On that virgin MC talk. Honestly? An MC who is curious and exploring all of these kinks would be a much better approach. If it was written well, but excluding PB's bad writing it sounds more believable for an MC experiencing culture shock in Hell, but then giving the opportunity to explore everything themselves seems more interesting. We know Solomon was into every phillia but it doesn't mean MC has to be the same. I think it will help things out for MC to have a more neutral stance and we can choose if we're into it or not, rather than MC flip flopping between being an absolute disgusting freak to a quivering confused wet blanket. Maybe I should start ignoring MC because honestly I still don't get why the MC is adored this much by all the devils.

GACHA MECHANICS: Nu:carnival vs What in "Hell" is Bad?(Part 2 Final, the Electric Bugaloo)

HELLO I have made a second part to this, so hold onto you tighty whities because it's about to get WILD.

NOTE:  Please keep in mind that these are my opinions and criticisms. DO NOT let my perspective sway your decision in anyway unless you need otherwise. Same as pt 1, some parts of this essay is just an overview of how the currencies/pulling/banners work so feel free to skim to the thesis of each paragraph. Thank you and please enjoy reading!

Sorcery Gem Reruns vs. Chance up banner

As perviously mentioned in my last post, majority of the rerun banners for Nucarnival requires sorcery gems and for most f2p it's expensive because even 50 gems is equivalent to $53.97 and some of the banners require 100 gems to hit pity.

In What in Hell is Bad, The Chancce Up banners are for early access, and like most gacha banners, any character that shows up in the Chance Up banner will be put into the standard pool. Users can pull from this banner using Solomon Seals which are similar to sorcery gems, but like sorcery gems, they can be quite expensive...

SO we all know the Chance Up banners have 500 seals = 10 pull, and 500 seals cost up to $17.62(1200 ecoins) + $1.82(120 ecoins) which is comes up to $19.44. Another thing, for the most players can get is up to 3,000 seals would cost 6,527 ecoins which rounds up to 2,400($35.25) + 3,675($53.94) = 6075 ecoins for $89.19, but that's not enough since we need 452 more ecoins, so users would have to buy 720 ecoins($10.64). As a result, $89.19 + $10.64 = $99.83 so we would have to pay almost $100 for 60 pulls and if the math is correct, 500 = 10 pulls, the pity is 220 pulls, so we would need 110,000 seals. In order to get 110,000 seals, we'd have to pay even more than $200 at best and I've heard players who spent even $300. Not to mention the seals shop does not open until there's a new Chance Up banner and we can usually get them via achievements and the Holy Portal, but even by playing the Holy Portal, they usually give about 6 seals at best.

The best thing that PB can do is allow the seals shop to be permanent, which allows players to buy seals and save them overtime. Nucarnival has done effective job making the sorcery gems pack permanent and allows for players to buy gems and also accumulate over time until they want pull from a specific rerun banner or even buy other stuff with said gems(ie. Eiden's outfits in one of their recent updates).

HOWEVER the Chance Up are for players who want to pull for a character sooner rather than wait for three months. So having to buy the seals isn't a must, but if players can an the character exclusively then pulling on the banner is the way to go.

The Pancake Problem

Around July 4th, PrettyBusy released an update where they removed the original pancake shop and replaced with it nightmare pancakes. What's the big deal though? WELL my friend, based on the MANY criticisms amongst the fandom and community itself, the new pancake no longer has the red keys like the previous pancake shop. The new pancake shop has cosmetics and other characters for exchange(which...still doesn't really help..) Not only that, but buy selling artifacts and tealeaves below S+ grade, players receive coins and books of Crawley. In the previous pancake shop, users are able to sell their lower grade artifacts and tealeaves for pancakes and exchange pancakes for red keys. However, due to the recent update, players can only get nightmare pancakes by selling S+ or L grade artifacts and tealeaves. Oh and by the way, the only way to pull for S+ and L grade items is by using lesser keys TO WHICH people have to save up in order to pull on the lesser key banner. Keep in mind, it's already hard enough to save up keys and then having to use them for nightmare pancakes to get more? Saving for gacha is supposed to be funny, albeit it's not a cake walk, but it's not supposed to push players to break the bank.

The Lesser Key Shop

Later on July 19th, PB has yet again released another update, but this time they added a Lesser Key Shop.

It seems that they did not remove it entirely and decided to keep it in it's own section. Although it's a start to improvement, it's a long way to go considering the amount of guilty gems that players would have to exchange. If anything, the previous cost for 30 lesser keys were 1,980 guilty gems, but they reduced it so 1,366. Even if the keys were discounted, it doesn't accomodate to players that are trying to save. On the hand, it's to help compensate for the developers end to try and get players to spend on the game. In of itself is understandable, but not the best– let alone wisest choice to gets players to spend.

I also did a poll on how players feel about the update(link here) and by the looks of it, there's a large percentage of people who like it and people who do not like it. OH and by large I mean by a whopping margin of 54.5%. The margin between "it could be better" and "I don't like it" is 18.5% while the other margin between "I like it" and "it could be better" is 36%. Now the voting ends quite soon, but just by the results already tells and everyone in the community that they don't agree with this and it needs to get better. YES it's a stepping stone to better the game, but by sending more feedback and emails, it pressures the developers to listen to users, only then would we see changes for the better.

Some solutions

By keeping in mind of the most recent update...

Either remove the nightmare passes or reduce the cost. Players who are f2p or just on a budget do not need to go out of their way to spend hundreds to buy a characters then they can just pull on standard banners or change the method entirely. Not to mention, we now have gotten word the the nightmare pass may be an early access, but that doesn't mean that players should have to buy the characters.

Change the challenges. What on EARTH is the point of completing trials if we're just going to get free rewards instead of the superior ones? Let me iterate, a gacha is meant to be fun and yes requires effort, but what happens if that effort goes for nothing? It loses the players interest and defeats the purpose of having trials and completing them without being rewarded.

To refer to the first solution, maybe try a different method, like doing event trials to get the character that players want. Seeing how WHB has character events, it's only fair that players can earn characters through achievements. By doing so pushes users to login and play more. I would like to add this post because they provided a great, fair solution as well!

Reduce the cost of Solomon Seals and guilty gems. We do not need to remove it entirely, but micro-transactions are important. If PB wants players to pay, they need to consider who is their demographic and what kind of budget they would have.

Have different event banners using lesser keys. In many gacha games like Genshin Impact and Twisted Wonderland(yeah I'm going there–) use their standard currencies for banner reruns. OF COURSE taking into consideration of how players need to save lesser keys and how they are able to.

Either bring back the original pancake shop or remove the nightmare pancake shop. It's great that the new pancake shop has cosmetics, but players can buy that through another section instead of having to use pancakes. I also say this because players have to buy other material using nightmare pancakes and the cosmetics, although a bonus, doesn't quite help a lot and doesn't change course of the game and it's mechanics.

In Brief...

Prettybusy has a lot of work to do if they want their consumers to continue playing the game, they should consider the mechanics used in Nu:carnival because of how accommodating they are towards their players. Even if it's not Nu:carnival, they should consider other gacha games as well such as: Twisted Wonderland, Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, Wuthering Waves, etc. They should think about lowering the costs of nightmare passes, or removing it entirely or even reducing the costs of solomon seals and guilty games. By adding new banners or trial events to gain characters and have more people play the game. Overall, having new perspectives, new insights, and new feedback will allow for WHB to get better and to push the devs to do better.

On that note, keep sending emails, and feedback to the devs because it pressures them and based on the recent update, there's a new silver lining that will part the clouds. Keep pushing and keep fighting–POLITELY please...

From what I've been seeing it feels like PB is focusing on quantity over quality. Things like Obey Me, TWST, and Nu-Carnival has a sizeable group of characters, but they're not too huge so it allows them to flesh each one out to a certain extent, but then they can introduce a diverse set of cards on each of them so you're not starving too much.

WHB has not only has 6 Kings and one more on the way, but they also keep introducing more nobles and angels. In a way it's not bad, but this is why I seriously feel it is a case of quantity and not enough quality. From what I've seen in this community, characters that have been in the game since Day 1 are being super neglected. Then we a have every new L card released being paywalled, nightmare passes that also have the top rewards paywalled, are more frequent, even this time around the S+ card requires more gold keys and it doesn't have anything remotely special about it whereas the last S+ did which was extremely exclusive only. Honestly it's...really sad. Now you don't NEED these cards and I'm not asking for freebies, but in the end they are asking for your life savings for even just the decent stuff, and then you still have to deal with the gacha to do that.

I personally need a decent amount of characterization to really appreciate a character so I do appreciate the world building but no character has stuck with me yet. So everytime a new one is released I go: "Okay but what about like...the existing ones?" Our last one was Leraye, which I'm sorry, it's just a reskinned of his OG card and I found that really scummy which was probably why he was locked through achievements which...was the saving grace still it was the only time it happened. The story was nice though.

I don't want to come off as ungrateful and I probably am, but I just don't understand PB's decisions on what they're doing anymore. We can't use the "they're a small company" card, I'm sure they're not the only small company, but I don't have any sources, but so far this is the first time I seen company really just throw their community into a blender like this...then again I only played like 3 other gachas which isn't a lot.

This observation came right in time with how I'd like to pretty much introduce the game to new players that are flocking in.

PB's decisions as of late to change how we get currencies, paid banners, and the progression of the main story and character building has been a damn journey.

I don't think you're ungrateful, I wouldn't call anyone that honestly because as the consumer YOU are the the one, p2p or f2p, in the end that has be entertained by this nsfw game. The only one in existence that is catered to both women and men audiences. With that in mind, you'd expect to see something worth buying/taking up nearly 8gb of space on your phone for.

When the game was first teased, me and my friend were talking about it and she was overwhelmed by the amount of characters they kept showing, I met her through the Obey Me fandom, so that was our bread and butter for the majority of conversations. When I moved on to WHB, she didn't come with, she stayed for like maybe a week or two and dropped it. I forget mostly why which I could ask her again on her opinion.

But I'll let you in on something I saw the other day, the community over in LaDS has been having some issues with their banners/other gacha related things as well stating that this recent banner is driving players away. I don't play LaDS but PB isn't the only company it seems starting to switch things up when it comes to decisions.

The S+ cards confuse me because what they introduced was hey here's beach Rara (Raphael) and he has an adore mode, a story with mild spice, and you chats/more lore about this bitey boi. I had so much fun reading through that. Amy and Sitri's all we get are the likability things and well from the previous expectation? That made me shake my head. (also for the extra gold keys thing, apparently it's only that high if you want to get it early, the card is going into the banner immediately after the event so in theory we all literally could have waited to pull them so we wouldn't have to spend that amount of gold keys)

As far as content goes, I think ultimately there's too many characters to work with. If anyone on the staff has a brain like me, it would be very easy to neglect characters here and there. I also do not like that Gehenna has yet ANOTHER noble (sorry Amy) but other countries are lackin'.

All in all I hear you. Chapter 6 and Mammons/Amy's events though have me believing that the best has yet to come, these banners though....we will see... Maybe things will pop off when Asmodeus debuts..

Hi, I'm not usually one to talk, I've had my account for years and never really posted anything. But I'm beyond annoyed about this freaking game. (I'm sorry I’m about to rant please forgive me 🙏🙏🙏)

I feel that you and many other players new and old feel the same about this company turning around to make something 12+ when it started off as a porn centered/adult only game.

They aren't the first ones to do this, and the other fandoms too had their issues about companies making a decision to turn a NSFW game into SFW even if they scrubbed it clean enough for a younger audience to play. This game and those games were never for minors and don't need to be. This space ain't for them especially given the themes and content that's in WHB just from the main story alone.

At the same time, my overall gripe about this game, is that what the transparency and expectations given to me from the company has been a huge let down. I don't think I'd mind the monthly NP's if we consistently had chapters out for the main story within the timeframe given and a good balance of cards available for the kings instead of the barely any for Satan but damn near double the amount of cards for Beel and Levi. If I were to compare this game to ObM which I don't like doing because they aren't remotely the same...is that I prefer WHB's story (collectively not just the main) whereas I only liked ObM's story up until a certain point. I only really stayed for the fandom and then I was like "yeah no" and left that fandom. Not that it matters that I left anyway because all of my progress on the OG ObM game was lost cause my old phone got damaged in the laundry machine 💀 Which brings me to the reason I don't like spending money on virtual things nor gacha. If the server shuts down, the app doesn't update with the new tech, or if an unfortunate thing happens like it did to me all of that money and time is gone. I could have invested that in something tangible/physical or just anything else.

With that being said, I've been slowly working on writing the H-scenes in my own way with my MC so there's that. It's been something on my mind for a minute now on doing...

Besides if people hate Levi because he has a stick up his ass...then they're valid because the people who do love him are aware that he has a stick up his ass, but like the other kings he's complex too. Got some more thoughts on the matter! I feel the dislike with Satan's card isn't really just the blatant SA that everyone is saying. To dig deeper it seems like it's because it's all entirely OOC. Satan got tricked into getting captured because he saw an angel that looked like MC? MC being Gabriel and all but not really telling Satan that its them and instead just goes straight for it. Feel free to correct me if I said anything wrong.

Like if anything Satan was MC's first devil who saved their friend and brought them to Hell. Was there any level of sentimentality? I don't have the card so I can't say but I'm basing this on the posts I've been reading. Like if I was in MC's shoes I would be worried and wanting to save Satan, the devil who saved my friend and MY life. but to do that I'd have to be a convincing Gabriel first but let him in on that plan before we break him out and whatnot.

It just feels like Satan was written dumb, and MC was written like a psycho for no reason than to be "lololol horny horny porn insert yay!!"

The entire story felt like it written terribly. It's a porn game yes, but it could have still be porn that's written well. But once again we can't really rely on PB to write anything good or translate.

In my react post it may have came off to some that the SA is what bothered me, when in fact it was exactly what you said here. I consume dubious content, I won't pretend I don't. However, this story for Satan was ooc and didn't feel like it was doing his character justice as his other cards. I also just didn't care for MC's lack of committing to Gabriel's personality nor telling him that it was them at any point of the story.

While I'm all for porn being there for the sake of it, this just wasn't written good enough for me to give it that pass. At least not for me it wasn't. With Zagan's new L-card coming up soon I really do hope they wow us and make it to where the card is worth the money spent for the NP Also this statement is more so for anyone reading my reply to you: I don't have a problem with folks liking the card or any other story just as much as I wouldn't mind if someone disliked something I liked. This is a fandom with a good variety of players, we all don't have to agree.

I dare say, that even if they wanted to keep up the SA factor...at least have it so believable where MC does it so well, they even start questioning whether or not they are on the devil's side. So well that Satan's depression bottoms out and we see him crash out. (that's if ya'll really wanted some toxic mess)

Two Gabriel's. Who's the real one? It should be hard to tell, Ronove's spell should fool just about anyone and then Raphael and Michael come in and are like....."that one is Gabriel because my blood is boiling rn." and it's the real Gabriel 💀

We need to revoke their writing privileges because I’m afraid for the next ones. But also I’m more surprised that so many people hated this card. Which makes me curious and not criticizing but I wonder how this one got more flack than the Angels. I don’t have any of those cards but I remembered some people didn’t like those either for the SA.

So I can't really speak for everyone in the fandom and wish not to. However, based on my observations, I believe that it's the way the non-con was written and that fact that it was MC doing this to the devil who saved them and loves them. If I had to guess the feeling, it would be that of betrayal.

Now this is me reaching, but it read almost as if the writer didn't feel like writing it in the first place and just gave us something. It felt similar to Michael's Christmas card to me in the way it was presented. Raphael's had more thought, Gabriel's card had a twist in there that made it more personable.

There's a lot I have to ramble about this topic and this card but if I feel like blabbing about it I shall in another post later. For now it's like??? and that's where I'm at.

I've seen mixed reviews about the anniversary but this is the first I've seen talk about the anniversary pic. When I looked at it, it's nice but I wish they would have made something more interactive like how everyone was in the first group photo.

They could have even did a thing like Asmodeus just chillin' in the back because no one wants him near them, Belphie asleep on someone probably Satan's shoulder. Levi in the middle being annoyed because everyone is piled on him.

I think the best MC for this universe would be someone who occasionally comes across lewd stuff and knows of it but since it's new to them they are just exploring and having fun vs "HUH ITS RAINING DILDOS" as a super power or "OH NO IT FEELS LIKE IM PISSING MYSELF BUT IM COMING???"

A cool power would be if they wanted to make it funny, a crossbow made up of dicks that shoots arrows of light. And then each time MC comes maybe have them be like "this feels odd but good, let's relax and see what happens" and boom.

I'd also be partial to virgin MC that was only curious about porn that first time Gabriel came in Minhyeok's room and then in Hell it's a crash course of all things horny and they have to adjust as needed.
