just saw a post abt tragedies and catharsis and whenever i think about the whole concept of engaging in sad things to inevitably end up feeling better i remember this one time i went to one my meetings with my college therapist(? or otherwise mental health related person who knows lmao) where like. i can’t even remember what it was exactly i was talking abt but it was obviously upsetting me and the lady told me it was okay to cry/emote if i needed to n for some reason i took this as a challenge n managed to get through the whole story without breaking - although admittedly i paused and breathed through my tears a lot - right. and at the end she was like “i noticed you forced yourself to get through this session without letting yourself get physically upset. is there a reason for that?” and i think i said smth like “oh it’s just kind of embarrassing n i don’t like letting myself get upset” and she was like “right, but don’t you think there’s a catharsis in it too? in finally letting it all out? like how you might read a sad story and let yourself feel those sad emotions bc they’re just as valuable as your other emotions?” n in the moment i was like uhhh idk abt that i kind of hate sad stories n kind of actively avoid them like the plague bc i was a 17yo with bad emotional regulation habits but like. clearly this conversation left enough of an impression on me bc now that im older and more able to engage in tragedy in a fun n fulfilling way looking back i have to admit. she really got me there huh. it DOES kind of feel good to let it all out

#x #it admittedly is not perfect bc i really do not like letting myself wallow but that’s more related to reasons such as knowing i will spiral #if i let myself get too in my own head when im upset bc im kind of obsessive like that #but i’m thinking abt this conversation constantly tbh #i literally don’t remember anything else but this session or even this lady or my time talking to her but this moment just stands out soooo #much to me for some reason #things you wouldn’t think were apparently formative but i guess kind of are #now that you look back on it #it’s funny how much time while i was at school i spent going to see counselors and therapists and social workers to ‘talk’ bc of mental #health related stuff lol. it was never something really official bc my parents Do Not Believe in that #and also i did well in school so as long as i was performing to a high standard they would mostly assume i was getting by #but i didn’t realise how excessive it was until in retrospect. i was close w my secondary school #social worker bc she helped me out with a lot of things n everytime there was some new ‘mental health’ intivative or possible person i coul #speak to she would recommend me LMFAO.#anyways. its fine now im just in a funny mood . your teenage years truly are a nightmare

I think we should have a turn of phrase for "I'm not in the right, but I AM annoyed with this situation, so I just need to go bitch to a friend about this before I suck it up and go do the right thing" because more and more I'm finding this is a critical element of functional adulthood.

Thinking about DP x DC Jason Todd being a revenant again. Here's my scenario. Jason gets called that by some ghost. He's like "what the fuck is that supposed to mean?" He's heard the term before but he doesn't know any actual lore. He googles it. He scrolls past the Leonardo DiCaprio bear movie. He opens the wiki. Sees the words "animated corpse" and gets a chill diwn his spine. He starts reading the first section.

He closes Wikipedia.

That night he has a nightmare that his family buried him, again, this time with precautions. He wakes up in his own grave, full of stones, too heavy to move, to scream.

#CANT STOP THINKING ABOUT THIS #like reading this section in the context of jason is SO HORRIFYING #the idea of someone knowing it was possible for him to come back. to wake up down there. and wanting to keep him there #stay dead. we want you dead. you're too troublesome alive. you're meant to be down there.#so anyways. jason internalizing all this shit and feeling uncomfortable in his own body because he's thinking of it as a corpse #and of himself as haunting a place he doesn't belong #and then meeting danny and danny says 'wow you're a revenant aren't you! The dead so restless they can't bear to stay in their graves'#and he smiles. 'You're amazing. on a completely separate note; shizun luo binghe with a disciple shen yuan who fell into the abyss??? *thinks about LBH canonically stealing SQQ's corpse for 5 years* he'd hallucinate i think. like, like visual and audial hallucinations.

Keeps thinking he's seeing SQQ in the corner of his eyes, or wandering between the trees, amongst a group of disciples. Thinks he hears him calling for him, but its just the wind or another disciple.

Gets Xiu Ya reforged but patently fucking refuses to make a sword mound. Because his disciple Is Not Dead :))) There was No Body. He's Not Dead. And If You keep Insisting That He Is, He's Gonna Skewer You :). He's holding onto Xiu Ya so he can return his most favored disciple's sword when he returns. It's on his hip right next to Zheng Yang where it's supposed to be.

Also this motherfucker?? does not sleep btw. He has the image of SQQ, wide eyed and hysterical and standing at the mouth of the abyss burned into his fucking eyelids. Can't use the dreamscape to escape it either because he keeps trying to save him and either he does and it's an incredibly cruel trick to wake up to, or he doesn't and he gets his heart broken in several different pieces again.

There is no convincing this man that Shen Qingqiu is dead. Absolutely nothing at all. He is buried so deep in denial that moles would be jealous of how deep he is. He keeps making tea for two in the bamboo house only to remember that it's just him. SQQ's fans are hiding everywhere, little reminders of his presence. He goes to wake up SQQ on the mornings he sleeps in-- only to find the room empty.

IF THIS HAD BEEN WHERE SQQ WAS THE HALF-HEAVENLY DEMON INSTEAD IT WOULD'VE BEEN SO GREAT.#and by great i mean horribly angsty bc SQQ is NOT doing too hot and has. in very SY-like fashion. convinced himself that LBH will kill him #when he finds out he's a demon. so when it comes out i have this mental image of him lunging at LBH and LBH flinches back. but SQQ wraps hi #hands around the blade of Zheng Yang and yanks it up so the tip of the blade is digging into his chest where is heart is. LBH can't yank th #sword away without risking slicing into SQQ's hands. SQQ's hair has fallen out of its tail/bun and is now messily spilling down his #back and its NO helping the kinda deranged look he has going on. he's visibly shaking and his eyes keep flittering away and back at LBH's #face. SQQ is looking at the messages from the system warning him that he has to go into the abyss or punishment will occur. he's like.#rambling though. talking about how shizun doesn't *like* unclean things and there is nothing more unclean than a demon. like he is #INSISTING. LBH can't?? get a fucking word in. actually. SY isn't listening that much either anyways. too overwhelmed with the system and #the amount of stress he's under and his crumbling mental state and the innate and primal desire to live even when he's standing in front of #his own executioner. it all ends with him sitting on the ground at the lip of the abyss with his hair falling in his face. he looks so #unkempt and fallen apart and so distinctly *non-Shen Qingqiu* that LBH feels physically ill over it. tears are streaming down SQQ's face #and despite everything he is smiling. its not a nice smile. its a very frayed falling apart at the seams about to crack smile.#he tells shizun not to worry about staining his blade with this disciple's filthy blood because this disciple will take care of it himself.#and then he falls into the abyss before luo binghe can so much as grab him. the only reason LBh doesn't literally jump in after him is bc #he was numb with shock and the abyss was already closed before he could feel his legs again :]

taking all my american followers by the shoulders. listen to me. just because you have a more promising candidate now doesn't mean you just assume it's going to be fine and don't bother voting. assuming trump wasn't going to win is how you got here in the first place so you go out and fucking vote for harris and give everyone a fighting chance.

also if you're still in the 'they're both as bad as eachother' delirium, please take your head out from between your cheeks and consider that your options are an imperfect president and the literal worst person alive who is going to get masses of people killed. i've said it like this before, but it's like deciding between maybe getting food poisoning or definitely having a brain aneurysm. take your pick i guess but don't be surprised when you drop dead.
