TOUGH REMINDER: BEING A BABY WONT GET YOU ANYWHERE đđ¤ˇââď¸
some of you need to stfu with this whining bullshit!!
There is a single fact that if you have not induced pure consciousness by now it is your fault. You can change that in seconds of course and no one is mad at you because at the end of the day itâs your life, but when push comes to shove its you who needs to put the work in (not when it comes to inducing the void because that is effortless, but in general when it comes to discipline and staying focused) itâs you who needs to lock in. Itâs you who needs to identify the problems youâre having and deal with it, or you will get no where, no one is here to hold your hand.
You can keep crying at your big age like some innocent baby. âbut it just doesnât work forâ âhow dare you say people are lazy when itâs not our faultâ âitâs not my fault i fall asleepâ bla bla bla you might as well suck your thumb while your at it. And when it hits 2030 you can be in the community preaching thatâs itâs âstill not your faultâ, go ahead!! Sure call me horrible for this but if youâre still here itâs your own fault, because when people come into my asks my dms my comments and tell me that my posts are too harsh and that itâs ânot their faultâ, I ask them âwhoâs is it then?â and cricketsâŚ
And if youâre sitting here bitter I want you to ask yourself, whoâs fault it that youâre still here, whoâs fault is it that you still fall asleep, and do you know what fine maybe you try so hard to stay awake but canât, but let me ask you, who gets affected by that? who gets affected by the fact that youâve wasted so many years here because you âfall asleepâ, because it doesnât affect me.. itâs you, itâs you who will never progress talking to the wall about how it still somehow isnât your faultâŚ
The way some of you will read my posts which are meant to be motivational, and helpful all the way through and still try and absolve yourself from the blame is so embarrassing, but it will be you who reaps the consequences of this attitude. My posts apply to EVERYONE, you are not a baby who is exempt from criticism and from tough love, you can continue to be hard headed and tell yourself itâs not your fault that your still here. Sure that will help you sleep at night but it wonât help you get your dream life.
From now on I will be deleting demotivating comments, my account is about helping others, not coddling some babies who canât live with the fact that it is their job to get their dream life, if you want that look elsewhere, but I will not have yall get into peopleâs heads, there are people who are ready to accept the fact that they control their reality and there are people who are ready to lock in, i will not have yall ruin that. I will not accept comments dms and asks, trying to avoid blame.
Neville does say âdo not blame, only resolveâ but at what point does it become enough. Circumstances are hard and of all people i would know, but at what point do you start taking accountability knowing that your thoughts create your reality and knowing that if you locked in you would have everything already.
there is no such thing as âthis doesnât apply to everyoneâ, you arenât exempt from the facts of the law, ever, and you can delude yourself into thinking so and i hope those thoughts keep you company within all the unsuccessful years to come
GET TF UP AND STOP WHINING, YOU CAN DO THIS!!
last time i checked, bitter and pressed arenât apart of the ingredients for the manifestation recipe đ

Very angry at @staff and @radar for putting AI parading as a photo in front of me. Radar should be for supporting the arts. Not lazy, stolen, unethically produced images. This "photographer's" account is riddled with it. There's a few real ones sprinkled in, but like, look at these damn posts.
Why is there no noise in his photos? Real camera photos generally do not look airbrushed clean, especially in low-light situations.
Why is there a hand coming out of womens' heads?
Why are all the creatures and people melting into backgrounds?
Why does the red bird "photo" not look like any known species of bird? It looks like 1 known species with the wrong beak.
Bigger mystery yet, why did OP think these looked good in the first place?
Why is Hive AI, a site dedicated to scanning images for AI, agreeing with me so consistently? It is inaccurate sometimes, but I've only seen it clearly be wrong once before. Best way to find a fraud is to scan a bunch of their "art" and look for a pattern. Boy, is there a pattern here. Basically every water shot after 2022 (the year big generators like MidJourney became widely available) comes up as AI. FUNNY HOW THAT TIMING WORKS, HUH?
Remember kids, if a photo looks wonderfully painterly, it's probably made by a machine that stole from actual paintings and combined their qualities with stolen photos. Because that's what happened here, just like with countless other frauds on the internet.
Tumblr staff, photographers, artists, followers, please don't accept this trash on your Radar. Let's have some standards, yeah?

Quote from a post: "the things created within fandom arenât real - an individual fic canât cause actual, material harm to a reader, even if it contains tropes that would be harmful or distressing if they happened in that readerâs real life; an authorâs use of certain tropes or interest in certain characters is not indicative of their actual morals and values in real life; thought crimes are not real crimes - but fanfiction is produced by human beings who are themselves products of the societies and communities in which we all live, and these societies and communities all have flaws and failings.
which is to say, those of us who prefer to read male friendships as romantic do need to be aware that, no matter how enlightened on gender and its foibles we think ourselves to be, we are nonetheless influenced as modern humans by a modern tendency to discourage platonic physical and emotional closeness between men - especially straight men - on the grounds that two men having this sort of relationship is inherently queer and, in being queer, implicitly sexual [an understanding of queerness which is another powerful societal influence on our thought, even if we know we donât agree with it.]"
Okay this is from a big post from a big fandom account here please don't speculate who it is this is not about them specifically and has nothing to do with them i genuinely respect this poster and they are nothing but a supportive space and don't have any anti-nonsense. But I wanna talk about this point that they are making "the society is queering straight friendships" which is something also the anti-fujoshi crowd is saying and honestly I can't agree with that point.
I don't think its us the people who make fandom are queering the relationships between two straight men but the patriarchal system we live under and straight men themselves are doing it to themselves. They can't show love and affection to each other lest other dudes will call them gay not because there are secret fujoshis around that sexualize them. They can be vulnerable period lest everyone calls them whiney like women. I feel like (and most of the things I say here are vibes, not facts) men having close friendships with other men are green flags, and most women are excited to see men who have exact the strong relationship that are portrayed in media.
I'm confused by this talking point to be honest. I also understand that by saying everything I said above I sort of said the same thing as the original poster. In a sense that society is the problem here and we live in a society as we know, but... idk I feel like what they say is "we live in a society where everyone by default is sexualizing male friendships" which sounds like the standard anti-fujoshi talking point to me.
And regarding the point of romantic relationships being prioritized over platonicâ I feel like is a complete bullshit to be honest.
Romantic relationships are prioritized over platonic ones across the board. Straight couples leave their straight friends behind when they get further into relationship too! I don't understand this impulse to constantly talk about romantic vs platonic thing when its about queer ships, and maybe there is somewhere straight ship discourse about romantic vs plantonic but its not as big as with mlm or wlw ships.
And honestly even with this take I feel like romantic relationships are also not prioritized but rather are more encouraged. And there is difference between encouraging and actually prioritizing I think.
(I want to add here that I'm not aroace so maybe its a blindspot and from that identitys point of view the dynamics might be different)
In reality I think both are equally hard to obtain and maintain. I always felt like the fandom being so shipping focused was not about people being hellbent on romance but just the fact that good love stories are few and far between both in fiction and IRL and we can't help but try to make something at least remotely good, or interesting or satisfying.
Again, my main problems is: 1) I don't agree that romantic relationships are prioritized to that high degree over the friendships like everyone claims. 2) I don't think that every single person is actually a secret fujoshi waiting to make any straight male friendship gay. 3) Fandoms are romantic ship centric because people just want more narratively satisfying romantic stories that are underrepresented in media (or they don't get to experience it IRL) rather than they are vehemently against platonic ships.
I don't know this hopefully came out coherent.
--
The person who wrote that sounds like a pretentious twatwaffle, and I am so sick of seeing otherwise reasonable people spout that crap. That's been true since the 90s and probably before.
The reality is that Western culture enshrines male friendship as the highest form of affection possible. This goes back to the Classical world. And, yes, they were probably fucking too back then, but the thing that all of the media is about is friendship.
The entire backbone of Western culture is built on the idea that men are spiritually, biologically, inherently more capable than women of this highest form of relationship. Romance is the big thing for women because we're not eligible for The Pure And Holy Friendship Between Two Men.
The epidemic of male loneliness is real, but we haven't gotten any less "Bros before hos". Fandom and m/m shipping behavior are irrelevant to this.
--
Furthermore, fandom has plenty of people who don't focus on shipping.
AO3 was built by slashers, so ship type is a top-level category, and the site obviously signals that it's about shipping and particularly non heterosexual shipping since you can filter out het.
Past sites often had more metadata that wasn't around ships (e.g. FFN's genres that work like bookstore genres) and almost never let you get rid of het. You might have been able to filter in The Gay, but straight stuff was literally unmarked.
~We do need to be aware of~
Bite me.
This naggy phrase is everywhere, and nothing good comes of it.
The only thing we need to be aware of is that Blorbo is great and s/he should be mashed together with Other Blorbo. If that's in gen adventures, you do you.

My big mcr5 conspiracy thread guys
All composed from what I spammed my friends with
So mcr just announced a North American tour, however some people suspect that they might be going to release another album. I also believe this due to the odd cryptic nature of the things theyâve been posting, even after the tour was announced.
For example, this picture of a dog captioned âgood boyâ, which was posted well after the tour was announced (16 hours ago)
There is also a new private/unlisted video on their YouTube channel which hasnât gone public yet, just like the announcement. Unlisted videos show on the number of videos available on a channel. This just went up. It had gone up by 1 for a while before the announcement went public even when it was unlisted. (I learned this from someone in the mcr tumblr community but my screenshot doesnât contain the account name and I canât find it, if this is you please tell me and Iâll credit you)
On the topic of the announcement, it contained a lot of recurring characters from Gerardâs 2022 tour outfits. It is said on the promotion not that my chemical romance will be performing the black parade, but that the black parade themselves will perform. The concept of the album is that death comes for you in the form of your strongest memory, which in the patients case was a parade that was most likely ww1 propaganda, and the gap between the black parade and right now is close to the gap between ww1 and ww2. This has lead some people to believe that the band will be performing a new album set near ww2 as the black parade. The trailer shows a ww2-esque scene which would back this up.
Plus, at the end of the video there is paper falling from the sky in front of a kingdom, which might allude to The Paper Kingdom, the original, scrapped 5th my chemical romance album.
This is also slightly backed up by the odd typography used throughout the promotional of the tour, like in this post captioned âif you could be anything, what would you be?
This typography has been shown to spell out K, T and P in another script, rotated (Russian I think??) which is TPK backwards, or the paper kingdom (MCR5!!!!)
And it is not abnormal for them to spell things backwards, theyâve done that before so itâs not completely conspiracy level, like how they wrote my chemical romance backwards in the corner of the foundations of decay (their most recent single and the only thing theyâve released since the reunion).
Plus, the typography doesnât really look like it spells mcr, suggesting they are alluding to something else.
Under an hour ago, they posted this with the caption containing âlong liveâ.
Some people think that the new album could be performed by the characters of the black parade and called long live. If this is true then the band could even be performing as these 4 characters depicted below (like in danger days!!). However, this could just be tour promotion.
Promoting an album also takes about 2-3 months and the tour lasts about 3 months (the perfect amount of time to promote an album in!) and contains ten shows. I have seen people saying that they could even tease a track per show!!
This is all speculation obviously, however I donât believe mcr would have a reunion just to drop one song and go on a couple of tours. I think they will drop more new music sometime soon and Iâm sooooo excited!!

i'll have to take your word on that, given i don't know much on how the rate of inflation increases and didn't bother to check before making the off the cuff remark. though again this is all still assuming that the rate of inflation remained consistent over a hundred year period? I assume?
as for his current bounty, the discussion came up elsewhere but accounting for inflation would also mean that robins post enis lobby bounty should also [probably] be higher then a one million bump, as her 79,000,000 bounty is from twenty years ago. given that you got the 4.24 from the square root, i'm gonna assume that the rate of inflation just 25 years ago in one piece would then be 2.059 rounded. if robins bounty from 25 years ago was accounted for inflation, then it would be closer to 160 million i assume. given that her first bounty is from 20 years ago then we can assume it was around the ball park of 150 million then if nothing else. though as you know i am probably wrong. been a while since i did math.
anyways, to the point at hand and ignoring that i dont think oda really thought to much about what introducing calculatable inflation in one piece meant, we can then assume i guess that when the marines readjust bounties whats weighted more then just inflation is a current threat assessment. brook being a big notorious name 50 years ago worth 140mil in todays cash, doesn't necessarily mean he has the notoriety now to warrant that danger especially if hes playing second fiddle to strawhat. conversely we can also assume that since dorry and broggy caused such a massive stink at egghead then their bounties were readjusted to match inflation in full as they remain as dangerous and as notorious as they were in the past.
well it definitely wont ever come up, we learned recently that dorry and broggy's bounties of 100,000,000 are subject to inflation in the modern day. when accounted for inflation their bounties are 1,800,000,000. roughly. these bounties are from over a hundred years ago. as such 1 beri is worth 18 times less in the modern day compared to 100 years ago in one piece.
if we assume that the rate of inflation in one piece was generally consistent over 100 years, then we can determine when subject to brooks original bounty what he was originally worth. brooks bounty is from around 50 years ago and is 33,000,000. as i said if we assume the rate of inflation was consistent then all we have to do is half that multiplier into a 9.
33,000,000 times 9 is a 297,000,000 beri bounty.
brooks original bounty was roughly worth more then all of the supernovas bar luffy and kidd. when accounted for inflation.
#did the one piece world have its own form of the great depression i wonder?#or sudden currency inflation at some point?#we will never know because unfortunately most people dont care about that

Spotting Witches with Bad Intentions
This post is not going to be a call out post, its not even going to be a witch hunt, instead this post is aimed towards beginners who may be getting into the community, looking for mentors, and dont know how to spot bad apples yet, so lets take a look!
What am I talking about?
When it comes to magic or spirituality when you enter a new community you are being exposed to new practices, voices, opinions, and more. It can be really hard to navigate what everyone is saying, and sometimes we can accidentally fall into the wrong groups because we just lack the knowledge to spot when someone is being shady or has ulterior motives.
Accidents Happen
So, before going into how to spot bad actors we need to look at accidents. Sometimes we join a community and the person has genuinely good intentions but are accidentally contributing to stigma.
A big example of this would be creators on a short form content sites, you can make a spell, but its very hard to explain it within 15 seconds of content and a lot of people wont follow up with the reason behind something. Sometimes you get creators that follow a format, or push beliefs without really understanding why (for example "rosemary is a universal herb").
Another accident could be when you just meet someone so set in their ways, its very hard for them to see other perspectives. You can still listen to their people, see how they argue against push back, and learn something, the problem is sometimes this group has trouble taking accountability, correcting information, and that is a good thing to note.
Finally another big accident I tend to see is within heated spaces, you can learn a lot from debate, however you need to identify what platform you are on, the type of information being provided, and play devils advocate. Not only does it make you a stronger thinker, but it helps you figure out where you stand on hot topics.
These are just some accidents out of many, and I will be going into how to spot when someone is being accidentally bad faith, but the biggest thing to remember is to keep your peace. Sometimes youll meet people eager to help and accidentally spread mis-information, sometimes youll meet a mentor that is so deep in their path that they cant help you with other topics, whats important is that you process the information and fact check it and learn how to make your own opinions.
With that being said lets move onto what a 'bad actor' is
What are 'Bad Actors'?
A 'Bad Actor' is someone in a witchy or spiritual community that has bad intentions for you or someone's practice. They seek to gain something from you, whether its money, fame, followers, or even information, these people are looking to use you for a goal.
Bad actors come in all forms, whether its predatory media companies, stars on tic tok, or even one-on-one mentors, and it can be very easy to be swept up in abusive situations. These groups exist in many many forms so lets get into some examples.
What are some examples?
In all of these examples I will be getting into how to spot the good, bad, and dirty. These are not all the examples, but pretty close haha
Bigotry - This one is self-explanatory, you know you found a bad actor if their ideologies aim to harm people directly. Concepts like racism, homophobia, sexism, do not belong in our community.
Tic Tok as a tool - Something I see a lot is that tic tok can be full of bad actors who are looking to make money with your view. Whether its 'rage bait' saying someone isn't practicing right, or chasing clout by making up a hex, tic tok is filled with mis-information that can be hard to separate from genuine people. The issue with short form content is that its so short, your not getting really deep information and its hard to cite sources. (common on tic tok, instagram reels, and short form content)
Liars and Mis-information - Often times this section gets mixed up with people who genuinely are un-informed, so you may hear lies like 'you can only be a woman to be a witch' or 'you cant buy your own tarot deck, it must be gifted to you' and what's important to know is that bad actors and genuine people react different to these kind of mistakes. (Common on reddit, amino, and tumblr, mainly forum based sites)
"elder" Baiting - This is the concept of people who either purposefully play up their 'years of experience' to create a false image of themselves, or it can be people who act as if they have really complex and deep information and the only way to access it is to follow in their foot steps. (Common on tic tok, discord, and chat sites)
"Hero" Baiting - This is the concept of people who feel the need to 'fix' someone or something. They feel this need to help you on your practice, but they end up micro managing your craft and spoon feed you answers so you never learn the skills you need to think for yourself. Often time this group then leaves you when they are done molding you into what they want you to be. (Common on discord, Instagram, and twitter)
"Mentor" Baiting - This is when someone claims to be a mentor and either only teachers their way of thinking and doesn't encourage research, or becomes hostile when they advertise being a mentor so people ask questions. This group tends not actually teach anything, and instead uses people as an ego boost and for credibility. (Common on every platform)
Fear Mongers - This group of people starts rumors or spreads mis-information to create terror, chaos, and sometimes even profit off of it. A big example is when a group of trolls spread the idea they hexed a god, and then broke off and created fake stories about 'that god being mad and affected by the hex' causing beginners to panic while profiting off the videos. This group tries to spread as much as possible, as far as they can. (Common on every platform)
Cult Leaders - This is both literal, and figurative, but it represents a group of people that are preaching an ideal, and create an echo chamber of supporters to gain credibility. It is VERY important to research genuine spiritual cult movements, and also keep an eye out for spaces that seem to follow cult flags like restricting information (more on that below, common on discord, reddit, and forum spaces)
'Holier than Thou' - This is actually a complex, people who have a holier than thou complex are people that see themselves as so wise and great that they will gatekeep information, talk down to you, and give bad information because they cannot fathom that they are equal to all of us. They believe they have some divine knowledge or journey only they are on, so they talk down to others. (common on every platform)
Scammers - This is an easy one, this is your pushy tarot readers trying to steal from you, these are people that are trying to get you to take a class for sacred information that's really just on Wikipedia, these are groups try to take advantage of naivety and usually money is the goal (Common on every platform)
Religious Gatekeepers - These are groups that take an open concept but try to gate keep it, for example we saw this happen with tarot in 2020 where a group tried to argue its closed before the community came forward and said it wasn't. Their goal is to gain attention, money from post interaction, and spread mis-information. (Common on discord, reddit, and forum based platforms)
Bad Faith Activists - These are 'activists' similar to gatekeepers, who aim to be a super loud and controversial activist so that way they can gain attention and a following. Often times they use clickbait statements, don't give information till the very very end of a video, and tend to be performative online. (common on Instagram, Facebook, and tic tok)
Echo Chambers - These are spaces where everyone thinks so alike that new ideas are rarely introduced. Mainly you see a lot of dog-piling, shared sources, and empowered takes on things because no one is there to disagree or add research. (Common on forum based platforms and chat platforms)
How can I spot it?
In relation to accidents: A lot of what we just went over can happen to innocent people, beginners can take on a holier than thou complex, elders can accidentally create echo chambers, whats important is how they react to correction. People who are genuine tend to adjust or explain their behavior and are willing to hear you out, they open the door to communication, and are willing to house a discussion. Sometimes people spread mis-information on accident because something is just so repeated its hard not to believe it. Whats important is we give the benefit of the doubt to people when we first interact with others, and watch out for the warning signs. In relation to true bad actors: Some common traits exist when it comes to bad actors, its
Aggression or passive aggression
Cannot admit fault when corrected on something
Weasels out of conversations
Refuse to house certain discussions unreasonably (no danger present in the topic)
dogpiles people asking questions
Presents themselves in a position of total authority with little to back up their claims
Tries to back you into a corner for money or information
Bullies or is belligerent towards you
Talks down to you
Will discuss a concept, but when asked questions, aggressively tells you to 'just research'
Cant backup claims with specific sources, or wont identify Unverified Personal Genosis
Another big thing we have to discuss is cult behavior, especially when it comes to spaces like discord where a server owner can easily create echo chambers, its important to identify these common traits
Absolute Authority without accountability
Zero Tolerance for criticism or questions
Hiding financial topics (i.e hiding the price of a reading and trying to force you to pay whatever price they set AFTER the reading, pressuring you to join a group for a small fee, not telling you where money is going in an organization)
Creating fears about the real world which turn into conspiracies or witch hunts
A belief that people who left the group are evil or wrong, and not being able to fathom why someone would leave a group
Abuse of members, this can occur even on discord via verbal abuse, doxxing, threats, blackmail, and much much more
Records, books, articles, hashtags, documenting abusive traits of the leaders
Members feeling like they arent 'good enough' or cant live up to standards set by the group
Belief that the leader is right 100% of the time
A belief that the leader has a divine truth and seeking validation from them
Lets remember guys that Anyone can fall victim to a cult, they are very good at what they do, and they do exist in magical spaces even on social media. Its very important that you remember these people arent 'stupid' but they are victims of manipulation and it is our job to support them.
For more information click me
Finally remember BITE when looking out for cult spaces Behavior Control Information Control Thought Control Emotional Control Edit: Big thank you to the person who sent me this wonderful document, this is a model of common things that control groups use to indoctrinate people.
How can I research a claim or a person?
This is a wonderful question, here are some of my research tips and tricks, and I have made a couple posts about it before so lets take a look
Google names - This can be people, authors, organizations, servers, and this can tell you a lot about what people are saying, and if they are attempting to push an agenda.
Play Devils Advocate - When you see someone making a really bold claim, try to research things that would indicate the opposite. What demographics are on which side? Why is this happening?
Use the CRAAP test and other note taking strategies - When you see a claim its good to note it down, then do research on it at a later time and use test models to verify the credibility of the claim
Diversify your spaces - To get a good picture of what is going on, its good to check out vast communities to get a well rounded view of something, if you mainly stick to tic tok try branching out to chat spaces.
Sources Matter - If someone is saying something wild or out there, ask them where they got the information from. If they cant give you anything specific, then I would question if its coming from a source at all
Research is a nuanced thing, people research differently! Whats important is that you are comparing and contrasting things and forming your own opinions on a piece of media. Being well educated is a great tool and knowledge is power!
Final Notes
While this isnt perfect, and yes there are so many types of bad actors and traits, whats important is that we begin this conversation and start to help people identify who is looking to harm you. Its important to identify motives and keep yourself safe online! If anyone thinks of anything more to add feel free to drop it in my comments!
Fair winds my friends!

Seeing as how you're doing headcanons again i'd like to request hcs of Gavin,Milo,Sam,Vincent, and Guy( btw here's a thought for ya Guy as Hermes dangerous has stuck in my head for the past couple hours send help) also your previous hc were also great!(you could say they were ruthless ha ha ha im sorry that was bad lol)
~ Deviant anon ďźââĎâ(´Ďď˝*â)
idk if you can tell but I really like Guy
also I wrote headcanons for some character recently so characters like Gavin, Sam, and Milo have them a lil short than Vincent and Guy since it takes a while to think about possible in-character hcs for them. Sorry :(
Lots of Headcanons #3
Gavin
Believe it or not, Gavinâs social media accounts are usually blank. Save for Instagram. He just has them to comment under the groupâs posts.
Despite never reading a book, Freelancer has told him heâd do best in the writing industry.
He does not know how to hold a baby. If you give him a baby for any reason heâd hold it with both of his hands under its shoulders.
The worst heâs been scared was when he played a horror VR game, but he didnât scream or anything he really just jolted and went âshitâ and moved on. Freelancer was not amused.
He likes being the big spoon when he and FL cuddle because he gets to breathe in their scent, hold them, and remind himself that this is real, and not just a dream heâll wake up from.
Milo
You canât beat him in cup pong. Digitally or physically. You just canât.
The only reason David is considered a better cook than Milo is because Milo uses a lot of seasoning and the pack is full of babies who canât handle oregano or sazĂłn.
Whenever the pack goes somewhere tropical he has to wear a shirt or Sweetheart will constantly attempt to latch onto his torso.
Milo and cats have always gone together like peanut butter and jelly. He had a cat toy when he was a toddler, his first cell phone had a stray cat as his wallpaper, heâd feed the stray cats around his home, etc. So when he learned that he and the people around him could turn into âdogsâ (wolves but still) he was DEVASTATED. Got over it after a day tho.
He likes juice boxes.
Avid Apple Juice âtastes like pissâ hater, although he also says mint ice cream tastes like toothpaste so take that as you will.
Sam
Sam fucking hates cowboys.
Sam had braces from the ages of 19-21 and the only upside he had to being a vampire when he first turned was that he didnât need his retainer anymore.
Sam always reads manga wrong and no matter how many times anyone explains it heâll read it from left to right and never understands whatâs going on.
The closest Sam has gotten to riding a horse is when he flopped on top of Darlinâs back while they were shifted and they walked around his house like thatâŚheâs never been on a horse.
Sam has a lot of existential crisises, compared to like Vincent or Porter.
If something's flying and he can't figure out if it's a plane, helicopter, animal, or any identifiable flying object, he just believes it's an Alien UFO and moves on.
Darlin' gave him a wheat head for Christmas once. He was not amused.
Vincent
Wanted to be a youtuber for a brief period in time in 2010.
Had a weird obsession with those traced anime characters dancing tiktoks in 2020, a little after meeting Lovely.
He canonically has multiple cars he likes showing off to Lovely, but he also nearly never uses them and itâs Lovely who showboats them and takes them on joyrides.
He didnât believe William at first when he was first told heâs a vampire now and was the only one who survived The Surge incident, until they both saw his funeral take place and see his grave, which took place a long time after the accident because his parents refused to believe he was dead.
He had 3 tomodachis at once and they all constantly died because he forgot feeding them was a thing.

== Love Notes ==
Hey there lovelies. I hope you know just how much you mean to one another. One of the big things that came from people leaving twitter and joining other platforms, is how much love that's been going around. I've seen quite a lot of people mentioning just how much OFMD has meant to them and their families in case they couldn't find folks on other platforms, and it's been so very heartwarming.
I've also seen some pretty scary things... and people banding together to help each other. I know sometimes it's hard to see when we're in the thick of it-- but we really are stronger together. Even if everyone doesn't always get along fandomwise-- you all step up when things are tough, and that's what crew is all about, and it's beautiful.
You're beautiful.
Remember to be kind to yourself no matter what happens today. You deserve the same kindness you give, even when you don't have it in you that day. Take care lovelies, be well.

summary - After the events in Sokovia, Wanda goes to live at the Avengers compound and there she ends up getting closer to Natasha, someone she initially thought hated her. Natasha had every reason in the world to hate Wanda, but seeing her so lost and broken with Pietro's death made Natasha, even if unconsciously, take on a protective stance towards Wanda, and the closer they got, the more a feeling that Natasha never thought she could really feel came to the surface. Clint invites them to spend Christmas with his family, feeling that some time away from the Avengers compound would do them good. And he wasn't wrong.

Natasha felt her heart ache with agony when Hulkâs image disappeared from the screen. She knew Bruce had been battling with his own demons for a long time and even after joining the Avengers and saving the world more than they count, even now that they had found a way to put Hulk to sleep with ease, he still couldnât relax. He was always on alert. And things only got worse after they met the Maximmofâs twins and Wanda used her abilities to make him lose control and attack and destroy everything in his path. Nat sighed deeply, trying not to show any emotions in that ship surrounded by so many people she didnât know.Â
âSo, whereâs Bruce?â Fury asked, appearing at her side.Â
âI donât know. He turned off the communication system and kept the Quinjet in stealth mood.â
âWell, at least the Quinjet is completely equipped. Heâll be fine.â Fury sighed, running a hand through his head. âGo get some rest, thereâs nothing we can do for now.âÂ
âWhere are the others?âÂ
âBarton and Rogers are in the infirmary. Tony rescued Thor after the city blew up and they were thrown down, and Vision just left Wanda here a moment ago.âÂ
âWhere is Pietro?âÂ
Natasha felt tears welling up once again at Fury just shaking his head. âHow?âÂ
âUltronâs final attack.âÂ
âWhereâs Wanda?âÂ
âSheâs down there, with Pietro.âÂ
Natasha nodded and without saying anything else started her way to the lower levels of the ship. She wasnât sure why she was going to check on Wanda, why she cared, especially after what she did, entering her mind, bringing back her worst memories, but still.Â
It didnât take long for Natasha to locate Wanda and despite everything, it broke her heart to see her like that: her head on Pietroâs chest as her tears streamed down her face silently. She wasnât sure what she would do or say as Wanda probably held them accountable for losing her brother, and in a way she was right. If Tony hadnât created Ultron none of this would have happened. She also knew that Tony meant well but still.Â
Natasha sighed and approached them slowly, not wanting to startle Wanda, and not wanting to invade her final moments with her brother, but definitely not wanting her to be alone right now. She didnât know what to say, she wasnât very good at it, and the fact that she barely knew them didnât help at all. Each person reacted differently to their grief, and Natasha had no idea how Wanda would react to her presence there.
âWhat?âÂ
Wandaâs heavy accent and annoyed tone pulled her out of her thoughts. âSorry, I just wanted to check on you.â Nat sighed, kneeling beside her.
âWhy? Want to make sure I wonât use my powers to kill everyone in here?âÂ
Natashaâs brow furrowed. Why would she think that?
âSo?âÂ
âIâm sorry.â Natasha shook her head. âNo one here thinks you will do such a thing. I just- Iâm not going to ask if youâre okay because that would be a really stupid question, I guess I just didnât want you to be alone right now.â She shrugged.Â
âWhy?âÂ
âI wonât pretend I know how youâre feeling but I know the feeling of losing someone you loved.â Natasha said softly, more softly than she ever thought possible regarding Wanda but then her eyes flickered to Pietroâs body and wellâŚÂ
God, she was exhausted. She sat on the floor and leaned back, her whole body sore, her muscles complaining against the awkward position and the hard floor beneath her.Â
âSo, what happens to me now?â Wanda asked after a minute.Â
âAs far as I am concerned, you stay with us.â Natasha said, running a hand through her hair. âI mean, unless you donât want to.âÂ
âAnd where exactly would I go now?âÂ
Natasha opened and closed her mouth a few times before settling for silence. She knew the implications of what Wanda said - she had lost everything, everyone. She didnât have anywhere to go.Â
âI know.â Natasha exhaled deeply. âWhat I meant is that you donât have to stay at the compound, or with us at all. I know that you hate us, that you hate Tony.â She bit her lip, thinking about the options. âI mean, I hope that despite everything, you decide to stay with us, but if not, then Iâm sure Fury can help find a place for you.âÂ
Natasha saw the surprise in the way Wandaâs eyes widened a bit at her words, at the way her brows rose, and she was surprised herself, but she realized that she meant it. Even if she was still mad at Wanda for invading her mind and making her relieve her worst memories, she knew what it was like to be completely alone and with nowhere to go, and she didnât want that for her.Â
âYouâre right, I donât like Stark, but you and the others arenât so bad.âÂ
Natasha raised an eyebrow. That was new. And good, maybe. âWhat made you change your mind about us?â
âYour friend, the arrow guy, he could have let me die down there when I froze, but he didnât. He saved me. He said that it didnât matter what I did or who I was, and he didnât blame me for what was happening. He said that I had the choice to stay hidden and he would send Pietro to get me but if I decided to fight, the moment I walked through that door I would be an Avenger.âÂ
âYeah, this is how Clint is.â Natasha smiled genuinely despite everything. âLook, what happened canât be changed, unfortunately, so, if you decide to stay with us, I promise you that we wonât hold what happened in Sokovia against you. It is your fault as much as ours. But the moment you stepped out of that door, after Clint peeptalk, you became an Avenger and we will help you.â
âAs long as Stark is not the one responsible for me, Iâm okay with it.âÂ
âDonât worry, he wonât be.â Natasha smiled tiredly.Â
Before she could say anything else they felt the ship preparing to begin its descent for landing. As soon as the ship stopped they made their way to the higher levels. Natasha nodded as they walked past Fury and led Wanda into the compound.Â
âNat! Wanda!â Clintâs voice stopped them as they were about to enter the building where the living area was. âThank God you guys are okay.âÂ
âI wouldnât say okay, but we are alive.â Natasha said. âHow are you?âÂ
âIâll be okay.â He smiled weakly. âLook, I spoke to Fury and he will take care of everything-â Clint gestured vaguely.Â
âThank you.âÂ
Wanda said absently and Nat could only imagine all the mixed emotions she was going through right now. She knew there wasnât much they could do other than that but still.
âSo, Iâll head to the farm, call me if you guys need anything.â Clint said when they remained silent.Â
âThanks, Clint, weâll do.â Nat smiled tiredly. âCâmon, Wanda, letâs find a room for you.â She put a hand on Wandaâs shoulder, not even realizing what she was doing until they started walking into the building.Â
Natasha led Wanda straight to one of the rooms, she could show the place around later.Â
âMy room is just across the hall.â She pointed to a room with a closed door. âYou will find average clothes in the dresser and everything you need in the bathroom if you want to take a bath. God knows I do.â Natasha exhaled shakily. âJust let me know if you need anything, ok?
âI guess you want your jacket back.â Wanda said flatly as she started to remove the item.
âYou can keep it. It looks good on you.â Natasha stopped her movements gently.Â
âAre you sure?âÂ
âYes, I was just messing around back in the church.âÂ
âOkay then.â Wanda smiled, pulling the jacket back.Â
Natasha nodded and went to her room. As soon as she closed the door behind her, she started removing her suit and went straight to the bathroom. She filled the bathtub and let her body sink in the hot water as all the feelings from that long week came crashing down on her.Â
She felt a mix of exhaustion, anger and sadness simmer beneath the surface, reminders of Ultronâs destruction, Bruce's departure, and the countless losses they had endured along the way. Yet, under it all, she couldnât shake the nagging awareness of Wanda just down the hall.Â
Here was this girl - no, woman - who had lost so much in the span of a single battle. Her face, streaked with tears, haunted Natashaâs mind. It felt strange to feel protective toward her after everything. She wasnât sure what had compelled her to sit by Wanda's side earlier, other than the raw understanding of how it felt to have no one, to feel like the world would swallow you whole in the quiet after a tragedy. Thatâs why she avoided being alone, because being alone made her think about life, and loss, and herself. And she hated it.Â
Inhaling deeply, Natasha sank a little deeper into the water, closing her eyes to let the warmth seep in. Her muscles started to loosen and she let herself relax a little bit. They had defeated Ultron, Strucker was dead, and for now they didnât have any monsters or enemies to defeat, besides their own.Â
The images of the Red Room started to resurface and Natasha let out a long sigh. It would take her some time to push all those memories away again. She should be fuming at Wanda because of it, but for some reason she couldnât put her finger on, she couldnât bring herself to be really mad at her.Â
Once her skin began to prune, Natasha reluctantly got out, wrapping a towel around herself and padding barefoot across the floor to her room. She slipped into a loose shirt and sweatpants, and she glanced toward the door, wondering if Wanda was still awake. Maybe she should check on her? Just to make sure she was settled.
Before she could change her mind, Natasha crossed the hall and knocked lightly on Wanda's door. The soft rustle behind the door confirmed that Wanda's was still up, and after a moment, it cracked open.Â
"Natasha? Is everything okay?" Wandaâs eyes, still a little red, met hers, surprised but not displeased.
"Yeah, I-" Natasha scratched her neck. "I just want to check how you're settling in, if you need anything." She shrugged.
Wanda tilted her head, confusion all over her face but she stepped aside so Natasha could enter. She looked like sheâd washed up too, hair damp, face scrubbed clean, but the sadness hadnât left her eyes.Â
âIâm okay, considering everything, I guess.â
Natasha glanced around the room, knowing what she would find there; the plainness, the sparse, impersonal feel. She knew better than anyone how stark the compound felt to someone who wasnât used to it, especially to someone grieving. Maybe she should take Wanda shopping, this way they could turn this cold room into something more like⌠home.
âI thoughtâŚâ Natasha paused, weighing her words. âI thought maybe youâd like some company. The nights here can be pretty lonely.â
âI-â Wanda blinked, surprised. âThank you, Natasha.âÂ
Natasha did her best to ignore how her heart raced or how her stomach fluttered at the way Wanda said her name, with that heavy accent of hers and those big, enchanting, green eyes that seemed to see through her soul.Â
âAre you hungry? I can make something for us or we can order anything.â Natasha said, desperately wanting to change her thoughts to something else.Â
âI didnât know you cook.âÂ
âI know my way around the kitchen.â Natasha shrugged, trying her best to avoid Wandaâs inquiring eyes and the little grin on her lips. âCâmon, letâs see if there is anything we can put together as a meal or if the boys already eat it all.â
They left the room in silence, and Nat was glad that Wanda simply agreed. She could feel Wandaâs eyes roaming around the place as they walked through the corridors down to the kitchen.Â
âOf course you would be here.â Natasha teased as she saw Sam in the kitchen.Â
âNat!â He smiled. âOh, hi!â He said to Wanda. âI donât think we were properly introduced. Iâm Sam.âÂ
âHi, Sam.â She shook his hand. âIâm Wanda.âÂ
âIâm sorry for your brother.âÂ
âThank you.âÂ
Natasha watched the exchange in silence, attentive to Wandaâs reaction. She knew it could be overwhelming but she also knew that Sam was one of the most easy going among them all. It was easy to feel relaxed around him.Â
âSo, is there anything to eat in this place or you and Steve have already finished everything?âÂ
âOuch.âÂ
Natasha smiled and started going through the cabinets and the fridge in search of something to eat. âHey, Wanda, how do you feel about mac and cheese?â She had no idea what Wanda liked but pretty much everyone she knew liked mac and cheese.Â
âI guess itâs okay.âÂ
Natasha looked over her shoulder and offered a small grin to Wanda.Â
âI love mac and cheese.â Sam said, stuffing another bite of sandwich in his mouth.Â
âArenât you already eating?âÂ
âI never say no to mac and cheese.âÂ
Natasha only shook her head and grabbed everything she would need to put the meal together. She could feel Wandaâs eyes on her, curious, grateful and confused at the same time. It was a weird connection that she felt towards Wanda, but it wasnât unpleasant.Â
âHey, Sam, can you put the table, please?âÂ
âCan I help?âÂ
âSure.â Nat smiled softly. âSam, please, show her where everything is.âÂ
Natasha watched them for a moment, and was grateful for how easy going Sam was. Maybe the fact that Wanda had not entered his mind was a plus for how good they were getting along but still.Â
"So when do we start training?" Sam asked as they ate.
"What training?" Wanda perked up.Â
âFury wants Steve and I to train you guys, but I asked him for a few days so you can settle.â Natasha said. âAlso you probably need new clothes and stuff.âÂ
âYeah, well, we destroyed my home to save the world, after all.âÂ
Natasha sighed. She could feel all the mixed emotions in Wandaâs voice, and the worst part is that she was right. Of course, she would take the same decision over and over, but still.Â
After they ate, Wanda helped them to clean everything and excused herself back to her room. Natasha watched as she disappeared through the halls, not sure what to do next. Should she go after Wanda and actually make her some company or it was better to leave her alone for a while?Â
âSo, I heard things were pretty rough for you guys there. Are you okay?âÂ
For a second Natasha nearly jumped, but then she remembered Sam was still in the kitchen.Â
âRough is an understatement but weâll be okay.âÂ
âShe can really enter our mindsâŚâ Sam gestured vaguely.Â
âYes, but I donât think sheâll do this again unless itâs really needed.â
âHow can you be so sure?â
âI donât know.â Natasha shrugged. âMaybe because I know what it is like to be in her position.â
âFair enough.â Sam nodded. âWell, you should get some rest as well.â
âI will.âÂ
(...)Â Â
Wanda closed the door behind her and let her body slide down to the ground. She pulled her legs up to her chest and let the tears she had been holding back finally fall down her face. Images of the last few hours played through her mind, over and over, as she tried to see what had gone wrong, how she could have let Pietro die, what she could have done, how she was all alone now; thrown into a country that wasn't hers, in a place surrounded by strangers. Strangers who she had hurt, in one way or another. Strangers who, despite having every right in the world, didn't seem angry with her.
Especially Natasha. She hadn't seen what memories it had awakened in her, when she entered her mind, but for some reason she didn't understand, Wanda could feel the weight of those memories, and she knew that it had affected Natasha deeply.Â
She wanted to apologize to Natasha for that, but she had no idea how to do it, and even less if it would be well received, even though Natasha had been nothing but kind to her since the walk to the compound. Wanda closed her eyes tightly and leaned her head against the door. Tears rolled down her face and sobs made their way to her throat, making her whole body shake.
In the space of just over twenty-four hours, she and Pietro went from villains to heroes, and that was how he died, but that was far from easing the pain, anger and sense of uselessness she felt at that moment. She couldn't even kill the person responsible for his death, since both Ultron and Strucker were already dead.
Wanda wished she could let her powers flow through her body, like she had done in the church, in Sokovia, but that wasn't possible here. She dug her nails into the fabric of the sweatpants, trying to control her powers and tried to focus her thoughts on something else, because she knew that if she kept thinking about Pietro she wouldn't be able to control her powers for much longer.
A flash of red hair and green eyes shone in her mind and then the memories of her brother were slowly being replaced by Natasha; the fight in the church was something that, despite the chaos of the moment, impressed Wanda, because unlike most of them Natasha didn't have special powers, nor special suits, she only relied on her skills, but that didn't make her less than them. She was relentless, precise, strong, and she still managed to be effortlessly attractive. Wanda opened her eyes, shocked by her own thoughts.
During all the years serving Hydra and with her mind focused on her revenge against Stark, Wanda never bothered to think about any kind of relationship, never even entertained the idea of ââgetting involved with anyone, because honestly, who could she get involved with? Certainly not the men of Hydra. And among the citizens of Sokovia there was no one who really sparked her interest to the point of making her deviate from her target, from her revenge, but for some reason, ever since she had laid eyes on Natasha, that idea seemed to always be in the back of her mind, waiting to come to the surface.
"Wanda?"Â
A soft knock on the door pulled her from her thoughts and she lifted her head, staring at the door.Â
"Wanda, is everything okay? Are you okay?"
"I- I'm fine." She swallowed hard at the sound of Natasha's voice. "Why?"
"Nothing, just checking."
Wanda narrowed her eyes and her thoughts began to race through her mind. Had Natasha somehow felt her powers almost going out of control? Or had it been something else? Wanda hoped it wasn't either of those options, but if it had to be either, she prayed it was the former. She sighed heavily and got up from the floor, running a hand through her hair before opening the door. "I'm okay, see?"
She felt a chill run down her spine at Natasha's piercing gaze, at how her eyes slowly studied her; her face, her body. She knew Natasha was looking for any reaction from her that would indicate the opposite of what she had said, and Wanda was aware that she wasn't very good at hiding her feelings, but after a moment Natasha just nodded and her expression relaxed, giving way to a soft smile.
"Very well."
"Do you want to come in?" Wanda found herself saying.
Wanda felt her heart race when Natasha just arched her eyebrows and smiled, entering her room without saying anything. She waited, fidgeting with the hem of the t-shirt she was wearing, while Natasha also seemed to be searching for words. From what little she had seen of Natasha, she seemed confident and determined, but standing there in the middle of her room with her arms crossed over her chest and biting her lip, Wanda realized there was much more beneath her tough surface.
"I was thinking we could go shopping tomorrow," Natasha said after a while. "Buy clothes and shoes and whatever else you need."
"Sure, I guess."
"Great, we'll leave after breakfast then."
Natasha smiled, and even though it was a genuine smile, Wanda could tell she was nervous.
"Okay."
"I'll be going then." Natasha gestured vaguely.
"Sleep well, Natasha."
"You too, Wanda." She stopped at the door and looked over her shoulder. "If you need anything, just knock on my door."
"Thanks."
As soon as the door closed behind Natasha, Wanda walked to the window and sat on the edge. The large glass window offered a breathtaking view of the compound and the vast greenery around it. She had no idea where the place was, but the view offered a certain calm to her turbulent thoughts, even more so after Natasha's visit.
Wanda couldn't quite understand why they, especially Natasha, were being nice to her after everything that had happened. Sure, Clint had said that from the moment she walked out that door she would become one of them, an Avenger, but she wasn't sure if everyone agreed with that. Especially Tony or Bruce, who happened to be missing. Possibly because of what she had done to his mind. She had seen the destruction the Hulk had caused, and it had been her fault, Wanda was fully aware of that. She knew he hated her, and if she was honest with herself, she expected that feeling from all of them, especially Tony and Natasha, who after Bruce, seemed to have been the most affected by her powers.
But since she had stepped onto the S.H.I.E.L.D. ship, Natasha had been nothing but kind to her, staying by her side and offering silent comfort as she cried over Pietro's body. Wanda felt the hot tears running down her cheeks again and decided that maybe it would be best to try to sleep, to get some rest. The day had been too long and she was too confused and tired to really think about anything. She just wanted to let herself be swallowed up by the pain of her brother's death.
(...)
Natasha stretched, every part of her body aching from the recent battles they had fought. Fighting against super sophisticated robots sucked. She groaned and sat up in bed, reaching for the bedside table in search of some pain medication. After taking the medication, Natasha got up and headed to the bathroom. A hot, relaxing shower would help.
As the hot water jet relaxed her muscles, Natasha thought about the day ahead; breakfast, then taking Wanda shopping and taking the opportunity to grab something to eat. After that she really didn't know what to do, as they had nothing planned for the next few days since everyone agreed that both Wanda and them needed a break.
Maybe she should take the opportunity to show Wanda some sights? But what exactly if Natasha didn't even know what she liked? She shook her head and focused on finishing the shower before the hot water ran out.
"Good morning, boys." Natasha said as she entered the kitchen and came face to face with Steve and Sam.
"Good morning, Nat." They smiled broadly.
"Steve made breakfast."
"Then I better grab something to eat on the way." Natasha joked, accepting the plate of eggs and bacon that Sam was pushing toward her. "Did Wanda come down for breakfast yet?"
"I'm here."
Natasha turned around, smiling broadly at the sound of Wanda's voice. "Hey." She took the plate that Sam had slid toward her and handed it to Wanda.
"Are you guys going somewhere?" Steve asked, looking between the two of them.
"I'm taking Wanda shopping, she needs clothes, girly stuff. You wouldn't understand."
"Oh, okay." Sam and Steve answered together and they laughed at their expressions of slight panic and embarrassment.
After breakfast, Wanda and Natasha went up to their rooms to get ready and met in the living room.
Natasha led them to the compound's vast garage and went straight to her favorite Corvette Stingray.
"Wow, that's-"
She turned with a mischievous smile at Wanda's surprised tone.
"You haven't seen anything yet, get in." Natasha winked and got in the driver's side.
Natasha sped up, showing off a little and laughing at Wanda's expression. They left the compound towards the city and in a short time they were in downtown New York. She knew the crowds there could be overwhelming, but it was also good for distracting, especially in Wanda's state. Natasha drove the car to a neighborhood that concentrated most of the stores with clothes in the style she thought Wanda would like, because from the little she had the chance to observe her, Natasha doubted she cared about designer labels and renowned brands.
She was pleased to see that she was right about that, and before long the two of them were carrying enough bags that they had to make a trip to the car. At first Wanda was reluctant to accept Natasha paying for everything, but with some talking she managed to convince Wanda.
"I don't know about you, but I'm starving." Natasha said as they loaded the last few bags into the car.
"I never knew shopping could make you so hungry."
"Right?" Natasha smiled. "Come on, let's get something to eat."
(...)
When they arrived back at the compound, they went straight to Wanda's room.
"So, did you have fun today?"
Natasha asked as she placed the bags next to her bed, and despite her tiredness, Wanda definitely felt a little lighter. Natasha's company was better than she could have imagined.
"I had a lot of fun today. Thank you, Natasha."
"You're welcome."
Natasha winked playfully, or rather tried to, which caused Wanda to smile softly.
"I really mean it."
"I know."
Natasha's expression changed from playful to more serious, but it was still gentle and soft. Wanda felt her heart race at the understanding she saw in Natasha's gaze, and she really couldn't comprehend how that was possible.
"Hey, talk to me."Â
Wanda felt like a thousand butterflies were flying inside her when Natasha took a step towards her and placed a hand on her shoulder. Her voice was soft and concerned, as was her gaze, and it left Wanda dizzy.Â
"I- I just- I don't understand why you, of all people, have been so kind to me."Â
Natasha smiled, and shook her head slightly. Her red hair falling slightly into her eyes. "Remember what Clint told you? It doesn't matter what you did, or who you were."Â
"Still." Wanda held her gaze. "I haven't seen the things I put you through, but I could feel the weight of the visions I caused you and it's overwhelming."Â
"You're right, it is overwhelming, but I've dealt with it once and I'll deal with it again." Natasha said gently. "My past is ugly and red, for the most part, but I got a second chance when I met Clint. And although your powers have brought up memories I would rather have remained buried deep inside, I refuse to let it dominate me."Â
Wanda wanted to ask, wanted to know about Natasha's past, the good and the bad. For some reason she didn't yet understand, she wanted to know every piece of that mysterious woman, but she knew it wasn't the time, and that if Natasha wanted, she would share of her own free will.
Natasha was so strong, so resilient. Wanda wanted to be a little like her, but most of the time she felt like she was drowning.
"How do you do it?" Wanda asked, her lips trembling slightly.
"How do I do what?" Natasha frowned.
"How do you stay so strong?"
Natasha chuckled and shook her head. "Do you think I'm strong?" Gently she took Wanda's hand and guided her to the edge of the bed. "I'm far from strong, but there are specific people I choose to show my vulnerability to."
Wanda nodded absently, too overwhelmed by all the things she was feeling at that moment. "Still, it's more than I can be right now," She said after a moment. "I feel like this wave washes over me, again and again. It knocks me down, and when I try to stand up, it just comes for me again and itâs just gonna drown me."
"Grief is a day-to-day process," Natasha said gently. "It's something that lasts a lifetime, I think."Â
Wanda noticed Natasha's gaze grow distant, and she wondered who she had lost.Â
"Grief, the worst of it, hits us when we least expect it. At first, we think that the loss of the person we love is something that will crush us, that pain in our chest, the feeling of numbness, the lack of will to do anything, but then all of that starts to become less and less and we move on with life. Until one day, something simple brings it all back, a thousand times worse."Â
Natasha used the back of her free hand to wipe away the tears that threatened to fall, and Wanda wished she could do it for her.Â
"The worst part of grief, of missing the person, is not the beginning. It's one day when you're doing something and you think 'he would like that.' or you see something on TV, hear a song, or anything really, and you immediately think of that person, you want to share it with them and they're not there. It never gets easier, but at least for me, grief comes from a place of love. It's a love that endures."
"You lost someone."Â
Wanda found herself saying. It wasn't a question, it was a statement, and Natasha looked at her for a moment before nodding.Â
"I know how you feel, and that's why I want you to know that you're not alone, okay?"Â
Wanda knew Natasha wouldn't go into details now, after all, they barely knew each other. She had been incredibly kind, but Wanda knew there were limits for now. And she was okay with that.Â
"Thank you, Natasha."Â
"Anytime."Â
(...)
As the days went by, things started to fall into place and return to a sense of normalcy. The new members' training began, and it was going better than Steve or Natasha had expected.
At first, Wanda had a little difficulty with the physical part of the training, the hours in the gym doing exercises and physical fights - usually with Natasha - but in a few weeks she got the hang of it.
Little by little they started doing some simple missions to see how the new members were performing, how they controlled their abilities and everything else, and both Sam and Wanda were doing very well.
Tony hardly showed up at the compound, which was a relief for Wanda. Natasha taught her how to drive, in addition to the Avenger training, but she still didn't feel comfortable driving around.
Thanksgiving was celebrated simply, just Wanda, Natasha, and Steve at the compound, although Clint had insisted that they go to the farm. Sam had spent the holiday with his sister and nephews.
The week before Christmas, Natasha finally gave in to Clint's insistence and agreed to go to the farm. She had convinced Wanda to go with her, also at Clint's insistence, and since he didn't want her to be alone at the compound.
They stopped in town to buy Christmas presents for the Bartons and from there they left for the farm.
"Are you sure it's okay for me to spend Christmas with you guys?" Wanda asked again.
Nat smiled, glancing sideways at her, not really taking her eyes off the road. She could feel the nervousness rolling off Wanda in waves.
"Yeah, I'm sure. Yeah, Clint's sure too."
"Okay." Wanda said absently, fiddling with the hem of her sweatshirt.
When Natasha parked near the main house, she barely had time to unbuckle her seatbelt before Lila was already running toward her, her small feet kicking up dirt and snow on the gravel path.
"Auntie Nat!"Â
Without hesitation, Natasha swung open the door and stepped out, instantly lifting the little girl into her arms. Lila's small body melted against her, and Natasha couldn't help but smile, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "Ouch, you've gotten big, kiddo."
Lila giggled and wrapped her arms around Natashaâs neck, her cheek against Natasha's.Â
Natasha glanced over her shoulder at Wanda, who was still standing on the other side of the car, a little more reserved but watching them with a quiet smile. Natasha gave a subtle nod, inviting her closer.Â
"Lila, this is my friend Wanda," Natasha said gently, keeping her hold on the girl. "Say 'hi' to Wanda."
Lila pulled back slightly, giving Wanda a curious look before offering a shy but warm smile. "Hi."
The greeting was simple, but there was an undeniable softness in Lilaâs voice, like she instinctively knew Wanda was someone safe.Â
"Hi, Lila."Â
There was something almost maternal in the way she spoke to the little girl, a tenderness Natasha hadnât quite expected, but welcomed.
Before Natasha could say anything else, Lila tucked her face into her neck, her small arms tightening around her.Â
Natasha laughed quietly, and just then, a familiar voice broke through the moment. "Well, look who decided to show up!"
Natasha turned, smiling brightly at the sight of Laura standing on the porch with little Nathaniel in her arms, his eyes wide and curious as he stared at the newcomers.Â
"Hey, Laura," Natasha grinned, shifting Lila just slightly so she could wave.
Lauraâs grin was warm, and her eyes were sparking with amusement. "I was starting to think you'd forgotten the way out here."
"Never," Natasha replied, her smile softening as she looked at the family she'd come to care for so much.Â
They approached the porch and Natasha set Lila down. Laura sent the little girl to get Clint and Cooper, who were in the barn tinkering with the old tractor.
Natasha wagged her fingers at Nathaniel, who immediately reached forward.
"Oh, look at you, all soft with kids. Who would have thought," Wanda said, but there was no malice in her voice, just genuine surprise.
Natasha felt her cheeks immediately flush. Even though she and Wanda had grown quite close since the events in Sokovia, this was the first time she had seen her outside the compound, so carefree and somehow vulnerable.
Natasha had told Wanda bits and pieces about her bond with Clintâs family, about the kids, but this was the first time Wanda had witnessed it firsthand. The surprise was there, quiet but clear.
"Oh, Nat here is such a softie," Laura teased.
Natasha lifted her head slightly, her eyes narrowing as she shot Laura a look. "Traitor," she muttered under her breath.
Laura just grinned, clearly enjoying the moment. "What? It's true."
Natasha rolled her eyes, but the corners of her mouth curled up despite herself. Sheâd always tried to keep her distance, maintain the tough exterior, but the Bartonâs were more her family than she would ever admit out loud because saying it out loud would make it real and she couldnât afford to lose another family.Â
Natasha met Wandaâs gaze, and held it for a moment. The way Wanda was looking at her made her feel things she never thought possible. Not with her past. She heard Lilaâs and Cooper laughter as they approached them and this seemed to break the moment between them.Â
âI have my moments,â Natasha said with a small, playful smile.
"Nat! Wanda!"
Clint's voice made them turn and Natasha smiled widely. His eyes were shining with mischief and he glanced between her and Wanda with raised eyebrows and a knowing smirk. She narrowed her eyes at him, but Clint didn't even flinch.
"I'm glad you decided to join us." He hugged her tightly, and then hugged Wanda. "Let's go inside, it's getting cold fast."
Natasha smiled, feeling her heart warm at the ease of Clint's relationship with Wanda. It was as if he had taken on the role of big brother, mentor, or whatever it was he did, and it worked well. She noticed how the tension was slowly leaving Wanda's shoulders.
The inside of the house was warm and inviting; the fireplace was lit and there were a few toys scattered on the floor, papers and crayons spread out on the coffee table, a bottle, a baby blanket, and some half-eaten gingerbread cookies on a plate.
As they stepped inside, the warmth of the Bartonâs home wrapped around Natasha and Wanda, bringing with it the scent of wood smoke, fresh pine, and something cinnamon-sweet baking in the kitchen. Wanda glanced around, a quiet curiosity softening her usual guarded expression. It was a side of her Natasha rarely saw; calm, open, almost like she was letting her guard down bit by bit.
Natasha caught her gaze lingering on the family photos lining the walls. Each picture told a story: Clint and Laura on their wedding day, Clint and Cooper covered in mud from some backyard project, Lila in a princess dress with a bright, toothy smile. Natasha nudged Wanda gently, pulling her out of her trance.Â
âWelcome to the chaos,â Natasha murmured with a soft smirk.
Wandaâs lips curved into a smile, her eyes still tracing over the photographs. âItâsâŚnice. Feels like home.â
Before Natasha could say anything, Clint reappeared with Cooper and Lila racing behind him, already caught up in some sibling rivalry and ran towards the kitchen, returning a second later. Cooper was carrying two mugs of hot chocolate, which Natasha was pretty sure Laura had spiked with vodka or whiskey.Â
"Mom said to give them to you guys, it'll help ward off the cold."
"She said, huh?" Natasha accepted the mugs and handed one to Wanda.
She ruffled Cooper's hair and he clung to her, wrapping his arms around her waist. Natasha's smile softened and widened, and her gaze met Laura's over the boy's head. "Thanks." She lifted the mug slightly to Laura, who did the same from the kitchen.
Cooper beamed, his cheeks flushing slightly. Lila, never one to be outdone, immediately tugged at Natashaâs sleeve. âAuntie Nat, we made cookies for you!â She pointed proudly toward the kitchen, where Laura was pulling a fresh tray from the oven, the scent filling the entire room.
âOh, you did, huh?â Lila nodded enthusiastically, running back into the kitchen and rocking back on her heels as Laura placed the cookies on a plate.
Clint appeared beside them, smiling proudly as he watched his children. He looked from Natasha to Wanda and smirked.Â
âThink you can handle that, Maximoff?â
Natasha snorted, a rare, carefree sound that seemed to make Wandaâs eyes brighten with curiosity, as if she wanted to hear it again and it made her heart skip some beats. Clint took that as his cue to clap his hands and rally everyone.Â
"Alright, alright, movie time! We need your votes: are we going classic Christmas, or one of those superhero movies Cooper keeps insisting are 'totally holiday-appropriate'?"
Natasha laughed, shaking her head. "Classic, definitely. I think we've all seen enough superheroes for now." There was a flicker of amusement on Wanda's face, something Natasha rarely saw.
The group made their way to the living room, where Laura had already transformed the space with blankets and pillows spread across couches and the floor. Lila made a beeline for Natasha, curling up beside her and resting her head on Natasha's shoulder as they settled in. Meanwhile, Cooper took the seat next to Wanda, stealing occasional glances her way as if she were something magical and rare and Natasha couldn't help but smile.Â
Once the movie started, the room grew quiet, the atmosphere softened by the flickering firelight and the comforting sounds of popcorn crunching. Wanda, sitting beside Natasha, seemed to lose some of her usual guarded tension, taking in the warmth of the room and this feeling of belonging that wrapped around them. Natasha felt Wandaâs shoulder brush hers lightly, the simple touch filling the space with an unexpected sense of peace that lingered between them as they watched the screen together.
(...)
The morning broke crisp and bright, sunlight gleaming off the fresh layer of snow that blanketed the Barton farm. Natasha was savoring her first sip of coffee when Lila and Cooper burst into the kitchen, voices ringing with excitement.
"Auntie Nat! Wanda! It snowed!" Lila squealed, her eyes wide with delight.
Natasha barely had a chance to respond before Cooper tugged on her sleeve. "You have to come out with us! It's perfect for sledding, or snowball fights, or building snow forts!"
Natasha opened her mouth, but Lila had already grabbed Wanda's hand, pulling her toward the door. "You can't say no. It's a rule!"Â
Wanda cast a helpless, amused glance at Natasha, wrapped up in Lila's enthusiasm. Natasha rolled her eyes, smothering a smile. "Alright, alright. Just bundle up. It's freezing out there."
Soon enough, they were trudging through the snow, boots crunching over the fresh powder as Cooper and Lila ran ahead, their laughter echoing across the fields. Natasha watched them, taking in the simple joy on their faces as they dashed ahead, caught up in the magic of the snowy morning.
Cooper sprinted ahead, immediately scooping up snow and forming snowballs in his gloved hands, while Wanda knelt down to help Lila pack the snow. Natasha noticed the way Wanda's face softened, absorbed in the task, her gloved fingers shaping smooth snowballs with surprising concentration. It wasn't often that Wanda allowed herself to let go like this, and Natasha couldnât help but smile as she watched her friend so fully in the moment, mirroring Lila's delight.
"Nat!" Cooper called, pulling her from her thoughts.Â
His mischievous grin was a warning she caught just a second too late as a snowball flew through the air, hitting her square on the shoulder. Shaking her head with a chuckle, Natasha crouched down to form her own snowball.
"Oh, you're in for it now, Barton!" she called, tossing a snowball that landed perfectly on Cooper's back. He laughed, dodging behind a tree for cover, the game fully underway.
Natasha caught a glimpse of Wanda watching them, her eyes bright as she observed Natasha's rare carefree moment with the kids. Wanda's gaze held something soft and warm, an expression that Natasha couldn't help but feel a hint of pride in causing.
A small tug on her sleeve brought Natasha's focus to Lila, whose hands were attempting to form a snowball, her face lit up with mischief. Natasha smirked, joining in the playful plotting as she began packing another snowball, catching sight of Wanda doing the same.Â
Natasha's gaze sharpened the moment she noticed Wanda's smirk and the playful glint in her eye. Wanda narrowed her focus on Natasha, packing the snowball deliberately, and a thrill ran through Natasha, settling as a faint, unexpected chill down her spine. Her usual poise wavered, replaced by a surprising spark of anticipation at Wanda's challenge.
"Don't even think about it, Maximoff," Natasha warned, raising an eyebrow and taking a cautious step back, though she found herself almost wanting Wanda to ignore the warning.
"Oh, I'm thinking about it," Wanda replied, her smirk deepening.Â
Before Natasha could fully prepare, the snowball was already flying toward her, hitting her shoulder in a burst of cold powder that scattered through the air. Natasha laughed, a touch breathless, her heart pounding with the exhilaration of the moment.
For a second, she caught Wanda's gaze and felt her stomach flip. The teasing glint in her eyes felt like something more, something that Natasha didn't often feel; the thrill of letting her guard down, of giving in with someone she trusted.
Natasha laughed, and before Wanda could blink, she scooped up her own handful of snow, sending it flying in a perfect arc that landed squarely on Wanda's chest.Â
Wanda's laughter rang out across the open field, a sound so pure and unrestrained that Natasha felt herself pause, caught up in the warmth of it. A smile crept onto her face as she watched Wanda, taking in the sparkle of her eyes and the rare openness of her expression.
"Is that all you've got, Romanoff?" Wanda challenged, shaking the snow from her jacket and stepping closer, her eyes gleaming with excitement.
Natasha grinned, feeling her competitive side flare. "You really don't want to start a snow war with a spy."
"Oh?" Wanda arched an eyebrow, her smile widening, clearly calling Natasha's bluff.Â
That spark of challenge between them sent a thrill through Natasha, and she barely had time to react before they were fully immersed in a whirlwind of snowballs, laughter, and scrambling feet as they dodged and ducked around trees and snow piles.Â
Lila and Cooper joined in, adding to the chaos, and Natasha found herself caught off-guard more than once by their surprisingly accurate snow missiles. Somewhere in the madness, Cooper slipped, tumbling into the snow and sending Natasha down with him in a playful heap. She barely had time to process it before Wanda rushed over, laughter bubbling up as she offered her hand to Natasha only for Natasha to grin mischievously and pull Wanda down beside her, both of them collapsing into the snow with laughter echoing around them.
After a while, breathless and cheeks tinged pink from the cold, they lay back in the snow, gazing up at the pale blue sky as they caught their breath. Natasha listened to the sound of Wanda's breathing beside her, feeling strangely at ease. She glanced over, taking in the peaceful expression on Wanda's face, her closed eyes and faint smile.
"I think they wore us out," Natasha murmured, an amused warmth in her voice.
Wanda's smile grew, her eyes still closed. "I think I'll let them take the blame," she replied softly, her voice carrying a note of contentment that Natasha couldn't remember hearing before.
Lila and Cooper shared a victorious grin, scrambling to their feet and running toward the house with eager cries of "Hot chocolate time!" Lila shot, already halfway to the door.
As Natasha and Wanda got up, brushing the snow from their coats, Natasha noticed the way Wanda's gaze lingered on her, her eyes shining with a rare, easy happiness. She looked back at Wanda, feeling a strange but undeniable closeness.
"Thanks for indulging them," Natasha said, her voice warm and genuine. "It's been⌠nice, seeing you like this."
Wanda's smile softened, her eyes meeting Natasha's for a long moment. "I think it's been nice for me, too."
They walked back to the house together, snow clinging to their coats and boots, the quiet warmth of the moment stretching between them.
As they stepped into the living room, Laura took one look at them and shook her head with a knowing smile. "Alright, go take a hot shower and change your clothes. All of you," she added, giving both Natasha and Wanda a firm look.
They followed the kids upstairs, exchanging a bemused glance as they headed to freshen up. By the time they gathered in the kitchen, Laura had laid out steaming mugs of hot cocoa with fluffy marshmallows on top, the room warmed by the crackling fire.
As the afternoon slipped into evening, Clint suggested a round of Christmas movies, and soon the living room was bathed in the soft glow of twinkling lights and the warm flicker of the fire. Natasha settled in, feeling Wanda close beside her, sharing this quiet, festive peace as the day faded into a cozy night.
(...)
Wanda settled in next to Natasha on the couch, her side pressed warmly against Natasha's. Cooper snuggled up on Natasha's other side, while Lila, still a bit drowsy from the day's excitement, climbed onto Natasha's lap, wrapping herself up in her arms with a soft yawn. Wanda watched, her gaze softening at the sight. There was a gentleness in Natasha's movements, a tenderness Wanda rarely saw so openly, one that seemed to emerge only with this family.Â
On the other couch, Laura and Clint shared a quiet moment, with the baby nestled between them. Wanda's attention, however, remained fixed on Natasha. She felt something warm and deeply tender as she watched Natasha gently run her hand through Lila's hair, soothing her with a care that felt uncharacteristic but entirely genuine. It was as if each touch allowed Natasha to step into a peace that Wanda knew was rarely hers.Â
After a moment, Wanda leaned closer, her voice a soft murmur. "Youâre good with her, you know."
Natasha glanced over, caught off guard but pleased by the comment. "I guess she brings out a different side of me."
Wanda smiled, her expression gentle. "I think it's just you. The real you."
Natasha didn't respond with words, but the way her eyes held Wandaâs gaze for an extra beat was more than enough. It was a vulnerable silence that said everything, and when Natasha finally looked away, Wanda felt a pang of both gratitude and sadness. She realized how much Natasha kept hidden, even from herself.
As the movie played, Wanda's attention drifted, returning again and again to the sight of Natasha with Lila asleep in her lap. She saw something rare there, a quiet hope in Natasha's eyes, a contentment that was so precious it took Wanda's breath away. Wanda's heart raced as unexpected thoughts of a family - a real, lasting family - entered her mind, not just for herself, but with Natasha.
Her chest tightened as she remembered a night at the compound, sitting out on the lawn with Natasha under the stars. Natasha had shared parts of herself that night, things Wanda hadn't known before. Stories of her childhood, of Yelena, her younger sister, who she hadn't seen in years; of a song that haunted her because of what it reminded her of; and of the cruelty of the Red Room that had stolen her chance to ever have biological children. Wanda knew she could never erase those scars or the memories Natasha carried. But she wished, with everything in her, that she could show Natasha that it was still possible to have a family - that maybe, together, they could build one.
(...)Â
The next morning, Natasha was jolted awake by a small whirlwind named Lila, who came barreling into the room she was sharing with Wanda, flinging herself right onto Natashaâs bed.
âOuch,â Natasha groaned, her voice still thick with sleep. She wrapped an arm around Lila, pulling her down beside her. âToo early, kiddo.â
âAuntie Nat, weâre going to make gingerbread houses!â Lilaâs excitement was infectious, and her eyes sparkled with it.
âOh, God.â Natasha muttered, suddenly recalling all of Clintâs endless Christmas traditions. She had almost forgotten how many they packed into the days before Christmas.
âCome on, Auntie Nat. Mommyâs waiting!â Lila urged, tugging at her arm insistently.
Natasha sighed and finally blinked her eyes open, realizing there was no way sheâd be able to coax a few more minutes of sleep. âAlright, alright. Letâs go.â She pressed a quick kiss to Lilaâs forehead before reluctantly getting out of bed and heading to the bathroom to wash up.
When she emerged, she noticed Lila had now cozied up in Wandaâs bed, eagerly chatting to her about gingerbread houses. Wandaâs gaze met Natashaâs, warm and amused, and Natasha offered a sheepish smile in return.
âGood morning, Nat,â Wanda greeted as she stood up and made her way to the bathroom.
âMorning.â Natasha felt her cheeks warm slightly. âSorry about the... wake-up call,â she said, nodding toward Lila, who was watching them with open curiosity.
Wanda smiled, shrugging off the apology. âNo problem.â
âAuntie Nat, come on!â Lila tugged insistently, and Natasha allowed herself to be pulled down the stairs toward the kitchen.
Once there, Laura greeted her with a guilty smile. âI swear I tried to hold her off for another hour.â
âNah, itâs fine,â Natasha assured her, stifling a yawn as she adjusted to the early hour.
âHere.â Clint appeared at her side, handing her a mug of steaming coffee. âWhereâs Wanda? Still sleeping?â
âAs if that was an option,â Natasha laughed, taking a grateful sip. She felt herself starting to wake up with each sip of the hot coffee.
A few minutes later, Wanda joined them, looking just as cozy and a little more awake. Natasha quickly poured her a mug of coffee, handing it to her with a smile. The kitchen was soon alive with the clattering of dishes and the laughter of kids, as they gathered the supplies to start their gingerbread creations.
While everyone else was busy assembling pieces and attempting not to eat half of the icing, Clint took charge of breakfast. The warm aroma of eggs, bacon, and pancakes mingled with the rich smell of coffee and fresh juice, filling the kitchen with a cozy warmth.
âAlright, construction break for breakfast!â Clint called, setting plates down and wiping his hands on a dish towel.
The kids practically inhaled the food, barely pausing to chew as they wolfed down their breakfast, eager to get back to their creations. Natasha exchanged an amused look with Laura as Clint went about clearing the table, and Laura quickly reset the gingerbread supplies so the kids could dive back in.
Natasha couldnât help but glance at Wanda over the top of her coffee mug, catching her eye with a soft smile. It felt good to be here, in this warm little chaos, sharing these small moments - moments that felt almost like they belonged to a family. And as Wanda smiled back, Natasha felt a warmth that went deeper than the coffee she was holding.
Natasha and Wanda joined Laura and the kids at the table, where bowls of vibrant icing and candy decorations waited to be used. Natasha settled into the task, carefully piping a line of frosting along a gingerbread wall, but her attention kept drifting to Wanda, who was completely absorbed in her work. Wanda's brows furrowed in concentration as she placed gumdrops in precise rows, oblivious to everything else.
A small smirk tugged at Natashaâs lips. âYouâre really into this,â she murmured, leaning in just enough to tease.
Wanda looked up, her cheeks instantly flushing, and Natasha's smirk softened into a grin.
After a while, the table became a delightful mess of scattered sugar, crumbs, and half-eaten gumdrops. Flour hung in the air like a soft cloud as the kidsâ laughter echoed through the room. Lila proudly held up her sticky, icing-coated fingers, grinning from ear to ear. âLook, Auntie Nat! I made a mess!â
Natasha chuckled, gently ruffling Lilaâs hair. âThatâs the best part of it, kiddo.â
Lauraâs laughter caught Natashaâs attention, and she glanced over, confused, only to see Laura motioning toward her own cheek. âNat, youâve got a little somethingâŚâ Laura gestured vaguely at her own face.
Before Natasha could react, Wanda noticed it too and reached over instinctively, her thumb brushing softly against Natasha's cheek as she wiped the flour away. The touch lingered a second longer than necessary, and Natasha found herself frozen, her eyes meeting Wandaâs. Her gaze drifted to Wanda's lips, and for a moment, her breath stilled as they both seemed to forget the world around them.
âUh⌠there,â Wanda murmured, her voice barely a whisper, her cheeks flushing as she finally pulled her hand away.
Just then, a shriek of laughter brought them back to reality. Natasha turned to see that Cooper and Lila had somehow managed to shower each other with a handful of flour, their hair now dusted white. Natasha let out a soft laugh, glancing back at Wanda with an amused smirk. âLooks like weâre going to have to clean up after these two troublemakers.â
âOh, no, you two,â Laura cut in, her own laugh barely contained. âClint, take your kids to the bath now. Theyâre done here.â
âOh, so when theyâre covered in flour, theyâre my kids?â Clint shot back, shaking his head.
âMom, we promise to behave!â Cooper added, pulling his best puppy-dog eyes.
Natasha chuckled as Laura shot her a knowing look. âI wonder who he learned that from,â Laura teased, aiming a pointed look at Natasha. âAlright, but if thereâs one more mess, itâs over for both of you.â
Cooper and Lila exchanged triumphant high-fives and went back to decorating their gingerbread houses with renewed focus.
Laura shook her head, glancing at Clint. âClint, dear, can you give Nathaniel his bottle?â
âOn it.â He wiped his hands on his apron, going off to prepare the bottle.
The warmth of the moment lingered as they all continued decorating, laughter filling the air along with the sweet scent of gingerbread. Natasha couldnât help but steal glances at Wanda every now and then, her heart softening at the way Wandaâs face lit up with laughter around the kids. For the first time in what felt like ages, Natasha felt⌠at peace. Something about this felt wonderfully right, and she couldnât shake the quiet hope that maybe, just maybe, she could belong have this too.
(...)
The rest of the day was peaceful, Cooper went to help Clint work on the tractor so he wouldn't end up getting into trouble because of the cold while Wanda and Natasha were dragged to the living room by Lila.
The little girl handed them some sheets of paper, colored pencils and crayons and with a pointed look indicated that they should sit next to her to draw.
Laura joined them soon after, gently rocking Nathaniel to sleep.
The hours passed quickly and in the early evening they sat at the table for dinner. Then, as in the previous days, they gathered in the living room for another classic Christmas movie.
Clint helped Laura carry the bowls of popcorn, mugs of hot chocolate and cider into the living room while Natasha and Wanda helped Lila and Cooper get the room just the way they liked it.
Cooper slurped his hot cocoa loudly, prompting a chorus of giggles from Lila and a roll of Clint's eyes. "Seriously, kid, where are your manners?"
"I learned them from you," Cooper shot back with a grin.
Wanda chuckled, her eyes meeting Natasha's for a second. She felt her heart race and her stomach felt like as if there was butterflies inside. She hadn't realized just how much she missed this feeling; being part of something whole, something good. She was so lost in thought that she nearly missed it when Natasha squeezed her hand, the smallest reassurance, and her eyes met Natasha's, catching that familiar glint of mischief in her gaze.
"Want to help me with a refill?" Natasha whispered, giving Wanda's hand a gentle tug as she rose.
"Sure." Wanda followed her into the kitchen, away from the cozy chaos of the living room.Â
Once they were out of earshot, Natasha leaned against the counter, arms crossed. "Are you okay? I thought you were a little overwhelmed just now." She said, her eyes studying Wanda with concern.
"I'm fine, Nat. Thanks for caring tho."
"Really? We can call it a night and go to the bedroom if you want."
"I do feel overwhelmed sometimes, yes, but in a... good way, I guess."
"Okay, let me know if you change your mind, okay?"
"Alright."Â
Natasha held Wanda's gaze for longer than necessary.
"Is it weird that I never expected you to be soâŚ" Wanda searched for the right word, one that would capture the side of Natasha she'd been witnessing those past days; soft, unguarded, even playful.
"Human?" Natasha offered, her smile crooked, playful but with an edge of vulnerability.
"Real," Wanda corrected softly. "I mean, ever since I arrived at the compound you've been amazing to me, always around, worried about me, and you've shared more things with me than I ever thought possible, but at the same time you've always remained a little distant, reserved. Itâs nice to see this side of you."
Natasha felt her smirk dissolve into something softer, her expression turning reflective as she glanced down, weighing her words. âI didnât think youâd want to see this side of me.â Her voice was uncharacteristically quiet, a hint of uncertainty in it, as if she wasnât used to admitting something so vulnerable aloud.
Wanda took a small step closer, and Natasha noticed the way her gaze softened, her own walls beginning to crumble. âActually,â Wanda murmured, her voice steady yet gentle, âI think this is exactly what I needed to see.â
Natasha held Wandaâs gaze, feeling a tangible connection that had simmered for too long, something raw and undeniable surfacing between them. Away from missions and façades, it felt real here. For once, there was no armor, just them. The sounds of laughter drifting in from the living room barely registered in her mind; she wasnât ready to let go of this moment yet.
She let out a soft laugh, one that felt vulnerable even to her own ears. âThis might sound ridiculous, but⌠thanks for being here. I didnât know if youâd actually come.â
âI almost didnât,â Wanda admitted, her voice just above a whisper, an honest softness in her eyes. âBut Iâm glad I did.â
They stood there in the silence that followed, Natasha unable to resist lifting her hand to brush a loose strand of hair behind Wandaâs ear. The gesture was gentle, lingering in a way she hadnât anticipated, as if savoring the tenderness of the moment. Her pulse raced at the touch, especially when Wandaâs eyes widened slightly, and Natasha felt a warmth spreading in her chest that had nothing to do with the cider.
But the spell was broken when the kitchen door swung open, and Clint waltzed in, oblivious to the tension heâd interrupted. âHey, you two, youâre missing the best part! Santaâs about to-â He stopped mid-sentence, glancing between them and scratching his chin. âAm I⌠interrupting something?â
Natasha cleared her throat, quickly dropping her hand, her laugh coming out just a bit too casual. âNope, just⌠catching up.â
Wanda looked away, her cheeks flushed, clearly trying to hide the faint blush creeping up. Clint just grinned, his eyes twinkling with mischief. âAlright, then. Donât take too long; weâve got more popcorn waiting.â With a wink, he disappeared back into the living room.
Natasha huffed, shaking her head as she muttered, âHeâs like a big kid sometimes.â
They filled their mugs with fresh cider and made their way back to the others. When they settled back onto the couch, Natasha found herself instinctively draping her arm over the back of the couch, her hand resting just behind Wandaâs shouldersâa gesture that felt casual, but in truth held an unspoken promise of protectiveness. Wanda leaned back slightly, just close enough that Natasha could feel her warmth, her pulse quickening at the sensation, and for once, Natasha let herself enjoy the comfort of their closeness.
As the movie drew to a close, Natasha watched as Laura smoothly began herding the kids toward bed, Lila putting up a sleepy protest. Natasha leaned down, brushing a gentle kiss on Lilaâs forehead and speaking softly, âIâll be here in the morning, okay? Go get some sleep.â
Once the kids were tucked in, Clint and Laura returned to the living room with the kind of satisfied sighs that come with a quiet, winding-down evening. The room had dimmed, leaving only the soft golden glow of the fire casting shadows across their faces.
âHowâs training been, Wanda?â Laura asked, curiosity evident in her tone as she wrapped her hands around her mug. âNatâs been saying youâre really getting the hang of things.â
Natasha felt warmth in her chest as Wanda glanced over at her, a little shy, as though gauging her reaction. âItâs⌠intense, but in a good way, I think,â Wanda replied thoughtfully. âIâm learning more about focus, and itâs been helping a lot.â
Natasha couldnât hold back, giving Wandaâs shoulder an encouraging squeeze. âSheâs being modest,â she chimed in, pride evident in her voice. âYouâve come a long way. Pretty soon, youâll have Rogers eating your dust.â
Clint raised an eyebrow, looking impressed. âReally? Thatâs high praise coming from Romanoff.â He nodded at Wanda, a grin tugging at the corners of his mouth. âGuess youâre tougher than you look, huh?â
Natasha watched Wanda chuckle, a quiet warmth filling her gaze as she took in Natashaâs words. âI have a good teacher. Besides, itâs nice to have something to work toward. Keeps me grounded,â she said with a confidence that had been growing steadily over the past weeks.
Lauraâs expression softened as she looked at Wanda. âWell, itâs good to hear. And I have to say, youâve seemed so much happier lately. Iâd say itâs working for you.â She winked at Wanda before her gaze drifted to Natasha, a knowing smile tugging at her lips. âI think Nat might have a little something to do with that too.â
Natasha could feel a slight blush warming her cheeks, but she rolled her eyes playfully. âLetâs not give me too much credit. Wandaâs the one putting in the work. Iâm just⌠there when she needs a little push.â
âOh, youâre there alright,â Clint teased, his eyes glinting with amusement as he shared a look with Laura. âCanât say Iâve seen you this dedicated to âpushingâ someone, Nat.â
Natasha chuckled, relaxing into the gentle teasing as Wanda turned to her with a playful glint in her eyes. âTo be fair, youâre a pretty great âpusher,ââ Wanda teased, nudging Natashaâs shoulder lightly.
âWell,â Natasha replied, letting out a soft laugh, âif Iâm going to be a pusher, might as well be the best, right?â She held Wandaâs gaze, her smile turning softer, her voice lowering. âBut you make it easy.â
The glow of the fire reflected in Wandaâs eyes, and Natasha found herself lost in their warmth until Clint cleared his throat with exaggerated volume. âAlright, lovebirds,â he said, grinning. âAre we just going to sit here staring into each otherâs eyes, or can I get someone to help me with the marshmallows for sâmores?â
Laura laughed, swatting him playfully. âWay to kill the vibe, Clint. But yes, letâs do sâmores.â
Natasha watched Wanda grin as she rose, her eyes dancing. âIâll help you grab the marshmallows, Clint. Natasha, you coming?â
Natasha leaned back against the couch, smirking up at Wanda with an affectionate, mischievous smile. âIâll be right here, keeping your seat warm. Donât take too long.â
She caught the slight flush of Wandaâs cheeks and the smile they shared before Wanda headed to the kitchen with Clint, their laughter trailing into the next room. Natasha couldnât help but smile, warmth blooming in her chest at the sound.
Laura shook her head, a fond smile on her face as she watched them go before she turned to Natasha, eyes full of quiet understanding. âYou know,â she began softly, âyou and Wanda⌠you make sense together.â
Natasha felt her breath hitch, her gaze drifting to the kitchen where Wandaâs laughter still echoed. âWeâre not⌠weâre notââ
âNat,â Laura said gently, âI donât mean to make you uncomfortable. But Iâve seen the way you look at each other. Iâve never seen you like this with anyone.â
Natasha swallowed, feeling a confession clawing its way to the surface, something sheâd tried to suppress. âItâs stupid, Laura. Letting my guard down like this⌠but I canât help it with her.â
Lauraâs voice was soft, reassuring. âItâs not stupid, Nat.â
âBut you know my past.â Natashaâs voice was barely a whisper. âThereâs no way I could ever have something⌠normal.â
âGood thing Wandaâs far from normal, isnât she?â Laura said with a gentle smile, her eyes warm with understanding.
Natasha shook her head, her voice strained. âIt wouldnât work.â
Laura sighed, giving Natasha a knowing, patient look. âJust⌠think about it, okay?â
(...)
As the others drifted off to bed, Natasha stayed behind, lingering in the quiet with Wanda beside her. Their shoulders brushed as they sat on the couch, the firelight casting warm, flickering shadows over the room. Natasha could feel the heat radiating from Wandaâs hand, resting so close to hers, close enough that the small distance between them felt charged.
Without fully deciding to, Natasha found herself leaning closer. The weight of everything unspoken, everything sheâd tried to ignore, pressed heavily on her chest. She could feel the warmth of Wandaâs presence, the soft, steady rhythm of her breathing.
"Wanda," she murmured, her voice barely more than a whisper, the word heavy with so much she didnât know how to express. "You⌠you make me feelâ" She faltered, uncertain. No words felt right, no way to truly say what was pounding in her chest.
But Wandaâs eyes softened, her gaze unwavering, silently urging Natasha to let down the last of her walls. It was an invitation, one that Natasha didnât realize sheâd been waiting for until she was already leaning in. Before doubt could take over, she closed the distance between them, her lips meeting Wandaâs in a gentle brush. But that initial softness, that tentative touch, was quickly replaced by a heat Natasha could no longer deny.
Wanda responded without hesitation, her hand sliding up to Natashaâs cheek, her thumb tracing a slow, steady path along her jaw. That small gesture undid her completely, and Natasha felt herself deepen the kiss, a barely controlled need taking over as their lips moved in sync, more intense, more consuming than sheâd imagined. The fire crackled beside them, but it was nothing compared to the heat that spread through her body, lighting up every nerve, every cell.
It was everything Natasha had wanted and everything sheâd been afraid ofâa connection that was raw, fierce, and unguarded. Wandaâs hand moved to the back of her neck, pulling her closer, her fingers threading through Natashaâs hair, and the intensity of it, the sheer honesty of what she was feeling, made something inside Natasha twist.
Abruptly, she pulled back, breaking the kiss with a shuddering breath. She could feel her pulse pounding in her ears, her heart hammering against her ribcage, a familiar panic clawing its way to the surface. She felt like she was splintering apart, the weight of her past pressing down on her, reminding her of all the reasons she shouldnât be here, shouldnât be feeling this.
âNat?â Wandaâs voice was soft, laced with concern and something deeper that Natasha wasnât sure she could handle. That depth, that vulnerability, only made the fear sharper.
âI- I canât,â Natasha managed, her voice shaky and barely audible. She pushed herself to her feet, running a hand through her hair in a desperate attempt to steady herself. She could feel everything slipping out of her control, every carefully built wall crumbling. The memories, the training, the missions - all the years sheâd spent pushing people away came crashing back, louder and more insistent.
âIâm sorry, Wanda,â she said, each word a painful effort. âI donât⌠I donât do relationships.â Her voice broke, and she could feel the sting in her chest, the realization that she was hurting Wanda. But the fear was overwhelming, a tidal wave of everything sheâd tried to bury for so long, and it left her no room to think, no space to breathe.
Without another word, Natasha turned and hurried to the door, her footsteps heavy in the silence of the house. She didnât dare look back, didnât want to see the hurt in Wandaâs eyes. All she could do was escape, feeling the memories clawing at her, threatening to pull her under as she stepped out into the cold night, her heart pounding and her mind reeling.
Just as Natashaâs fingers brushed her coat, Clintâs voice cut through her resolve. âNat.â
She froze, feeling her heartbeat thundering in her chest. Clint stood in the doorway, his gaze unwavering, the look in his eyes both gentle and firm.Â
âYouâre really going to walk away from this?â he asked quietly, his voice calm but carrying an undeniable weight. He stepped closer, his face a mix of understanding and expectation. âYou know, youâre not the only one with a past, Nat. Wandaâs been through hell too. But here she is, willing to take a chance on you.â
Natasha swallowed, her throat tight as she processed his words. âI donât want to hurt her, Clint,â she whispered, her voice raw with honesty. âI donât even know if I can be what she needs.â
Clintâs expression softened, his eyes full of warmth that only a best friend could carry. âYou donât have to be perfect, Nat. Wanda doesnât need you to be anything other than yourself. And from where Iâm standing, thatâs more than enough.â
She looked down, her mind a storm of doubts, but Clintâs words seemed to ground her. She realized, with a painful clarity, that maybe - just maybe - she did deserve this. Deserved Wanda. Her jaw tightened as she absorbed his words, feeling memories surface in her mind, fragments of her past - years of survival, of running, of pushing everyone away so she wouldnât have to face her own heartache. The idea that someone could see her past and still care for her, still want her, felt foreign, but here was Wanda, offering her something she hadnât dared to hope for.
Clintâs hand settled on her shoulder, the weight both comforting and firm. âTalk to her,â he urged. âYou donât have to have all the answers. Just⌠talk to her.â
Natasha stood by the door, Clintâs words lingering in the quiet, a steadying force as she considered what she was about to leave behind. She had always run, always turned her back on anything that felt like home. But standing here, with Clintâs words echoing in her mind, she realized that running hadnât kept her safe - it had only left her alone. Wanda had opened her heart to her, despite everything sheâd been through, and it was courage Natasha hadnât seen in anyone before. It was time, maybe, to stop letting her fear control her.
Taking a deep, unsteady breath, she let her hand fall away from her coat. Clint gave her an encouraging nod, the quiet support of a friend who had known her through it all. She nodded back, a silent acknowledgment, and without another word, turned toward the room she was sharing with Wanda, a newfound determination guiding her steps.
As Natasha approached the doorway, she found Wanda still there, her gaze fixed on the dimming embers of the fire, her expression difficult to read but so achingly familiar. The warm light danced across her face, illuminating that quiet strength, that gentleness that Natasha couldnât resist.
âWanda,â Natasha said softly, her voice raspy and filled with vulnerability she didnât recognize.
Wanda turned, her eyes catching Natashaâs, reflecting both vulnerability and hope. It was a look Natasha had come to cherish, one that made her realize just how deeply she was in this. How far gone she was already.
âIâm sorry,â Natasha whispered, swallowing the lump in her throat. âI⌠Iâve spent so long keeping people at a distance. But youâŚâ She swallowed, feeling her own defenses crack. âYouâre the first person I canât seem to push away, no matter how hard I try. And that scares me. Letting someone in like this⌠itâs not something I know how to do.â
Wanda took a step forward, closing the distance with that unwavering gaze. âThen donât,â she murmured, her voice warm and soft, coaxing Natasha closer. âLet me in, Natasha. I know youâre scared, but Iâm here. Youâre not alone in this.â She raised a hand, cupping Natashaâs cheek, her touch featherlight but grounding.
The tenderness in Wandaâs eyes, in her touch, undid Natasha entirely. She felt a tear slip down her cheek, the walls sheâd held for so long dissolving in the warmth of Wandaâs touch. Her fingers trembled as she reached up, holding Wandaâs hand as if it was the lifeline she hadnât known sheâd needed. âIâm scared, Wanda,â she admitted, her voice breaking, barely above a whisper. âIâm scared of letting myself love you, and even more of losing you. Everyone I let in either dies or disappears. I canâtâŚâ
Wandaâs grip on her hand tightened, a quiet promise in that simple touch. âIâm not going anywhere.â Her thumb stroked softly over Natashaâs knuckles, grounding her. âYou donât have to be perfect, Nat. I donât need you to be anything other than right here, with me.â
Natasha exhaled slowly, relief washing over her as her fingers laced through Wandaâs, feeling as if theyâd always belonged there. âIâm done running,â she murmured, her voice quiet but resolute.
Their eyes met, and in that gaze, Natasha found all the courage sheâd never been able to find within herself. Slowly, she leaned in, closing the distance, capturing Wandaâs lips in a kiss that held all her fears, all her hopes, and every unspoken promise between them. This kiss was different. It was deeper, free of hesitation, her emotions pouring into each movement, each second. Natashaâs hand found its way into Wandaâs hair, pulling her close, her need fierce, unapologetic. Wandaâs arms wrapped around her, drawing her in as if she, too, had been waiting for this, for them, for so long.
The kiss intensified, Natasha pouring herself into it, letting her guard drop completely, allowing herself to be vulnerable in Wandaâs arms. Her fingers twisted deeper into Wandaâs hair, and Wandaâs hand trailed up her arm, soft but firm, grounding her. Natasha felt as if she was coming alive, like every part of her had woken up, drawn into Wandaâs warmth, her steadiness. When they finally broke apart, they were both breathless, their foreheads pressed together as they held each other close.
Natasha looked into Wandaâs eyes, her heart pounding, and saw the same fire, the same need that mirrored her own. Unable to resist, she cupped Wandaâs face, bringing her in for another kiss, more intense, almost desperate, as months of unspoken tension gave way. It was an ache she could feel in her chest, a need she hadnât let herself feel for so long, and she surrendered to it completely.
As Natasha looked into Wandaâs eyes, she saw that same fire, that same unrestrained desire, mirroring her own. The weight of everything they'd held back, the longing, the fear, and the inevitability, all of it seemed to rise to the surface. Without a second thought, she pulled Wanda in, capturing her lips in a kiss that went beyond tenderness, beyond anything she had ever let herself feel.
This kiss was no longer tentative or questioning; it was a fierce, consuming need, her hands finding Wanda's waist and pulling her closer, as if she needed her as much as she needed air. Wanda responded in kind, her fingers slipping into Natasha's hair, tugging her closer as their lips moved together in perfect sync, every touch feeling like fire running through her veins, something primal. Natasha could feel her heart pounding and she was pretty sure Wanda could hear it too.
Their movements grew frantic, both of them losing themselves in the moment. Natasha could feel Wandaâs soft gasp against her lips as her hands roamed Wandaâs back, gripping the fabric of her shirt, anchoring herself in this moment. They stumbled slightly as they edged toward the bed, neither willing to break the kiss, not even for a second. Natasha barely registered the feel of the mattress at the back of her knees before they tumbled down together, Wanda's soft laugh breaking through, only for Natasha to capture it with another kiss, deeper, more unrestrained.
Their limbs tangled, hands exploring as they gave into the intensity they had held back for so long. Natasha ran her fingers through Wandaâs hair, tilting her head to deepen the kiss, feeling Wandaâs warmth, the way her body pressed against hers. She could feel Wandaâs heartbeat, as frantic as her own, their breaths mingling as they finally gave in, letting the world fall away.
Wanda's hands skimmed Natashaâs shoulders, tracing a path down her arms, her touch gentle but charged with electric energy, sending shivers through her. Natasha couldnât hold back a soft, involuntary gasp as Wandaâs lips found her neck, trailing heat along her skin, igniting something deeper, hungrier. She pulled Wanda even closer, their bodies pressing together as they moved in sync, both of them surrendering completely to the moment, to each other, letting themselves finally fall into what had been waiting for so long.Â
When they finally parted again, Natasha held Wanda close, her forehead resting against hers as she caught her breath. Wanda traced gentle, reassuring patterns along her arm, anchoring her.
âSoâŚâ Wanda whispered, her voice tinged with that same vulnerability Natasha knew was on her own. âWeâre really doing this?â
Natasha nodded, a small smile tugging at her lips. âYeah,â she murmured, her voice shaky. âWeâre doing this. I mean, unless you donât want it, which is totally okay.â
âNatasha.âÂ
âYes?âÂ
âShut up and kiss me.âÂ
Natasha felt her heart race, every part of her body vibrating with the determination in Wanda's voice. In her entire life, it was the first time she had gone to bed with someone not because of some stupid mission, but because she really wanted to, because she felt something for the person who was with her at that moment. And that scared Natasha more than she could admit. She closed her eyes tightly, pushing those thoughts away and focusing on the feeling of Wanda's lips against hers, on the way her hands slid tentatively over her shoulders and arms until they reached her waist and even more tentatively, slid under her blouse, gently brushing her skin.Â
Her touch was warm and intoxicating and Natasha couldn't contain a moan when Wanda's lips found the skin of her neck again, biting lightly. Her hips rocked involuntarily against Wanda's, who was sitting on her lap, one leg on either side of her. Natasha abandoned all caution at that moment and slid her hands under the sweater Wanda was wearing, lightly scratching her back. She smiled in satisfaction at the moan that escaped Wanda's lips and did it again, gasping when Wanda ground her hips against hers.
"Fuck." Natasha moaned as Wanda bit and then licked her pulse point.
"I think that's what we're about to do, huh?"
"Oh, God." Natasha felt her panties get even wetter at the sound of Wanda's voice, husky and full of desire.
"Wanda will be enough."
Natasha's eyes met Wanda's and in them was a silent plea. Nat nodded, and lifted herself just enough for Wanda to remove her shirt. She was always very confident about her body, but when she saw Wanda's gaze, so raw, so intense and filled with true desire mixed with something else, Natasha felt her cheeks burn.
"You're so beautiful." Wanda whispered and leaned in to kiss her again.Â
Natasha moaned softly against Wanda's lips as her hands explored her exposed skin tentatively but determinedly. It was almost impossible to keep her moans down, but she knew they couldn't make too much noise, for the sake of the children in the same hallway as them.Â
Natasha bit the back of her hand hard to suppress a moan as Wanda's lips reached her breast. She had never experienced anything like this, a desire so intense, so true, so raw. And she needed to feel Wanda's skin against hers.
Natasha slid her hands to the hem of Wanda's sweater and with a silent request removed the garment. She took a moment to appreciate Wanda's beauty, feeling her mouth water at the sight that graced her eyes. Tentatively she slid her hands down Wanda's belly to her breasts, squeezing gently.
A low moan escaped Wanda's lips, and Natasha rose, kissing her with a desire she never thought possible. With a quick movement Natasha reversed their position and wasted no time began to distribute kisses along Wanda's jaw and neck, until she reached her breasts.
"So beautiful." Natasha whispered and her eyes met Wanda's again, with another silent request.
When she nodded, Natasha got rid of their jeans, and along with them their panties, eliminating any barrier between them. They moaned into each other's lips as their bodies touched for the first time, hips rocking against each other in a desperate search for contact, for friction.
Natasha slid one leg between Wanda's and nearly came right then and there at how wet she was. "Fuck, Wands."
"I need-" Wanda swallowed, her hips jerking.
"What do you need?" Natasha teased, rocking her hips slowly against Wanda's wet pussy.
"I need you, Nat."
That was enough to get Natasha moving, another time she would tease Wanda to the limit, but she needed it just as much and didn't want to waste time with games. Hopefully they would have plenty of other opportunities for that.
Gently, Natasha slid a finger inside Wanda, both of them moaning at the sensation. She began to move her finger slowly, and when she felt that Wanda was comfortable enough, she slid another one in. A louder moan escaped Wanda's lips and Natasha swallowed it with a kiss.
She moaned against Wanda's lips when she felt her slide a finger inside her and Natasha never thought it was possible to feel so much pleasure. Not really, and it was embarrassing how close she was to cumming.
Soon they found the perfect rhythm and their moans were muffled by the intense kisses as their bodies moved in perfect synchrony. It didn't take long for them to cum together, and that was, without a doubt, one of the best sensations Natasha had ever felt in her life.
As they lay together, Natasha realized she had never felt so vulnerable yet so completely safe, wrapped in the warmth of Wanda's touch, her hands on her skin, her breath brushing softly against her neck. It was as if every unspoken fear, every moment of hesitation, had melted away, leaving only the trust and certainty that whatever happened, they were here, together, completely lost in each other.
And as the night stretched on, Natasha allowed herself to fully surrender to the moment, letting go of every doubt and opening herself to Wanda in a way she never had with anyone else, trusting her completely, feeling the depth of their connection, and knowing that this was exactly where she was meant to be.
In that small, fire-lit room, wrapped in Wandaâs arms, Natasha felt a warmth and belonging she hadnât thought possible. The rest of the world faded away as she let herself be completely, irrevocably lost in Wanda.

Hey i wanted to ask a question? How do you manage your Patreon account and money? (Iâm thinking about investing one in the future for a comic series) and itâs also for a friend of mine that tried to use Patreon but before but it didnât work? They are a writer too
Hi there! I'm not sure what you mean by managing, but I'm gonna explain a bit how I set it up and if you have more doubts send me a DM :)
How I set it up: I looked to other authors who had stuff similar to mine and specially other book authors to see their pricing and rewards and decided to have three tiers. The hardest part was to figure out how much money I should charge, because at the end of the day this is a hobby but if I'm earning money I should treat it as such, so it was important to set a good work/money ratio and I think the one I have works pretty well. After that, it was promoting it and waiting to see if people were interested. Truth be told, I had over 5000 followers when I started Patreon so I already knew at least some people would be interessted because I did some polls beforehand.
What I post: I post at least 6 stories a week (which is insane I know), five that are later going to be public here on Tumblr (tier 1 gets the content about 3 days before) and all the extra ones are exclusive for tier 2 and 3. All the stories and extras get published at similar times (usually 16:30 CET), so I'd say an schedule is a big thing because it helps you with organizing and also people know what to expect and when. Consistency is a big pro because people are more likely to be interested if they know you are updating regularly (doesn't need to be so frequent as I do, it could be one story a week).
How do I manage the money: Patreon sends your earnings thru PayPal once a month normally, but you can take it earlier if you need it. As per further taxes and non-fun stuff, I hired someone to do that for me because there's nothing I hate more than paperwork.
So, I started the Patreon without really much expectations, the same as when I started doing commissions. I didn't think nobody would like my stuff enough to pay for it, but I decided to take the leap and it worked (yay! super happy about it). My main goal was to pay for my therapy sessions and after I passed that I was just amazed that people kept suscribing and I'm super happy about it, like I can't even describe how happy it makes me. I would have never thought that someday I could tell my friends: "today's work task is a fisting scene" (true thing that happened), and it's fucking phenomenal. I hope your Patreon (if you decide so) works well, it's really amazing to earn money doing something you love. That said, don't be discouraged if it takes a while to take off, I aknowledge I'm super lucky and everything worked super nicely for me, but that's not always the case, so I don't want you to think you are failing just because it takes longer for you. And even if it doesn't work at all, you are still great as an artist/writer. :)
Hope that helped.

Reblogging to say I enjoy MCSM life way more when I don't pour negative energy into seeing a ship I don't like (Petra x Lukas, Axel x Olivia, anyone in that little OG treehouse trio really, they give solely platonic for me because that's my headcanon and my opinion. Just because I see Petra and Lukas as siblings/cousins dynamic, it doesn't mean everyone else will.)
When I see it on my feed I go "hm" and move on and my world looks like this when I do:
I know i said I wouldnt say anymore more of the matter but this was in my drafts and i thought i posted it
(Rambling below)
I think Romesse is a very interesting ship and can be explored in several dynamics and that's fun especially the fact that Romeo is fucking pathetic /lovingly
I like Axden, Aiden is a wide eyed wet cat and Axel is large dog that enjoyed the swim like you feel?
I'm also a multi shipper. I like Jesstra, I like PetraĂMaya. StellaĂBinta, StellaĂOlivia, StellaĂJesse
I love Xaragaard, XaraĂBinta, XaraĂRomeo in the right circumstances, (XARAĂME/MY OC BC SHES MY WIFE AND I LOVE HER but that's besides the point.)
I like thinking about how they would play out. I like the stories, the scenes, the communication, the fights that either do or don't get worked through, everything that goes into a ship to make it special.
Other people might see a ship a certain way like how some people see Xara Ă Romeo dynamic as like "Im romeo im big boy pants grrr" and personally not my cup of tea for that ship (I also like exploring the idea of all 3 admins being a throuple just as much as I like exploring their friendship)
Also imagining Jesstra/Jetra starting out really rocky for a while but them working through it for a healthier relationship. The complexity makes daydreaming so much more fun and more personal. Some relationships can be near effortless but a lot of relationships can be rocky
Like Romesse is definitely A LOT of adjusting and communicating and working after all thats happened. A lot of Romeo making up and trying to get ahold of his feelings and mortality like ITS A LOT
It doesn't boil down to
Jesse: Haha boyfriend :)
Romeo: Eat shit im better than you, love me *spits*
Jesse: Haha okay :')
Ship is short for relationship. It doesn't = OTP (god i havent used that word in ages)
Anyway, I'm done now. Ships are complex and I just ignore the ones I don't like and if I feel so strongly about it I'll block the tag/the account. Like OP said MCSM doesn't really have proships. Age isn't a huge part of their reality like ours (they don't spawn as babies, they spawn as a person -a noob- and nobody is related. Nobody has parents or siblings or cousins)
THIS IS NOT TARGETTED!!! THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM!!!
There are quite literally no proships in MCSM[except obvious ones like animal x human ajd arguably old order/builders x new order/blaze rods and competitors x old builders]
Yes... even Romesse
Why?: Because depending on context, ALL SHIPS CAN BE TOXIC!!!
JESSKAS CAN BE TOXIC BECAUSE IF WRRE GETTING CRITICAL, JESSE CAN LITERALLY BE A DICK TO LUKAS IN ALL THE CHOICES!!!
JESSTRA CAN BE TOXIC BECAUSE YOU CAN BE A DICK TO PETRA, IF WERE BEIBG CRITICAL!!!!!
ALMOST EVERY SHIP IN SOME SORT OF CONTEXT CAN BE TOXIC!!!
BESIDES; SOME CHOICES YOU CAN REDEEM CHARACTERS!!!! IT'S NOT HARD TO UNDERSTAND!!!! I DONT EVEN LIKE ROMESSE YET I STILL KNOW IT'S NOT A PROSHIP!!!
ALL SHIPS NEED CONTEXT. IF THE CONTEXT IS ONE CHARACTER IS REDEEMED, AND TGE CHARACTERS ARE FINE WITH EACH OTHER, AND IS LEGAL, ITS FINE!!!! SO MANY SHIP FALL INTO THIS CATAGORY, AND THAT'S OKAY!!!
LUKXEL, AXDEN, ROMESSE, JESSKAS, JESSTRA, AND IVORREN ARE REALLY GOOD EXAMPLES!!!
THE BEST PART IS: THEY CAN BE EXES TOO, AND IT WONâT MATTER!!!
IT'S YOUR AU!!!! THERE'S NO CANON CHOICES, THERE'S NO CANON SHIPS, IT'S ALL UP TO YOU!!!!
IT'S ALL UP TO INTERPERTATION!!!!
But remember; JUST BECAUSE YOU HEADCANON OR THINK IT DOESN'T MEAN IT'S CANON!!!!
I USE TO BE THOSE PEOPLE WHO WOULD BE HYPOCRITICAL ABOUT PEOPLE'S SHIPS, I'LL ADMIT!!! AND IT SUCKS!!!!
BUT; PEOPLE CAN CHANGE!!! And I hope it's what some people in this community doâĄ

ok hi usually i dont post these kinda things but
recently theres been a discord scam going around and i havent seeeeen anyone bring it up? nor was i able to find a lot of info online about it
essentially, the scammer (using the account of someone youâve friended OR someone in a server your in) will approach you and tell you that theyve falsely reported you + that your account could be deleted if you dont appeal to discord. this is the message that was sent to me v
and this is a version sent to my friend (the same email screenshot was also included after this message) v
once you reach out to the user listed in the email, theyâll ask you to fill out your information, then boot you from the account. by that point they will have access your account and will more than likely use it to spread to more people
as shown the scam itself tends to have some variety- not all of its gonna be word for word, exactly the same- so be careful! if you suspect someone you know has been caught up in the scam, be sure to block and to reach out on other platforms if possible.
stay safe !
(bonus- a closer up of the email + some scam advice from a friend)
(scam advice from friend)
#discord#scam alert#this went around in my friend circle for a bit#i know two people who got it. and i as well#i dont know for sure just how big its gotten so⌠putting this out there just in case#really the main main reason im posting this is cuz. i wouldve been more guillable to it if my friend hadnt shown me their#screenshots a few days before i got the message jfkf#so knowing what it looked like helped#so hopefully i can save a few ppl from losing their accounts at the very least jfkf

Love Laudna wanting Orym to be the one to cut her down if need be because she feels he can make hard choices, and Travis like "uh hello? What about Chetney? You want to put Orym through that anguish? I am right here" like damn, he right tho
#chet is 400+. his relationship with grief is very different from orym who is 6 years into being a widow and being retraumatised each day#chetney is big picture#he doesnt have that same level of responsibility for the others safety and protection that someone like orym has#not to say he doesnt care. he very much does. its just different#for him sometimes caring means putting your dog down when they are suffering#orym would see having to hurt his friends as a personal failing#like how he saw himself dying as a failure#i do find it funny whenever the team is like 'what if i hurt one of you when i lose control? i couldnt live with myself :('#'anyway orym i want you to kill me on purpose'#and orym just like :/ because what is he going to do? say no?#set boundaries and take his own future mental state into account?#nope. if it helps the others then he will commit an unforgivable act and barely be able to live with the guilt after#love that the halfling has been weaponised#this sounds sarcastic. i mean it. its juicy storytelling#the hells need to take chetney into account more. this man is pop pop. he cares in the way a dad friend would#gentle and sweet at times. an empathetic listener#but also willing to smack the shit out of you if you do some fuckshit#he would be so gentle with taking them out#would immortalize them through his woodwork after to remember them#critical role#cr3#orym#chetney#text post#4sd spoilers#my posts#idk if thats a needed tag#sorry for my wall of text tags but i ramble

Actually, yeah, that's clearly the difference between how I view Marinette's social-emotional skills and what others are saying: I think Marinette had poor social-emotional skills even before the retool.
The way I see it, Marinette has always acted like a coddled teen. Thereâs a reason so many of my examples of Marinetteâs parents came from the pre-retool show, and why my description of Marinette as someone who can't handle stress, can't handle setbacks and considers her problems the most important problems, no matter how minor applies to Marinette's original characterization as well as the retooled Marinette.
Marinette used to do almost all of the stuff she does now, but to a lesser extent and she used to make up for it afterwards. Teenagers lean towards self-centeredness because their sense of self and identity is going through rapid development, but Marinette has always been very single-minded about this, and her poor skills in relating to others make her easily trample on other people's feelings. Of course, part of this was the original show's format of wanting to teach a lesson through Marinette's mistakes, but that's exactly what makes her relatable to kids with poor social-emotional skills; she's also learning.
Basically, being too preoccupied with herself has always been a weakness of Marinetteâs; she has to see another person get upset before she realizes she did something to hurt them. The difference is that, before the retool, Marinette used to realize that she should make up for what she did wrong and then did so. After the retool Marinetteâs reaction to her mistakes is to double down, make excuses or cry about what a terrible person she is and how bad she feels until she gets vindicated. The change in Marinette's character is in how much she thinks she should take responsibility for her mistakes.
Ever since the beginning, Marinette's gotten constant praise as Ladybug; everyone always tells her sheâs the best, did everything right and is always correct about everything. At worst, her actions lead to âdifferent consequencesâ. In addition to this, she has all the power and control in the hero team dynamics, making everyone else inferior to her. This has clearly gone to her head, so now she no longer sees her own mistakes as mistakes, because sheâs the greatest Ladybug ever who can do no wrong and everyone else is just a pawn in her great master plans. She has no sense of accountability. She will over-blame herself when she gets caught messing up royally, but only until someone absolves her of guilt and then she takes no steps to avoid making that same mistake in the future, because she wasn't really at fault, she was told she wasn't.
Consider the Kagami bullying arc. In 'Ikari Gozen', Marinette accepts she was wrong about Kagami and had no right to interfere with her the way she did. She does go back to it briefly in 'Love Hunter' in a moment of weakness, but overall she accepts that sabotaging Kagami isn't right. If this story had happened post-retool, I have no doubt the conclusion to 'Ikari Gozen' would have been Marinette crying about how she's a horrible person and as bad as ChloĂŠ to Kagami, with Kagami saying something like: "You are much kinder than ChloĂŠ. You just love Adrien. In fact, clearly your love for Adrien is much deeper and purer than mine. I will gladly step down so that you can be with your soulmate."
Post-retool Marinette canât be wrong about anything, so she never really accepts fault. She makes a big deal about how bad she feels, but only to people who will instantly appease, comfort and forgive her, and she never makes up for what she did wrong or even tries to avoid making the same mistakes. And thatâs what makes her previously acceptable and understandable personal weaknesses into absolutely grating character flaws. The somewhat-coddled normal girl is now a spoiled brat and a terror boss, not because she lost her social skills, but because she lost her sense of accountability.
It's very ironic. The girl who whines about how she has too many responsibilities and she can't handle it accepts no responsibility for her own actions.
This is a longer one, sorry đ
About that ask you replied to about Marinette's parents. I didn't grow up in a healthy household and i struggle to form a properly informed opinion on Marinette's parents in all this mess.
Cause clearly they are very loving, caring, and supportive, but they aren't perfect either. They are realistically human. They have blind spots, didnt actually RAISE her apparently when she does things wrong, and hardly give Marinette any boundaries or consequences to face, which now evolved into her neither being able to handle anything not going her way nor having to actually take people into consideration and go through with improving on the things she said she should.
Im pretty sure Marinette was a very friendly child who didn't cause too many problems, if at all, so now that she's a complicated teenager who actually needs some boundaries and discipline they dont know how to handle it. Thats the picture im getting. Not to mention that they don't know Marinette is Ladybug so they have no idea what's caused all these extreme changes in their daughter and how to accommodate to properly help her.
But in my eyes, without the whole Ladybug thing, this is still a pretty normal and realistic portrayal of a modern family, so Marinette is simply a normal ass kid. She's clearly spoiled to a solid degree and emotionally shielded the way most middle class kids from central Europe are. Just because her family isn't perfect doesn't it mean she's being abused or her parents are bad. For me, they are a realistic healthy family. Whatever faults her parents have are pretty common things parents do wrong.
But this now raises the question for me how exactly to go about Marinette's family. Obviously her parents didn't to everything right in their parenting, so those flaws of Marinette can be traced back to them while Marinette at the same time SHOULD normally STILL be asked to grow out of it the way any normal teenager should, it's just slightly more challenging.
But then I see discussions that take it way too far imo but I don't know where exactly to draw the line.
It is correct that Tom and Sabine for example seem to know very little about their daughter's friend group to the point that they just let Sabrina into Marinette's room. The common argument I see being raised here is that Sabine is neglective because she doesn't know that Sabrina isn't Marinette's friend.
Now this doesn't feel quite right to me. Marinette's parents seem to be pretty much unaware that their daughter was bullied in school which unfortunately isn't at all uncommon. When the parents are neither told by the child or the school, then how are they supposed to know? The most they seem to know is that Marinette has a hard time with ChloĂŠ, but I never had the impression that they know how serious this was. Marinette sure was never shown to ever voice any of that.
So Sabine thinking Sabrina is Marinette's friend is a fair enough assumption in my eyes. I remember back when I was 12-13, forming friendship in a collective class is alot easier when you're a kid. Kids just go with the flow like that and become friends in 10 seconds even if they aren't spending much time with each other directly. Forming connections tends gets more difficult as one grows older.
I don't think at that age parents can be faulted for not keeping track of all their kid's friendships. Sabrina running up to Sabine and claiming she's Marinette's friend and Sabine believing her is honestly nothing too special.
What I take issue with, though, is that Sabine just let Sabrina go into Marinette's room ALONE. That a parent, imo, truly shouldn't do.
And yet, one still wouldn't call her a BAD parent for that, right? It's very flawed, but obviously Marinette also continues to rely on her parents doing that with the amount of times Alya just gets to come and go however she please, even with Marinette not being there, despite Marinette knowing Alya merely year at this point. Way less than Sabrina for example.
There is this persistent grey area here that I can't quite place. Marinette's parents are very obviously very trusting, but the way the show portrays it seems to border on neglective imo, but it's based in their daughter just getting free reign most of the time so Marinette can do shit in her room and leave for long periods of time for example that parents should normally check on their kids for.
So, at the same time, is it actually neglect? Thanks to being Ladybug, it is Marinette who has pulled more and more away from her parents and since season 4 is doing so to honestly very unnecessary degrees. There is little reason for why Marinette constantly locks herself and Alya into her room and doesn't spend much time with her parents when all that Marinette is doing in there is panicking and not doing something actually productive most of the time anyway. You may as well just spend time with your parents instead of crying to Alya that you supposedly CANT (while taking over Alya's life and being the actual reason why SHE cant)
Teenagers at Marinette's age starting to pull away from their parents is nothing uncommon. So I'm pretty sure that's just how it looks like for her parents. Marinette is starting to grow up and doesn't prioritize spending time or sharing her life with them as much anymore.
Can't pretend like that's not a sad truth parents have to deal with, so the kid's friends are trusted by the parents to know their kid in ways they don't anymore.
Marinette has very loving and caring parents who don't push her to involve them or share what she doesn't want to. Now here is the question. While this is neglective to a degree and Marinette does seem to be affected badly by it, is this necessarily something her parents are doing objectively WRONG? From their perspective, their daughter is growing up and so busy that they aren't much of a priority in her life. She's pulling more and more away and her parents try to adjust to that supportively without being given context as any parent must.
Clearly the created distance has Marinette now incorrectly believe that her parents aren't actually a real support system anymore, the way Marinette didnt even try to reach out in Kwamis Choice and her thinking she has lost EVERYTHING at the end of season 4 and then proceeding to act like she doesn't think she truly has anyone or anything in season 5 too.
Now, is Marinette thinking that she has NOTHING at the end of season 4, and still seeming to think so in season 5, something her parents failed at teaching her better?
When a kid starts pulling away from their supportive family, because they are so used to having them, and ends up convincing themselves that their parents dont count anymore as support because it isnt as perfect and easy as they'd like, is this a failure of the parents for not sitting their child down to remind them that the kid isn't the emotional equivalent of an orphan now the moment they have to do something alone?
Or is this simply a normal thing a teenager has to realize on their own? That just because the loving parents aren't a perfect support system anymore, doesn't it mean the kid just gets to disregard them fully as an option the way Marinette constantly does?
Because, well, this IS what it constantly feels like for me when it comes to Marinette.
When Marinette takes offense with her parents not unconditionally believing her all the time, is it really always her parents fault for not having raised her to handle push back better, or is it also just a natural part of growing up that you have to get over yourself and realize that your parents too need context for the situations you're in (e.g. Adoration) because growing up means you're parents shouldn't just handwave all the accountability away you potentially have to take now because you're not an 8 year old anymore and capable of genuine wrongdoing?
Yes, her parents definitely failed a solid bit in regards of leaving Marinette emotionally immature and unprepared when it comes to pushback, criticism, or considerations of others.
But to what degree are her parents actually WRONG in wanting Marinette to learn it for herself now because that's normally how it done?
Do her parents REALLY have to sit her 14-15 year old ass down and teach her that other people have feelings and lives of their own? That reality exists outside of her head and feelings? Or should a teenager be expected to learn that themselves, especially one that's so busy and involved in everything as Marinette? Cause it actually seems to me that her being Ladybug caused her stunted development in this regard. Because being Ladybug always serves as the right excuse to always demand and expect the others to do the learning cause she's "too stressed" and "too justified as leader who doesn't owe anyone anything, but is owed everything herself cause she says so".
It's seems that it's rather that being Ladybug caused the damage in Marinette's development which her parent can't know about, and not that her parents are particularly failing by not holding their daughter's hand all through growing up even more to spoon-feed her every bit of development she should grow into now to make sure its as pleasant and easy as possible?
In my opinion, from teenage age onwards it's not the parents' job to tell their children at any uncomfortable or challenging occasion what's right and wrong and do all the work in the child's personal development into a young adult. And isn't that what Marinette's parents are being criticised for anyway? That they don't let their daughter face disappointment, discipline, and struggles because it makes her upset? But now they are in the wrong for wanting to have their daughter learn and figure things out in their own, but fully intend on always being there for her in every way when she needs it?
There definitely IS a complicated grey area here where these two parenting styles badly overlapped and caused problems.
Tom and Sabine DO give Marinette way too much free reign cause it badly clashes with how little discipline, rules, boundaries, and consideration she was raised to actually having to oblige to as part of living with other people.
Marinette was not well prepared for the freedom she now has, but looking at it in general, the problem seems much more to be Marinette being Ladybug, and not necessarily that she's a teenager who lacks refined emotional intelligence because she grew up shielded and cuddled. If Marinette had a normal life, she would have some more trouble growing out of it, but it's not like her parents ruined her.
I think it's that Marinette is Ladybug that is to blame here. Because that's how she was put in a position where she learned that she just needs to stomp her foot, scream, cry, or use her titel to make it so that it's always everyone else who has to do the learning and not her. Marinette's concerning entitlement grew through being Ladybug and not tolerating anything but having all the support, resources, and everyone beneath her in the hierarchy who must submit to her will or else she cant function.
Whatever problems her parents caused in her upbringing should have been easy enough to grow out of. It's LADYBUG who stunted that development because Marinette learned that she has the option to just demand that everyone has to cater to her instead. That is not her parents fault, but it always leaves me at the same problem of not knowing how to properly dissect and discuss what blame Tom and Sabine objectively have in this.
---
This is a very insightful and interesting essay, Anon. When it comes to Marinetteâs parents, it's really hard to call them âbad parentsâ, because they're really good at many things that come to parenting. They're supportive, they respect Marinette's space and privacy, they believe in her ability to handle herself and Marinette clearly feels safe with them. And you're also right that it's extremely difficult for them to guide Marinette learning social-emotional skills now that she's a willful teenager and wouldn't be receptive to her parents âcorrecting her behaviorâ if they even knew there was something to correct.
I also don't think Marinette's parents can see all the issues with Marinetteâs conduct. She is a very âeasyâ child; she's polite, she respects authority and doesn't get into purposeful mischief. She's the exact kind of child adults don't worry about, so they don't have to constantly keep an eye on her. Especially since a lot of her problems come to the forefront as Ladybug, a whole new part of her life her parents arenât involved in.
The thing here is that 14-year-olds not knowing that other people have feelings or how to deal with disappointments is exactly why early childhood education is now emphasizing the teaching of these skills so much. For a long time, there was a belief that kids learn social-emotional skills naturally and there's no need to purposefully teach them, because kids will âget itâ when they're âold enough to understandâ. Except that we have now discovered that they don't, in fact, just naturally âget itâ. These skills need to be taught in early childhood, starting from simple ideas like âyour friend is crying because you took their toy, donât do that againâ and moving up from there. And the only way to teach these things in a purposeful way is to put your small kids with other small kids and let them do small kid things, even if it results in someone ending up crying, especially if someone ends up crying, because learning to deal with your own emotional responses and other people having emotional reactions to your actions is, in fact, an essential life and relationship skill. The theory of mind (the understanding that other people have thoughts and feelings that can differ from your own) is something that preschoolers are expected to learn and should get support in learning if they don't.
Iâm saying Marinette should already know this stuff. Her parents and possible kindergarten teacher should have taught her almost a decade ago.
However, I donât disagree with your assertion that being Ladybug is why these common problems with Marinetteâs conduct are such a big issue for her relationships now. Because her upbringing neglected to teach her essential social-emotional skills, and sheâs been shoved into a position of not just power, but absolute power where no one is in a position to question her, sheâs now a nightmare boss who expects everyone else to be fully committed to making the broken system sheâs running run smoothly while she comes up with some nonsense project to keep busy so that she has the excuse to take her frustrations out on everyone beneath her.
If Marinette was just constantly ditching her friends so that she could do something relating to her love quest, Iâm pretty sure the most severe, realistic consequences for her friends would just be them thinking she doesnât want to hang out, feeling bummed and no longer inviting her. Marinette being in a position of leadership both exacerbates her social-emotional ineptitude and makes its consequences more severe, because now theyâre facing dangerous situations and the leadership only doesnât care if they get hurt, but sometimes actively hurts them for the sake of achieving some other goal in the future.
We must consider that Marinette has been Ladybug for only a year, while her parents have raised her since birth. Anything being Ladybug has taught Marinette was learned on the basis her parents gave her. I donât think this is an either-or situation. Now that she's an independent teenager, of course her parents expect her to pull away, be private and figure things out on her own. What Marinette is doing wrong now is on her, because she's the one taking on all these responsibilities, leaving others in the dark, not consulting anyone who doesn't just appease her and making decisions for others. However, this being her go-to approach shows us that her parents failed her in the past.
I think Marinette's parents are doing everything right for an older child, but I also think they were very out of their depth when Marinette was a small child. She clearly wasn't taught this stuff that has to be taught at an early age because she's now a teenager and seems to have no clue how interpersonal relationships work. Of course she's still too young to understand everything, especially romance, but she lacks basic understanding of mutual friendship as well. It just really feels like Marinette's parents have never had any expectations for her, even when she was a small child throwing a fit when she didn't get her way.
