not indirecting anyone but i keep seeing the take that sam has power over dean because dean is so attached to and dependent on him. like it’s everywhere. and its just soooo fundamentally flawed. that is not how anything works. not to sound like a broken record but that type of dynamic (where one partner, the aggressor, views themselves as in fact controlled/dictated by the whims of the other) is actually very standard in an abusive relationship…

whether or not sam has ‘power’ over dean in this way is functionally irrelevant because his ‘power’ extends to his ability to somehow, what, psychically manipulate dean into doing what he wants?? whereas dean’s ‘power’ over sam is making sure sam adheres to exactly what he’s decided sam should do and punishing him if he doesnt do that, and deciding he has ultimate control over sam’s own decisions about his life (see main plot events of s4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, so on and so forth��).

My one original experience is when I was 6, my older half sister that was in middle school was obsessed with Hetalia and would convince me that England was real, specifically this evil murderer cupcake version of him named Oliver or smth and she’d write letters to me saying it was him in glitter pens and hide them in my room and it was like the fucking tooth fairy or Santa, I just thought he was real and I would write letters to him about his bakery and shit and “he” would write back to me but he only came at night when I was asleep 😭😭😭

i saw a post about it, but i haven't seen the interview!! the odds of that are actually so crazy, and i IMMEDIATELY had thoughts about how the story could be changed to fit me reader<3 so i'm using this ask as my place to dump my silly little storyline i came up with (you can imagine either ryan or oliver as noah, i came up with it as i was watching ryan, but oliver as this character also hits different)

warnings: slight non-con, noah/ryan/oliver breaks into readers house

a quiet gasp escapes your throat as he pushes your back against the wall, his arms resting on either side of your head.

"you think you can get rid of me that easily, huh? you're mine." he says lowly, anger clear across his face. he reaches a hand down and runs the back of it down the side of your face, and the contact makes you shudder a breathy exhale.

“i’m not yours.” you tell him, your voice just barely audible as fear creeps into your belly. how did he get into your house? you hooked up one time, and it was great, but you don’t make any sense together. and either way, you knew there was something off about him as soon as he moved in next door, but he seemed so eager to get you into his bed. it lit a fire in your belly that you couldn’t fight off.

but this? you’re not sure if it was worth it.

that’s why when you left his house the next morning, your clothes haphazardly thrown on, and your panties nowhere to be found, you decided to block his number and try to avoid him as much as possible. it was hard though; he’s still your neighbour. and you’d be lying if you said you never thought about your night with him when you were going to sleep at night.

“yes, you are. what happened between us? it was perfect. why would you want to mess that up?” he asks, a mixed look of rage and desperation in his eyes. you can see the muscles in his arms flexing in the corner of your eye, and you swallow as you realize that you’re completely alone with him in the house.

“we don’t make any sense.” you tell him, keeping your voice light and sweet, although your fear is making your voice shake. you were so caught of guard by his advances because he’s just so attractive, and you’re not used to men like him picking you over your skinnier friends. he raises a brow, leaning back as he scoffs.

“why the hell not? you’re everything i want. i’d do anything for you, you know that.” he tells you, the anger slipping from his tone as your words race through his mind. how can you say that to him? after all he’s done for you. he even got rid of you very annoying, very clingy, best friend. she meant too much to you, and all she did was get in the way of you focusing on him.

“you really want me? you could have anyone.” you try to reason, but you can see the way he looks down at your body. the hunger in his eyes. it makes butterflies fill your stomach, and you know it shouldn’t, but you can’t help the desire pooling between your legs.

“is this because you’re insecure? baby i don’t care about that. i love everything about you. i showed you that. keep letting me show you how much i love you.” he purrs, leaning down to kiss your neck, hands moving down to your plush hips, pulling your lower half flush against him.

“you can’t love me, you hardly know me. we hooked up once, that’s it.” you whisper, instinctively tilting your head back as he nips and sucks on your skin. he pulls back from your neck with the same look of rage that you thought you had gotten rid of with your soft voice of reason.

“i do love you.” he snaps, hitting his fist against the wall. you flinch and let out a soft scream as his hand makes contact with the drywall right beside your head, and when you look over to where his fist landed, you can see the indent of his knuckles. “let me love you, please.” he says in a soft, pleading voice. the way he switches his emotions so quickly leaves you dizzy, and you look back up to meet his eyes, hands shaking as you put them on his chest.

“please.” you whisper, although you’re not sure what exactly you’re begging for. on one hand, you’re begging him to let you go, to leave you alone. but on the other, him showing you how much he wants you does make your heart hammer in your chest.

but he takes your pleading how he wants it, and his hands immediately go to the hem of your shirt. he pulls it off swiftly, and his lips meet your neck again, quickly moving down to your chest, his hands moving up to cup your breasts at the same time.

“my pretty girl. all mine.” he hums, chuckling when he hears your soft whimper. he knows you secretly enjoy his attention, and he’ll keep giving it to you until you admit it.

something about john winchester mischaracterisation just needles me inexplicably. i can deal with it if a fic is good otherwise but cmon. you have to Get Him. he loves the boys and he ruins their lives like come on….. if you don’t get that he loves them then how r u even getting dean’s character considering that dean is The Same in this manner. love can be bad love doesn’t change abuse it just complicates it etc etc.

unrelatedly but also relatedly, i don’t think he’d be actually homophobic because i don’t think he has time to care. i do however think dean would be absolutely convinced he is incredibly homophobic for unknown reasons. john probably makes like an offhanded comment about something being gay once and 15 year old dean (very attracted to men. genuinely no idea whatsoever. still feels intense rush of panic at the word) decides it must mean john desperately and intensely HATES gay people and proceeds to become world’s best baby homophobe for like a year before he starts to think Maybe Sammy’s gay (sam likes to read books) and cools down on the homophobia. also his heart was never really in it. but he still thinks john is homophobic and has also decided sam’s probably gay (sam is more attracted to women than dean is) so he worries about this a lot.

then one day john says extremely casually about sam Sometimes I wonder if he’s not a little queer, you know, and dean’s heart stops and he’s like What no of course not what and john’s like If it means he doesn’t get into as much trouble with girls as you seem to, I honestly don’t mind and dean’s just like. What. but by this point it’s far too late and all fragments of homosexuality have been far buried beneath the surface by his subconscious. Also it’s important that john WOULD be kind of annoyed by dean being gay. he already thinks sam is weird and has decided to love him anyway (although i’m not sure sam got the memo about being loved anyway so the effort was useless) so it’s ok if sam is gay (privilege of being the family freak!) but dean is meant to be mini him. #picking up girls. see that journal entry. he’d get over it though.
