(MAJOR 2HATS / SASASAP SPOILERS ) I had to make comics for school and it was said that it could be about anything, provided it was three pages long and all inked traditionally, so of course I decided to make a comic about loop and Siffrin. The dialogue in the comic is from the movie The Devil’s Backbone (2001) and the formatting of the comic was inspired by this really cool Revolutionary girl Utena edit which you can find here. I plan on retouching this and completing a digital version later. All art, artists notes and written dialogue transcript is under the cut:
WRITTEN TRANSCRIPT :
(PANEL 1, PAGE 1)- “Hey Loop, can I ask you a question?” // “Of course you can stardust! What is it?”
(PANEL 2, PAGE 1) - “What’s a ghost?”
(PANEL 3, PAGE 1) - (narration) “Good question…”
(PANEL 4, PAGE 1) - (narration) “A ghost is..”
(PANEL 1, PAGE 2) - (narration) “A tragedy doomed to repeat…time and time again.”
(PANEL 2, PAGE 2) - (narration) “An instance of pain, perhaps?”
(PANEL 3, PAGE 2) - narration “Something dead, which seems to be alive..”
(PANEL 4, PAGE 2) - (narration) “An emotion suspended in time, like a blurred photograph”
(PANEL 5, PAGE 2) - (narration) “Like an insect..trapped in amber”
(PANEL 1, PAGE 3)- (narration) “A..”
(PANEL 2, PAGE 3) - (narration) “..Ghost..”
( PANEL 3, PAGE 3) - (narration) “..Is”
(PANEL 4, PAGE 4) “..Me.”

there are two evan rosiers to me. and i love fucking freak evan, dearly. i love batshit insane, obsessed-with-each-other rosekiller. i love evan who is unhealthily infatuated with barty and dissects dead animals and is joined at the hip to pandora.
but i also adore shy evan, isolated evan, evan who has never learned how to communicate his emotions and so has just convinced himself that he doesn't have any. evan who feels like he's pulling out his own teeth every time he tries to have a conversation with someone. evan and barty who seem to just keep missing each other, who communicate through bitten lips and icy stares across a room. evan whose best friend is regulus black, because they can spend hours in silence together, and they'll never ask one another what's wrong. evan who only gets barty when he's drunk or too horny. evan who thinks he's just not made to be anybody's first choice. evan who can't see anything about himself that anyone would like.
