When you're given the needles for injection HRT, you might be given two sizes for needles, or two sets.

A draw-up needle is what you will use to draw up the medicine into your syringe, and often you will use the larger of the needles in order to draw up the medicine if you're given two differently-sized gauged needles. When I first started testosterone, I was given a set of 18G needles and 20G needles, so I would use the 18G to draw up and the 20G to administer the medicine.

Remember that a SMALLER number is a LARGER needle, and a LARGER number is a SMALLER needle. An 18G needle is LARGER than a 20G needle, and so on. If you need clarification about injection, ask whomever is prescribing your medication to clarify which needles are intended for draw-ups and which will be administered into the body.

This might seem pretty arbitrary, but a smaller-gauged needle will feel differently than a larger needle. Now, I inject with a 23G needle, and I barely feel it compared to a 20G, and that can make it so much easier to take your medicine.

I wanted to make this post because I have seen many people have misconceptions about how an injection is supposed to hurt, and part of what can make an injection painful is the needle you are using.

This might be my asexualness speaking but simply putting your faces together, nuzzling, and quick pecks on cheeks/forehead/nose/etc. will ALWAYS be more loving/intimate than kissing on the lips.

To me, those "smaller" acts of affection are more intimate as it's simply a physical reminder of "Hey, I care about you" and/or "I love being close to you".

I've seen so many people make out just to make out even with folks they don't know (Good for them! I do not care what others do as long as everybody involved is okay!) and I think for Allos, the act of kissing each other's lips is a way to gain physical "pleasure" as well as there are a lot of nerves on the lips.

But lil kisses elsewhere? Your skin isn't touching their skin enough to GAIN any pleasure for yourself other than a happy "I'm just letting you know I care" sorta thing you know? And if it is prolonged nuzzling/closeness, it's still just very "soft". You're doing a small physical act of affection for THEM. And idk I just really love that. Little reminders of love for THEIR sake, you know?

catholic school workbooks???

I don't know how niche of an experience this is but does anyone else who went to Catholic school remember those workbooks you had per grade that covered different parts of Catholicism (usually with a simplified stain glass cover)? I kind of forgot about them until I was babysitting this kid and had to help him fill his own out (it was specifically for his first reconciliation) and I just had to take a picture of his answer for some of the questions

I tried to explain that the questions/answers are supposed to connect back to his first reconciliation but he pointed out that the prompt says "ANY feelings or questions" which was too relatable for me (the literal thinking) 😭. Of course I can't diagnose him with anything but I have known this kid his whole life and he really does seem to be on the spectrum. I just thought I'd share this on my blog because idk I think it's cute and funny. Anyways remember not to swallow salt water‼️‼️
