I would honestly rather have actual books or stories that are fleshed out and written with thought and detail than a game at all.

It's not a question of will they kill for you, but rather, who do they have to kill? Because of course they would.

If it's some nobody lesser demon, chances are they can do the deed and get away with it without anyone knowing (or caring) about it after. Higher-ranking demons within the nobility are more of a challenge - the social and personal consequences are much higher, assuming the original offense is a minor infraction and not something that would warrant a formal punishment of the court. If it's something serious, it's better to let Diavolo take care of it (and trust when he says that he will).

Angels are tricky to deal with. Outright killing one would probably anger Diavolo too much, let alone what Michael's reaction would be. Punishments for Celestial Realm denizens who offend or hurt you (and by extension, the demons that care for you) are non-lethal and have to be carried out with some level of care and subtlety. They can't arouse too much suspicion or anger from the other realms. Fortunately, angels aren't likely to do anything too grievous towards you anyway. (The angels that know you best have their own methods of dealing with their angelic brothers or sisters that need a little enlightenment when it comes to your happiness and well-being.)

When it comes to deadly retribution, humans are probably the easiest for your demon companions to dispose of. With their frail bodies and fondness for sin and reckless behaviour, humans die unexpectedly all the time. So long as they're careful not to leave any evidence of their involvement behind, some poor human's unexpected demise is coincidental at best. Your pet demon isn't likely to be held accountable for it either - assuming Solomon hasn't taken care of the miscreant first, that is.

Of course, killing is such a vague concept, and each of your demonic friends has their own preferences when it comes to getting their hands a little bloody for you.

RECKLESS AND IMPULSIVE: It might surprise you how quick they respond to aggression or insults towards you and the level of violence they're capable of. Their love for you is so strong, they can't help it. Perhaps it's better to beg forgiveness than to ask permission, because they know you're too kind for your own good. Letting some no-good demon get away with hurting you, even the tiniest bit, is unthinkable. It doesn't really matter what you say, because once the switch flips, it's too late to stop them. The demon is already dead at their feet before anyone else nearby even realizes what happened.

Hc that since the brothers are in a pact with MC they can hide in mc's shadow. But because they're such high ranking demons the act is usually seen as below them. (Tho tbh this doesn't stop belphie when he's tired and doesn't wanna walk anymore).

so I'm picturing something like Dark Link except in the om! universe, MC's reflection/shadow takes the form of whatever demon is currently hiding in their shadow.

some brief limitations/ideas:

only one brother can shadow-step with MC at a time

there's some sort of telepathic/mind communication they can use while the demon is actively lurking in the shadow

the demon can channel their power into the shadow and give it a corporeal/semi-physical form to act as a reflection of themselves

their shadow form has limited abilities and mostly acts off base instincts driven by the demon and MC's emotional states

sometimes they use it just to keep MC company when they're busy elsewhere. other times, they can use MC's shadow to check on them if they get bad vibes. the first sign that things are about to get serious are when MC's shadow elongates and takes on the shape of whatever demon is present, horns and tail/wings clearly on display...

What annoys me the most in this whole mess is, they shut down(or stop updating) their previous games (assuming) because of obey me, as a player from the first day OM! Release, i think other games have a way better writing, and most importantly, they have romance/romantic scene(lol).

I really don't want to feel like this, because when OM! Released, i was like wow, the UI, playstyle, all different and more polished, and more importantly they are voice! But after one after another previous games got shut down (assuming because they want to focus on OM!) it makes me angry ngl.

Sorry, I went to bed last night and it kind of feels like a weird fever dream. I wasn't 100% actually this happened until I double-checked Twitter. lol

The transition from OG to NB caught me by surprise, but I'm less surprised that the new NB app and story hasn't worked out the way Solmare hoped. I'm just grateful we had some warning, not that it does the player base any good with how sudden it is.

It feels like the community was trying to convey what it hoped to see from Obey Me in the future, and Solmare decided stopping the story and going in a new direction (whatever the fuck that means) is easier than *checks notes* writing a coherent story with more romantic elements.

I'm not sure what their plans are now. I'm not really a fan of the 3d models so more concerts wouldn't tempt me, but maybe more seasons of the anime? I like collecting merch and books when I can too, but international shipping can be a bit cost prohibitive. Some of the music is okay even if I’m not a fan of the remixes. I'm excited for the full version of Waiting Kiss but The Seven Rulers song was a bit. Well. It's giving very OP theme for a magical girl anime vibes. That or something from The Care Bears.

Fun facts about Tenebris attending RAD:

Diavolo invited him to join the faculty and teach, but Tenebris declined because he didn't want the extra responsibility

Tenebris didn't want to wear the same RAD uniform as Dia, but he agreed to wear the blue RAD medallion instead of the red one most students wear. (The white tie is a coincidence, or so he claims)

His spellbook appears and vanishes at random. Sometimes it floats behind him in the hallways when he walks between classes, sometimes he's seen reading from it in place of whatever standard-issue textbook other students have, sometimes it's nowhere to be seen at all

His best classes are Curses & Hexes and Seductive Speechcraft. His worst classes are Art and Music (he's not skilled at either)

There's a portrait of him in one of the history textbooks because of his extraordinary magical feats. He is still trying to convince Dia to have the book republished with his picture removed

Tbh I think Solmare did the right thing by calling it quits but they still chose a very scummy way to do so. Imo they should've given a warning at least five months before the announcement so people can decide whether they wanna spend money on the game and all. But yeah, Nightbringer really wasn't going anywhere— nearly all blogs I follow stopped talking about the main story and everyone kinda went off to their own thing which is something I definitely respect. To me, the announcement felt like accepting defeat as well.

I know a lot of people that stopped following the NB story or were behind with it because it wasn’t as engaging. I was in that boat and mostly kept up with updates for potential Celestial Realm/Michael lore nuggets but the interesting stuff got bogged down by weird/outlandish plot developments that left me scratching my head. 🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s always disappointing when stories dry up and the apps go into maintenance mode so to speak. I’m still a bit bummed about Arcana Twilight that went through a similar thing (I can’t wait to compare the two once we see the rest of the current NB season.)

The schedule of upcoming events is interesting. I’m not sure who in their right mind would spend money on this game given the announcement and all. Maybe the die-hard fans? My Nightmare luck has been absolute trash so it hasn’t been a great incentive for me to spend money trying to get cards when it feels like I have to hit pity, which costs more than I’m willing to spend on this game (before certainly and definitely now).

It puts a damper on the holiday season but I think we can still make the best of it. Last year there was a prompt list for Solomon’s birthday, and maybe we can do a Twelve Days of Obey Me prompt list of some kind, or an advent calendar of sorts.

I love sharing food as a love language and as it turns out, the OCs are not immune to its charms either!

This is where culture clash can kick in though, if MC's not careful. Sharing/providing food and cooking is an important part of Devildom courtship customs, and it's also one of the many acts of service angels show affection to their bondmates.

MC offering them food off their own plate, or making the OCs a special meal with their favourites (or even picking up a small treat on the way to visit) is going to give a certain type of impression.

If they’re casual acquaintances or friends at best, they might react with surprise, confusion or be reluctant to accept a gift even though MC might not understand why.

If they’re already dating or skirting the line between friendship and more-than-friends, their thoughts turn to the romantic: that MC is trying to court them, how wonderful, and now they need to step up their game and reciprocate.

Food is nourishment, food is sacred. Sharing food is trust. Hopeful demons provide their intended spouse(s) with food to demonstrate their worthiness.

Whether MC means it or not, the demons are going to jump to that conclusion purely on instinct because none of them have courted or been courted in the past and they're a little stunned and overwhelmed at the prospect. The angels will be a bit more hesitant but curious to test the waters to gauge MC's true intentions. Does MC want to be friends? More than friends? Please say MC wants to be more than friends!

As things between realms can go astray when cultural norms are misconstrued, there's a lot of of funny or cute moments bound to happen when the OCs think they're being wooed while MC is oblivious.

(Wait 'til MC finds out their halfway engaged to a demon purely by accident by acting out a bunch of customs without realizing it rofl.)

There's angst potential there too.

Heheheheehehhee Solomon teaching teen!mc magic mwhhehehehehehehehh

Okay, I think he would love that: someone with an open mind who gets excited by his magical whimsy and appreciates even the simplest spells and tricks he shows them.

It makes him feel proud when he can do the silliest things and get such enthusiastic responses - making items bigger or larger, making things float or zoom around the room, turning everyday items into big, buoyant bubbles or blooms of colourful flowers.

Solomon promises that with a little time and patience, even teen!MC can hold the wonders of the world in their hands like he can. They open their palm and he conjures twinkling stars or puffs of snow or even little dancing flames they can see and touch (nothing that could hurt them, of course).

Solomon likes to make teen!MC laugh with delight whenever he performs one of his charming antics. He enchants their pen so that it sings and cheers in a high-pitched voice while they do homework. Lucifer throws a fit when a little storm cloud follows him around the school and rains on him every time he says or does something mean.

Solomon gets teen!MC all the books about magic he thinks they might like to read, and he gets them their own wand (it looks so much like a toy but he proves it's quite capable of the most potent spells). He even debates getting them their own little apprentice uniform with a coat similar to his own.

But it's not just about silly magic and parlour tricks.

Does Solomon see teen!MC as his little sibling? The child he might never have? No one's really sure, but what they do know is that he adores them. Teen!MC couldn't ask for a better teacher or guardian - so long as they don't eat too much of his cooking.

What are the reactions of canon!casts reacting to mc smelling like your ocs? *let's say that they like mc romantically*

It's probably a mistake MC makes, trying to keep their relationship a secret, but when you live with a bunch of nosy demons with a better sense of smell than you imagine, the ruse only lasts so long.

Most of the time, it's not going to be some dramatic outburst or outlandish threats. The reactions are going to subdued - delayed, perhaps - while they consider all the options. It's going to vary wildly depending on the OC, and certain canon characters will feel more strongly about it than the rest.

Most of them would choke down their own disappointment as long as you're happy and cared for, but chances are they won't be able to pretend they're not seething with bitter jealousy all the time.)

AZRA — He and Lucifer will never be best friends and he's one of the characters that will react poorly to the news. Not in a flashy, dramatic way, but he's going to pretend he's not being petty af when he finds reasons to interrupt your plans together or come up with a bunch of excuses why you're too busy to spend time with him. Satan is an odd place because he and Azra have the potential to be better friends than they are, but he has some negative emotional bleed-over from when Lucifer was an angel which skews his perspective a bit without him realizing it. Solomon reacts the same way that Lucifer does, but where Lucifer feigns indifference (poorly) and tries to interfere in a subtle way, Solomon doesn't pretend at all that he's seriously annoyed by your choice of companion and he doesn't care who knows about it. In fact, he's going to make sure Azra hears his thinly-veiled criticisms and snarky remarks as much as possible, preferably while you're in earshot to hear them all.

ZEE — He's probably one of the better demon OCs to date because none of the canon cast are particularly close to him. It'd be like dating some random demon from RAD: sure, they're upset you're dating him and not them, but Zee hasn't really done anything that justifies them interfering in your relationship too much either. If anything, the same complaints about Azra might apply here because being intimate with Zee naturally means you're going to be drawn deeper into Azra's circle, which certain demons won't appreciate.

KARASU — Most of the demons that know him have to try reeeeally hard to find reasons to dislike Karasu, aside from petty complaints about his quiet demeanor and how he flakes out on social engagements. Levi and Mephisto are the ones most like to work themselves into a jealous fit out of anyone else, but there's not much either of them can really do about it aside from anonymous shit talking online (Levi) or subtle jabs whenever his name is mentioned in the RAD newspaper (Mephisto).

TENEBRIS — Diavolo is the main obstacle and maybe the worst one since he’s, y’know, the future king and all. There’s a lot of weird guilt and deference between them because they try so hard to be supportive and care for each other, but having you choose one over the other is going to sting even if they’ve made their peace with not being chosen. (Honestly, dating both of them or neither of them would have better outcomes than trying to date one and remain friends with the other.) The other unhappy party here would be Solomon, who is smart enough to respect Tenebris’ magical abilities but selfish enough to try and lure his apprentice away from the demon just to spite him.

BELIAL — Another surprising and yet horrifying choice some of the characters will have trouble accepting, assuming they're not already plotting ways to forcibly separate you two first. Out of the demon OCs, Belial is the one that is unpredictable and outwardly dangerous. (It's not that the others aren't, but most of them are quiet about their pasts where Belial tends to gloat about his deadly and chaotic misadventures without shame.) Diavolo and Barbatos are both wary about the development, Lucifer and Beel wonder what went so wrong during the exchange program that you ended up with him of all demons, and none of them can imagine what could entice you to be with someone like him. (Belial knows they won't like it, he doesn't care if they don't like it, and he might even scent or mark you up a bit more just to see them squirm because they can mind their own business.)

FLEURETY — Most demons are going to give you grief about sleeping with a RAD professor, especially one that was notorious for his scientific interest in humans before Diavolo declared those activities a distraction from his goal of achieving peace with the other realms. Most of them admit that Fleurety’s not the worst choice if you had to date someone that wasn’t one of them, but he doesn’t have many close friends among the seven brothers either. Like Zee, their petty remarks and jealousy don’t amount to much although you might have to tolerate their antics if the others are in the same class as you. The “Whatcha gonna do for extra credit?” jokes are going to wear out quickly.

As for the angels, it’s hard for the demons to get too jealous because compared to them, most angels would look like a much better partner for a human like you. If you caught Habuhiah’s eye, or Metatron’s? They won’t blame you for that.

The only angels that would really draw their attention would be:

METATRON — Solomon might be jealous, but I think he’d enjoy sharing the wonderful news with Azra more (to make him jealous).

GABRIEL & URIEL — The most surprising turn of events, neither angel are known for wanting to share or be shared with anyone else. Gabriel is known for being very stubborn and they’re going to wonder how you managed to get under his skin.

MICHAEL — Technically not an OC but I’m including him anyway. Be prepared for a volley of questions like: “How did you end up dating when he’s too busy being a sanctimonious know-it-all?” “Does he eat cake in bed and call it foreplay?” It’s difficult for them to be happy for you (and him) when there’s still a lot of unresolved baggage left to unpack.

Azra: He’s so irritated that his first instinct is to keep going and fuck MC harder. Maybe if he weren’t as jealous as he is, he’d want MC to pick up so Lucifer can hear exactly what it was he interrupted and why whatever he wants can wait. It’s not a coincidence if Azra starts moaning louder than before to drown out the noise until it stops.

Zee: Snarls in frustration, lifts his head up from where it’s buried in the crook of MC’s neck (or between their thighs) and gauges their reaction. If MC asks him not to stop, he won’t (although he may be tempted to throw the stupid thing against the wall just to get it to stop making that awful racket). Like Azra, he tries distract MC from the noise - the growls and grunts and filth he mutters in their ear is more than enough to accomplish that.

Karasu: It startles him and he stops and pulls away instinctively (if you heard him whine or whimper a little, no you didn’t). He would hope only an emergency would prompt Lucifer to call MC during one of their evenings alone together at Karasu’s nest. He’ll need a few minutes after the distraction before he’s ready to resume things.

Tenebris: Oh, MC can answer the phone if they need to, he’ll smother his own disappointment for MC’s sake. Does he pull MC onto his lap so he can hold them (and nuzzle them and kiss them) the entire time? Yes, he does. Does he care if Lucifer hears? No, he doesn’t.

Meta: He startles easily and the sound he makes - somewhere between a yelp and a squeak - is less than dignified. He whines when MC slips out of bed to find their D.D.D. and he pouts until the conversation is done and he’s finally able to pull MC back into bed with him.

Thinking about it, in a world with an otaku!MC the brothers are kind of obligated to be nicer to Levi bc any insults towards him would be dragging MC down with him..

A/N: Oooooh. I wrote Player Two which is the brothers basically treating Levi and MC the same (as geeky weirdos) but MC doesn't really care because Levi's the best friend they've always wanted. Thinking about the reverse of that situation is interesting in its own way too.

It started with a pack of candy. Beel picked it up at one of the Devildom shops known for importing human world sweets. You've talked about the brand and he thought he'd surprise you. He would've given it to you in private, but Levi was glued to your hip more often than not these days. He found both of you in your bedroom playing Super Smash Devils.

"Oh...you meant this was for both of us, right?" you asked, glancing between the pack of candy and Levi guiltily.

Beel fumbled through a lie to cover up his mistake and rushed from the room. He makes a note for next time so he remembers to buy three boxes instead of two (one for you, one for Levi, and one for himself).

After he left, you took a piece for yourself and handed Levi the box. You hummed happily around the coated end of your stick candy while you turned back to the screen to select your character for the new match.

Maybe you bought Beel's flimsy excuse earlier, but Levi didn't. Things have been strange with his family lately, but you seem ignorant about the changing family dynamics going on around you.

The other siblings don't tease Levi anymore when he talks about a game he bought or some random gacha toy he managed to get, because you're excited about it too. They don't want to hurt your feelings, so they try to keep their opinions to themselves.

Some of them, like Beel or Mammon, make an effort to surprise you with little gifts: capsules from a gacha machine in downtown Devildom, overpriced knock-off plushies of anime characters at the ghost carnival passing through. Satan surprises you with manga off your Akuzon wish list, and Asmo paints your nails while you watch anime together in your room.

From Levi's perspective, their sudden change of heart about his dorky hobbies is a double-edged sword.

He's happy that they're accepting of you now. When you first arrived, they initially treated you like a weird outcast—the way they used to treat him. You're not as introverted as he is, and they're making an effort to include you both in activities you might actually enjoy.

But on the other hand, part of him wishes they would just fuck off. You're perfect. He knows you've charmed them as much as you've charmed him, but he was your friend first. He thought he was going to be able to keep you all to himself. He knew from the first time you stepped into his room that you were the real-life Henry he's always wanted. He's the one that should be buying you gifts so he can hoard your praise for himself. You should be spending time in his room, or inviting him to yours, if you want to watch anime.

Why are you even giving them a chance? They don't deserve it. They were too stupid to realize how special you were. Don't you realize they're only tolerating the things you love so they can be close to you?

He tries to hide his growing jealousy, but it gets harder as time passes and his brothers keep finding new ways to insert themselves into your hobbies.

You notice Levi's foul mood sometimes when he can't contain the bitterness that laces his voice or the irritation in his glances. He gives you an excuse so you don't worry about him; he doesn't want to taint you with the bitter venom coursing through his veins.

You're finally happy living in the Devildom now that his family seems more accepting of you—of both of you.

He's furious that their acceptance means having to share you with anyone else.

■ -  Bedroom/house/living quarters headcanon

Mephisto's bedroom is on the second floor of his parent's large estate. In the house's left wing, he has a small cluster of rooms including his bedroom, private bathroom, and office/personal library. It's far enough away from his brother's rooms that they have their own space and privacy, but he's close enough that he can hear his brother call for him (a regular occurrence when he was younger and would have bad dreams). Mephisto's linens and décor encompass the dark, rich colours that remind him of the forest nearby where he likes to ride his horses: dark browns, greens and burgundy. For luxurious accents, he prefers onyx, crystal, or silver.

He is eager to share his interests with his beloved. He would love to take you on a horse ride and have a picnic at one of the meadows near his home. If you're hesitant about the idea, he does everything he can to make it appealing to you: he has a custom set of riding equipment prepared for you including boots, jacket and breeches that look suspiciously like his own, and a helmet. He'll encourage you to ride your own horse, giving you as many lessons as necessary to ensure your safety and comfort, but if you can't be convinced, he'll place you on his horse instead and take the reins for both of you.

The Newspaper Club office is one of his preferred locations when your alluring presence and enticing glances throughout the day are finally too much for him to ignore. Joining the club to be close to him, or simply visiting him when you know he'll be working late on a project by himself, provides many scandalous opportunities for him to indulge in a little depravity with you. He leans against the heavy wooden door after he pulls you inside, tendrils of loose hair falling over his forehead while his breath hitches, and watches as you sink to your knees and reach for his belt. Perhaps he swipes his work carelessly to the floor while he bends you over the desk where he grinds against you while his fingers dig into the soft plush of your hips and thighs. Better yet, maybe he guides you onto his lap while he sits back in one of the leather wingback chairs. He's merciless as he teases you with not-enough friction of his thigh rubbing between your legs. Your gasps and whimpered pleas for more are finally satisfied by his nimble fingers, warm and fragrant from the buttery leather gloves he wears, slipping beneath the waistband of your uniform.

Also not a request but imagine reader loving to brag about how great levi is and telling him all the ways he's better than his brothers. Realllllly scratching his envious itch that never goes away. Him being the only "herbivore type" is actually a good thing.

The thing I imagine about Levi is that he's not used to being complimented or praised. He feels like everyone looks down on his hobbies and how "useless" he is. Their scorn becomes an excuse to justify his anti-social behaviour, but he sulks in his envy and doubles down—he wants what everyone else has, but he shouldn't have to change who he is, either.

So when MC comes along and starts saying things like, "your room is really neat!" or asks him about his favourite games or asks if they can borrow some of his manga, he wants to shrug it off as a way to butter him up. He's not used to someone talking about his interests like they're admirable or cool rather than geeky or deplorable.

MC has a whole list of things that make him different—special—because he is. No one else has a giant aquarium or a pet they adore as much as he cares about Henry, and he has a custom gaming PC and the latest gaming consoles, and his walls are filled with shelves of collectibles and books and manga. His room is perfectly tailored to his interests and designed for his comfort, and MC reminds him repeatedly that he's amazing.

Maybe he struggles with feelings of shame for his hobbies because the others say they're a waste of time (or money). Even then, he can't hide who he is either so he basically builds his own little safe haven in his room. He feels like an outcast and he embraces that role while stewing in his self-deprecation. He accepted a long time ago that no one else would really understand him—but MC tries to, and he appreciates them so much for embracing him for who he is.

Seeing as I dug up my notes on the summoning incantation again... Regardless which variation you use - What would the correct titles for each of your demon OCs be to summon them if you have a pact with them? (Yes, I know Karasu doesn't make pacts but I still wanna know)

That's the incantion used to summon Asmo the very first time in the castle, but I remember it being drastically shortened later on (might have been in NB).
