A century ago, the Sentience Wars tore the galaxy apart and nearly ended the entire concept of intelligent space-faring life. Once every cycle, the civilizations gather for the Metagalactic Grand Prix – part gladiatorial contest, part beauty pageant, part concert extravaganza, and part continuation of the wars of the past. Instead of competing in orbital combat, the powerful species that survived face off in a competition of song, dance, or whatever can be physically performed in an intergalactic talent show. The stakes are high for this new game, and everyone is forced to compete.

This year, though, humankind has discovered the enormous universe. And while they expected to discover a grand drama of diplomacy, gunships, wormholes, and stoic councils of aliens, they have instead found glitter, lipstick and electric guitars. Mankind will not get to fight for its destiny – they must sing.

A one-hit-wonder band of human musicians, dancers and roadies from London – Decibel Jones and the Absolute Zeroes – have been chosen to represent Earth on the greatest stage in the galaxy. And the fate of their species lies in their ability to rock.

okay y'all. y'all. so like, I say this regularly. I made it up. but I think it should be used by everyone.

like, this is a hot take, but it's okay to enjoy something made by a shitty person.

this isn't to say boycotting and cancel culture should be stopped! like, if someone is a shitty person, they should not be paid to be able to continue to be shitty. so yeah, go ahead and pirate shit. wait until media is free and enjoy it then.

but like, I feel like people go so hard when it comes to shitty people that they're essentially killing the arts, and the people who find peace with them. it's just not fair.

I mean the first and most obvious example would be j.k. rowling. there's SO MUCH discourse surrounding her. but there shouldn't need to be. she's an awful person and a transphobe, and she should be avoided and boycotted. she doesn't deserve any more money. that being said, we can support things in the franchise she's not a part of. we should support fanart and fanfiction involving these beloved characters. we should encourage trans headcanons and embrace the fact that a lot of what makes the Harry Potter universe so great is the fans, not her.

another one is Michael Jackson. he was a pervert and shouldn't be celebrated the way he was and still is. that being said, he made music inspired by black culture and in turn inspired new types of music. so his music, things like the moonwalk, they should be appreciated.

John Barrowman is another good one. he was inappropriate and people have every right to blacklist him. but Jack Harkness? Jack Harkness is a PHENOMENAL character. he stands for omni rep, embracing queerness, and is a well constructed character that parallels and bounces off The Doctor beautifully. and? he can easily be recast. it's literally sci-fi dude, it's not that big a deal. yes Barrowman made a huge impact on the character, but he's not all he is. the writers contributed, too.

Jonathan Majors is a hot topic right now. yes, he should absolutely be blacklisted and removed from the mcu. but that doesn't meant they have to get rid of Kang. he was going to be (and still can be) a widely used character - characters, really - within the marvel universe. they can just recast him. they did it with Bruce Banner, they did it with Rhodey, two major characters in the mcu. they've done it with more I can't think of at the moment. and again, it's technically sci-fi. not to mention that with No Way Home and the Loki variants, they clearly showed that the same character can have different faces/actors.

notable mention: Tom Cruise. Knight and Day was awesome.

so yeah. hate the artist, love the art. it's really not as big a deal as people make it out to be.

hmm... had to think about this for a while and talk about it with co-author, but here's what we got. we mostly base this stuff on how plausible it is in show/if there's evidence for it. with a dash of personal experience. This only applies to residuum, btw. I have different personal headcanons for these characters outside the comic.

april: lesbian. this is mostly based off of the fact that most aprils get with their caseys & the comment she said to dale. which could be taken as disinterest in dale specifically, but she seemed more concerned with impressing that popular girl earlier and that reads as more... saphic, i suppose. or at the very least homoromantic.

raph: raph is just raph. we look at him and basically just *tv static*. go crazy. all we got is jokes or stuff that has too little evidence to support. so, yeah, he's whatever you want him to be i guess?

leo: trans. already said my reason in the other post. also, gay. if gay were a power source he could power the entirety of the united states for five months straight without a single power outage. failing power grid notwithstanding (< thats the actual word. its supposed to be mushed together like that. wack.).

donnie: as much as i'd like him to be ace/aro spectrum rep, he just doesn't have the evidence in show for us to apply it to him in this comic. it's funny, for being hc as ace so often he sure is the most outwardly romantic/sexual turtle in the show lmao. one! cherry: "you're so cute, but you're so mean! why do i always go for your type?" two! astrogirl?? (whatever her name is) he is very very romantic with her. he has a type y'all. also just look at those two, he's a leg man lmao (bootyyshaker9000 anyone? ha!) anyway. and with the bromance/instant chemistry he had with that one guy in the purple dragons... Pan. or possibly Omni as he does seem to favor... cute brutal femme... Yeah. Omnisexual.

Watching all of the new doctor who clips about the TARDIS being wheelchair accessible now and the way that RTD responded to Ruth and others who mentioned wanting to be able to travel with the doctor and the sheer JOY shown in the episode really lifted my disabled spirits. I was actually crying I was so excited and overjoyed!

But I couldn't help but feel bittersweet because that's what I felt two months ago with Izzy Hands and his disabled arc with his leg and his community accommodating and supporting him...only for that finale to come around and crush me.

Doctor Who has always been a source of optimism for me. A place to feel included and understood, with the writers as far back as 2005 taking efforts to be kind and optimistic no matter what. They took so many stumbles along the way (I've talked about the handling of Martha and Moffat's, well, sexism and such plenty), but at the end of the day, the show was about renewal and kindness and perseverance. It made its omnisexual character immortal. It made its lesbians travel through time. It gave us disabled rep and Torchwood's messy glory and enough grief to fill an ocean and yet it kept telling us that you are safe. You can live. You can run and see the world and I will not be cruel to you. I will teach you how to deal with your pain and recover and grow and someday, it will all turn out alright.

I guess what I'm saying is that I'm really looking forward to the new season of Doctor Who and that I'm glad fanfic for OFMD caught me and held my hand and said the world is not cruel. You can live. You can keep running and living and loving and this is not the end for you.

You will see the world and it will hurt you and everything has its time and everything ends but life regenerates. It comes back.

Do you think it’s bad to change a character’s canon sexuality if you’re rewriting hazbin hotel completely? I would like to get the perspective of someone who is rewriting it, and definitely better at it then me. I feel like it’s not nearly enough lesbian rep in the Hellaverse but at the same time I also don’t really feel like adding ocs in the mix, I feel like there’s just so many bi and pan characters and vivziepop does it just so that the shippers can have fun. But at the same time I don’t know if it’s a bad thing to do.

Well maybe but I don't think it's bad but I really don't think I really like the ship though I need to change about their sexuality because Viv sucked at sexuality representation.

I feel the ship doesn't really match their vibes at all since there are to many gay soap opera and drama going on to this show and I don't really like how Viv makes to many Gays,Bi or Pans characters.

I keep seeing people saying that the Absolute Solver being a raging aro-lesbian, and honestly…yeah, I can see that. Most of the solver users that we know of are women. The female disassembly drones that we’ve seen (aka V and J) are thic—I mean, very intricately designed while the male ones (N) look like some guy. So yeah, the eldritch entity that ruined many lives and slaughters many more is a girl kisser. Girl power!
