Prompt explanation, part 1!
Hello, our lovelies! Obito Week is coming with big steps, so it's about time we share some thoughts about prompts from the bingo! For the next couple of days, we will post 5 prompts per day, to get you more familiar with them!
Remember, that we'd love to see your interpretation! What we are showing here, are just examples, feel free to experiment, keep it sfw, or just add some spice to your work!
Any AU - As simple as it is, choose any Alternative Universe that you like. Would it be Everyone Lives AU? Or maybe you want to throw Obito into our times, our reality, and set your creation in Modern AU? Or maybe, you have a little angsty mood just perfect for some Hanahaki AU? The choice is yours!
Regret - To feel sorry about something, whether it happened or not. To regret can also mean to miss, mourn, or dislike something, or someone. Whether it's a decision, a thought, or a dear person, it’s not always a bad thing to regret…
“You’re late!” - Running late, what an annoying thing… Who of us wouldn’t be angry if we would have to wait for that one friend every damn time? Obito is well known for running late, but maybe, just maybe this time he is waiting for someone? Or maybe it’s just a story about how Obito got in trouble again, and for the n-th time, he wasn’t on time?
Family - “group of people who are closely related to one another (by blood, marriage or adoption); kin; in particular, a set of parents and their children; an immediate family.” Related or not, the family can be an important part of one’s life. We know only about Obito’s grandma, maybe this relationship deserves some creation? Or, do you have an idea for a story and/or art about Obito’s parents? Or his family is something else, something he created of his own - team, lovers, friends?
Clan - Uchiha is one of the noble clans of Konohagakure, and we know its history from the founding of the village to its downfall. We know who stood behind the eradication of it… But above all, Obito is an Uchiha. He can hate the clan, lead to its demise or renounce it, or absolutely the opposite - care about its future, wanting to prolong its name, maybe even creating a family that would carry on the line. It’s up to you!
Stay tuned for the next one, and it's you have any doubts, feel free to drop an ask!
And remember to like and share the Obito Week Bingo Card, and help us spread the word about our favorite Uchiha man ♥️

A Beach Day with Akatsuki
Summary: how would each of the Akatsuki members be in the cliche anime beach episode.
Warnings: mentions of deaths and alcoholic beverages. SFW.
Characters: Pein; Konan; Tobi; Zetsu; Itachi; Kisame; Deidara; Sasori; Hidan and Kakuzu (from Naruto).

Kisame
Kisame liked the idea from the beginning.
As soon as he gets to the beach he goes straight to the water.
Likes to surf.
And it's really good at it.
He doesn't wear sunscreen.
He spends practically all day in the water.
He just goes out to pull someone out to sea with him.
Or to buy some ice cream.
He randomly comes out of the water sometimes and brings a very nice shell or rock and gives it to someone.
He tries to pull Itachi out to sea with him just to provoke him.
Kisame would come out of the water in the afternoon to watch the sun go down.
While drinking something refreshing, like coconut water or a drink.
That man was so comfortable.
It upsets him to have to leave the beach.
The next day he is locked in his room, sunburnt.
He doesn't want to go out for doesn't have to overhear Itachi saying "I told you" for refusing to apply sunscreen.
Still, he really liked his day at the beach and would do it all over again.

Kakuzu
He didn't want to come.
Like, beach is just a warm place with salt water and sand, what's fun about that? That's what he thinks.
He is really in a bad mood.
He can't even cool off in the sea because he can't swim due to his stitched up body.
He tries to relax sitting in the shade of the parasol while reading a book.
But any noise bothers him.
And a beach with Deidara, Hidan and Tobi is sure to be noisy.
He eventually decides to walk to the edge of the sea away from the group while checking his bingo book.
Was that or kill those three.
In the end, when he is well away from the group he manages to enjoy the beach a little.
He sits near some palm trees.
The waves gently lap at him feet in a relaxing manner.
And finally the silence that he loves so much.
He would only reappear in the group in the evening, when started to cool down.
He is not sad that he has to leave.
And he would never admit that he enjoyed the quiet moments he spent alone.
•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸
Tobi/Obito
Ever since he learned that him be going to the beach he has been extremely anxious.
He is wearing those bathing suits that cover the whole body, like surfers do.
But he doesn't surf.
Yes, he is wearing the mask even on the beach.
Doesn't stop at any moment.
He would go into the sea to jump the waves and end up falling as soon as they took their eyes off him.
Then he would get up as if nothing had happened.
He has been bothering Deidara since they arrived.
"Wow Deidara-senpai, I didn't know your abdomen was so defined" - would be just one of the comments he make to tease the blond.
Tobi is a good boy, so he put sunscreen on the parts that his suit doesn't cover.
Takes too much ice cream and ends up freezing his brain.
He would not want to leave the beach.
Would only do it when it was getting dark.
Definitely a happy child enjoying his day at the beach.
•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸
Hidan
For Akatsuki to be able to go to a beach it would have to be isolated.
And well, I'm saying this because Hidan was responsible for offering Jashin anyone who showed up bothering.
He's a narcissist and made a point of getting a swimsuit that didn't cover too much and value his ass.
At first, he avoids getting into the water because he doesn't want to get his hair wet.
But when he enters the sea it's scary to see how he spends hours underwater since he can't die by drowning.
Enjoys bothering Kakuzu... as usual.
He purposely wets Deidara's hair.
Hidan wasn't worried about sunscreen.
After all, he's immortal, what difference does it make?
What no one knows is that he ended up going through the fear of losing the pale shade he likes so much.
He has who brought the alcohol.
He keeps drinking and bothering others with silly pranks.
Leave the beach at the end of the sunset already drunk.
He found the day at the beach fun.
After all he didn't have to work and spent all day drinking and making fun of the members, why would he complain?
•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸
Zetsu
He likes sunbathe.
Obviously him don't wear sunscreen, because he don't need it.
Would avoid going into the sea because of the salt water.
White Zetsu wants to make a sand castle.
But doesn't work out too well because black Zetsu refuses.
He likes to drink a lot of water.
Zetsu purposely walks away from the group.
He likes to be alone and it is no surprise to anyone.
He finds the sound of the sea very relaxing.
White Zetsu wants to take the little shells he finds home.
Black Zetsu wants to eat the crabs he finds.
At some point he would end up sleeping.
Would only wake up when the sun started to set.
And then finally would return to the group to leave.
White Zetsu really enjoyed the day at the beach and think was relaxing.
Black Zetsu didn't think it was bad, but he wouldn't admit it and would say it was a waste of time.
•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸
Deidara
“Finally a rest day” - that's what he thought, until he saw how Tobi can be even more irritating on the beach.
The beach is a very inspiring place for an artist.
So Deidara is trying not to waste all his explosive clay on Tobi.
He wants to tan, not burn, so he put on sunscreen.
Deidara knows and likes to surf.
And he's annoyed that Kisame is better than him at this.
He was avoiding going into the sea until Hidan wet his hair.
His bathing suit is the prettiest.
This boy has style.
He would retreat at some point to make sand castles without being seen.
Prefer to eat slushies.
Would want to compete with Itachi on something.
And would say he cheated when he lost and walk away from the group.
Collect shells <3
He tries to sunbathe, but Deidara is the kind of person who can't sit still.
So it's useless.
The sunset is art for him, after all it is temporary.
Appears out of nowhere in the group when they are leaving.
At the end of the day he's sulking.
Because the day at the beach was not what he expected.
… But he liked it.
•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸
Itachi
To be honest, he doesn't really like the beach.
Like, he can't deny the place is beautiful, but what is he going to do here?
He ends up sitting in the shade of the parasol watching others have fun.
Most of the shells Kisame brings from the water are for him.
He obviously use sunscreen.
And brought it, in case anyone forgot.
In fact, the bag with everything needed for a day at the beach is his.
He doesn't really like the idea of going into the sea.
The most he'd do is get his feet wet because it's relaxing.
He's the one who bought Kisame's ice cream while he was getting out of the water.
He's not paying attention to Deidara's taunts.
And he made no effort to beat him.
He likes the sound of the sea.
Take the opportunity to rest for a while.
He ends up getting so relaxed and quiet you could swear he's sleeping sitting up.
Itachi finds the sunset a bit melancholy but beautiful.
Is eager to return to the group's hideout.
The next day he know that Kisame doesn't want to leave his room because he's sunburned.
He didn't think the day at the beach was all bad, but he would have preferred to go somewhere else.
•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸
Pein
Honestly, he only accepted all this because of Konan.
Doesn't like warm places, so the beach is not his favorite place.
He came just to make sure that nothing bad would happened.
He refers to Hidan, Deidara and Tobi in the same place for more than 5 minutes.
And he doesn't want anyone to bother Konan either.
Konan who reminded him to wear sunscreen.
Pain likes to eat watermelon when he is at the beach, is refreshing.
He won't go into the sea, don't even try.
Doesn't like ice cream very much.
He doesn't really like sweets in general, they make him thirsty.
He notices when someone moves away.
Being honest, he is just waiting for the day to end.
He understands why they think sunsets are beautiful, him thought too when he saw how Konan admired the sky.
Pein makes sure that everyone is present as they come back.
Tobi tests his patience by refusing to return "so soon".
He understands that a rest is necessary... But for him it was just a wasted day.
•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸
Konan
She was who gave the idea to go to the beach.
Konan likes to sunbathe, even though she's very pale.
Hoped that this day would be at least a little relaxing for Pain.
Konan would read a book in the shade while listening to the sound of the waves.
Likes to drink refreshing drinks, eat scratch cards, eat watermelon, etc.
She is enjoying the moment.
Would go into the sea to cool off a bit, but she would be quick.
Konan is very stylish, so her bikini makes her look radiant.
She really wants to play in the sand for a while.
But as we know she is shy, and ends up being embarrassed.
Didn't approve of the idea that Hidan could kill anyone who came along.
But her understand why Pein thinks it's necessary.
She loves the different shades that appear in the sky as the sun goes down.
Left the beach a little reluctantly.
She who manages to convince Tobi to leave.
Konan liked her day at the beach but wishes she had enjoyed it more.
•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸
Sasori
He wonders why he had to come along.
Like, there's nothing for him to enjoy on the beach.
Not that he can't go into the sea, but he's a puppet, the job he'd take to get the water out of his body.
Not to mention that salt water can wear out his body.
Definitely out of the question.
The only problem is that all that sand and hot sun just reminds him more and more of his old village.
He doesn't have a problem with the heat at all, he actually likes it.
He would try to distract himself by looking for pretty rocks.
Kisame would notice and bring some for him.
He'd be so focused on this that he wouldn't realize he'd ended up walking away from the group.
He ended up getting wet when he picked up a rock too close to the sea and a wave came to meet him.
He returns to the group grumpy after that.
Sasori lies down waiting for the sun to dry him and ends up sleeping.
Hidan and Deidara bury him in the sand.
He hasn't seen the sunset and is just grumpy wanting to go back to hiding.
But he is taking the rocks he found with him.
He doesn't want to repeat the experience.

Yandere! Obito x Reader Scenario
I'm genuinely so unwell for yandere Obito right now. Or maybe that's just me about Obito in general.... This is a very long post, and decently canon compliant. I'm willing to write more, but this specific storyline has been in my brain.
-Obito didn't start off as a yandere. He was the sweet and kind boy we all know. He understood boundaries and right from wrong. Its why he was able to love Rin, but never try to force her to love him back.
-When he sees Rin die, he truly believed there was no one else in the world who cared about him. His grandmother was dead, and after Kakashi was the one to kill Rin, any respect he had for his teammate died.
-Though Madara's manipulation of the boy convinced him rather easy to give up on the world, a small part of him wondered if he is truly alone. With the task he was taking up to become the savior of the world, he needed allies.
-As he replayed his childhood over and over in his mind, he realized that someone else besides Rin cared about him, you. You often chatted with him, but he never really thought much of it. You weren't Rin after all. However, he did remember that you asked about his grandmother, didn't tell him off about being late, and even offered to tutor him once in a while.
-You even told him that you supported his dream of being Hokage. Of course you had to explain that Rin was the one who told you about it. Obito would have never have confided in you about his dreams.
-However, that was then. He had much to consider now especially with Kakashi's "betrayal" still burning his heart.
-He had a lot of time to think about what he should do about you. How would you fit in his dream world? Would you want to help him?
-Most of his worries centered on whether you still cared about him for all these years. Surely you of all people would have moved on. After all, its not as if he was totally sure your feelings were even strong enough to be useful to him.
-One day, when he expected to spend sometime of his own at Rin's grave, he saw you walking around. You paid respects to the war monument running a gloved finger over his name. Bingo. He could work with that.
-Something irked him though. If he wasn't Obito anymore, how could he bring you over to his side? What could "Madara" say that you'd be willing to listen to? No, no that wasn't the real problem. He could find a way. The dark circles under your eyes were enough for him to be certain that more deaths than his had effected you.
-So then what was it? Something told him he'd know if he spent some time studying you. Within two days, he was able to find out anything he needed to know about your schedule, including where you lived.
-He didn't know what he was looking for as he scanned your apartment. It was plain and about what he had expected from what he remembered about you. He almost left as soon as he arrived, but he still lacked the answers he had come there for.
-A rather innocent selection of framed photos sat on your desk. Some of your family, some of your friends now, some of your summoning animals, all of these didn't stick out much in his mind. While there was none of you and a singular person, he just assumed that any romantic trysts were short lived for you. He pushed down the feeling of relief he had at the thought.
-In your bedroom, he saw it. It was clearly a shrine. Though it was nothing like picture board he had of Rin. It was truly a shrine to pay respects to the dead. A well used incense stick sat precariously in its holder next to a very small picture frame. He might have passed over the sight if it weren't for the fragrance of fresh flowers mixing with the smell of ash. The little vase was filled with wildflowers and a singular chrysanthemum. It felt a bit eerie even to him staring at the image of the boy he once was.
-He wondered, do you die every day when you wake up like he did? Did you... miss him? Clearly he was important to you otherwise it wouldn't be his picture sitting there. You must have loved him.... You must still love him. This was perfect! All he needed was to convince you that you could be with him in the Infinite Tsukuyomi, right?
-Once the idea latched into his head it just wouldn't leave him. The thought that you'd do anything for him. That as long as it was him, you'd be willing to betray everyone. No else mattered to you right? No one else had the honor of being prayed for every day so it had to be true. His thoughts about your devotion intoxicated him. He wanted to throw caution into the wind, but his desires would be fulfilled much later. The genjutsu's version of you would get to confess to him and he'd let you have a taste of him before he married Rin. The fake you who cried for the fake him wasn't someone he needed. Certainly, he could wait.
-He couldn't.
-You start to notice things missing in your apartment. At first it was benign things, like a worn out hair band or a pair of chopsticks you ate with more than the others. You chalked those things up to carelessness on your part.
-Next, the number of flowers you placed in the vase seemed to change. Usually it was the wildflowers you picked from the forest, which didn't bother you. Maybe you dropped one on the way back home. The week the carnation went missing, you pretended that you didn't remember buying it.
-Then, came a bra or panties you swore up and down you knew were in your dirty clothes. You particularly liked them, but maybe your non-shinobi friend that looked after your apartment accidentally took them home when she helped wash your laundry during your last mission.
-Finally, you noticed your journal from when you were a kid missing. It wasn't something you handled much so you just assumed that you lost it in moving. It hurt since the little trinkets you kept taped to the pages were all you had of some of people now.
-Obito kept your things in the Kamui dimension. They were the safest there. Where he could protect them. Especially your diary. His most prized possessions. It was so personal. It was oddly thrilling to be the hero , the object of desire, the prize to win. He'd never felt so loved.
-Zetsu would have bring him out of his stupor. He was wasting time stalking you. Obito would have to remind him that he was the one in charge. However, he had much to do and he needed to move pieces around in other villages. He'd have to come back for you if he fond the time.
-Obito would try to manipulate things to get you to desert the village. Maybe he'd ensure a close teammate of yours was killed or that you'd see a particularly cruel atrocity so you'd be disillusioned with the world. He wants you to come with him willingly. Pawns that weren't staunchly loyal would only hurt him in the long run. He would hate to have to put you down instead of giving you the dream you deserved. He would never purposefully tell you who he really is unless he was sure . It would be hard to keep away, but seeing you serving him would keep his desires in check. He could keep an eye on you properly this way. You might even smile for him if he played his cards right.
-If that wouldn't work, he would only kidnap you if you somehow recognize him when you see him as Tobi/Madara. It would be out of pure excitement. Of course you'd recognize him! You have everything about him memorized. You'd know "the man you loved" no matter what happened to him! Years didn't mean anything to you.
-He'd try to act stoic for you, but on the inside he was bursting. It must be overwhelming for you to even believe he is alive after all this time. He'd cherish your tears whether of joy or sorrow at the proof that it really is him.
-Nothing would prepare him for a cold or confused reaction. Depending on how much you understood about the Akatsuki you might even hate him for what he had done. That would just be proof that this you is fake.
-If you thought he was ugly, he wouldn't even feel sad. "The me you'll get to love in the Infinite Tsukiyomi won't have these scars. Everything will be to your preference. Don't you want to make that happen? Doesn't that sound like a perfect dream?"
-He wouldn't kill you if you continued to fight him. He'd just leave you to starve in the Kamui dimension alone . As long as you didn't stop him, he wouldn't hurt you. That's all he would need.
-Feeding into the delusions he had been crafting is more dangerous than trying to refute them. It would mean that he'd feel justified in stalking and stealing your things. It would mean that you really do want him to "save" you from this cruel world.
-He'd expect you to fight on his side no questions asked. In return, he'd let you be close to him. He'd give you a bit of intimacy that could be built upon in the Infinite Tsukuyomi. It doesn't matter if you say you don't want it, he knows you are just acting embarrassed for being called out. He'd show you your journal and let you know he understood everything. Straying from this path once you're on it would lead to the death of anyone you have ties with. He would make sure that you'll have no distractions.
-He wouldn't accept that you'd be happy with just being with him if you went that angle to convince him. Obito knows deep down that you would much rather be with the version of him who returned to the village and became Hokage. He isn't that man. Even if he finds himself more in love with you than Rin, he can't just go back to living a normal life. Nothing would feel real. Nothing could feel real.
-Alternatively, if he sees you again during the Fourth Great War, he'd be able to keep himself in check better. He wouldn't want to kill you and would be less likely to lash out if you were angry with him.
-He'd be more focused on converting you to his ideals. Though he'd offer you getting to be with him, he'd save it as a last card. If that didn't work he'd just break your spirit so you wouldn't get in his way.

For @obito-week.
The day Sasuke sets foot back in the Uchiha Compound (he’s brave, not weak; he could have come back sooner, but the hospital staff wouldn’t let him, he tells himself), he walks past his family home, not sparing it a glance (he’s brave, brave, not weak) and heads straight for the Naka Shrine. He wants to pay his respects, to show his parents he survived, to tell them he’ll avenge them (he’s not weak, he can do it).
Instead, he cries for the first time since That Day. That’s alright, because he’s all alone, no one has to know. No one will see (ghosts aren’t real).
Except someone does (and they are).
Sasuke makes an unlikely friend.
-
Obito wakes up after the rockfall, expecting the Pure Lands to greet him. Meeting his parents would be nice. Instead, he opens his eyes to an ornate ceiling, and quickly realises he can’t shirk his duty to the Clan, even in death.
It’s a lonely, pointless life as a priest when no one can see you, when the thing you are guarding can’t possibly escape the moon. It’s even lonelier when your Clan moves on without you, leaving behind a one-ghost ghost town.
Not long after, the sound of pitiful crying wakes him from his daze. He doesn’t expect those pitch black, watery eyes to settle on him.

Missing Nin AU: Designs! (Main Three)
(Best boyfriend in the world did the lineart and coloring of my sketches! Massive thanks to him!!)
I'm so excited to finally show you all the AU I've been working on for the better part of the past two years!
Basically, in this timeline (divergence), Rin survives the chidori to the heart thanks to the chakra of her tailed beast (Isobu) and his ability to heal her from the otherwise fatal wound. (I know this has been done a million times before, but hear me out-)
Obito also stays around long enough to see Kakashi wake, and as Obito berates Kakashi for "killing" Rin, they both pick up on her heartbeat and race to save her, setting their issues aside in the pursuit of potentially saving her.
With this, they find the nearest village (other than Konoha) and force their way in, seeking help. When they're denied, Obito threatens everyone's lives in order to get Rin treatment. And unsurprisingly, it works.
Rin recovers slowly, but once she's okay enough, they all skip town and remain in the forest to get their bearings and avoid being forcefully brought back to Konoha. The three are all flagged as Missing Konoha Nin. (Although Obito is technically left as unidentified since he was pronounced dead years back-)
And through the years, they become notorious wanted criminals in the bingo book. Rin is forced to stay under Obito's protection as going to Konoha would cause her to not only die (As far as she knows) but to destroy her home as well. Kakashi stays as he feels indebted to Obito as much as he may disagree with his perspective at times. And Obito leads them all, instilled with Madara's ideology and the want for a better world. But this time, he's doing it entirely his way.
They also pick up some other nin in need along the way, but they come later, so I'm gonna hold off on information for a bit when it comes to them.
As for Minato and Kushina, they eventually figure out who each of them are and are absolutely devastated that all three of them would turn against their own village. They pursue them when they can and as often as they can, but they can never truly catch up.
TLDR: Rin barely lives through getting a Chidori through the heart, so Kakashi and Obito band together to save her. They do and then run off into the woods to work things out. The three of them become missing nin before eventually ending up in the bingo book.
OKAY ENOUGH RAMBLING. (Honestly if you read all of that, thank you. It means the world to me!!) I hope everyone enjoys it, though! I had so much fun designing!!

we adore it, deidara and sasori and itachi are perfection--
a cake for judgment lol for the bombastic artistic duo~
so, deidara would like geode cakes, wouldn't he?
does obito like mirror glaze cakes? or would something about their smooth, perfected surface make him shy away...
itachi and kisame make us think about taiyaki and raindrop cakes, haha
obito has the vibe of someone who eats fast food "late night" deals aimed at young adults (cough jack in the box cough taco hell) often
mango is a strong flavour? shook
we've always thought it was pleasantly sweet but not that overwhelming.....
somehow we're picturing zetsu eating honeypot ants, now, haha, because of eyeballs. zetsu eating eyeballs amuses us because of the sheer creep factor (worse for the two Uchihas, lmao)
what kinds of gifts would the akatsuki appreciate? (separately or collectively)
I googled Raindrop Cakes and holy shit that's gorgeous. Also yeah...I think the flavor of real mango is really mild but perhaps being American, the iterations I most often see are like watermelon candy is to actual watermelon. I'm used to it being super duper sharp if it's a mango flavored thing, versus using real mango.
Akatsuki gifts! :
Pain:
I think while he's a very practical man, he'd enjoy something that clearly came from the heart, too. I think it's a hard feat but a good way to make him soft. Something, perhaps, that he can see in his personal space and remember your care.
Konan:
Little things. A rock you think she'd like. Things you made with your hands, just so long as it isn't too clearly laborious or time consuming. (Thinking about when she made an origami rose for Jiraiya)
Tobi/Obito:
THE WORLD No, I think anything that demonstrates you're giving him the time of day on your own free will out of love. I bet he melted anytime Rin so much as shared a snack. He can see through your intent like glass, though, so its less about what is actually done and more what you mean by it that'll matter.
Zetsu:
He might be the hardest sell, I don't think gift giving is a love language he accepts easy. Maybe *gives*, because humans are weird and it's an easy way to express affection or admiration, but to *accept* is different. I think he'd more or less have the same placid, pleasant expression regardless of if you gave him a flower or bought him a house. You'd have to attach some sort of context to the gift to make it matter more.
Hidan:
Personal headcanon: for as much as he talks about how he feels or thinks, he does not know how to express affection with his words. He gives gifts if he likes you. In my fic, he gives the performer a loaf of bread and because she's starving, she wolfs it down, and so every time after he's like "wow I guess she really likes food" so he steals gets her food.
wait this is a post about what gifts HE would want.
Appreciate his faith or demonstrate your own. He'll catch on if you only give him things with the Jashin symbol just for the sake of it, though. After the first few times he's going to get the idea that you're not actually putting any heart into it, like the equivalent of buying anything you see that has a frog on it because your friend said once that he likes frogs. It's only going to take you so far if you're using it as a shortcut. Get him a prayer mat, some candles, maybe a free coupon for the human sacrifice warehouse.
Kakuzu:
This man is NOTHING if not pragmatic. The gift needs to be worthwhile, for one, and for another, because he ultimately sees where every bill comes and goes in the Akatsuki's hands, he is going to want you to spend it WISELY. Don't buy this man anything gold. You're basically handing him his own money back to him in a different, less liquidated form. Be thoughtful, pay attention to the kind of things he tends to use, or tends to need and never seems to have enough of. It matters most how your gift serves to improve his life. Better ink for writing, an updated bingo book, a meal he forgot to eat. Things that fill a space that is already open, not trying to forge one and pretend it is needed for its own sake.
Deidara:
You need to make the gift. I don't know if anyone could ever think there'd be a different answer than this. It needs to be made in some form or another with your own two hands. He wants to see your fingerprints on that ceramic, hear the quiver in your voice when you sing him a song. Don't be mistaken: home made will not necessarily mean less expensive. He's gonna notice if you cheap out on the materials, and then he is (while not intending to be ungrateful) going to critique you on that. Save yourself the lecture.
Also: let him watch you make it! That'd be the best part.
Sasori:
Also needs to have artistic purpose first and foremost. I think he'd love things in resin, honestly. Preservation of something beautiful, especially if its the kind where you go in with a needle and position everything before it solidifies. But mostly, purpose is secondary to beauty. It needs to be beautiful or otherwise obvious in the delicate nature of its craft. Also, if you have the kind of relationship with him where he is showing you how he builds his puppets, a demonstration you've learned what he's taught would be phenomenal. Give him a lil puppet and let him do a critique. The time in his day to do that is the most meaningful gift he will give in turn; it is a hard one to earn.
Kisame:
He strikes me as an "experience versus physical object" kind of guy. Take him out for something fun! Go to the boardwalk, the festival, a hike, fireworks. He's not necessarily social with strangers, but he's more than willing to be around them and handle stares to go live life and enjoy himself. Of course, it's all the better if you're there with him to share it.
Itachi:
Easiest to gift for, even if everyone thinks otherwise. Just because he doesn't always smile doesn't mean it means nothing to him. If you went to the store and got him any gift basket of body care items, he would reserve a space in his heart for you till the day he dies. On that note, I do think he'd like body care items a lot, things that are perfumed, make his hair softer, let him relax for a second. He may not be able to sleep, but a lavender scented bath is a pretty close imitation. I also think he's the type that would genuinely be touched if you donated to a charity in his honor.

Prompt explanation, part 2!
Hello, our dear People! As promised next pack of 5 prompts explanation for Obito Week 2023!
And again, the final interpretation and use of the prompt are up to you! 🥰
Nostalgia - A longing for home or familiar surroundings; homesickness. A bittersweet yearning for the things of the past. Memories can strike at the least convenient moments. Visiting certain spots, feeling scents, or even hearing voices can trigger some memories we usually don’t think of. Who felt nostalgic and when - maybe it was Obito, seeing a familiar place? Or maybe it’s something associated with Obito that triggered the memory?
Mokuton - 木遁, a famous Wood Style jutsu, a combination of Earth and Water, used by Hashirama Senju himself. Tended by old Madara, Obito had parts of his body too damaged, replaced with cells cultivated from the body of the first Hokage, thus gaining the ability to use the Wood Release. But how he uses it… Be creative!
Mission - In the shinobi world, it’s most associated with the work ninja do for their villages, in the simplest words. Different ranks allow them to accept tougher and often more dangerous missions. For some, completing it stands above all, but for others… Despite the consequences, they look up to people who care about teammates and they follow this path, even if the cost is their death. But mission can be also a personal thing - helping those in need, bringing peace to the world…
Juubi - Ten tails, a legendary beast, a One-Eyed God. Known before founding the hidden villages, it split into tailed beasts to end its rampage. At one point, Obito becomes Juubito - Juubi Jinchuuriki, going through both physical and mental torment. Maybe it’s time to tell the world how it looked from the inside, or the history is different - he didn’t do it for reasons we don’t yet know? Tell us your story! Show us your art!
Hokage - A dream of boy Obito, to become a Hokage, the leader of the Hidden Leaf Village, being recognized by everyone. What would happen if he indeed became a Hokage? Or what if the Kannabi Bridge didn’t happen and he just stays loyal to the leader, being their trusted advisor? What if the plan is to assassinate the current leader? The possibilities are vast!
That's all for today, we hope that I helped you find some inspiration in this! 🥰
And remember to like and share the Obito Week Bingo Card, and help us spread the word about our favorite Uchiha man ♥️

Scenes or Comic Panels I Would Draw If I Could Draw BC Some Of My Chatpost Ideas I See Better As Pictures Not Words, Part Two.
-Deidara having had way too much coffee or soda and is sitting with Sasori, explaining one of his favorite tv shows or something and just info-dumping like crazy. And the other Akatsuki members pass by throughout the day and they all wonder how the hell Sasori is just calmly sitting there, giving Deidara his full attention while the blonde just rants for literal hours. Finally Dei wears himself down and falls asleep and Konan goes in to check on Sasori and she’s shocked to see it’s not Sasori at all but one of his puppet body-doubles. Dei in his caffeinated frenzy just didn’t notice.
-Shikadai, Boruto and Mitsuki using a metal detector in the Nara woods, something sets it off so they start digging. Finds Hidan (his Jashin necklace is what set the detector off). Shikadai doesn’t know what to do with a talking head but Mitsuki mentions that his Parent makes bodies in his lab all the time. So they cart Hidan off to Orochimaru. Hilarity (or horrible, horrible chaos) ensues.
-Pakkun finds the Akatsuki hideout. Is preparing to inform Konoha of its whereabouts but recognizes something strangely familiar about the scent of the tall man in the orange mask. Waits a while, spies through the window at night and Mask-Man takes off the mask and. Holy shit. It’s the guy Pakkun’s master Kakashi has been mourning all these years. Leaves, goes to the rest of the ninken. The group all together waits until Obito is alone, ambushes him, and drags him back to Kakashi. They receive many treats and many pats that night. Pakkun is ring-bearer at their wedding.
-Deidara and Itachi start sleeping together in the winter. Not having sex but literally just sharing a bed. Because Kisame is cold-blooded and doesn’t provide the sickly Itachi adequate warmth, and Sasori being a puppet doesn’t get into bed with Deidara a lot as-is because he has no need for sleep, and when he does, his body doesn’t provide warmth either. Kisame and Sasori act like they’re fine with it but secretly kiiiiiinda jealous. Eventually Hidan wants in on the situation too because he feels left out of the “sleepovers” and Kakuzu sits up half the night counting money or reading the Bingo Book anyway. But Kakuzu … is MORE than happy to get Hidan out of his hair (and off of his expensive sheets).
-Deidara pregnant, asleep, and Sasori sitting just fixated on his belly. He gently puts his hand on the belly and the baby gives a little kick. Sasori makes a game out of asking the baby yes or no questions, with a kick being a Yes. Eventually Deidara stirs half-awake and asks “Will your Daddy shut up and let me sleep?!” and then he gives Sasori a kick off the bed with his own legs, mumbles “Good, hm” and goes back to bed.
-Sasori looking up to the sky and asking God to give him something beautiful from heaven. Out of nowhere Deidara explodes up out of the ground, cursing and dirty, into Sasori’s arms. Sasori looks at Deidara, then at the ground and is like “Thank you, Devil-san.”
-Kisame having a talk with Obito, formally asking his permission to marry Itachi. Obito asking how he managed to see through the Tobi persona, Kisame telling him that any idiot could see that “Tobi” was too far-fetched a personality to be believed. The others all say something similar to having figured out that Tobi was an Uchiha, except for Deidara who nearly faints. “I slept with an Uchiha?!” and Hidan is like, “Fuck the Uchiha part; are you telling me you slept with TOBI?!”
-Nagato noticing how much time Konan spends with Kisame and starts to think that maybe she’s attracted to muscles. So he secretly tries to work out but ends up spraining a few ribs and ends up in bed. Konan asks him what he was trying to do, Nagato confesses and Konan laughs. She tells Nagato that she goes out with Kisame so much because the shark is intimidating and being with him prevents men from hitting on her. Next scene is Nagato accompanying Konan to the grocery store, with every single one of his Pein bodies in tow, forming a terrifying wall around the couple, who are holding hands.
-((I think I’ve said this in a post before but)) All of the boys in the Akatsuki wanting to take a shirtless picture together, to show off their “muscles”. They ask Konan to take the picture but she’s offended they didn’t ask her to be in it. they say sure, thinking she’ll be in her bra but nope, she takes off everything and lets the twins out while she flexes. the final picture is Konan flexing in the center, Deidara, Hidan and Itachi fainted on the floor, Tobi has a red trickle coming from his nose area under his mask, Kisame and Zetsu are both alarmingly red, Kakuzu is seen outside fighting some white-haired pervert peeking in through the hideout windows, Sasori is studying Konan’s body with an interest that’s somehow more frightening than the others’, and Nagato is rushing up with a blanket up cover her.
-Kakashi walking down the aisle to Gai in a beautiful wedding dress, being escorted by Naruto and Sasuke on each arm, with all of the ninken holding different parts of his veil-train. Sakura is at the top of the aisle holding Gai’s wheelchair, monitoring his IV bags. He’s not fully healed from his war injuries yet but he insisted on doing this as soon as he could speak again. Lee and Ten-Ten are Gai’s “best men”.
-Hidan gets accidentally blown to bits by one of Deidara’s bombs. Loses everything but his head. Kakuzu tells Sasori that since it was HIS partner who caused this, he should be the one to make Hidan a new body. Sasori agrees. But after awhile Kakuzu comes to him and tells him to delay his progress by a few weeks. Turns out taking care of just Hidan’s head is a LOT easier (and stress-free) than keeping up with Hidan as a whole body.

I want your shipping bingo opinions on kakashi....
ppl seem to ship him with gai, tenzo, obito, or iruka. I need your completely correct opinions on any or several of these
Thank you for asking!!
I don't ESPECIALLY ship Kakashi with anyone, but KakaObi and KakaGai are what most intrigue me. I definitely read a lot of KakaIru fics back in 2017 though hahaha.
KakaObi definitely most intrigue me as far as... being doomed by the narrative. I love some characters who are unhealthily obsessed with one another. I think they should corrupt one another.
As far as KakaGai? Wholesome content. Love their dynamic. It's more of a "well yeah they're married" as opposed to actively shipping them I think!

obtio and itachi for the character bingo. actually lets also go with sasuke lets get the whole uchiha family drama in here
ok i did this bingo a while ago w obito but im doing it again because my opinion is more developed since we've now discussed him at length. i think he's fucking annoying and his significance in the final arc is absolutely bizarre and deeply undeserved.
obito's significance in the story should begin and end at kakashi's backstory. like you've talked about, to kakashi, obito is more of a symbol than a person; kakashi was deeply traumatized (understandably) by obito's final moments, and is infinitely plagued with guilt over the person that he was at that time, blaming himself for his friends' deaths even though it wasn't actually his fault. he had no respect for obito until obito's final moments, where he sacrificed himself for kakashi and gifted him HIS EYE, GOUGED FROM ITS SOCKET AND SWAPPED WITH KAKASHI'S, HEALED INTO PLACE BY HIS 12 YEAR OLD TEAMMATE, finally making kakashi understand that looking out for the people you love moreso than the mission itself is honorable, actually. obito represents what kakashi should be and what he was unable to be, a point of failure and something to strive towards and fall short of forever. the horror of obito's death is emblematic of what's wrong with konoha and the ninja system in general-- why was rin, a child, taken prisoner? why was it left up to kakashi and obito, children, to rescue her alone? why were the three of them on the battlefield to begin with, KAKASHI AS THE TEAM LEADER? children gouging their eyes out as parting gifts. obito cared about kakashi from the beginning enough to give him an actual piece of himself, but kakashi couldn't be assed to give him the time of day until the moment obito died (because he was 1) an asshole as a child (love and light!) and 2) also traumatized by his father's SUICIDE (ALSO A BYPRODUCT OF WAR) which shaped his world view in an extremely rigid way), and THIS should haunt him forever. he can grow from it and make new connections and try his damnedest to make up for it, but obito should NOT come back. there is NO REASON for him to come back. he is not even SLIGHTLY an interesting enough character in his own right to justify him coming back, especially not as a MAIN PLAYER IN THE FINAL BATTLE. HUH?
his obsession with rin, a girl who ALSO had zero personality and thus i don't care at all about their relationship with each other, was absolutely bizarre and ridiculous, the way he hung onto it i understand objectively was a symptom of his stunted emotional growth and being a very broken man, but the way this was executed was MISERABLY done, no one cares, shut the fuck up, she didn't even like you (she liked kakashi, for some fucking reason, weird to make that like her only personality trait just for kakashi to not even like her back). like his anger that kakashi didn't protect her is 1) sexist but we know this (she is apparently incapable of protecting herself) and 2) annoying because again, this would serve much better as just another failure notch in kakashi's fuckup belt, but instead this dude comes back at the age of 32 to be like ooououuuugh all i wish is to hold hands with the girl i had a crush on when i was 12 and know nothing about..... SHUT THE FUCK UPPPPP
and obviously the fandom. fucking. KAKASHI/OBITO???? REALLY????? kakashi cares about obito because he was his teammate and a symbol of his personal failures, and obito sacrificed himself for kakashi because he was a kindhearted child and both of them were raised as war machines. how the fuck does that ever ever translate to romantic attraction. ever. what. they weren't even actual friends. why is this so popular. like in what world.... IN WHAT WORLD............
itachi....... itachi............i loveyou......... i mentioned this in a previous post but to me itachi is gen the POSTERCHILD of everything that is so wrong with the political system. he grew up SWALLOWED by it and chewed up and spit back out. his father took him to a battle field when he was like 4 literally just so he'd see what it was like. he was raised as a double agent and brainwashed so seamlessly that by the end he didn't even know whose side he was actually on. absolutely fascinating character and heartbreaking and devastating and horrible. ive never never never seen siblings written as well as kishimoto wrote sasuke and itachi, because LITERALLY WHO CAN GROW ME A NEW BROTHER... itachi loved sasuke more than anything. im convinced that if you dont think he loved sasuke then you weren't watching. obviously, what he did was terribly cruel and he ruined sasuke's entire life and no amount of i love you and im sorry can fix or change that, but he loved him. driven to do something unspeakably horrible by the government officials who had groomed him into a killing machine, setting the fate of his clan and the village and potentially beyond that on his teenaged shoulders, but he had to spare his brother. like itachi is deeply deeply brainwashed by konoha and this is something that he never gets over; he spares sasuke and drives him to hate him because he's afraid what would happen if sasuke crossed konoha, what konoha would do to him, he thinks that maybe he's doing the right thing and protecting the village, maybe, if sasuke grows up strong, stronger than him, no matter what it takes, then maybe he'll fare better than itachi did. but also there needs to be someone left to hate him for it. itachi can't bare to get out where everyone who knew him, who could really really hate him like he deserves to be hated, is dead. its selfish, obviously its fucked. but he needs it and he's terrified.
itachi's manipulation of sasuke's entire life is frankly very very fascinating and horrible to me, the willingness to rewrite and rewrite sasuke's beliefs and control every aspect of what he knows and believes and wants to a desperate attempt to keep him safe and to keep the village that fucked them both over safe. normally i think bringing characters who already got their epic death scene back from the dead cheapens the weight of the original death, but with itachi i actually think his return is sort of critical just because it breaks my heart so fucking bad. sasuke please don't call me perfect. sasuke this is everything i did wrong and im sorry and i love you and im not going to control you anymore. whatever you think is right, ill always love you. like itachi fucked up irrevocably. but man. thats his brother. thats his baby brother. we are fucked. i think given time sasuke will not think as highly of itachi as he does when the story ends and i think this would be a fantastic development to watch, but where things stand and considering how the rug has been pulled out from underneath him about one billion times i think its fully understandable that he has the take that he does by the storys end.
itachi was not a good brother, obviously, christ, but he DID love sasuke and i think what happened to them both is horrific
SASUKEEEEE i love a guy who doesn't know what he is doing or what he wants he just hates himself and his life and is terrified of weakness or connection or love and he gets led around by his nose because he's so full of hate and fear and anger that anyone who can help him direct it LITERALLY FCUKING ANYWHERE is immediately someone he will stand beside, until he changes his mind again. like im going to be sick. HES SO FUCKED. its crazy i think how little im about to write about him bc i think without direction my brain sort of looks just like @#**)#!H@FUIBEW*(#@*(WESDU@* *CWF)*WCF wrt sasuke.
was he right? umm im generally anti-tyranny but he was on the right track. it fucking sucks that kishimoto is so scared of change. im so glad he killed danzo. i fucking hate team taka though that was lame as hell idrk why kishimoto was afraid to just let him walk a lonely road the only road that he has every known and instead had to give him a bunch of tonally dissonant goons. devastating. what the fuck even. "you are the only person left who loves me and that terrifies and unsettles me so badly that i desperately need to kill you so that you'll stop and i'll really be alone" is an absolutely insane and also gay character motivation.
post canon sasuke is i think what makes me the most miserable with him (and im trying to get into this w b2, we'll see how successful i am) because i think its like. wow. what kind of person even are you after spending 7 odd years like how sasuke spent them. who even are you. what are you doing. what are you GOING to do. how do you know you won't change your mind and start hurting people again. how do you know you wont change your mind and start hurting yourself again. youre already hurting yourself. where are you. what is this. why are you alive. you should be dead. you deserve to be dead. you kind of wish you were dead. but also someone loves you and swears on his life that nothing in the world could ever make him stop, and you believe him and its so terrifying being known by yourself and by someone else but maybe things will be okay but maybe they wont and you hope that when the two of you die, its you first, because even though he says he never ever could you know he could get on without you but you have no idea who you'd be without him.
i wont rehash boruto because ive done that already but its critical as well. WHY DID YOU DO THAT TO HIM IM GONNA THROWUP

bringing it down
TEEN+ // ALSO ON AO3 // HEADCANONS Words: 2,594 Warnings: Canon-typical violence, non-canon behavior, death, Missing-nin Kakashi, Kakashi is off the fucking deep end bro, the shinobi world is a mess of political corruption
I just had a lot of thoughts about a Kakashi who completely lost his faith in the shinobi system. Like he channeled his growing resentment and rage into killing people for Anbu but when the Third Hokage took it away to make him a Genin instructor, he went off the deep end. Sorry not sorry :)
Kakashi’s life exists in fragments.
Scattered memories, a puzzle with missing pieces long lost to time, snippets of emotion linked to things he can't quite picture anymore. People in his periphery, their presence hovering like ghosts that disappear when he gets too close. It’s for the best, maybe, because what little he does cling to is enough to make him believe he doesn't actually want to see the full picture, the full scope of tragedy that's scorched into every atom of his being.
It's a familiar, throbbing ache in his chest, a comforting death knell that echoes across a soul made of smoke and ashes barely held together by pale flesh and brittle bone, bearing the heart of a soldier. A tool, a weapon, a harbinger that hovers in the torn fabric of reality between life and death. A shadow that clings to dark corners with bared teeth and bloody hands that promise destruction, ruin, encapsulated in fingers sparking with electricity.
He bears the marks of that buzzing energy, lightning burned into taut skin. A livewire, always humming, always charged. Electric. Dangerous . The kind of danger that makes people turn their heads and double check the locks on their doors, as if that would stop him if they somehow found their names in his Bingo Book.
Innocents , Kakashi's raging mind tries to soothe him, sharp claws disguised as soft feathers, the whisper of his better angels. Not prey .
Tonight the prey he seeks sleeps soundly in a mansion, surrounded by the softest linens and guards that will never see him coming. The daimyō of the Land of Fire - a pathetic, simpering man from what he remembers of the one time they'd met, quick to bore and full of the pompous, lazy arrogance of someone in his position. Secure in the knowledge that he will not be challenged, that his word is law.
He's wrong, of course. This world was not made for men like him, men who cower behind others while they kill in his name.
Kakashi creeps through the shadows, a ghost in the night behind white porcelain swirled in crimson, fingers itching to cross off another name.
He will. He does . The screams of the daimyō's wife, an innocent, follow him, but he's long gone, back to a sketchy inn in a neighboring village where no one questions the blood on his hands or the fresh streaks of lightning burned into his flesh.
It's only there that he allows himself to settle, to scrub his hands before gathering a dinner from the kitchens that he eats alone in his room. Mask yanked down around his neck, canines tearing into tough, chewy meat, overcooked and tasteless. Habit, a lonely routine he finds comfort in.
He's always been good at being alone. It's even easier when people can't look at him without shrinking away in fear.
Wiping his fingers absently against the rough material of his dark pants, he gets to his feet and pulls his mask back up over his mouth, covers his unnatural eye with the silvery hair that falls over his forehead. That eye is open more than it's not these days, capturing every detail of the broken, rotted world around him.
In a way, it's a twisted, final fuck you to Obito's relentless optimism, unwavering even in the face of death. A revenge of sorts for this curse the Uchiha had shoved on him- he had died hopeful for a better world, now all his eye would see is the despair that claws at the underbelly, digging deep, bloody furrows into a cracked veneer.
The same despair that had been clawing at Kakashi himself since that night on a rocky outcropping, surrounded by enemies and singing birds with his hand soaked in blood that will never come off, one of the only memories he holds onto in perfect, agonizing clarity.
Rin's death will always be the memory that haunts his nightmares, wakes him from shallow, restless sleep and makes him scrub his hands until they're raw and red, keeps him up long past sunrise until he hits the road again with heavy, gritty eyes and tired limbs. He's so exhausted he can barely muster a transformation to disguise himself as he leaves, passing an increased patrol of shinobis sent from the Leaf, faces he'd recognize if he cared enough to look closer. He's stopped at the gate, his pack and identification checked, then sent on his way with a warning of caution.
"There's a killer out there," the guard tells him, unaware of the way Kakashi wants to rip the hitai-ate off of his forehead and gouge through the symbol of the Hidden Leaf until there's nothing left, ignorant of the thunderous rage coiling like a snake in the spaces between his ribs. "Murdered the daimyō last night. Watch yourself."
Kakashi only grunts in response, the sound hoarse and abrasive from disuse. It's been so long since he's spoken that he's not sure he even knows what his own voice sounds like anymore. He quells his rage with a quick huff of air and trudges down the road, away from a sleepy village unaware that the very killer the shinobis were there to find had slipped so easily between their fingers, like smoke disappearing into the wind.
He gathers his weapons from where he'd hidden them in the forest, buried in a small copse of tall, broad trees, pausing just long enough to look at the next name on his list.
Hiruzen Sarutobi . The Third Hokage, who had retired from his seat but was a little too quick, a little too eager, to take it right back before the Fourth Hokage's body was even cold. An overseer in the manufacture of child soldiers, groomed practically from birth to know nothing but blind loyalty to their village and its leader, carving them with brutal precision into weapons before their brains had even fully formed. A man who had once looked at Kakashi, broken and drowning in the depths of loss and despair, a killer soaked head to toe in blood in the name of his village, and told him that he was better suited to aid in their corruption. To strip away their innocence, their illusion of free will, before they were even old enough to realize what was being asked of them.
He had told the Hokage he would think about it. Instead, he had sat in the dark of his father's house and repainted his mask, erasing Hound until something new was born, a creature of bloodshed and righteous fury, a harbinger of death and thunderous ruin. He wore a mask painted in the memory of blood swirling across the floor, the symbol of the Hidden Leaf carved on the inside and scratched through, a permanent reminder. Never forget. Never forgive .
From weapon to nightmare in the blink of an eye. A list of names in a book dripping with blood. A ghost that stalks his prey with lethal intent, that shadow in the periphery of their vision that disappears when they look too close. Until they reek of fear - putrid, rotten - and realize that death is knocking on their door. A demon of their own making, trained by their own hands.
It's a heady feeling, knowing that he strikes such fear in their hearts. That they toss and turn after hearing of the death of a high ranking government official, wondering if they're next. It feels like poetic justice.
That feeling sticks with him when he lands on top of the Hokage Rock, crouched down with his elbows on his knees. He surveys the place he'd once called home, shrouded in twilight shadows and bustling with life and joy. Children laugh, too young yet to be forced into the Academy, their parents telling them it's time to go home and blissfully unaware that one day they won't. Were he in his right mind, it would be a comforting familiarity. Instead it sickens him, nausea roiling in his gut.
They don't see the cracks that he does, the facade crumbling as he slowly rips it apart with every life he takes.
They'll know soon enough , he thinks, eyes drawn to the red tower below. He'll drag every ugly secret and dirty truth to the surface, burn this village to the ground if he has to. He'll expose its rotten underbelly, the labyrinth of greed and corruption that the elders would kill children to protect. Power at all costs, right?
Once Kakashi had been proud to be a shinobi of the Leaf. To bear their symbol, to shed his blood to keep it safe. It was his duty, his honor.
Now, it's his disgrace.
Now, he knows that his sacrifices, the people he lost, were never to protect the village, but to protect power-hungry elders who would stop at nothing to keep their foothold in the world. They were, in ways, worse than the Hidden Mist, because while they didn't force tailed beasts into unwilling children, their machinations were subtle, buried in lies and secrets and backs stabbed clean through in their desperate bid to maintain the status quo. Gaslighting mothers into believing their children had died for a worthy cause. It disgusts him.
Minato-sensei had been the better of them, and sometimes when he hears his mind urging restraint, patience , he hears it in his sensei's voice. Maybe the Fourth Hokage could have changed things, but like Obito, like Rin, he'd been taken too soon. Another pillar of unrelenting hope, ripped from the world. Another unnecessary sacrifice.
Kakashi wonders if Sarutobi feels guilt for what he's done, what he's doing. If he lies awake at night and thinks about Minato like he does, if he asks himself if he did the right thing in taking back - and keeping - the mantle of Hokage.
Morbidly, he wonders if Minato had even stopped breathing before Sarutobi decided he wanted to be Hokage again after all. Maybe he'll ask him before he kills him.
Leaping off of one of the spikes topping Minato's carved head, he lands cat-like on the roof of the Hokage's Tower, dispatching the lone guard before he has a chance to react. His body disappears into the sealing scroll, no trace left of him. The thought of it being someone he knew, someone he'd worked with, twists a little uncomfortably in his gut, but he presses on.
He hopes Tenzou isn't on duty tonight. The kid had always been a little too naive, a little too innocent for this life, with a tentative flicker of hope Kakashi would hate to snuff out. Of course, Tenzou did his duty anyway, had never known anything else, but he didn't do it with the same cold detachment as the others. Like some primal part of his soul still cared. If the broken system Kakashi is razing to the ground deserves to be rebuilt, maybe Tenzou would be one of the pillars. Strong, unwavering, but still gentle. Someone who had seen the depths of the darkness just as Kakashi had, but instead of succumbing to the madness, continued to see the good.
Two Anbu stand outside the Hokage's office, neither with masks he recognizes. They don't see the shadow slinking along the wall until it's too late, their bodies sealed away to be dealt with later, too.
The Hokage sees it though. Hiruzen Sarutobi waits for him behind his desk, relaxed, like an agent of death itself hasn't come to claim his soul.
"It's been a long time, Kakashi."
The past few years haven't changed the Third Hokage much. He looks a little more tired, the circles under his eyes a little darker, the wrinkles on his skin a little more pronounced, but otherwise he was the same man that had stood over him on the rooftop three years ago, ordering him to put down the mask that had kept the fury that boiled in his lightning-charred bones down at a low simmer, the one thing that had allowed him to channel that rage into something a little less destructive to the system he'd lost faith in.
Kakashi takes that mask off now, clearing his throat to test a voice that hasn't been used since that day. It comes out cracked, hoarse, like the creak of a weather-warped wooden door that hasn't been opened in decades. "Not long enough."
Sarutobi hums thoughtfully in response, leaning forward and steepling his fingers. For someone staring his own end in the face, he looks decidedly unbothered.
Kakashi's rage snaps its jowls like a starved dog fighting for a piece of meat.
"It was me." The words slip out, a rough timbre thick with bitter fury. His wrath is a tempest, a storm battering against his ribs desperate to be let loose, to do what it does best and destroy. "The council, the daimyō. I saved you for last."
"Why is that?" the Hokage asks, low and gravelly, still calm. Still infuriating. Pissing him off without even trying. Kakashi stalks forward, slamming the kunai clutched in his bloody fingers down into the desk, so close it cuts the side of the Hokage's palm. He wonders what he looks like to the old man, leaning over him like this. If he sees the storm Kakashi would have him break beneath.
He leans closer, eyes dark as they stare into the old man's, steel and fire burning into fabricated warmth. He sees beneath, sees the cold, calculating man that leads children like lambs to slaughter. Who tells their mourning families that their death was some honorable thing, a sacrifice for the greater good. He never tells them what that 'greater good' really is.
"So you would know what was coming for you." He rips the blade from the wood, leaving a deep score in the dark spruce. The demon you crafted with your own blood-stained hands, your own weapon turned against you .
Hiruzen Sarutobi doesn't need to ask why. Kakashi can see it in his eyes when he registers that Kakashi had wanted him to be afraid, to sate the raging beast with the acrid scent of his fear. The old man chuckles, low and deep in his throat.
"Not what you were hoping for, is it Kakashi?" His steady voice, his unwavering calm, only fuels the fire burning in Kakashi's chest, soot building up along the pleura of his lungs and making it hard to breathe. His vision is shaded in the all consuming color of blood.
Kakashi's hand is quick to force the Hokage's yell of pain back into his mouth when two kunai drive through his hands into the desk, keeping him from forming hand signs. Keeping him from escape.
The Hokage, once a renowned shinobi who put his own kind of fear into the hearts of his enemies, has gotten slow in his old age, complacent. He's underestimated the lightning storm that lives in Kakashi's skin, the song of birds that is his thunderclap.
He moves quicker than a blink, speed trained into him just as sharply as force and precision, and strikes.
And like all the others, arrogant enough to believe they're invulnerable, Hiruzen Sarutobi too collapses forward, a hole plunged through his chest just like Rin's.
Kakashi has lost count of how many people's chest cavities he's known so intimately under the Hokage's orders, but this one is certainly one of the most significant.
With the Hokage Tower burning behind him, he finally puts a finger on what makes this one different.
It doesn't feel like tragedy or duty.
It feels like victory.

For @obito-week.
It's through Hell that you carry yourself, a heavy weight not of burden, but of proof that things can change. That you're alive, against all odds.
You carry others, too. It's responsibility, it's love, it's hope. It's horror.
Nothing is as it should be. You're glad for that.
The person in front of you is a monster dear to your heart. There's a monster inside you. You're a monster yourself. You did the unthinkable.
A noble thought, a selfless act, breaking a promise, revenge.
After that, heading home. It has never been home. It can be, if you try.
The person in front of you is a ghost. You are a ghost. You are not the same person you were a year ago, a week ago, an hour ago. You're still you.
If you can show you're not a threat, if that person proves the same, then maybe you can walk together. Hesitation is a blade.
It's through Hell that that you walk, thinking Heaven is on the other side.
Isobu hopes something will be different. Rin cherishes a new chance, a new friend. Kakashi protects what's left of his heart. Obito finds himself among the pieces.
Heaven is four steps away.

Kurenia Yuhi
Doing Intresting secondary characters or groups that deserve more screen time but pushed back due to the Uchiha Lore (Ughh)
Kurenai is considered a respectable genjutsu user. It was basically her speciality and she was overall one of the strongest Jonin in Konoha at the time.
(It’s pretty sad, Kurenia and Asuma deserved more screen time. Even though Asuma had a few moments in Konoha Crush, had a fight with Akatsuki member. Still wasn’t enough for alot of people.)
then comes the fight with itachi and kisame
Add to the fact she’d even only just become a Jonin by the time of that encounter, so it’s to be expected that she wouldn’t be “in the know”. ch43
Combine this with her not really knowing much about Itachi (Basically from a bingo book)other than the basics that she had been told and a vague overall level of how strong he might be and I can understand why she herself thought genjutsu might work against him. chap 141-142
An underreated feat that she did: chap 141
Kurenai being able to break out of his genjutsu, dodge an attack, and then block another one, is just good for her (hell, Itachi complimented her)
She didn’t have a ton of experience in dealing with the Sharingan as for years the one person she knew with the eye was Kakashi and he never really used any Genjutsu with it.
really weren’t too many people alive that knew the true extent of how powerful Itachi’s eyes were (Kisame, Obito, etc). Kakashi (somebody who was stronger than Kurenai and also possessed the Sharingan) was caught off guard by how strong Itachi was even though the two had worked together years back in the ANBU.
Itachi Uchiha was known to be capable of using powerful Genjutsu..
nobody was expecting this: ch142
People really try to clown her when this was the first time Mangekyō Sharingan was introduced.
You guys should really reread chap 140- 142 bc everyone basically needed to help each other fighting itachi and kisame .It was Guy that step up and saved everyone
Extra
also wonder how she leads her team and what dynamic they had: Databooks say she is the “big sister type” always invested in the growth and care of her students.
I could also image the crazy genjutsu that we could be shown that wasn’t uchiha based ( yeah, I’m still salty)
