He’s almost lulled into a false sense of security, by the time they get to the car. Almost. But Bruce is tense—his shoulders, his jaw; Jason has to look for it, but it’s definitely there—so he kind of sees the “talk” coming. That doesn’t stop him from stiffening when Bruce opens his mouth. From preemptively puffing up, like a cat that feels threatened trying to make itself look bigger.

The words are alright, at first. Bruce even calls his actions admirable. Still, Jason can sniff out a “but” a mile away. One is coming, and it’s gonna be a big one, he can tell.

And there it is. Violence isn’t always the answer. Jason scoffs at that—Bruce literally goes out every night to beat up bad guys. He’s training Jason to do the same thing! How fucking hypocritical can he get?

That’s when he drops a goddamn bomb and Jason’s jaw drops.

“What?!” His voice cracks, eyes going wide with disbelief as he sputters for a moment, outraged. “You’re grounding me from training? That’s such bullshit!” He doesn’t care if Bruce is going to give him shit for swearing, doesn’t even care about Alfred hearing it, because it’s the truth. “That’s not fair! I didn’t even use any of my Robin moves in that fight, Bruce! I didn’t do anything wrong!”

His arms cross tightly over his chest as he leans back in his seat, clearly agitated, feet tapping impatiently. “All I did was stand up for someone. That guy was an asshole, B, but it was just a regular fight! It was self-defense.” Well, not quite. “Regular defense,” he corrects. “I didn’t even—” He stumbles for a moment, face flushing in a mix of frustration, embarrassment, and anger. “I just punched him like I would’ve before. I didn’t even use any of my moves, not one! There wasn’t any special training or anything, it was just a regular fight.”

With a long, frustrated huff, he slouches in his seat, arms still crossed. He glares straight ahead, not wanting to look at someone else he wants to punch in their stupid face, now. “All I did was stand up to a bully. I was doing what you taught me to do and now I’m getting punished for it? That’s not fair.”

Bruce still doesn’t appear pleased with said repercussions or the aftermath, so he merely leaves with a gentle hand on Jason’s shoulder as he steered him away from the Headmaster and towards the door. 

“ Of course, in the interest of integrity, I’d have my lawyers check the school’s bylaws. “ He added, before he opened the door. “ Just to be safe, of course. “ 

And he flashes the older man a polite smile that drops as soon as the doors close and its silence between himself and his ward until they get to the car where Alfred had been waiting. He sits beside Jason then, still ruminating with a plan, even if a simple call from his lawyer should help him devise something proper. 

Perhaps he’ll just leave it to the experts. 

And it’s only then again that he addressed the boy properly, trying his best to release the tension in his jaw and shoulders ; sometimes a hard feat for a man that has prepared his whole life for war.

His gaze soft, trying, at least. 

“ We need to talk about your actions, Jason. “ He started gently. Neither a scolding nor a reprimand. But perhaps, still, something close. “ I think what you did was admirable. And I don’t think it’s ever wrong to fight cruelty and injustice when you see it. “ He continued, hoping the boy was still listening. “ Because too often ─ the world doesn’t change unless you do something about it. “ 

A heavy intake of breath. A gaze over his boy and  a hand lightly ruffling his hair before he pulled it back to rest over his knee. Looking out the window. Recalling a similar fight between a few boys and himself. Their names no longer carved in the walls of his memory but the blood on the asphalt is. 

“ However, it doesn’t mean, Violence is always the answer. “ He brought his eyes gravely back to the boys. “ Your fists are now weapons. I need to know you know how to treat it as such. ” A moment of pause as he then pointed to his temple with a sternness in his words. “ Especially, when you’re so much more clever than that. “

He pulls his hand back again, calm and steady. Letting the words hang in between them for a few more moments. 

“ No training for a week. “

mmmmmm read a disciple shen yuan/shizun luo binghe fanfic about two days ago where the first chapter was the Immortal Conference arc, and SQQ was the one who had to be pushed into the abyss (he was still the villain) except Luo Binghe was refusing and was like, lowkey losing his mind about SQQ being so close to the edge. SQQ ended up having to be the one to fall in himself because of the system's punishment system. The rest of the fic is leading up to that moment. But like, MMM i've been obsessively thinking about that first chapter for DAYS ever since.

now i've been in svsss for a grand total of *checks watch* a week. but god obsessed with that. I want to write/read a fic where disciple SQQ goes a little nuts down there. Like keep all of the things that make SQQ, SQQ, but just. Throw in a little bit more trauma in there. A little bit of a mental break. Let him go a little nuts as a treat. Just a tad unhinged. I wanna see him go, just a little, "god fuck it, i've tried so hard to change this shitty story's outcome and it feels like everything i've done has been for nothing. I'm going to die in this world no matter what I do, I've been doomed from the start, so might as well die the way I want to." and he just, breaks a little! Under all the stress.

He still retains the traits that makes shen yuan, shen yuan, like his overwhelming kindness. But he's just! yk. A little less patient. Paranoid. Jumpy. Colder. A little more aloof and closed off. A little more Shen Jiu. He's no asshole child abuser, but he was a Number One Hater in his past life and he's leaning into that old habit a little more now.

(On a totally coincidental not-at-all related note, there's not enough SJ-and-SY-are-the-same-people fics out there that i've found. This is totally unrelated...)

The Endless Abyss turns the mind into an over-sharpened blade, and SQQ is both fascinated and perhaps a little excited to explore a place that doesn't have a lot of info on it in the mortal realm, but still terrified out of his mind. And he's no Luo Binghe, he doesn't have the sheer brute strength and power to just bulldoze his way through, so he has to be a lot more sneaky and cunning if he wants to survive.

The fic itself role-swapped LBH and SQQ so that SQQ was the half-demon (which lowkey fucks) and LBH the human, but I'm equally-if-not-more obsessed with the idea that LBH remains the half-heavenly demon and SQQ the human. If only because I keep thinking about SQQ befriending some demons (particularly and specifically a group of succubi) and they grow very attached to this Human Cultivator so through magic plot stuff they create some kind of seal/illusion/talisman that makes SQQ appear as a demon because a human cultivator in the endless abyss may as well be the equivalent of putting a giant neon target on your back.

And iirc Shen Jiu was taught demonic cultivation by that one guy(?? i've only been here a week so im not caught up in ALL of the lore yet) so that could totally happen here.

(On the other end of the realms, poor Shizun Luo Binghe is just. losing his fucking mind over losing his most precious and beloved disciple. About .5 seconds from burning down the peaks himself. somebody sedate him.)

The Endless Abyss sucks and SQQ is having a really terrible time and can feel himself going lowkey mad, but also holy shit look at all this WORLD-BUILDING. look at all this flora and fauna, and oh if he had the equipment for it he'd be writing all of this down. ALL OF IT. He was kinda-sorta-already planning on never leaving the Abyss as some sort of fucked up self-exile and self-preservation thing, but now he might? actually just?? never leave if he can help it, like he lowkey likes it down here.

anyways the next time anyone ever sees SQQ again he's got hair so long its almost touching the ground and he's either in rags and half-feral or he's been completely dolled up by his adoptive succubi sisters and still about three seconds from biting anyone who tries to touch him. (he's also lowkey trying to book it back down to the abyss even if he has desperately missed all of his friends and shizun)

Everytime I look at Tumblr and see the tl I remember why I hate endgame with a passion you couldn't understand.

They fucked up Steve and Bucky so bad (yes, Bucky too bc suddenly he doesn't matter/isn't even a secondary character that deserves to be near Steve)

It's so funny to me (not) bc they talked about gay characters being in the movie at panels and interviews and even talked about Stucky at some point (basically queerbaiting) for then... Steve not even acknowledging Bucky. An awkward and impersonal hug doesn't cut it.

And Steve suddenly yearning and talking about Peggy? When he didn't even mourned her that bad and already had let her go ages ago? They knew they fucked up in CATWS with Steve and Buckys relationship, so they tried to distance them and then inserted Peggy bc ofc

(they possibly didn't have the time for a new character and they already had fucked up pairing Nat and Bruce and Wanda and Vision). Steve didn't have anyone else he cared about so they couldn't give him a new girlfriend. So they used Peggy AGAIN.

I'm fucking pissed off because they did the worst character assassination and friendship assassination possible. Every movie of Cap America revolved around Steve saving Bucky at some point and him caring about him above all else, and you want me to believe that Steven Grant Rogers didn't care about him when Bucky died in front of his eyes? AGAIN? That Peggy's death was more important and impactful for him? If that was the case then why the fuck did he crash the plane then? If he cared so much about Peggy since forever?

No, that was just lazy writing and a way to reinforce Steve's sexuality "He can't be gay and you can't say that bc he LOVES PEGGY"(even tho he only kissed her once, even tho he crashed the plane and didn’t give her the coordinates, he didn't really care that much after all) they could have paired him with Nat in later movies, but they didn't.

That's why I only raise my eyebrows a lil when people say that x character will be gay canonically in a marvel movie/series. Is more than possible they won't. And if they are they're Deadpool, a secondary character no one cares about (obscure in lore too, so they can cut them off) or is plain queerbaiting again (because yes, even if you don’t see Steve and Bucky’s relationship as romantic, they DID QUEERBAIT IT)

Steve and Buckys relationship wasn't even written in a romantic way (you can ship them or not), but they tried so hard to rectify Steve's heterosexuality in endgame, that they fucked up their character arcs on purpose. And now they will always feel hollow and inconclusive. A bad taste in the mouth, a painful reminder of what it was and a what? 11 year long? characterization.

Idk man, I know I've talked about this more than three times, but omfg Tumblr reminds me why I hate that fucking movie!!! It's not my fault!!!

Also the bit with Johnny Storm in Deadpool and Wolverine was also a dig (a fuck you if you will) to the fans bc Deadpool explicitly calls him Cap. And it implies that Steve as a character (not that old Steve nonsense) won't be back.

It's funny they've remade over and over again some movies (Fantastic 4, Spiderman) changed actors for characters (James/war machine, Bruce) and they include them in the multiverse/plot, but they won't do the same to some movies and some characters when they fuck up their stories, because they know if they do, they will have to acknowledge WHY they did it. Like with James/war machine changing actors.

So yeah, that's one of the reasons I don't care about Marvel anymore.

But the point stands. Steve couldn't be in DaW bc that would imply he's an alternative one or that Old!Steve was an alternative one or wasn't even Steve to begin with. But they couldn't do that ofc, no, bc that would give the fans hope in seeing Steve and Bucky together once again. So they did a dig at the fans bc "haha you thought it was Steve, but it's Johnny!"

The thing is that they fucked up Steve Rogers's arc on purpose (Bucky's too, and others charas too tbh) and now they expect the fans to accept everything they give us with open arms. And imho I won't accept shit.

Most people don't gaf bout the new charas bc they only are presented in series not everyone watches (only available in one place) or are presented with characters that are dead now or as a replacement for the og characters. They aren't interesting on their own (not really, at least in mcu) and that's why most of the new stuff isn't liked as much. If they wanted to present more characters the opportunity passed already.

Also now if you want to watch and really understand 1 movie (if you don't read the comics too) you need to watch like 20 other movies and 5 shows. it's fucking exhausting.

been looking in tags for a few days now to see if anyone else found the whole high cloud quintet and related story to be a bit.....poorly written, nonsensical, contradictory, full of plot holes and loose ends, etc. apparently i'm not the only one. (and i'm not even talking about shipping stuff, because any time I saw someone mad about bad writing, someone always replies to be homophobic and laugh about failed ships. weirdos.) it could have been so good but was thrown into the garbage for the most part (IF you noticed all the plot holes and contradiction. if not, then it's a fine enough story tbh. Fun note. Idk way but I would think that Gregory and cassie would share a minecraft world before the ruin and animatronics cassie had happened. and sead world Witch Gregory dasent have back on up his harddrive.

I dunno if Gregory is that much of a shit honestly. I like to think Roxy uses her security node powers to ban him from like half the plex at least. But ya know... Gregory choosing to terrorise them all, relying on the fact no one can leave the Plex to get away with his crimes is pretty funny if Cassie can just fucking follow him lmao he did NOT expect that!

For the Minecraft server thing? I've already thought about the kind of shit Roxy and Cassie would get up to if they saw someone they thought was Gregory in an online game. They see red. This guy is gonna get destroyed. Absolutely obliterated. Sometimes Vanessa plays with him and she acts as a double agent on occasion for shits and giggles. Roxy and Cassie have done a bit with her where Vanessa's their secret spy that's been captured by Gregory so they have to try and get to Vanessa to protect her... and then Vanessa just kills them both at the last minute to steal the victory from them lmao they have fun

On a Minecraft server though? If Roxy and Cassie have played enough to know how to use command blocks and stuff, then nah they're not that cruel as to fuck up someone's Minecraft build. HOWEVER they CAN build an exact replica of his house but upside down right beneath his floor. Roxy sets up redstone traps for him and Cassie builds a maze around where he was when he logged out so he's trapped until he finds a way out. Gregory has logged on one day to his house full of water and the Drowned mobs and it's an absolute nightmare to clean up.

He tries to get them back of course, but despite his best efforts, he can't for the life of him find Roxy and Cassie's base. Why? Because it's an absolute age away. They get back and forth via the Nether that Gregory almost never goes to and take apart the portal they use every time to cover their tracks.

If he ever does find them and destroy anything, they actually do have backups of the world since Cassie's dad set the server up for them and they just. Revert the world back to a previous version. No harm done, right? I don't even know what he would do, but I think it would be funny if he was planning to fill their house with mobs and when he found it, he was devastated to learn it was on a mushroom biome island that they'd both painstakingly decorated the surrounding ocean with patches of coral and sea cucumbers. Like, to fill their house with mobs, he'd have to lure them across an ocean and that's just not fun man. Maybe he gets very bored and very very carefully does it with a single nametagged creeper, which did jumpscare them but did basically nothing lmao

Girl like. The reason he said "this is how it should be" and faced death with a smile....is cuz he wanted to die. For 2 years he sat there thinking he was worthless and deserved to die. If he hadn’t be shot, his death would’ve been suicide, he was fully planning to die in a gutter somewhere undetected. When saying "this is how it should be" hes literally saying "don’t cry because I’m dying, my death is a good thing actually because I fucking suck and you are better off without me". I don’t think that’s badass even slightly, it’s actually really sad and really shitty. Shinjiro is so convinced that he deserves to die and hates the idea of anyone giving a shit about him because he literally can’t wrap his mind around the idea that he will be missed when he’s gone, that his death is a bad thing actually. And his last words were meant to be comforting because he fully did not intend for anyone to be there when he died, he intended to die alone, so he says them as a reminder that he’s not worth crying over

Personally, if it were me, if I was holding my dying best friend in my arms who was deeply depressed and suicidal and he said "this is how it should be" uh. I wouldn’t admire him for it??? Like am I losing my mind when I say the way this game handles Shinji is bad or is anyone else seeing this too 😰
