Rand- literally the most guy ever, sad, gay, relatable, i can and have talked about him for hours, i want to squeeze him like a squeaky toy.

Dsmp!tubbo- this charcter changed my life, every single arc of his fundamentally altered the way i think, thank guns its friday, i could talk about him for hours, i was a ctubbo defender when it was contoversal, in my mind he and cranboo are raising michel in some other server and ctommy is being the worst babysitter known to man, at one point i drew out a new desgn for each of the eras.

My thoughts on Sanji’s Clear Clear Fruit thing in Thriller Bark: I don’t think it’s written to be 100% comedy but I also don’t completely buy the headcanons about it being related to his childhood. What I think the scene conveys is that Sanji constantly lowers himself to the level of the people he hates. This isn’t a guy who thinks he’s a worthy, valuable, or even “good” person. He tells Absalom that they’re “the same”, he’s just another pervert like any man in the world. But that scene is so ironic because Sanji’s actions prove completely otherwise. People always complain about what he says, but what about what he does? He protects Nami, puts her at first priority, and felt like even the act of dirtying her dress would be the greatest sin. On first glance Sanji vs Absalom is set up to be some sort of funny perv vs perv fight, like “haha, there’s a right way and a wrong way to be horny!” But up till this point, Sanji’s fights have always contained brief and restrained glances into his kindness and selflessness. He will show his enemy a glimpse of his kindness. Then, as if he’s caught himself lacking, instantly do a 180 and close himself up. Think the time he “forgave” Bon Clay then immediately kicking him. Think how he “believed” Jabra’s manipulation (which idk if it’s anime filler or not!). Think even about that time after Baratie when he was about to feed the sea king who attacked them, then decided to beat it up instead. Of course, these also serve as prime comedic moments. But Oda expertly merges his gags with actual thematic messages in ways that make you laugh and then feel a bit uncomfortable after thinking more about it (He does this to Sanji the most btw). Sanji is kind, but he’s afraid of being seen as kind. He needs to act like his love for Nami and Robin stems from perversion instead of genuine respect and adoration. He needs to act like his sacrifice for Zoro was a dick-measuring attempt. If you ask me I don’t think WCI was planned out at this point in the manga, but Oda was definitely hinting at the fact that there was something more to Sanji than his Baratie story.

ok now that stream over i will explain better when i say bbh's toxic love mindset explains all of his relationships, platonic, romantic, & familial

it's because HIS EMOTIONS ARE INTENSE!!! they are BIG and LOUD and he may express these emotions in unconventional ways (he is NOT human but that's the least of it) but he sure goes out of his way to make sure you notice (pranks), or his feelings are just natural (caring for and spoiling the egg babies). these emotions go unexplained, but they are there, and people misinterpret him so much because even if you DO ask, it's already established that he's a chronic liar and believing him could be a shot in the dark. but even LYING is one of these big emotions from the self-destructive side, the self-sacrificial side. "self-destructive" and "self-sacrificial" might look as to be opposites in the reason for why, but for q!bbh, they're both fueled by the same emotions. he's self-destructive because he's self-sacrificial, he's self-sacrificial because he's self-destructive, and it's because he cares too much. bigger than anyone has been able to understand.

you'd think an immortal would be numb to consequence at a certain point, but to q!bbh, consequence is EVERYTHING. he hasn't gotten over how quickly people and things can be lost, especially considering he's a reaper. so if q!bbh, as secretive as he is, can get all negative attention to him, not only does it help in lowering their expectations or view of him, but it also serves to make him a magnet for bad things. but if he's a magnet, he needs to care MORE because as he's said, disaster follows him wherever he goes, and being a magnet can hurt people. 'toxic love' is normal love to q!bbh, who taught himself to accept pain he feels, and not care to treat his wounds, for his hurt could be protecting someone else. it's 'not getting attached', it's 'when he does inevitably get attached he's overbearing', it's 'worrying about things that haven't happened', it's 'rewriting lies with more lies', and he's been doing this for so long that half of it he doesn't realize he's even doing it or that he could be 'too much'.

these big emotions, reactions, and actions, are natural. and to anyone else, he's just being dramatic and over the top. but in truth, that's just how big his feelings are. his love for his children is so large, he'd freeze hell over to get them back, but without an option to fight pre-purgatory, it originally manifested as him spiralling. his attachment to cucurucho is new since reviving, but since he was alone on & off for a while, he desperately clung onto any reinforcement he could get because even monsters want to be loved, to feel loved, and the chase made him reliant in a way that he refuses to let go of the constant he had during the quiet times, and if it makes him nuke spawn a couple times because he's desperate to be seen by who he's attached himself to, he'd do it, and im sure it wouldn't have been a first for him if we could put a magnifying glass to his past lives.

it's just natural, when the reason you get to be on earth in an eternal loop is because of rejection from what you still love despite your better judgement. because of your big emotions.

The whump in Escape from Earth-2 is just so interesting (as someone who’s watched it countless times and is currently watching it again). Here’s some thoughts (coherence will vary):

Jay goes completely still whenever Zoom shows up (aside from some shaking). Makes me wonder if he has a freeze response tbh.

Jesse on the other hand, backs away as much as she can, even trying to hide behind the pillar she’s chained to. And holy shit she looks so terrified— how could this trauma be swept under the rug so horribly??? Sigh

And godssss I have so many thoughts about Barry in this episode but I’ll just say a few *narrator voice* She did not, in fact, say ‘a few’. His Enter Zoom trauma is definitely in the background of this episode and the scene at the end of Welcome to E2. He’s so clearly scared, not just for himself but for Jesse, every time Zoom shows up and he tries to hide it (not very successfully imo). And he doesn’t actually talk to Zoom until Zoom enters his cell. Now there could be any number of reasons for that but I think it’s cause he couldn’t risk provoking Zoom into hurting Jesse (or Jay), but once Zoom was in his cell, he knew he’d be the one paying for it if he did. (Though that moment’s also when he figured out how to escape, and we know that Barry gets a little cocky when he thinks he has the upper hand— tbh I think it was a combo of those factors). Also don’t get me started on how Barry doesn’t even try to fight Zoom (in any of the scenes) because he knows he can’t beat him. (And again— he can’t risk Zoom hurting anyone. His nightmare where Zoom kills Patty comes to mind… You can’t tell me he didn’t have more of those. You can’t tell me he didn’t have at least one nightmare of Zoom dropping Cisco off that roof. And guess who’s right there in the lair in that scene). Anyways.

When Zoom phases into Barry’s cell, Jay shakes his head a little bit, almost like he knows exactly what’s going to happen. Filing this under ‘evidence that Zoom tortured Jay’

A Jay moment that absolutely stabs my heart is about half a second after Barry runs out of Zoom’s lair. First, he kind of hit his fist to the glass a little bit, in sync with Barry. Then Barry runs off and he gives the glass another small hit, and after that his head lowers ever slightly and he slumps a little bit into the glass— gods just watch the scene I can’t explain it well enough but GODS IT HURTS— SOMEONE GIVE HIM A DAMN HUG. Everyone else got away, but he was left behind with Zoom. I’m just *lies face down on the floor and sobs*

AND DON’T THINK I’M DONE TALKING ABOUT JESSE. “I used to think I could escape too… but there’s no way out.” Does anyone else remember that she was tied to the ceiling of her cell with rope at first? Just how unlikely is it that she got out of that rope and tried to escape? But Zoom caught her, threw her back in the cell, and made sure she couldn’t do that again by using a chain/manacle instead. Of course she’d feel hopeless after that. Nope I’m not done. Remember how defiant, how confident she was in the very beginning too? “[Harry]’ll find me, he’ll save me, and then he’ll kill you.” We know that Zoom canonically tortured her, and of course, that’s the quickest way to squash out defiance but still. That transition from anger and defiance, to that fear we see when Cisco vibes her off of Harry in Enter Zoom, to the Earth-2 episodes where she’s completely hopeless and just resigned to her situation (until Barry talks to her at least). It’s just so whumpy all the way around and I want to hug her.

Alright and now I have to circle back to Barry because THIS SCREENCAP—

I could look at this all day. GODS. The LONGING. He’s seeing Harry and Jesse reunite, and he’s happy for them, of course, but at this point he doesn’t think he can get out. Killer Frost hasn’t unfrozen Jesse’s manacle so he doesn’t see any other options or possibilities except for everyone else to escape— and leave him behind. He wants to get out so so bad, he wants to leave with them and go home but he doesn’t think he can. In this moment, to him, it’s either they leave without him or Zoom shows up and kills them all. And if it comes down to his everyone elses’ safety and lives versus his own— there’s no choice to make.

been stewing on this one for a while but i said i was gonna post more of my headcanons so here's a little bittersweet tidbit;

childhood was a really rough time for Diomedes and Sthenelus (and the other younger Epigoni as well) full of a lot of grief and sorrow and confusion, and the weight of your father's legacy crushing shoulders too young to uphold it or begin to understand it. Diomedes, for the most part, doesn't even remember Tydeus. All he really knows is the idealized version of him Athena and others hold him to. Sthenelus has fleeting memories of Capaneus but refuses to remember - he only resents. Their childhood was spent being trained up to be weapons.

But even so, I do think there were moments where they got to just be kids. They built their own little fort of escape somewhere they knew would remain hidden. It took weeks of stacking rocks with what little free time they had until it was perfect, and it was theirs, and it was somewhere where they didn't have to be wise beyond their years.

They eventually forgot about it as they got older. They sacked Thebes, Diomedes restored Oeneus to the throne, and then the Trojan War happened, and all the things in between being on the battlefield - getting married, becoming kings, Sthenelus even had children of his own. The fort lay forgotten and untouched, a reservoir of good memories they'd both buried a long time ago.

And then, when they're fleeing Argos, they find it again, reclaimed by the vines and the leaves. All their old stuff is in there still, little wooden swords and shields, animal and soldier figurines, drawings they etched into the rocks. It's the only place they ever had that wasn't overrun by sorrow, where they weren't forced to fill the shoes of men they don't (or refuse to) remember.

But there's just no time left. They have to leave it knowing they'll never see it again. All they can do is hope they can hold onto a fragment of the tranquility their younger selves buried there.
