I love that Luz’s demanding empress tone is described by Hunter as being sharp and commanding even though the words she actually says seem so pleasant and friendly. “You guys are still working too many hours.” Like you can really tell that even when she needs to be the Empress she does not want to be anything like Belos. Mav thought kids were the perfect height for stealing their things. He met a few kids as a puppy, but the first kid he ever met as an adult was wearing giant puffy mittens and Mav tried to put their whole hand in his mouth. He was very gentle, it was fine, but it was mortifying and I was so nervous letting him meet kids after that 😂

He met more kids as a grown up adult and he was largely indifferent - he greeted them with polite sniffs and tail wags and then just stood around while they pet him.

Mav got the chance to meet most of my immediate family. My grandma (not a dog person) was enamored with him from pictures I sent her as a puppy. She knitted him sweaters and would send him little treats, it was extremely cute. She got to visit him and she loved him, she still asks me for updates about him.

i am at my parents' house. my sister is here; our parents are not. because she still lives here my sister has a fancy new memory foam mattress and a double bed. i have the same twin bed i've had my whole life and a mattress that's at least a decade old

so, obviously, the dog has chosen to sleep on my bed. the sensible option.

i ended up going out again and walking well over four miles between trains and buses and stores just wandering around taking pictures of the city and people-watching. my legs and hips are very sore now and i'm gonna sleep super well but. Hello Ability To Walk.
