Do you like bacon? Iā€™m not as wild about it as I used to be, but Iā€™m still definitely into the whole put-bacon-on-everything schtick and I have no problem trying out novelty items that put bacon in donuts, or oatmeal, or cake, or whatever it is haha.
Have you ever wished for something to come true and it did? I mean, yes. Itā€™s ranged from something as simple asĀ ā€œI wish it rains today,ā€ to something as big as wishing that the person I like liked me back.
Do you like Rammstein? Iā€™m familiar with the name but Iā€™m not necessarily a fan.
Do you know a friend of a friend? Yes. I used to drink with Angelaā€™s friends from arki. We never ended up being close but they were always great people to have a few drinks with.
Do you smile for no reason? I usually smile for a reason.
if somebody paid you a million dollars to get a green mohawk would you? Sure. I only stay at home anyway and that makes this whole thing not that big of a deal, honestly.
Ever had a BLT? Did you like it? Itā€™s too basic a sandwich for me, but I wouldnā€™t turn it down if it were the only option available. Iā€™d still remove the tomatoes, though; I never liked those in my burgers or sandwiches.
Are you in College? Not anymore; I graduated a few months ago.
Have you ever been to a State Fair? We donā€™t have those here, first of all because we donā€™t have states haha.
Do you like Youtube? I enjoy a number of YouTube channels and I certainly visit the site everyday, but I donā€™t like the way the corporation itself runs their website. Itā€™s since become very different from what YouTube used to be.
If so whats your favorite channel? At the moment itā€™s Good Mythical Morning, but I also have a number of other subscriptions like BuzzFeed (for their Worth It series), First We Feast, Try Guys, PewDiePie, Anthony Padilla, Anna Park, a couple of channels dedicated to pro wrestling, some eating ASMR channels, among others.
Do you enjoy compulsively cleaning electronics? Canā€™t say I do.
What is your favorite small dog breed? Are beagles considered small dogs? I love them.
Do you smell bacon cooking? Nopes but I do have a dark chocolate macadamia cookie from Starbucks beside me that I can faintly smell.
Have you ever bitten anything for any unknown reason? What was it? I like biting on straws, but thatā€™s about it I think.
Do you like the movie "The Master Of Disguise"? I donā€™t think Iā€™ve heard of it before.
What is the closest thing to you thats red? A paper bag under my desk that holds all the artsy stuff Iā€™ve bought over the years, like my coloring books and paintings.
Have you ever gone into a toystore just to play with the toys? Thatā€™s always made me feel like a freeloader haha, so I never go to toy stores just for that purpose. Iā€™d sometimes play with whatever exhibits they have, but I make sure to go through the different toy sections too.
When was the last time you went through a Mcdonalds Playplace? Maybe when I was 5 ot 6 maybe? I went to Burger Kingā€™s playground way more often since we dined there more. Also, there were always fewer kids so it was more fun to play there.
Do you have an annoying dog? Cooperā€™s a beagle, who are notoriously big balls of energy, and so there are days I just canā€™t keep up with his energy and for those moments I do have shorter patience with him. Itā€™s really not his fault, though.
What was the first comic book you ever had an obsession over? I was never into comic books. I tried for a long time because my two favorite wrestlers are into them, but just couldnā€™t jump on that train.
Do you like kids pop-up books? Loved them as a kid but I was never obsessed enough to have them for my own. I was content reading pop-up books in the school library.
Does anybody else think bugs are cool and interesting? Iā€™m sure there are tons of people out there, but not me.
What kind of toothpaste do you use? Colgate.
Do you own a pair of striped socks? I donā€™t think so, no.
What is the most random thing in your bedroom? An inflatable pig.
In a normal conversation do you slip out Latin? LOL no. I donā€™t think Iā€™ve done that before, unless I was singing something in Latin on purpose.
Can you sing? No. Iā€™m not tone-deaf, but Iā€™m not anywhere near decent either.
If so, what is the highest note you can reach? -
Have you ever been to the cream cheese capital of the world? I donā€™t know which one that is.
Was this survey random? Enough for me to have a good time with it, yes.Ā
Have you ever been in a parade? Iā€™ve been to several Pride marches if they count.
What is your mothers, mothers maiden name? I donā€™t actually remember haha, so I wouldnā€™t be able to share it anyway. Itā€™s a very Chinese-sounding name, though; that much I can share.
Do you have a different hairstyle? No. I just have bangs, which a lot of people already have.Ā
Am I annoying yet? I donā€™t feel annoyed, so youā€™re good.
Do you like soybeans? I havenā€™t had actual soybeans. < Same, but Iā€™m sure I like food products that have soybeans in them or are made out of soybeans.
Do you press buttons just to see what they do? Hahahahahahahaha yes thatā€™s me, Iā€™m that person with the restless fingers.
Do you still play pokemon? I never got into the video games because I was never any good at strategy-based games, but I did play Pokemon Go for a while especially when I was in freshman year of college. Overall, I was mostly into the anime.
What is your favorite pokemon? Jigglypuff.
Have you ever put blue streaks in your white cats hair? I have a white dog, but I wouldnā€™t do this to him even if you gave me dog-friendly dye. Just not my preference.
Are you blond? Nope.
Does it bother you when people have a collar turned up? No.
Are your nails painted? If so, what color? If not, do you like nail polish? Theyā€™re never painted. No, I personally donā€™t see the appeal of nail polish for myself but you do you.
Are you awesome? Iā€™ll let other people be the judge of that.
As a kid did you like Barney, Baby Bop, or DJ more? Wasnā€™t it BJ? Anyway, I liked him the most, then Barney. I found Baby Bop way too whiny.
Have you been to the Bzoink Forums yet? I just go there to look for surveys. I donā€™t actually try out the other features.
Does any key on your computer and or laptop stick? No.
Does fire excite you? Fuck no lmao, Iā€™m terrified of fire.
Have you ever sung in a choir? Never.
Do you go to church? Until March this year, I had attended mass every Sunday all my life. When Covid hit, we started watching YouTube recordings at home. So yeah, no escape.
Have you ever had a theme (pirate, ninja, civil war) day? Like, in school? Yeah we had a themed day in high school once. I forgot what the actual theme was but I remember going as Lara Croft. In college, we used to go with color-coordinated outfits for Valentineā€™s Day, e.g. people who had dates can wear red, those who are single can wear black, those in complicated relationships can wear brown, those who had crushes but canā€™t have them can wear yellow, etc. It wasnā€™t an official rule, of course, but it was always fun for those who chose to join haha.
Can you touch your tongue to your nose? Nopes.
Have you ever been to Philadelphia PA? No. It has an amazing reputation for being a passionate wrestling city though; itā€™d be cool to go there and see a local show or two.
Do you think Orlando Bloom is hot? Heā€™s not unattractive, but I just never had a crush on him.
Do you think Twilight is over-rated? At some point I think it was, but it also got (and continues to get) so much hate that I think that has since been able to balance out the initial overrated-ness of it.Ā
When was the last time you where sick? what did you have? I had a UTI in May, which I never wouldā€™ve known if I didnā€™t take a urine test because all I got was a high fever that never went away. Peeing was never painful for me during that time and my kidney region never hurt either.
What is your favorite number? 4.
Look at your toes. Sure.
If you are a girl do you hate girl drama? Idk what you mean by that. I never grew out of liking gossip, though.
If you are a guy do you hate girls who prolong the drama? -
ZZZ, im tired....are you? A little, but I have coffee so I might stay up for a bit because itā€™s Fridayyyyyyy.
Favorite indie music group? alt-J.
Have you ever pet a monkey? I donā€™t think I have.
Have you ever ridden a camel? Nopes.
Have you ever punched somebody? Never to hurt someone.
Do you like cupcakes? Love them.
Orange or lemon flavoring? Depends on what Iā€™m consuming. I like orange chewy candies, but I like lemonade juice too.
Can you sing opera? Not a chance.
Touchpads or Mouse's? Touchpad.
Have you ever been to a Disney theme park? Nope, I havenā€™t.

Hello, @thatonespamanoshipperā€‹! After your original Secret Santa stopped replying, I (Mod) decided Iā€™d fill your prompt myself! I really apologize for taking so long, but exam season snuck up on me. In any case, I hope you enjoy this HaruTaka nonetheless!
Although admittedly not being quite a holiday prompt, I figured itā€™s a bit too late for that when itā€™s nearly February, so hereā€™s some early Valentineā€™s-themed fluff! Itā€™s still a winter event, so, thatā€™s my excuse! Again, enjoy!
EDIT: Haha, guess who forgot that Tumblr doesnā€™t paste from Google Docs like AO3 does. Italics are now in the fic! lol
A puff of vapor rolled into the dry winter air, Haruka standing transfixed as he watched his breath dissipate. For a long while he huffed and repeated the process, every time taking an awkward glance to ensure the street was still empty, but eventually he realized his throat was starting to burn from the cold. To remedy this, Haruka tightened the scarf around his neck with a little ā€œBrr!ā€, shaking off the snow that had accumulated in his hair.
Standing at the intersection and watching the occasional car go by had lost its novelty after a few minutes, but he couldnā€™t just leaveā€¦ Takane being this late didnā€™t happen often, but he figured heā€™d get an earful if he wasnā€™t there for the walk to school by the time she showed up.
When, finally, she appeared from around the corner, stomping through what was admittedly not enough snow to warrant that drastic of a reaction, Haruka felt like he could kiss the next person he saw.
ā€œ...Hey.ā€ She seemed mad when she finally made it to him, so out of breath that Haruka waited a few moments before he started towards the school.
ā€œUm. Are you okay, Takane? Did something happenā€¦?ā€ His fingers fidgeted with his bag strap.
ā€œYes. Iā€™m absolutely fantastic.ā€ The heavy, anger-laden sarcasm was usual, if not a little exhausting.
Their trek towards the school was silent for a long while, but eventually she sighed.
ā€œ...Sorry for making you wait. I slept in, and then I forgot something I had to bring to school, andā€¦ I dunno, I wish my grandma still drove.ā€ To further prove her frustration, she kicked at a small mound of snow as they passed.
Oh, so she wasnā€™t mad at him. Thank goodness, but he wasnā€™t particularly shocked to hear sheā€™d slept too late. Then again, it wasnā€™t as if he hadnā€™t done the same in the past. ā€œNo, no, itā€™s fine. Whatā€™s the, um, ā€˜thingā€™, though?ā€
When she didnā€™t answer, he wondered if maybe heā€™d ventured somewhere too personal. Heā€™d figured it was fine if sheā€™d brought it up so casually, butā€¦
ā€œItā€™s, um, s-something for Ayano. Uh. Yeah. She needed something, and I had one at my house. Itā€™s no big deal.ā€ She shrugged, staring stiffly ahead.
ā€œOh.ā€ That was vague, but he didnā€™t feel like pressuring her. It was probably a girl thing, or at least that was as far as he was going to guess.
As they walked, Haruka watched the snow tangle itself in her coal-black hair.
ā€œUm,ā€ she started, ā€œyā€™know what day tomorrow, uh, is?ā€
He wondered where this had come from. Was it about her birthday? On second thought, he couldnā€™t remember when it was, but it probably wasnā€™t in Februaryā€¦ at least, he hoped not. Heā€™d have to remember to get that from her again, without letting her know heā€™d forgotten. For now, however, he ventured a guess and hoped he didnā€™t regret it.
ā€œNo, what?ā€
ā€œUh, Valentineā€™s, duh.ā€
ā€œOhā€¦ right. I forgot because, um, I usually donā€™t reallyā€¦ get anything?ā€
She seemed almost appalled by this. ā€œWhat?! You, really?ā€
Something about her tone made it seem like a horrible thing, to rarely get a Valentine's gift, and he bit back the comment that heā€™d spent most of his school (and thus, social) life in solitary classrooms and hospitals. ā€œUm, yeahā€¦ Sorry. How about youā€¦?ā€
This made her laugh, which reassured Haruka a twinge and was altogether expected. ā€œNo, fuck that noise. Itā€™s all dumb couple stuff, or whatever. ā€˜Sides, those girls who go around baking chocolates and handing them out to everyone else ā€˜as friendsā€™ when theyā€™re really just being snobby and betterā€¦ā€
Ah, Haruka had wandered into dangerous territory. Time to backpedal.
ā€œUm, I guessā€¦ I guess itā€™s sorta sweet to give things to your friends, thoughā€¦ Butā€¦ I sorta get what you mean?ā€ He tried to keep his answer vaguely neutral, and this seemed to content her enough that she dropped the topic through the rest of their walk.
The day passed like nothing unusual, but she did lag behind after the last bell. Finishing putting his homework and sketchbook safely into his bag, he turned to her quizzically as he buttoned his coat. ā€œIs something wrong, Takane? Usually you talk about wanting to leave school as soon as you canā€¦ā€
She snapped out of what seemed to have been a daze as she watched the light flurry outside the window, shifting to look at him. ā€œI. Um, no, e-everythingā€™s fine! Yep! Iā€™m just uhā€¦ Iā€™m doing something after school today, actually, soā€¦ā€
Ah. ā€œOh, right! You said something about Ayano, this morning.ā€
She nodded, ā€œY-yep! Sure did! Thatā€™s right, I gotta uh, talk to Ayanoā€¦ā€
He noticed she was acting like something was up, but quite frankly, he didnā€™t want to delve into a potentially risky conversation. ā€œAlright! Have funā€¦ and tell her I said hi! See you tomorrow, Takane, and donā€™t forget the homework!ā€
After a cheery wave at her, and a very half-hearted wave back, he left. Halfway through walking home, he noticed sheā€™d texted him-- it was along the lines of ā€œIf I sleep in tomorrow, you can just walk to school by yourselfā€, admittedly with less eloquence.
He was starting to wonder if something was up, but when he asked, she assured him that she was fine.
The next morning, he found that the intersection where they usually met was empty. Despite what sheā€™d told him last night, he lingered a few minutes, but eventually tightened his scarf against the lonely chill and set off to the school by himself. It was starting to feel more and more like an odd morning, but he figured he was just making things up.
The classroom door was open, thank goodness, and he announced himself as he entered.
ā€œGood morning--ā€
No one was in the class, he realized. He felt himself grow flushed after embarrassing himself so badly, but reassured himself that at least no one had been around to hear it. He sighed quietly, and hurried to his desk to just take a seat and relax--
It was at this point that he noticed the box on his desk, a strong red ribbon sloppily tied onto what seemed to be a box made out of repurposed, painted cardboard. Putting his bag down beside his chair, he moved closer to investigate what it was. Obviously, it seemed to be a Valentineā€™s gift, but he had no idea who it could be from-- sure, heā€™d had the odd run-in with the other girls in the school, but he kept to himself and that only left two others. Even then, Takane didnā€™t seem to be anywhere this morning, and the only way Ayano couldā€™ve gotten the chocolate into a school she didnā€™t even attend would be through her father, which seemed a bit peculiar in general.
Pushing his thoughts aside, he untangled the bow and placed it gently on the table beside the box. In the middle of reaching for the lid, he paused, a quick look around confirming that he was still alone in the classroom. At this rate, Takane was going to be late for class, but he figured she mustā€™ve just slept in again - besides, it was a bit more concerning that their teacher still hadnā€™t shown up, other than to unlock the class, apparently. Haruka hoped he wasnā€™t being chewed out by the principal again, but he wouldnā€™t be surprised if it turned out to be the case.
Returning to the box, he finally shimmied the lid off. His first observation: there was no note inside, which continued to answer absolutely none of his questions. The second thing he noticed was the chocolate itself - only one, which wasnā€™t a surprise considering the small size of the box, but it was a rather large hunk of it. It was molded into what seemed to be a heart shape, but the clumsiness of the form gave away that it was homemade. Haruka felt his face get a bit hotter, but reassured himself that it meant nothing. But if there was one person who he wouldnā€™t mind getting chocolate from...
No, he shook his head before he could get too embarrassed. Heā€™d always heard that home-made chocolate was only for special gifts, but he was sure there must be plenty of girls who did it for friends, too. No, no, he was already jumping to conclusions. It didnā€™t seem like a prank, Ayano certainly didnā€™t seem the type to have her father leave him a mystery gift, andā€¦ well, he was pretty sure Takane couldnā€™t bake, or at least she claimed she wasnā€™t good at it. Who did that even leave?
ā€œGā€™morning, Haruka.ā€
Haruka whipped around at the sound of Takaneā€™s voice, and she paused mid-step to stare at him like he was an alien. He was still holding the box, and he slowly loosened his clenched hands after being scared half to death by her appearance.
ā€œU-umā€¦ good morning!ā€ He gulped, struggling against the rasp in his throat.
ā€œUhh, yeahā€¦ You alright? You look fucking terrified. Did something happen?ā€
He nodded too vigorously, having to fidget with his hair to get it out of his eyes afterwards. ā€œYeah, um, donā€™t worry about it! Just, yā€™know, the way you showed up so suddenlyā€¦ made me feel like my heart stopped, haha.ā€ He instantly regretted the joke, the obvious fear on her face making him feel worse about his own health. But, no, this wasnā€™t the time, he reminded himself. It was a tasteless gag, and it didnā€™t merit moping over.
ā€œOh, uh, fuck, sorry. Didnā€™t mean to, umā€¦ yeah.ā€ She paused, for perhaps a bit too long. ā€œA-anyways, whatā€™re you holding? Looks, um, looks like a box.ā€
Haruka gulped, glad to switch topics, but not quite so glad that it was this topic. ā€œY-yeah, I found it on my desk this morningā€¦ Itā€™s got a chocolate in it, but no note. When did you get to school? Did you see anyone put it hereā€¦?ā€ He instantly realized his question was idiotic, considering she hadnā€™t even been around to walk to school with him, but it was too late to take it back.
She looked a little overwhelmed by all the questions, or at least that was what Haruka assumed. ā€œN-nah, just got here. But hey, chocolate? What are you, Haruka, a player? Next week Iā€™m gonna walk in here and find half the school fawning over you, huh?ā€
ā€œN-no! Takane, itā€™s not like that! Donā€™t say stuff like thatā€¦ā€ Her teasing grin didnā€™t make him feel any better, and he sighed as he returned the box to his desk and neatly placed the lid back on top. ā€œW-whatever. I just hope whoever it was tells me so I can thank themā€¦ā€
She stared, but he missed it. ā€œYeah, well, good luck. More importantly, where the fuck is Kenjirou? Heā€™s, like, twenty minutes lateā€¦ā€
The morning passed as usually as ā€œusualā€ was in their tiny, stuffy classroom, which consisted mainly of their teacher whining about all the rules he had to follow (this time, it was over how heā€™d broken fire safety regulations), followed by a lazy two hours of class, and then lunch.
ā€œShould Iā€¦?ā€ Haruka gestured to the chocolate in the middle of break.
Takane directed her horrified gaze at his empty bento, mouthing ā€œItā€™s only been ten fucking minutesā€¦ā€ before bothering to actually reply. ā€œWellā€¦ likeā€¦ isnā€™t it rude to the girl if you donā€™t? I-I mean, even if she doesnā€™t know.ā€
ā€œWellā€¦ā€ He looked down at the chocolate heart, slightly deformed as it was. ā€œI guess youā€™re right? Besidesā€¦ it looks good.ā€
As he nibbled at the pointed tip of the heart, Takane found herself watching him with a bit too much glee in her heart.
ā€œJesusā€¦ this crush is gonna fucking kill meā€¦ā€ Takane said it under her breath, too low for Haruka to hear over his preoccupation with the chocolate, but she still turned to face the other way beforehand.
Haruka paused, in the middle of taking his second bite. ā€œMm? Did you say something, Takane?ā€
With the speed that her head whipped around, it was a miracle that she didnā€™t hurt her neck. ā€œN-no! I was just saying that that chocolate looks goodā€¦ Wait! No! I donā€™t want any of yours. Itā€™s probably too, uh, sugary and gross.ā€
ā€œUmā€¦ wellā€¦ alright! But it tastes really nice, actuallyā€¦ Eheh.ā€
He smiled goofily, and the corner of her mouth quirked in response.
ā€œItā€™s too bad she didnā€™t leave a note, huh.ā€
