Hi everyone. I've been asked by Oday (@oday-akram) to share his story with you.

Oday is only 19 years old and he is from a family of 8. Oday is a hard-working student and would often study by candlelight at night, trying his best to learn even amid the sound of explosions. He dreams of continuing his studies in university. Yet instead of going to lectures and pursuing his degree, Oday, the eldest son in his family, now bears the burden of raising funds so that his family may buy food and uncontaminated water.

Their house has been destroyed. The tent they are sleeping in is constantly flooded, which means that they often have to sleep on wet pillows and sheets soaked with dirty water! They live in constant danger, and they have had friends who have been killed by the bombings.

Oday is fundraising to do his best to help his family and all his younger siblings. He also wishes to continue his studies after working so hard to get into university. Please help him!

Hello, my name is Oday Akram Albardawil, a 19-year-old Palestinian from Gaza.

I live in the midst of a difficult war-torn environment that greatly impacts my life and my family’s life.

I grew up facing daily challenges that threaten our safety, but I have never given up on my ambition and desire to get a quality education and secure a better future for my family.

My family is also struggling with the harsh conditions, and we urgently need to move to a safer area where we can live with dignity and without the daily threats.

I hope to secure a safe place for my family and complete my university education so that I can build a better future for all of us.

Oday is 19 years old and is raising money to help his family of 8 people survive through the genocide.

Oday recently injured himself while clearing rubble from his friend’s street, it was cleaned, bandaged up, and by the next day he was back clearing the rubble… keeping his balance with a crutch. He deserves rest, but the conditions he lives in does not allow it.

I cannot imagine how exhausting and painful it must be to clear rubble while injured.
