older than 10 and when he actually acts that age, it feels OOC when... it really isn't... he is just acting his canon age 🤷

Also I'm the kind of person that is just glad he's gone. Period. His send-off was far from perfect, sure I wanted more from it, but at this point? I'm just glad it happened and for that alone I'm thankful for journeys.

btw season two of granada holmes so far is wild. they keep ending episodes on the weirdest notes like ?? im just confused abt why they added a clone of joel cairo from the maltese falcon and then didnt explain why he was so relevant to the plot. plus its just funny to hear after a whole episode something like "the criminals escaped on a boat to portugal. they died in a shipwreck" like...ok. thanks for the closure. but it cannot be understated how much i truly love seeing holmes and watson being insanely homosexual w each other i think maybe theyre in love

Clearly, Daemon has been painted a villain the first few episodes and I kinda hate to say it but they've definitely succeed at making me Very Strongly dislike him :')

Did it feel like the Trevor and Carlos talk was a do-over for last season or is it just me? The reason they're together in that scene is pretty contrived and the situation they discuss is pretty damn similar to the secret wife plot. Trevor says a lot of the things people wish they'd heard last year from Carlos, like he was scared but it was still wrong to keep it from Tommy, that he shouldn't have pressured her to meet his ex if it made her uncomfortable, and directly apologizing for putting her in that situation. I found it frustrating since its pretty much admitting the only reason we didn't get that in S4 was so they could do a serial killer story 🙄.

I can see where you might make the comparison, but I don't think the writers meant it as a do-over. Simply because I don't think the writers thought they left anything out last season. Tim went on social media rants about how we were all focusing on the wrong things, there were no plot holes, this was in the works forever, and clearly the wife plot had nothing to do with TK, etc etc...

I also think they had the opportunity to do any of those things you mentioned with that plot if they wanted and still had the serial killer thing happen. They just wrote that beginning tarlos/carlos arc incredibly poorly imo. Like, don't even get me started on the missed opportunities they had with the wife plot to have Carlos and his parents have a meaningful conversation about why Carlos would get married to a woman in the first place. If they had to do the wife thing, there were so many better directions they could have taken it... and that's really my main gripe with it.

I think any similarity in the wife/ex-wife thing is just a coincidence (or lazy writing). The reason they were together felt a little contrived, yeah, but I think it was done purposefully so we #1. had Carlos in the episode #2. got Trevor's perspective on a situation we previously only had Tommy's take on & #3. were able to see TK & Carlos reuniting and not have it feel out of place with the rest of the episode.

finally watching tdos and honestly i kinda think its Just okay but i gotta admit having a finale challenge be a contest that was out-of-universe written around the viewer voting results is a really smart idea. dont think ive heard of other shows doing that
