Day 100

Today’s board is a special one, one that’s been clawing at my brain since I’ve seen it. Every once in a while I just, remember it exists and just take a moment to think about it. I’ve considered posting it a few times but I didn’t feel it was the right time to subject the world to this information. But we’ve been at this for 100 days, the big one O, over 3 months at this point. I think I’ve finally got comfortable enough with this blog to say this. I will TRULY never get over this eidolon. Especially since E6 is supposed to be the character in their most vulnerable, or peaceful (I’ve seen both interpretations ^^) state😭😭😭

I tend to interpret the E6 art as the character in their most vulnerable state, so this just… It makes sense, considering he’s in the egg™️ and has no way to defend himself + he’s literally a baby LMFAO

But it also makes me remember that in his character stories he was dreaming about his past life while he was in the egg (“In the dim abyss devoid of light, he seemed to have returned to the insides of a Vidyadhara egg, being ceaselessly churned in tumultuous waves and elusive dreams”) ☹️ really just stabs me in the heart. I don’t blame him for running from his past— even though running is never the best way to deal with things

BUT is we ever get another Dan Heng form (wether it be like M7 Hunt or a full-fledged playable Dan Feng…) I wonder what his E6 art for that will be🤔

I filmed a timelapse of my process for this quick one💓

Honestly not really happy with how this turned out & I’ll probably redo it😆 but I always love making process videos!!

I REALLY HAVE TO TRUST MY PROCESS🙏🙏🙏 these paintings always look AWFUL😳 until the very end but luckily I’ve painted enough of them to keep pushing through and not give up in tears bahahahahahah

1) I start out just painting the base colors. I have a dirty paint palette I NEVER clean😤 but tbh I like it bc every color I want is basically already mixed from a previous painting, and I like having all of the colors kind of blend together. If I need a different color though I’ve never had problems mixing to get exactly what I’m looking for💓

2) WAIT FOR IT TO DRY (I didn’t…you can see at one point I check the back of the page to make sure I didn’t destroy it completely). This paint dries SUPER fast…I am just impatient bc the next step is when it all starts to come together🥰:

3) COLORED PENCIL ON TOP!! I always make sure the paint covers almost all of the page except the parts I want to keep really white, because the colored pencil looks awful if it isn’t drawn on top of paint. I just sharpen them and go in with the small details, but I also love going crazy with the colors and using them to shade, add highlights, add extra pops of color etc. For example, on Bea’s shirt I used gold, dark blue, dark brown, normal brown, mauve, tan, olive green…I just like to experiment and have fun choosing the colors (esp ones that I think SHOULDN’T work but they DO🥰)

Sometimes I switch between the paint and the colored pencil bc the paint can be used to kind of “erase” any mistakes, but I can’t go too crazy or add a lot of water to it because I use the cheapest paper known to man and it gets destroyed SO EASILY 😫 all of the fanart I’ve drawn is in €1 notebooks

Things that No One Else Thinks About of Kaitou Joker!

This time: Hachi doesn’t know what’s happening, he just goes with the flow and I applaud him for it.

Joker, being the Mysterious™️ guy he is, does not tell Hachi jack shit. I don’t think Hachi even knew who Shadow was when he was actively hunting them and why he was beefing with Joker or why they looked practically like carbon copies of each other.

Joker never tells Hachi about Roko so he just meets Roko during the Queen confrontation ep mid-fucking-air and just… accepts it. Joker also never told him about Queen, who came in swinging a diamond sword mincraft style with bloodlust and a need for vengeance, so he just has to accept that some random girl, who turns out to be his mentor mentor’s granddaughter, has beef with him and wants to kill him.

Please note: this is specifically about Anime Joker. Manga Joker is a normal fucking guy and tells Hachi shit (source: Whistle, who has read the manga) while Anime Joker stares at Hachi for a bit after asking about The Key (don’t get me started on this) and Does Not Tell Him his Tragic Backstory™️

Side note: this is probably why Hachi believed Akai being an alien so easily. He’s never told shit and just has to go with it, so having a guy who can literally set himself on fire and have a magical girl transformation into a bird man was probably enough to convince him to just go with it.

To quote Whistle: “Hachi is the only person in the cast who isn’t deeply connected/shares a past with the rest of the gang, so he’s just in a constant state of being excluded purely due to a lack of context😭😭”

Like, even Ai’s had more context to Spade and Joker because they met as kids 😭 (the only one I can even think of that has the most context is Roko because he was already part of their lives when they were still children so even Ai is probably just going with the flow 50% of the time too)

Also, funnier bit, Hachi does not know Rose and Joker’s past with Shadow that intimately so he just has to watch his master and his master’s evil twin melt the man who orphaned/attacked the whole cast at some point alive so nothing could phase him anymore tbh.

Also in Whistle’s words: “Hachi just stumbled upon the biggest shitshow of a found family and somehow got picked up along the way”

Also, Hachi does not know of Clover’s past atrocities. He does not, in fact, know that Clover orphaned the whole main cast. He doesn’t know why everyone has beef with Clover other than Silver Heart and even then he had to time travel to the past to know about that or else he wouldn’t have known shit. Hachi is the only one with a moral bone in their body since he only has beef with Clover just to help the twins and help his mentor.
