I also just remembered the fact that Simeon is canonically kinda isolated and low-key discriminated against in the celestial realm for being a fence sitter during the celestial war as well as being demoted. Even before the war he didn't have alot of friends because of his private nature but after the war it seems like he literally only talks to Raphael, Michael, and Luke because everyone else basically shuns him or is uncomfortable around him.

He also says that the brothers had always had a special bond that even he can't seem to emulate so he was always an outsider even when he was with who he felt was his closest family, just like Satan feeling like he'll never have the same bond as his brothers because he wasn't there a majority of their lives. I'm so normal about these two.

Everyday I get a little bit more obsessed with Simeon/Satan lore. The theory that if Simeon chose to fall with the brothers instead of being neutral like he was means that Satan probably wouldn't have existed. It's shown multiple times that Simeon and Satan have very similar interests, personalities, and opinions, the major difference being that Satan is very emotional to the point of self destruction and Simeon masks his emotions to the point of being self destructive. Also the implications that Simeon's major sin being wrath (represented by his glowsticks) and how its implied that he was always destined to permanently leave the celestial realm one way or another. ❥ Zayne: The summer sun was scorching hot, even as it was slowly starting to set. You and Tara had spent the afternoon and early evening hanging out in the park chatting and swimming in the lake. It was great, but you were both ready to get out of the sun and take a nap. You said your goodbyes and Tara had walked off in the opposite direction. 

Loud laughters and the splash of water catches your attention. Kids having a water balloon fight on a patch of grass next to the sidewalk. You smile at the pure joy radiating from their faces, thinking back to having water balloon fights with Zayne and Caleb when you were kids. They always let you win and seemed to have an agreement to only fight for second place. And fight they did. 

Your mind wandered back to the young boys that made your childhood and you seemed to have longed for it so strongly that you somehow summoned one of them to appear before you. Dressed in his usual all black attire, even on a day like this one. Matching black sunglasses resting on his nose. 

“Zayne, hi!” You smile as you move closer to his dark figure. 

“MC, what are you doing here?” He replies in his usual monotone voice with any emotion hidden from anyone who doesn’t know him. But you know him well enough to tell that you appearing before him is a pleasant surprise. 

“I was at the park with a friend, I’m on my way home now.”

“Have you been in the sun all day? I hope you both remembered to keep hydrated?” You can’t help but roll your eyes at his question. Sometimes when he makes comments like that you can’t tell if he says it as a friend who cares for you, or as a Doctor ordering you to obey. One is slightly more palatable than the other. 

There is no time for you to come up with some sassy response as you suddenly feel the sting of plastic breaking against the skin of your chest and cold water gushing out over your sundress. Some of it splashes onto Zayne, but you definitely took the brunt of it. Your chest rises and falls quickly to the sudden shock of the cold water.

“We’re so sorry Miss, it was an accident!” A young boy runs over to you with a shameful look on his face. 

“It’s OK, accidents happen.” You give him the most convincing smile you can muster as you watch the child scramble back to his friends seemingly forgetting about you. 

“I should talk to them, such carelessness.” Zayne declares, frustration clear in his tone. He turns his body toward the children but you put a hand on his shoulder to stop him.

“Don’t, he didn’t mean to. I’m fine. We were all kids once, or, at least most of us were but if my memory serves me right you were practically an adult before you turned twelve.” You smirk up at him as his gaze returns to you.

“Don’t mock, it’s rude.” He gives you a stern look, but the little smile hiding on his lips does not go unnoticed.

“Besides, I had to be an adult in order to keep the unruly children in the neighbourhood in line.”

“Are you referring to me and Caleb?” You laugh. His expression seemed to have a less than positive reaction to the sound of his former best friend's name. It saddened you greatly that the two boys grew apart, and neither of them had ever wanted to admit the reason why. You just remember Zayne slowly pulling away from you and then disappearing to go to medical school in his early teens.

“You shouldn’t be out here in a wet dress with the sun setting, you’ll get cold. Why don’t you come inside and I’ll dry your dress.” He casually questioned, as if he didn’t just ask you to go home with him and strip. You bit your bottom lip, hiding a giggle as you waited for his mind to catch up to the words his mouth just uttered.

“There is no need to be so crude MC, I will of course lend you something else to wear.” You huff out a sigh of disappointment as he kept his stoic front without any hint of flusteredness. You turn on your heel and follow him down the path leading to his apartment. 

The elevator takes you to his floor and he unlocks the door allowing you access first. You walk in and take in your surroundings. It looks exactly like you pictured Zayne’s apartment. Clean, tidy, practical. The large windows facing the sunset turn the room into a marbled lightshow of orange and pink. 

Zayne has already disappeared into his bedroom and is rummaging through his closet for something you can borrow. You carefully follow him and lean on the doorframe looking into his bedroom. You make a shocking discovery, his bed has not been made! Half of it is immaculate, ofcourse, but the other half has definitely seen better days. 

Zayne emerges from the closet seemingly caught off guard by your presence. He clears his throat before moving toward you and nudging your body out of his room. A part of you felt bad for invading his personal space, but another part of you loved ruffling his feathers. If only you knew that he liked that too.

“It is certainly not the most fashionable ensemble, but I don’t think I will be able to find any alternatives that will fit you better.” He says as he hands you a stack of folded black clothing. You have no idea what he has given you and the lack of color makes the garments hard to make out in the dim light. He ushers you toward the bathroom and you hastily obey.

Whilst your eyes get used to the bright indoor lighting, you quickly slip out of your dress and unclasp your bra which had absorbed a great deal of water too. A gentle knock on the door catches your attention.

“Yes?” You question.

“If you pass me your dress I’ll get it drying right away.” His voice is slightly muffled behind the closed door, but you can hear him and you know he’s leaning right up against it. You gather your clothes in your hand, making sure your bra is in plain sight, and open the door just enough for your arm to reach through.

“Thank you!” You call out from behind the door before closing it again, returning your attention to the outfit Zayne put together for you. I wish I could see his face right now… 

The first item is a pair of gym shorts with a drawstring at the waist. You pull them on and laugh at the sight. Even with the drawstring neatly tied in a bow, they hang quite low on your hips. You catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and notice how red you are. Sunburned. Everywhere. A stark contrast to where the straps of your dress had protected you. Even worse was the bright red circle on your chest where the balloon had hit your already sensitive skin. It stung, quite badly. 

You reach for the next item of clothing and recognize it right away, it’s one of his iconic black shirts, like the one he’s wearing today. How many of these does he have? You carefully pull the shirt up your arms, one at a time, before gently rolling the sleeves up. You begin to button the shirt but leave a few open at the top, not to reveal anything, but to ask Dr. Zayne for something to ease the burning sensation consuming your body. 

“Um, Zayne?” Your voice is soft and uncertain as you emerge from the bathroom. In a flash he’s standing in front of you ready to give you whatever you need. 

“What is -” He starts, but after a quick glance of your bright pink skin, questions are no longer necessary. 

“You didn’t wear sunscreen?” He utters quickly before disappearing into his bedroom again.

“I did, I swear! But I guess I didn’t wear enough…” You’ve lost this time, the Doctor will defeat you in this battle as you have no valid arguments to defend yourself with.

“Here. Change. I won’t look.” He says as he pushes another item of clothing into your grasp. This one is softer and a nice pale blue color. “I’m going to find some aloe vera gel.” Zayne goes into the bathroom and nudges the door behind him so his line of sight is blocked. You turn you back to the bathroom door and switch to the soft blue v-neck. The material is much gentler on your sore body.

“You can get comfortable on the couch, I will be with you in a moment” He announces as he moves past you toward the kitchen. It’s like being at Akso Hospital awaiting your next appointment with Dr. Zayne. He’s moving with such speed and determination, you’re just sunburned, it’s not like you’re dying and he needs to prepare for emergency surgery. You do as you’re told, and sit on the couch tucking one leg up under your body whilst keeping the other firmly planted on the floor. 

Zayne returned carrying aloe vera gel, a moist towel and a large glass of water. After carefully placing it all on the coffee table he feels the skin of your neck with the back of his hand. You catch yourself leaning into his touch before his fingers disappear from your sensitive skin. Too quickly… He reaches for the towel and takes his time before positioning it around your neck, draping it gently over your shoulders. It is surprisingly cold and soothes instantly. You feel your eyes getting heavy and a headache brewing as the overexposure to the sun is finally catching up with you. 

Zayne reaches for your bag and grabs the claw clip attached to its strap. He gathers your hair to the best of his ability before flinging it into something vaguely reminiscent of a bun and secures it with the clip. He wished he could enjoy this moment more, the sight of you in his clothes was truly a mesmerizing sight. However your blatant discomfort was gnawing at him, bringing out his professional side rather than his personal one. He loved being able to care for you in this way though, rather than the regular tests and examinations at the hospital. This certainly felt more intimate. 

“Would you like me to apply the gel for you?” He offers sincerely. The suggestion catches you off guard and you can’t help but blush. Whose feathers are ruffled now? 

“Uh- N-no thanks, I got it.” You stutter whilst sitting up slightly and begin working the gel into your pulsating skin. You’re starting to feel quite embarrassed about the whole situation. You’re sitting on Zayne’s couch, burned to a crisp, wearing his clothes, rubbing aloe vera gel on yourself whilst he watches. 

“I’m sorry about this, Zayne, I didn’t mean to disrupt your evening.” 

“Don’t apologize. I’m glad we bumped into each other, otherwise you’d be on your own to deal with this. I became a Doctor for a reason, you know.”

“To help people?” You question.

“Yes, to help people…” he sighs as he adjusts the towel around your neck.

ok, let me be annoying about richas and forever relationship for a bit, cause, wow

We all know Q!Forever in the first day didn't give a shit about Richas because cc!Forever legit thought it was a bot. This led to his chat bullying him and calling him an absent father, which led to him logging in the next day JUST for the sake of beating the allegations. This is how we get this clip:

"Aaaah Richarlyson!! Hi, son! Hi, beautiful~ "Dad?" How cute! That's right son, daddy came!"

Now meta wise we all can FEEL Forever's ironic tone about it because he wasn't taking RP seriously at the time, and also this is the first time Ricardão played Richas since the first day it was 01 playing Richas. In lore, though? This is q!forevers first actual contact with his son, taking care of him and doing his tasks.

...And ever since this first day, he never stopped doing it. Because Forever would log in and Richas would already be logged in. Because Forever would do 10+ QSMP streams for the grind and his only company was Richas. Which culminated on Forever being Richas' most present father ("let's say that, he was always here"):

No matter what happened, Forever was always there for Richas. Forever was there during insaneduo divorce, Forever was there when Felps got Felps'd, when Cellbit went as a martyr. Forever was there when Richas' dad's kept disappearing one by one. When Pac got kidnapped by the code, Forever and Richas IMMEDIATELY hugged each other, desperate about how their family keeps disappearing. Forever was still there whenever they thought over armor, Forever was still there despite how Richas and him were spending less time together, Forever was there to offer comfort when Richas finally opened up about what he feels when he wakes up after a Romero Richas appears.

...And now.

Richas was told of the black goo infection, but no matter how much Forever kept saying things were fine, Richas knew they weren't. He told Mike yesterday about how whenever Forever went to sleep, he would stay up to take care and look over him. And then Forever is gone, and there's this entity taking over him, threatening to hurt Forever's body to make Richas' obey. And Richas begs for BBH to be able to pull out Forever from death if things go that way. And Cucurucho shows up and takes @v@ away, and the only thing they tell Richas is that Cucurucho got him, maybe killed him, maybe hes dead, or maybe cucurucho is taking care of him.

And Richas' doubts all these options. He doubts Cucurucho is able to take care of Forever because he knows that previously cucurucho couldn't (happy pills + black goo medicine not being enough). And he doubts Forever is dead because *Forever has always been there*. That's his most active father, the one that takes care of him the most, the one that was always there for him.

"And if mom asks me today, tomorrow... I won't believe kK"

Obey Me (Original and Nightbringer ver) Original - You become the therapist of many men with trauma and insecurities. The men in question are fucking demons that have the power to shred you into grated cheese, but they instead decide to simp over you as the story goes on. (also did I mention that you'll die? No? Oh fuck-) Nightbringer - A continuation (?) of the Original Obey Me but in a completely different universe. That's right! You slip into the past, way before the main story happens, WAY before you were even born! Idk if there is a way to go home but hey! At least you have your wizard friend from your timeline with you :D

From what I've been seeing it feels like PB is focusing on quantity over quality. Things like Obey Me, TWST, and Nu-Carnival has a sizeable group of characters, but they're not too huge so it allows them to flesh each one out to a certain extent, but then they can introduce a diverse set of cards on each of them so you're not starving too much.

WHB has not only has 6 Kings and one more on the way, but they also keep introducing more nobles and angels. In a way it's not bad, but this is why I seriously feel it is a case of quantity and not enough quality. From what I've seen in this community, characters that have been in the game since Day 1 are being super neglected. Then we a have every new L card released being paywalled, nightmare passes that also have the top rewards paywalled, are more frequent, even this time around the S+ card requires more gold keys and it doesn't have anything remotely special about it whereas the last S+ did which was extremely exclusive only. Honestly it's...really sad. Now you don't NEED these cards and I'm not asking for freebies, but in the end they are asking for your life savings for even just the decent stuff, and then you still have to deal with the gacha to do that.

I personally need a decent amount of characterization to really appreciate a character so I do appreciate the world building but no character has stuck with me yet. So everytime a new one is released I go: "Okay but what about like...the existing ones?" Our last one was Leraye, which I'm sorry, it's just a reskinned of his OG card and I found that really scummy which was probably why he was locked through achievements which...was the saving grace still it was the only time it happened. The story was nice though.

I don't want to come off as ungrateful and I probably am, but I just don't understand PB's decisions on what they're doing anymore. We can't use the "they're a small company" card, I'm sure they're not the only small company, but I don't have any sources, but so far this is the first time I seen company really just throw their community into a blender like this...then again I only played like 3 other gachas which isn't a lot.

This observation came right in time with how I'd like to pretty much introduce the game to new players that are flocking in.

PB's decisions as of late to change how we get currencies, paid banners, and the progression of the main story and character building has been a damn journey.

I don't think you're ungrateful, I wouldn't call anyone that honestly because as the consumer YOU are the the one, p2p or f2p, in the end that has be entertained by this nsfw game. The only one in existence that is catered to both women and men audiences. With that in mind, you'd expect to see something worth buying/taking up nearly 8gb of space on your phone for.

When the game was first teased, me and my friend were talking about it and she was overwhelmed by the amount of characters they kept showing, I met her through the Obey Me fandom, so that was our bread and butter for the majority of conversations. When I moved on to WHB, she didn't come with, she stayed for like maybe a week or two and dropped it. I forget mostly why which I could ask her again on her opinion.

But I'll let you in on something I saw the other day, the community over in LaDS has been having some issues with their banners/other gacha related things as well stating that this recent banner is driving players away. I don't play LaDS but PB isn't the only company it seems starting to switch things up when it comes to decisions.

The S+ cards confuse me because what they introduced was hey here's beach Rara (Raphael) and he has an adore mode, a story with mild spice, and you chats/more lore about this bitey boi. I had so much fun reading through that. Amy and Sitri's all we get are the likability things and well from the previous expectation? That made me shake my head. (also for the extra gold keys thing, apparently it's only that high if you want to get it early, the card is going into the banner immediately after the event so in theory we all literally could have waited to pull them so we wouldn't have to spend that amount of gold keys)

As far as content goes, I think ultimately there's too many characters to work with. If anyone on the staff has a brain like me, it would be very easy to neglect characters here and there. I also do not like that Gehenna has yet ANOTHER noble (sorry Amy) but other countries are lackin'.

All in all I hear you. Chapter 6 and Mammons/Amy's events though have me believing that the best has yet to come, these banners though....we will see... Maybe things will pop off when Asmodeus debuts..

Istg they brought up Sorcerer's Society a few times and never brought it up again so it feels like the entire Sorcerer's Society was created by me at this point 😭 i re-wrote a lot of lore (My MC is a heir to Sorcerer's Society and was sent to Devildom after they agreed to help Diavolo with his plans) it feels like my own original story with vaguely Obey Me themes.. tho maybe that's a good thing?

The Sorcerer's Society is definitely another part of the OM world that gets mentioned when it's convenient and ignored the rest of the time. It suffers the same way the Celestial Realm and angels do - there's no space to explore them casually because the focus is on the game's large roster of dateable characters. They're a plot device when necessary and a neglected footnote in the story the rest of the time.

Your MC's story sounds really neat! I have some WIP ideas focused around the Sorcerer's Society too:

An AU where my MC is part of the society before the exchange program starts

Headcanons about what it'd be like for an angel or demon OC to be a student there as part of the exchange program

Cross-over potential with other games I like lol Arcana Twilight has entered the chat.

And of course, my underdeveloped sorcerer OC who's taken a back seat while I hammer out the rest of my Celestial Realm/fallen angel worldbuilding. :(

There's definitely ways to tie in Solomon's unexplored backstory/history too. There's a lot of potential drama from his rise as a sorcerer and the creation of the Sorcerer's Society. Tying it all into the bits of Devildom and Celestial Realm history that's been hinted at already would be fun, like his relationship with Michael and other angels and the impact of his seven-day war with the Devildom.

Honestly, I think that's fantastic. When you put so much effort into fleshing out a world that barely exists, it becomes your own creation. (For me, The Fall is a couple Obey Me references away from being an original work too.)

Okay so

Barbatos is probably Nightbringer. He can control time and is self-aware (i think that's canon?) and in the trailer after showing Nightbringer n stuff he was shown like shhing us. And Solomon was the one talking n stuff (pretty sure) so. As we already know Solomon has some type of deal or sum with Nightbringer. And Solomon said that MC disappeared in the present but when we go back to the present it's like nothing happened. And Solo said Barbatos sent him back in time. Which may be a lie idk probably not. I highly doubt Solomon could go so far back in time. He has a pact with Barbatos so he could control him n stuff. Maybe when MC and Solo came back Barbatos took everyone's memory or sum??? Maybe idk. Also, when Diavolo is questioning us abt sending us home if you choose the "The future." option when Diavolo asks where we're from, Barbatos says something. Not Solomon, Barbatos. So that's really sus. Solomon doesn't say anything at all abt it actually.

And Simeon. Simeon is sus asf. Didn't really think abt him until i saw a post abt him being Nightbringer. It was a really good theory with great evidence but it also doesn't make full sense. But he is definitely suspicious. Cuz in one of the chats between Solo and Simeon, Solo says sum abt how he used to live with MC. Well. He responded with "really? When?" or sum along those lines am too lazy to look. But yeah. And Solo answered "Like.. A really long time ago?" or sum like that. (again, too lazy to look)

Everyone knows no one knew MC before the exchange program and MC didn't even know demons or magic existed, so yeah. And if he did remember all the past in NB he would've remember MC. Cuz i don't think MC changed a lot besides using a demon form. And someone probably told Simeon abt MC having the ring of light while explaining what happened to MC when we fell into a coma.

AND if you have Solo as the character on your homescreen he says sum abt how Simeon being there in the past is weird n stuff.

There is so much more abt this but i can barely think rn for sum reason so this is all now. Maybe when we get new lessons i'll talk abt it again :3

I'm not normally a victim of FOMO tactics, nor do I usually let being late to the party stop me from chatting about a piece of media but I'm genuinely sad I didn't get into Obey Me/Nightbringer earlier. It makes me want to write a million essays but the disposable and decentralized nature of gacha kind of makes it feel like you missed your chance to talk about it. I keep coming across years old, unrepliable comments that I want to jump on sooo bad but I can't because the moment is gone and most of these people have likely moved on to less overtly money-hungry games.

Which sucks! because one essay I want to write in particular is how this game is extremely skilled in arousing your desire to create, to actively engage with the characters and worldbuilding, to do fandom shit, and I find this enormously fascinating in itself. The story isn't good but to a certain extent, it's not supposed to be; it functions as an elaborate set of writing/art/rp prompts for its audience to expand on and tailor to their needs.

And I think Obey Me does this well! Amazingly well. I find discussion of narrative structure fascinating, the study of how we define writing as effective, good, or as failures, so I'm drawn to this story full of contradicting lore, one-note characters, and half-finished plots. The story isn't good but that hardly matters because it's not here to be a good story; it's here to throw you into imagination boot camp. It compels you to speculate what it could be, what this character could be, what a slightly different tone would look like, what other people think about it. It feels distinct from the average popular show fandoms where, to an extent, creators congregate simply because that's where the people are. Creating for your own sake is nice and all but validation is usually a stronger force. Usually.

I keep coming across old high effort researched posts about abrahamic religions and occultism from fans setting themselves up for inevitable disappointment. I keep coming across creators leaving notes on their work like "I haven't written a thing in ten years, but,". I keep losing it over heartfelt posts defending x and y canon story decisions with their whole chest, oblivious to the fact that they're misremembering their personal tweaks/headcanons as what happened in the game, like it's seriously so cute when they're so passionate and completely wrong.

I have no idea if fandom actually plays a role in the lucrativeness of a franchise (though as a personal anecdote, I 100% started Obey Me after a single piece of horny Mammon fanart crossed my dash), but it makes more sense to me now, less a projection of wishful/haterful thinking from those with strong opinions about Fandom. Maybe it really does matter.

So according to some of the Green Team chat yesterday, the Temporary Eggs may show up today, and the full Egg Wars event is tomorrow (9th).

My hope is that - regardless of, or even when Egg identities come to light - the team leaders come together to talk about it. Perhaps at the global spawn, accompanied by a second. Truce rules, for as long as they last.

The EvilEye (who self described themselves as evil) said that they have to be first to kill an enemy’s egg to get a huge portion of the event points. But why they should obey him at all is beyond me - or believe that anything said will be upheld at the end. I’m firmly on Philza’s side where his view of things lined up at the moment. They need to rebel against the cruelty of this event any way they can, and not taking an innocent life should be one of those ways.

That said. I am very eager to see how the next two days shake out regardless. There are so many ways this can twist and turn, and I think Quackity’s promise regarding weathering trials is absolutely going to find fruit.

Also wtf are the Federation doing on the Island that requires everyone to be yeeted away as it is? And who has been keeping Arin-Luzu imprisoned?! And why was Purgatory originally “Egg Island”? Here’s to some more drips and drops of lore ahead of us.

Each brother would get a rival you had to get through before dating. Some would be easy, others would be next to impossible (ex: Lucifer with Rival Diavolo)

Satan and Lucifer's relationship would get more development, as would Belphie and Lucifer. We would get more text options (if I could, I would so create a hyper intelligent AI for chats and stuff specific to each brother so you could reply how you wanted)

The lessons would go into more detail for the world. The brothers would be more demonic. Things such as that

If I didn't have to make it an otome game:

You would be a human sorcerer working as Solomon's apprentice (not unlike Nightbringer, from what I understand). The goal of the game would to be to collect pacts with various demons, but you end up getting roped into the brother's problems.

The overarching plot would either be focused on Diavolo and his fight for the throne (ah, royal lore I haven't shared yet) or an impending war with heaven (which is due given how long peace time has been)

IF Development Update (it is a silly goofy world and i must obey its rules) (7/6/23)

It's looking very "fuck it, we ball" for Contra Spem Spiro now that I've started writing. I cannot be contained I fear, not even in my own mind..

On another note, I've decided to affectionately call the main group of alien invasion survivors:

The Lonely Loser Survivor's Club.

did C come up with the name? Yes.

In a world where their phones were working and all of them were in a groupchat, C would make this the groupchat name, make the icon a spongebob meme, and be immediately kicked out by V.

C gets added back to the groupchat by A, only because C called A immediately after getting kicked out the chat and whined to A about "make V be nice to me! I'm a fucking delight! I was a pleasure to have in class!"

A is the one that sends music links everyday and they actually have playlist compiled with songs that remind them of their close friends (and MC gets their own, super special playlist, if A is being romanced)

C sends Tik Toks, of course. And Buzzfeed Tasty videos.

X picks fights with Siri. X also discovers emojis and sends at least 5 with every text they send. They don't fit with the tone of the texts either.

X: "Hit a pedestrian with my spaceship today. 🤣🥳🧌🩴🗿"

A: "you hit a who with your what?"

X: This is not a verbal conversation, A. You can reread my message to clarify your confusion. 🧋🪚💯"

This was a surprise for everyone, but Z is the person with the best memes. The comedic timing, the quality of the memes, the way they can convey so much with one gif...their talent should be studied.

Z is also the only person who won't get blocked on sight by V for spamming the groupchat with messages. (Not that Z would ever do that, but V has to let everyone else know that they're on thin ice just by existing)

Okay that's enough of me indulging in an AU where they get to have "normal" lives with things like cell service *wistful sigh*

I've done more work on character developments, alien lore, and i've gotten about 500 words of the prologue on paper (hoping to get to 1000 by the end of the night, but again, we ball and I'm going with the flow.)
